SPRING HAS SPRUNG

Interested to hear John Humphrys assert this morning that Spring comes earlier each year “because of global warming.” I was wondering on what basis John feels entitled to state this, or was he just making it up as he went along. Give it a listen here, it’s at the very beginning.

  6. Lee Moore says:

Earlier Spring may be down to warming, or greater CO2 concentrations, or both. The jury is still out on how much to ascribe to each factor, see for example :

    http://www.co2science.org/articles/V8/N43/EDIT.php

I would put a slightly different emphasis on Grant’s summary of the BBC’s attitude. It’s more that any unusual warmth is ascribed to global warming, but any unusual coolness is merely local and is ascribed to temporary variation or special one off conditions, random fluctuation that one shouldn’t pay attention to on a timescale of less than 100 years, and so on.

All organisations, especially the media, are inherently unscientific. When they fill a science correspondent position it is invariably filled with a trained journalist who has barely dipped their toe into science. It’s patently obvious that Humphrys is unqualified to make a statement like that.

As for Humprhys I expect he won’t be moving to a well-insulated, small-windowed flat on a brownfield site in an inner city as affluent greens tell everyone else to do for the sake of the planet. No, he’ll continue live the metropolitan life/rural idyll split so favoured by many others of his type, along with its need for more than one home and lots of CO2 producing travel.

I, personally, believe the best tactic in view of the insolent behaviour of the planet in cooling down when it is supposed to be warming up, is to talk less about ‘global warming’ and more about ‘climate change’. Then gradually we can move towards the position ‘CO2 causes weather’. I would like to see the defiant planet sabotage that one!

I am not sure how much longer our people in the BBC can hang on to the ‘warming’ notion. They are doing their best, but I fear the continued stubborness by the planet in cooling down when the BBC said it must warm up is already making them look ridiculous, and I am receiving feedback that they don’t think they can push the warming idea at the 100% bias level much longer. Some are even talking of reducing the bias to 97%

Therefore it is essential that we apply for grants to find other evil effects of CO2, in particular American CO2.

Someone kicked off nicely on the C.Booker Sun Tel column by saying it makes the sea turn acidic. Nice one!

I have a few more evil effects to offer to grant applicants:

    – CO2 makes plants grow too fast

    – CO2 causes fizzy bubbles to appear in many soft drinks when the top is unscrewed.

    – CO2 causes a white cloud to appear when you try and use a fire extinguisher, thereby obscuring the view. This has obvious Health and Safety implications if you cannot see the fire properly, which are important to mention when applying for a grant.

The refusal of the planet to behave itself and warm up as predicted won’t dampen the BBC’s enthusiasm for the global warming fad for decades yet.

The left’s enthusiasms for silly ideas always takes ages to subside – many BCC/Guardian types are still utterly convinced of the benefits of socialism and ‘progressive’ educational theories for example. People who live lives cut off from reality have no need to change their opinions just because of inconvenient facts.

I think that is the key – they really do have their own little world. That is because there are so many of them all like each other at work all day, then they socialise with the same types later I would guess, so that in the end, their world view becomes normal.

That was why they were genuinely surprised to discover that their loved one J Ross was not in fact loved by everyone else, on that occasion when their world interacted briefly with the real world.

Do you know why the weather in Britain has always been a main topic of conversation? Its because it is so unpredictable. It could be warm one day and below zero the next. One minute it might be pouring with rain the next it is glorious sunshine.

So today John Humphrey’s says the warmth is due to global warming – and if there is another blizzard next week will he put it down to global cooling. The BBC are so full of their own sense of infallibility that they never even realize what they are saying is rubbish.

    Well yes and no.

The people that run this world are many very bad things. One of which is highly racist, in the real meaning of the word.

They do believe that white people are inherently superior to all other races especially the Negro race. Which they would very much like to virtually exterminate at some time in the future. Unless of course the establishments appointed slave owner is a black man himself, like Mugabe for example. In which case they simply allow the murderous psychopath to carry on killing his own people, to his own hearts content.

