TERRY JONES BANNED – BUT ON TODAY!

My goodness, has the Coalition taken umbrage against ageing Monty Python stars? Phew, no, not THAT Terry Jones but rather the US Pastor guy who had threatened to burn the Koran on the last anniversary of 9/11, to the chagrin of many. In my view, Jones is a nutter but in a democracy we must be tolerant of all views. I wondered what you thought of John Humphyrs interview with Jones this morning? I wonder would an Islamic Mullah be afforded the same questioning>

…and taken in context along with Warsis’ comments, its the beeboids pushing their agenda that you rotters shouldn’t be beastly to the self detonating community.
(Even if they do cling to their medieval culture and religious beliefs, the bbc has decreed they must be appeased.)

I actually thought the interview itself was reasonable. Jones was given the chance to put his point across.  But no, I can’t imagine a muslim being asked to explain if he thought other religions were the work of the devil – but then again he probably wouldn’t be so naive as to say so directly on the Today programme.

I don’t know what the hell the State Broadcaster is playing at here.
The evil Coalition has banned Pastor Terry Jones from entering the UK, so the narrative from an unbiased BBC should have been about asking Mr. Jones as to whether he thought this country discriminates over free speech or not.
But of course the BBC didn’t do that.
Am I alone in thinking that the Beeb would secretly have loved Terry to have been granted a Visa ?
The hours of endless hand-wringing, another chance to attack the Tories and the chance for no end of left-wing nut jobs to opine on the BBC.
The State Broadcaster must be mourning to-day.

Well, no Mullahs could ever be thought a few sticks short of a satisfactory pyro display. That’s a given. And are all are very tolerant of any other views, of course.

So, really, asking such folk why some get in, and others don’t, on such a uniquely variable basis, would be plain unnecessary.

Maybe Pastor Tel should have an IED malfunction in his back room, lose a limb or two, then lob over here and claim asylum (plus a nice 6 up and 8 down for the extended fam).

In like Flint and with his own slot on Newsnight before you can say ‘double standards’.

Jones is not a nutter. A self-publicist and opportunist maybe, but certainly no nutter. Calling him a nutter is slathering it on very thick and makes you look no better than the people you are fighting against David. Think before engaging next time?  You’re so much better than that normally.

May’s decision was hopelessly wrong, as we all know, as it plainly shows that the UK government is afraid of radical Islam.

As for the interview, it was a meaningless exercise. We all knew how it was going to be, much like Tony Livesy’s asinine attempt on 5 Live last night. It really was a case of the BBC being the BBC. Sloppy journalism, and no intellect. Nothing to see here, move along.

    Terry Jones is stupid.
On his visa application where it says ” Reason for Travel “, he should have put  ” To incite muslims to murder non-muslims”.  He would have been welcomed to the UK with open arms by the so-called “authorities”.

Or “to head-up sex gang wot preys on young, white women in the Manchester area” – that would have guaranteed entry, and also a public-funded handout towards the fuel costs of “cruising” in said area.

Unfortunately, Mr Jones is not tv-friendly. He needs a make-over. And a Champion in the Houses of Parliament. However, if it was my decision, I would let him come to our country. Why not, everyone else seems to think they are entitled to be here? And what harm could the man have actually done; provoked a few muslims – who hate us anyway, so they don’t need much provoking?

    • Dino64 says:

Yeah, John I agree that he’s not exactly tv-friendly. But he should’ve been let in, no doubt. This country is on the PC skids.

Grant, give me one instance that Terry Jones has shown himself to be stupid. Hmm?  Apart from the non-burning of a Koran (hence my self-publicist and opportunist comment), I see no stupidity in the man.
He sounds confident of his own views in interviews and stays true to them. He’s very sure of himself in fact.
I don’t see any stupidity there at all.  All ad hominems do is lose arguments. Get my drift?

      Dino,
I know nothing about him. I was being ironic. Perhaps a clumsy way of saying that muslims who incite people to murder are allowed into this country with no problem.

  9. David Preiser (USA) says:

How tragic that the Coalition Government is just as Orwellian as the previous Labour Government.  Jacqui Smith banned Geert Wilders for thought crimes, and now Pastor Jones has been banned for a thought crime.

Humphrys’s tone of voice when he says, “You threatened to burn the Koran” is that of an advocate, not of an objective journalist.  At no point does anyone at the BBC address the fact that the man has done nothing except express a thought.  Humphrys behaves as if the man has actually done something.  He has done nothing. He didn’t incite violence, he didn’t encourage anyone to kill – unlike many Muslim religious leaders in Britain.  Yet the BBC never has them on to frown at them.

