HAVE HAMAS LEFT HAMASTAN?

I am puzzled that the world media has not reported the startling news that Hamas have left Gaza. That is certainly the impression the BBC conveys because in its latest reports on the cleansing of Gaza, it reports that 391 “Palestinians” have been killed so far. Yes, but apparently not one of these has been a Hamas terrorist. So, as in Lebanon in 2006, the BBC refuses to number how many of the dead are Islamic Jihadi militia and instead lumps them all into one big convenient number which is then used to portray Israel as the cruel oppressor of poor innocent Arabs. I also note the continued pro-Hamas testimony of Jeremy Bowen, a man who makes Orla Guerin seem objective on Middle Eastern affairs! It would a lot more honest if the BBC just came clean, admitted they loath Israel and are license payer funded shills for the so-called Palestinians. The pretence of neutrality is so risible as to beyond parody.

(Meant to put the following in this thread, not the next one down.)

From today’s World Have Your Say with Hamas representative Osama Hamdan.

BBC presenter: First we have Bilal who is in Gaza. Bilal, What’s your question to Osama Hamdan?
Bilal: Thanks for letting me participate in this programme. I want to ask first of all Osama Hamdan, who is living in Beirut now and we are now under Israeli attack and they are hiding in their tunnels, the Hamas leaders, underground, and we are facing, become victims to Israeli airstrikes, awful airstrikes and aggressive airstrikes. My question is the following • where are you taking the Palestinian people now? Where are you taking? You are taking us as hostages, as hostages. You are a puppet within the Iranian’s hands. That’s my question.

Remember brave Bilal the next time a BBC journalist mouths off about how Israeli actions only increase support for Hamas.

A couple of days ago, a British ISM activist based in Gaza was interviewed on R5L; she lied that Israel had bombed hospitals, and the BBC ran her claims uncontested for the rest of the day in its bulletins. What are the chances that the protestations made against Hamas by Bilal – an actual Gazan – will get any further airplay on the BBC? My guess • no chance at all.

Egypt FM: Hamas must stop rockets in any truce
Associated Press Writer= CAIRO, Egypt (AP) — Egypt’s foreign minister said Thursday that Hamas must ensure rocket fire stops in any truce deal to halt Israel’s assault on the Gaza Strip, criticizing the Palestinian militants for giving Israel an excuse to launch the bombardment.

    Leader killed in Gaza attacks
An important man in politics has been killed in the latest round of Israeli air strikes in the Gaza Strip.

Nizar Rayyan died when his home was hit by a bomb. He was a leading member of Hamas – the Palestinan group which controls Gaza.
    ….
Hamas said Mr Rayyan was a political leader in its group, rather than a military leader. It is more unusual for a political figure to be killed, than one who is seen to be active in the armed wings.

On the bbc news they were saying
the motive of Israel was something like…
Israel wants to display its military strength to make up for its inability to defeat Hamas the last time.

They are trying to attribute a revenge motive to Israel. No mention of self-defence.

The Palestinians are totally obsessed with military victory as they are living in the middle ages and they think it will bring them some kind of ‘honour’. Can’t they turn around and see millions of square miles of muslim lands to live in right behind them? Where do they expect the Jews to go?
They have identified Israel as the origin of Judaism and Christianity and therefore they want it; to make themselves feel important.

Congratulations to David Vance for running the site, and maybe one day you could get a better name like biasbbc.co.uk or similar, on which you could include a link to this site.

Back on topic : I notice that when the BBC talks about Israeli casualities (when they ever so rarely mention them) we are treated to shots of sodiers and tanks. When they mention Pally injuries it’s always, always women and little kids.
    Anonymous | 01.01.09 – 7:09 pm | #

Well spotted, Bruce. They so rarely mention Israeli casualties because up to now they have been almost miraculously low. Actually casualties in general have been low by the standards of modern warfare and relative to the amounts of explosive dropped.

Low casualties are a good thing. Also Israel hasn’t learnt the Hamas trick of exploiting casualties for PR or creating casualties from healthy people when real casualties are sparse.

The BBC has an internal cynical death rate consideration that is merely based on politics, we all know the cliche of the British person injuring their leg when on holiday in an area that has seen multiple foreign death, and this is disproportionatley reported.

The nightclub fire in Bangkok is an example I noticed. Clearly a one off example of stupidity where sparklers were allowed to be rampant, however at the end of the report I noticed the reporter editorialising as if this is something that must be wiped out like it was something that happens over and over and could be legislated for. It sums up the knee jerk holier than thou, post stable door, Beeb for me,

The thing that struck me more about this issue is, that later while reporting that a Hamas leader was killed and reminding us of the civilian deaths, was that the number of innocents in this Bangkok fire was far more than could be clearly accounted for by IDF fire, but politics will always outweigh even their own safety posturings and we here no more investigation of Hamas accountability.

BTW As i was writing this (11:15) I swear I heard the weather guy giving the summary of Euro weather saying “the Last of the anthropogenic snow has gone” WTF?

Osama Hamdan comes on about a fifth of the way through (BBC favourite Azzam Tamimi stands in for him during the first section of the show). I’m guessing the show will only be available until today’s WHYS replaces it.

Talking of BBC favourites – terrorism apologist Alastair Crooke was on Today this morning, the latest of many appearances on the BBC this week. The way Crooke tells it Hamas is a humanitarian organisation devoted to democracy.

