One of the reasons the pro illegal Channel crossings give for why it’s impossible to stop the boats is that there is no gap between French eaters and UK ones. The two territorial areas butt against each other in the Dover-Calais zone. Once a rubber dinghy leaves France it’s instantly in Britain. However today’s crossing from Cherbourg to the Isle of Wight is 200 miles, meaning the dinghy was in International waters for about 176 miles, ample opportunity to tow the dinghy back to France or simply stopped. And yet the migrants are ferried here by border force and RNLI.
Sadly my optimistic wind forecast fell short.

It has seemed to me, for quite a few years now, that, at some point, there must be a backlash against current (highly unpopular) immigration policies, not just here, but across Europe. People have been asked (then forced) to tolerate the ‘intolerable’ for too long now, and to accept changes they neither asked for, nor wanted.
If the response came earlier, it would probably be more muted, more controlled, and more moderate, but if the sentiments of a large swathe of the public were forcibly denied for longer, then the response would be more dramatic, and possibly more violent, when it was finally unleashed.
It’s just commonsense really, and what any study of history seems to demonstrate, and no, I’m definitely not condoning violence, or other ‘thuggery’, but when it happens, it will be entirely self inflicted.
The suppression of protests is getting more and more extreme as they get more desperate to suppress the Right. They had an exclusion order around the port so you would be arrested just for going there to protest.
If we put all these migrants into the leafy suburbs where all the middle class BBC liberals and politicians live to lurk on street corners in gangs and leer at their daughters as they walked past, things would be entirely different.
I wonder how many people know that it doesn’t matter if these migrants are asylum seekers or not. We keep them and fund them as ‘destitute’ with free food and housing anyway because they all destroy their passports on the boat so their own country will not take them back, even if we knew who they were. So they are simply released on bail into the community as we don’t have the resources to detain them. All of them.

The AfD has won the regional election in Saxony Anhalt but fell just short of the number of seats required to take power alone but the BSW party is not opposed to forming a coalition with it . As I’ve said before, the portion of line on the Birmingham to Manchester section of HS2 has resumed work or is about to. I noticed the other day that site cabins are now on site. They’re proceeding with it but there’s been no announcement in Parliament or the media. My guess is it will be announced in the Budget or just after to hide the cost. Quite where the money will come from is anybody’s guess.