However for our elites economic and social reasons, murdering and murderously impoverishing black people is generally a wast of their establishments precious time. As many years of practice all over Africa, has shown them.

We, the people of the first world, are the big consumers.

Therefore, as far as our establishment and its BBC are concerned.

We are taking up too much room in their country side. While costing them too much of THEIR worlds resources, keeping us half happy, over fed, entertained, sufficiently ignorant and properly pensioned.

    IMO

This is not a good thing for us, to say the least.

It is time for us, the mainly white people yet again, to undergo a ‘over late culling’ of our numbers, simply to make the elites sums add up, if not for a whole lot of other essentially NAZI FASCIST type reasons.

    In conclusion

    IMO

Our ruling elites are not really racist in this sense. They would murder us all, if they could manufacture enough of their own slaves, and knew 100% they could mostly all get away with it.

Martin – I caught the odd bit of this and my jaw dropped at his apparent call for the transformation of Britain into some kind of Mega-City high-tech ant-hill in order to accomodate a population swollen hugely by climate-refugees from the South. (Sort of a right-on lifeboat with the landscape hidden under demented levels of development).

The stupid old git thinks the correct response to the long long environmental emergency he’s been forecasting is to turn Britain into a giant-sized version of inner-city London?

I didn’t hear Mayo at any point suggest that any of this might be bollocks – if anything, he seemed to be swooning quite shamelessly at the old pseud. Nor did he comment on the ageing Cassandra’s plans to hitch a lift aboard Richard Branson’s space-flight enterprise even with all the howwible emissions those noisy rockets make.

When Lovelock was interviewed earlier in the week he made the same stupid point – everyone who wanted to should be allowed settlement in the UK as our climate and agriculture would still be OK. Pile ’em high seemed to be his point.

Again, it never crossed the mind of the interviewer to suggest that the Brits might object to this.

BBC – we believe in unlimited immigration, the more the merrier.

Spring ‘officially’ starts around March 20 as the vernal equinox. but of course what these GW types are talking about is spring like temperatures

So let’s see what happens if we apply common sense to this situation.

Assuming every year springs comes one day sooner (temp wise) and that according to the IPCC GW has been going on since the late 1970s then (assuming 1980 as a start date for the roll back of winter) we should see every year spring like conditions by early Feb. So far this has not happened though I am sure the GW chattering classes will have a quick explanation.

Reimer: Simon Mayo actually admitted at the start of the interview that he really thinks a lot of Lovelock.

Mayo quotes this pillock all the time when he talks about climate change to others. He admitted as much today.

What gets me is that the BBC see Lovelock as the opposing view of climate change believe it or not.

What Lovelock misses is that human beings will do what human beings have always done which is adapt to climate change.

Look at Holland. Look at Venice. Humans have been living in the Arctic for thousands of years.

Humans can adapt to climate change without moving.

Lovelock is right that there is bugger all we can do to stop the planet changing it always has and always will.

Driving a Toyota ‘Pious’ will make no difference.

However depopulating the Earth is a good idea.

As Lovelock pointed out, the eco loons want us to go back to living in the Stone age, expect only a few million people will be able to live like that.

The BBC seems to have decided to crank up the climate change rhetoric today. Why would that be?

On PM it was a story about the melting ice near Iceland freeing up uncharted, and dangerous, waters. In February? In the northern hemisphere?

Then the 10 O’Clock News tells us how environment ministers from around the world have all gone to Antarctica to look at the melting ice. Well, it’s the end of the southern hemisphere summer, a good time to view melting ice. Hang on though, wasn’t the report about Antarctica warming up debunked almost immediately when it was found that missing data had been made up? Not according to the enthusiastic reporter who informed us that Antarctica was warming up as if it were fact.

Anyway, how did the world leaders get there, by executive jet or sail power? Sorry, can’t answer that one, too difficult.