    Re; Al Crooke.

They can have him on as much as they like, but they must introduce him as the Hamas spokesman that he is, and not as ‘expert on middle east affairs’

He said “All Hamas wants is for the Palestinian people to be able to get on with living a normal life .”

Al-Hayat last Wednesday reported Hamas’s new laws enforcing punishments of whipping for drinking, dismembering for theft, and executions for a host of ambiguous crimes. “Games of chance” are also to be punished with the whip.
    Ron Prosor, yesterday’s Telegraph.

I wonder if Sarah Montague lives that kind of normal life? R4 Today staff should be whipped, dismembered and executed straight away.

“Palestinian medical officials say 391 Palestinians have died in the Israeli air strikes; the UN says 25% of these were civilians.”

If they’re not civilians then surely they’re people directly or indirectly involved in fighting Israel (i.e. terrorists if you like)?? So what’s the complaint?

It is well remembered that, years ago, Bowen was one of the first media stars to inform us it looked as if the Americans were going to go after the Afghastlystanis after the World Trade Centre event. After informing us, he then looked us in the eye, knowingly wagging his head from side to side. The tape must exist somewhere. Any chance of campaigning to have it played back to us? Such a memorable moment in the history of impartial reporting.

The towel head that the Israelis took out the other day had apparently had one of his sons act as a suicide bomber. Many Palestinians and other Muslims happily send their kids off to kill Jews by strapping explosives to them so why are they so upset when they get killed now?

Perhaps if they loved their kids ab it more and hated the Jews a bit less they might think about the future for their children.

Muslims always seem to hide behind women and children when they fight. One word sums up Muslims. COWARDS.

More on the Hamas hero slotted by the IAF:

Who invented the “Human Shields” method?
Hamas has released an official statement declaring that Dr. Nizar al-Rayyan who was killed in a pinpointed attack earlier today is the father of the “Human Shields” method:

“It was Dr. Rayyan, who took the initiative, two years ago, to protect homes against Israeli occupation air strikes by forming human shields which succeeded in stopping this practice by the Israeli occupation, where they used to phone the occupier of the home and warn him to evacuate it in ten minutes because the home is going to be bombed.”
    [bold not in source]

    Not The BBC News:

In the midst of war’s horror, a terrible vengeance
By Taghreed el-Khodary and Ethan Bronner
    Monday, December 29, 2008

GAZA: At Shifa Hospital on Monday, armed Hamas militants in civilian clothes roved the halls. Asked their function, they said they were providing security. But there was internal bloodletting under way.

In the fourth floor orthopedic section, a woman in her late twenties asked a militant to let her see Saleh Hajoj, her 32-year-old husband. She was turned away and left the hospital. Fifteen minutes later, Hajoj was carried out of his room by young men pretending to transfer him to another hospital section. As he lay on the stretcher, he was shot in the left side of the head. A bit of brain emerged on the other side of his skull.

Hajoj, like five others who were killed at the hospital in this way in the previous 24 hours, was accused of collaboration with Israel. He had been in the central prison awaiting trial by Hamas judges, and when Israel destroyed the prison on Sunday he and the others were transferred to the hospital. But their trials were short-circuited.

A crowd at the hospital showed no pity after the shooting, which was widely observed. A man in his thirties mocked a woman who expressed horror at the scene.

“This horrified you?” he shouted. “A collaborator that caused the death of many innocent and resistance fighters?”

Another man told her, “It was his brother who killed him to wipe away the shame from his family.”

Such nice people, they really deserve a state! :-/

This weekend the usual suspects – jihadists, Burka Blackshirts and friends of the SWP will be gathering to protest against the war against terrorists, ably supported by such intellectual heavyweights as Annie (no hits for 20 years) Lennox and Bianca Jagger.

The usual Jewish kapos will be there too. I wonder what they will feel when the Burka Blackshirts start calling for the “return of the ovens” as their Muslim bruvvers did in Fort Lauderdale yesterday. Will Alexei Sayle join in?

The BBC will, of course give their comrades enormous coverage and triple the numbers present.

The BBC prefers to portray Jews as either Holocaust victims or as Faginesque stereotypes.

Of course, there is nothing the BBC and their comrades hate more than an uppity Jew. You know, one that actually fights back and isn’t in a ghetto or a gulag.

The only reason the Israelis kill ‘a few civilians’ is because the cowardly Muslim scum hide behind women and children.

Why don’t they move their children out of Gaza? That’s what people did here during the bombing of London in WW2.

and anyway if Muslims love their scummy brats so much, why do they strap explosives to so many of them?

Unfortunately they were no match for the slick Tamimi. He pounced on the fact of the Hamas leader’s death along with his family as “proof” that Hamas stands by the people, gliding past the fact that the rest of the leaders are hiding like rats in a hole.

Tamimi was interviewed a few years ago on Hardtalk by Tim Sebastian – about the only BBC journalist worthy of the term – and Sebastian got him into a corner, got him to admit that he approved of suicide bombing of Israelis and then asked him whether, since he approved of it, why he himself didn’t go to Israel and blow himself up. Tamimi wriggled out of it by claiming that he couldn’t get into Palestine, but that if he could, he would be there like a shot.
