WHO LET THE THUGS OUT?

BBC reporter Mark Simpson was on this morning to tell us about a car bombing of a police station in Londonderry. Of course Mark doesn’t call it Londonderry, he chooses to use the preferred Irish nationalist term “Derry”. He also suggests that this was a relatively minor event – nothing to see move along. We then had the Mayor of “Derry” interviewed – once again the BBC using a particular term – on to tell us that nobody supports these people and that Derry is a great city. Well, maybe the BBC could have asked the Mayor why the police cannot gain convictions against those republican terrorists who seem to operate with impunity from the “UK City of Culture” that is Londonderry? Surely the residents of the Bogside and other such salubrious areas would not provide sanctuary and succour to murderous “dissident” terrorists in the exact same way as they did to Machine Gun McGuinness and his fellow terrorists in the IRA? We’ll never know as the BBC will never ask such questions.

THE PAKISTAN PROBLEM

The BBC is quite outrageous in the way IT is trying to keep the row over David Cameron’s comments about elements with the Pakistani establishment “looking both ways” when it comes to the war on terror. Each morning, they are running stories to imply that everyone (mostly them and a few Labour Asian MP’s) is enraged at Cameron’s “insult”to Pakistan. It’s remarkable to see the BBC acting as chief cheer-leader for anyone in Pakistan (or Labour) who wants to attack Cameron for simply stating the truth. There is plenty that Cameron says I take issue with (not least on Gaza) but the BBC is turning these Pakistan comments into a running soap-opera in an attempt to damage the Conservative leader.

Meanwhile, the BBC is also giving lots of coverage to the disastrous floods in northwest Pakistan. Had to laugh at our old friend Aleem Maqbool’s interview here with a guy who just complained and would not stop, even after the interview had finished. Thank goodness the UK has coughed up £10m to help the nuclear power Pakistan deal with this humanitarian crisis.

"ASIAN" MEN

The BBC ran this item this morning concerning the sexual exploitation of a 14 year old girl by what is consistently referred to as a group of “men”. Towards the end of the item, Sarah Montague brought up the point that some people might point to the fact that these men were “Asian”. Martin Narey from Barnardos was on hand to dismiss the idea that one could draw any conclusions from this, perish the thought. Well, the men were of Asian origin – however not of the Hindu or Sikh faiths. Nope, this was a Muslim gang preying on this young white girl but the BBC is so frightened to state the facts that it obfuscates to save blushes. This is not the first case of this type and the BBC fails in its duty to make us away of the broader issue. Then again, it is so dhimmified that this comes as little surprise.

HOW VERY DARE HE!

A Biased BBC reader brought this totally neutral balanced piece of political reporting by Paul Reynolds to my attention; For some reason, I can’t seem to recall Paul being quite so sarcastic during the Labour years, I wonder why?

The British Prime Minister David Cameron has invented a new diplomacy – go to one country and criticise another.

White and Hideously Liberal.

There’s been a spate of critical analyses and lampoons of “white liberals” on some of the blogs I’ve been looking at.
The longest post I’ve ever seen by Edmund Standing on Harry’s Place has polarised the commentariat – they either love it or loathe it – then there’s this ballad from Mark Allinson in a comment on Melanie Phillips’ blog (August 2nd, 2010 12:22am) that starts:
I envy the moral perfection,
Of the folks on the cultural left;
” and this witty ditty by Roy Zimmerman.

Some of it encapsulates the self loathing, guilt ridden philosophy of the champagne socialist and white liberal lot that we fund to educate entertain and inform us.

The thing that stands out like a sore thumb if you’ll forgive the unintended sick pun, is that in their desperate struggle not to be racist they must embrace all cultural differences, and in so doing they necessarily overlook or downplay such things as female genital mutilation, which, allegedly, is actually being done here in multicultural Britain.
I’m not saying that they don’t know, or don’t care that this is happening, rather it’s their refusal to admit that this is just the sharp end of a very big wedge that is being driven into our country.

ROCKET (like an Egyptian)

BBC seemed more perturbed this morning that one rocket fired by peace-loving Islamic “militants” from the Sinai landed in Jordan than the several fired at Eilat in Israel. There is an almost blase approach to the BBC method of reporting terrorist attacks on Israel almost suggesting that the Israelis have invited such attacks. But since the BBC is neutral on all these matters, that can’t be the case, can it?

WE’RE ALL PAKISTANIS NOW…

The BBC media coverage has been dominated by Pakistan this morning. Whether it is floods in Pakistan or Pakistan offence at comments made by David Cameron, the BBC is there to faithfully record Pakistan opinion. On Today this morning, there was a virtually incomprehensible interview with the Pakistan Information Minister – give it a listen. It seems to me the BBC love the idea that Cameron has offended Pakistan (for speaking the truth, as it happens) and so they are now wide open and welcoming of any Pakistani criticisms of the hated Coalition.

WHY THE ADAM SMITH INSTITUTE IS PARTIALLY WRONG!

Perhaps you may have read that the Adam Smith Institute has suggested that the BBC should wind up its licence fee and become a voluntary subscription-based service. I agree with that part but I would take issue  with the view postulated by the Adam Smith Institute that the BBC is the UK’s strongest media asset. It is the UK’s most dangerous negative anti-British media liability and the idea that it can play a positive role in global terms is also contentious. The BBC license imposition must go. The BBC bias can stay so long as it does not cost me one penny. The BBC monster must be slain and there is no point of compromise with it. That is not to say that it does not have some professional staff working for it – it does and I know some of them. But the bias is so deep, so instinctive, so visceral, that it will never go away.

THE DIANAFICATION OF HIGGINS

The BBC has been bigging up the funeral of Alex Higgins this morning, and has been trailering this for days now. Now I was sorry that Higgins had died young and throat cancer is a terrible thing, but one has to wonder why the BBC gives so much time to his funeral, turning it into another celeb event. The Dianafication of British culture continues apace and the State Broadcaster plays a central role, dumbing us down, conveying faux emotions, creating bread and circuses.
