News at Ten, “30,000 more people have lost their jobs”. No 30,000 more people are out of work. Many more than that lost jobs, it is just that some have got work, probably often like me less good work at lower pay and giving less useful experience.

Has the BBC reported this important study on “Climate Change”?

I expect not. Its not as if its from a far flung university, Bristol is only a 120 miles from London.

    Newsnight leading with ‘the recovery’.
They are reporting that regardless of the BoE saying there is no recovery, there is a recovery. Right on time, they move to David Cameron and go on about how much he would cut public spending and therefore slow down the speed of recovery.
Danny Blanchflower is now a guest – guess what he is going to say and fortunately, Lord Lamont for a bit of equality though I do not know who the third one is – usually a Labour friendly plant.
Oh, Lamont interrupted after 30 seconds.
    I’m turning it off now.

    Part 1

The bBC, writing up the history of the Taliban and half the story.
    Who are the Taliban?
Recent years have seen the re-emergence of the hardline Islamic Taliban movement as a fighting force in Afghanistan and a major threat to its government……the Taliban in Afghanistan were accused of providing a sanctuary to Osama Bin Laden and the al-Qaeda movement who were blamed for the attacks….(Accused , I thought this was Historical fact)
Afghans, weary of the mujahideen’s excesses and infighting after the Soviets were driven out, generally welcomed the Taliban when they first appeared on the scene… ( I’m sure the people of the city of  Mazar-e Sharif  where 8000+ civilians were murdered for having the gall to refuse to submit to Taliban rule in 1997 may have a different outlook on that statement)

They were accused of various human rights and cultural abuses. One notorious example was in 2001, when the Taliban went ahead with the destruction of the famous Bamiyan Buddha statues in central Afghanistan, despite international outrage…..(Right the Taliban forbid women from working, receiving an education, receiving medical treatment, had no problem shooting them in the head inside the football stadium, whipping a visiting Pakistani football team for wearing shorts and the bBC illuminates just how bad these religious bigots where by how they blew up a couple of statues. )

Despite ever higher numbers of foreign troops, the Taliban have steadily extended their influence, rendering vast tracts of Afghanistan  insecure, and violence in the country has returned to levels not seen since 2001… (And for that we can thank the bBC who not only gives the murderous Taliban prime time air time in which to tell their version of the story first..Civilians killed, Civilians’ killed, Civilians killed.. The bBC will actually ring up the Taliban and ask them how they are doing.)

Did anybody watch the bBC news this morning and the story about Natures litter. Yes folks those nasty trees which you see all around are responsible for causing global warming because when that litter they drop rots it gives off CH4 which is a lot worse than CO2.
Cue thick as two planks female presenter wearing scarf at Kew GArdens where apparently they don’t need to clear away the leaves as the worms eat them. No shit sherlock..
Anyway it looks like this is the latest bBC cause, could be why they have the story on their web site.
I have to ask out loud why are they promoting the leaf log company.  So much.