Islam is placed above all others once again. And I blame the British Government as much as the BBC today.  Dhimmitude on display.

When will the BBC have a discussion about why Muslims receive this special treatment?  Back when Jones was in the news the first time (Note to biased Today producers:  he didn’t cause the fuss – you media morons did by freaking out about it), the Beeboids twisted themselves into knots trying to avoid saying that Mohammedans were a bunch of babies and needed to grow up.  At most, Huw Edwards once asked a Muslim guest why the reaction of his co-religionists was “less nuanced” than most would have liked.

The BBC’s coverage of the entire affair does not aid Social Cohesion, or contribute to anyone’s understanding of anything.  It’s a joke.  And so is Call Me Dhimmi Dave and his foolish Home Secretary.

I say again: Jones has done nothing.  Thoughts are not a crime.  He is banned from the UK for expressing a thought which harms no one.  The only violence which could possibly be inspired by his thoughts would be violence perpetrated by Muslims.  The BBC wouldn’t dare admit it, so they do this instead.

Will Humphrys be scolding every single edgy comedian on Radio 4 next time they say religion is stupid or the usual attempts at humor?  No.  Double standards and bias at the BBC.

      David P,
      Quite right.
I wonder if a US muslim who threatened to burn the Bible would get a UK visa ?  Well we know the answer to that.
Also agree the coalition are really no better than the last lot.
It is amazing watching a whole culture committing suicide in the stupid belief that appeasement works.
The problem is that these morons are dragging the rest of us down with them.

Never mind, I didn’t read your comment properly. Didn’t see the US Muslim bit. What I was getting at is that there are thousands of people threatening to burn the bible, kill infidels, and a lot more besides, and they’re UK citizens. They’re already here.

      Spot on David.

You get banned from the UK for NOT burning a koran and better yet meeting representatives of the muslim hostile colonists in the US and still the UK bans you from entry.

On the other hand any islamist hate merchant can waltz in after and after a few weasel words with fingers firmly crossed and hey presto you are on the UK government payroll.

Different strokes for different folks, its equality Jim but not as we know it! A crazy f*cked up perverted world we live in for sure.

I took it there was a certain element of irony in Grant’s post, used to make a point. It’s like saying “How stupid of me. I should have said I was a Muslim when applying for a visa”. Doesn’t mean I actually think I am a stupid person or even that what I did was in fact stupid. I’ve said it for effect, to heighten a point.  Anyway, that was my reading of it.

Fair point Millie, but a \sarc sign would’ve helped I think!  If Grant reads this, please let me know that you were being sarcastic/ironic and if you were please accept my apologies for jumping on you. If not, then you deserved it!  😀

Jacqui Smith also banned talk radio host Michael Savage from coming here too as I remember. He may not be everyone’s cup of tea, I prefer Mark Levin personally, but it just shows how similar and afraid these successive UK governments have been and are of truly free speech and opinions.

    • London Calling says:

Right, I remember the Michael Savage ban. Claimed he had no intention of visiting the UK anyway? You see the same pattern – ban someone “right wing” to put a stone in your pocket when it comes to being accused of being right wing. Rev Terry is expendible.

But appeasement of the left simply does not and cannot work. The Left  hate Tories anyway, its what defines them, however Tories bend over backwards to appease.

Somewhere in this “banning right-wing extremists” is a Sir Humphrey, who is nowhere near as clever as he thinks he is, as we can see right through him. Londonistan is full of Muslim extremists so extreme they cannot be deported to their home arab countries because they might come to harm at the hands of other non-extremist Muslims.

Whatever happened to the Great Repeal Bill of 12 years of Socialism ,the ending the perverse anti-human human rights perversity? Nothing. Our Dave is a conman, like all his Labour predecessors.

I’m sick to death of muslim sensibilities. Twenty Four hours a day, seven days a week we are “reminded” by the state broadcaster that some muslim doesn’t like this or doesn’t like that, or somehow he is offended by the very people who populate these islands.

Well, I am deeply offended to see the freedoms which have been won through blood and tears being taken from us by making free speech a criminal offence. The BBC are at the forefront of taken offence for anyone but the nation which bears its name.

Paster Jones was banned for criticising islam not for inciting violence. Free speech is no longer allowed in Britain unless you happen to suppot these people:
