A woman in Northern Ireland dies of rabies, reports the BBC. But never the full story, which the general public are obviously deemed too sensitive to handle.

According to the BBC, she contracted this terrible disease “overseas”. That narrows it down. Other news sites tell us it was South Africa, without choking on self-righteous political correctness. Why does the BBC have to censor the news in this way?

“How many times have you heard or read words to the effect that 4000 scientists from the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate change (IPCC) supported the claims about a significant human influence on climate? I think I’ve seen it on television, radio and the Internet and I know that politicians at national levels have quoted such figures. There’s no question whatsoever. It’s utterly wrong.
In fact, once the duplicated names are removed that number falls below 2,900 and if we only want those who explicitly supported the claims it falls to only about 60. So how does 4,000 become 60? Let’s take a closer look at the real numbers.”

“The Reign of the Mediacracy” (by David Solway).

The BBC receives a brief, dishonourable mention here:

    [Extract]-

“If we listen primarily to the BBC and read The Guardian in England—two of the most cambered news organizations in the Western world—or in Canada read mainly The Globe and Mail or The Toronto Star and tune in to CBC Radio’s As It Happens, or CBC TV’s various news programs (and its French counterpart, Radio Canada), or are addicted to The Washinton Post, The Nation and CNN in the U.S., we will have a completely distorted view of current events and international politics.”

On the Gaza story we will be getting two significantly different views.

The Guardian has been running this week with a theme that Israel plans to destroy Hamas – regime change is the goal.

The BBC deny this and say such a thing is not possible – Israel must get used to living with Hamas, negotiate etc.

    Interesting.

The CEO of Next commenting on how the VAT cut had had no effect on sales was described as ‘Simon Wolfson, Conservative supporter’ on the BBC news.

Fine, puts it in context, but how rarely do we hear ‘Mr So-and-so a prominent Labour supporter’ to put anything in context?

    Very rarely.

Do the BBC really have to get every single bulletin cleared by Alastair Campbell first?

In view of the following, can we expect BBC to push for early entry of 75 million Turkish Muslims into the EU?:

    ‘Jihadwatch’

“‘Allahu akbar’: Israeli basketball team attacked in Turkey.”

    [Extract]:

“‘The fans waved Palestinian flags and shouted abuse towards Israel.’ Some say fans shouted ‘Death to the Jews.’ They threw bottles at the Israeli players. The team had to flee the court.

“Looks as if the Turks will fit right in in the EU.”

Although, if arne_norway (#10) is saying is true then this information should be known whenever this doctor is used as a source….”

looks like arne-norway explained the background of the Norwegian doctor working in Gaza
see 5050’s comment on the BBBC thread “Gaza History 101”

    5050 noline:
The doctor featured in the BBC clip making the claims of millions dead etc is Dr Mads Gilbert. He is a Norwegian doctor. He is also a political activist of the Rodt party – a Revolutionary Socialist party in Norway. He has aligned himself with the Palestinian cause and is, therefore, the ideal BBC talking head.

The reason (well, one of many reasons) that Paxgit and Dimbletwit do this, is that they think THEY are the story. I think they genuinely, deeply believe this. It is, in fact, a form of mental disorder; the belief that the world revolves around you. That the programme is there to make you look good, important, tough etc, not to provide a service to those who pay your salary, the public.

    Labour to print more money!

“Well, we have now arrived at the end of the journey. Print more money and the cash in circulation takes a nose dive and soon becomes worthless Soon, a car boot of cash will buy you half a loaf of bread. The next step is a thousand pound note – then maybe a million pound note.
Don’t these maniacs ever learn from history ? Banana Republic here we come.”

There’ a people’s revolt going on about the EU’s diktat on the introduction of “energy saving” lightbulbs (they are no such thing, but that’s another story). So how does BBC Breakfast cover the story? – by bringing in an “expert” from De Montfort University, who, while saying the new bulbs are bonkers, also gives a full-scale lecture on how climate change is happening and it’s essential that the government introduces “renewable” energy.

The deluge of AGW propaganda is relentless and has no boundaries.

The BBC seems disinterested in reporting, and learning the lessons from the Islamic jihad attacks in Mumbai, last November.

    The ‘Telegraph’ is better:

“Pakistani terrorists cheered as they heard the Mumbai attackers shoot innocent hotel guests live over an open satellite telephone line, new evidence has revealed.”

Amusingly the econutters who disrupted flights the other month are now being sued for all they’ve got by Ryanair.

As one would expect the public comments are wholly in favour – I await the Beeb report and assume that the quotes used will be similarly skewed towards those appreciative of that nice Mr O’Leary’s move.
