THE RETURN OF SHAHIL

I am sure that all decent people will be pleased to know that the little kidnapped British boy, Sahil Saeed, has been released from captivity from where he was being held prisoner in Pakistan. Is it just me or has the BBC coverage of this story – led by the fragrant Orla Guerin – been MASSIVELY  over the top all day? Thoughts?

A happy ending human interest story keeps the rapid disintegration of the Brownite junta off the news.
They know he is finished but just can’t bear to face up to the reality.
For God’s sake Cameron end the TV tax and put a smile on our faces and misery on theirs.

I get the impression there may be more to this story than meets the eye.

Good day to bury bad news.

    1. EU telling the one eyed cretin to get his shit together.

    2. Petrol going up faster than a beeboids hands around a rent boys backside

    3. Unite/Liebour looking to disrupt BA flights by getting global union support.

    4. The BBC attacking Kraft directors over the UK job losses yet totally forgetting those sound bites they RAN AND RAN AND RAN of the one eyed prat and Lord Fondelbum spouting on about how they’d be watching Kraft to protect British jobs.

I could go on. The BBC going ON AND ON AND ON about a hung Parliament even though opinion polls are showing the Tories pulling ahead again (personally I’ve never though their lead was less than 10% anyway) the BBC is still trying to pretend a hung Parliament will keep the one eyed bogey eater in power.

Yes, far to much press. When you consider this story, ignored by the BBC:

A bit story, wouldn’t you agree?

The drumbeat in the BBC and the paper press about the “Britishness” of this 5-year old ignores  his kidnappers rendering – as proof of the kidnapping – his Pakistan ID card shown here

    http://www.alertnet.org/thenews/pictures/AAL107.htm

Anyone can be dual nationality but how come this British boy received the ID card of a foreign country.  Where was he born? Is he resident there?  How does a 5-year old qualify for Pakistani residence/nationality while, ostensibly, a resident and citizen of the UK?  Of course, there may be perfectly reasonable explanations (dual nationality is not all that unusual) but no journalist has bothered to explore this aspect of the case.  BTW, it is rumoured that a ransom of £100,000 was paid for his release and police (in Pakistan certainly/in the UK unlikely) are investigating this.

Along with others on this site I get the feeling that we’re not being told the whole story (and, funnily enough, too much of the story) but, as other commenters and the poster have noted, the story is too convenient – and now too “feel-good” – to let go.

WHY WAS HE IN PAKISTAN AND NOT IN SCHOOL?

Maybe the BBC’s focus on the kidnapped boy rather than on the gangland torturing follows the USA ‘liberal’ media’s notion that portraying non-whites as victims is good, but as perpetrators, not good.

The BBC may call him “British” – but wait untill he goes for a job. Will he be describing himself as British then? I doubt it. He would be much disadvataged if he did.
