CONVENIENT LIES

The BBC’s assiduous cultivation of ecowackery is one of its key reasons to exist, and a Biased BBC reader notes;

Phil Jones, July 5, 2005:
“The scientific community would come down on me in no uncertain terms if I said the world had cooled from 1998. Okay it has but it is only seven years of data and it isn’t statistically
significant.”

Tim, Chris,
I hope you’re not right about the lack of warming lasting
till about 2020. I’d rather hoped to see the earlier Met Office
press release with Doug’s paper that said something like –
half the years to 2014 would exceed the warmest year currently on record, 1998!
Still a way to go before 2014…..it would be nice to wear their(sceptics) smug grins away.

and of course let’s not forget one of Jones’ colleagues at the UEA…..Mike Hulme is a professor of Climate Change in the School of Environmental Sciences at the University of East Anglia (UEA).

 Some quotes from Mike Hulme:

‘The idea of climate change should be seen as an intellectual resource around which our collective and personal identities and projects can form and take shape. We need to ask not what we can do for climate change, but to ask what climate change can do for us.
……
Because the idea of climate change is so plastic, it can be deployed across many of our human projects and can serve many of our psychological, ethical, and spiritual needs.
…….
We will continue to create and tell new stories about climate change and mobilize them in support of our projects.
…….
These myths transcend the scientific categories of ‘true’ and ‘false’.’

Remember – impartiality is in their genes!

David, I hadn’t read this before. Mr Jones really is a PoS, isn’t he?

I follow WattsUpWithThat,  ClimateAudit and the UK’s BishopHill blog – but I have not seen that quote by the discredited Professor.   I hope those other sites get to see a copy.

It shows how much to distrust the recent Richard Black puff piece.

He actually wants their prediction of disasters to come true!!!  Why, what’s more important than the welfare of the planet?

Jones is still around now because politicians need him. In any other branch of science he would be ignored.

Eventually his politician friends will desert him (politicians are only loyal to themselves) and Jones will go down as being the most dishonest “scientist”, along with his friends in CRU, in the history of science.

Almost unbeleivable but these chilling words really demonstartes what the lefties are up to.

From Radio 4Extra (Radio7) today,  a repeat of a 2007 edition of Down the Line – seeming to take the piss out of global warming.  Pity the BBC has got even more obsessed with the subject since then.

Is this for real?  Did Jones really say that seven years of cooling wasn’t statisically significant, while we all know he thinks that 10 years of “warming” is?  That’s why they pushed the damn hockey-stick.  If he really said this, he should hand in his science degree on the way out the door.
