CORPORATE WHORES

Many BBC presenters not only deliver their masters’ Pravda-style pronouncements about climate change, the EU, the middle-east and immigration, they are also – it seems – corporate whores, available to hire from anyone who will stump up the fees of £5,000+ that are the going rate for their services. The Mail on Sunday reveals today that not only that – and despite their right-on trendy liberalism – they will work even for arms dealers if the cash is right, as well as for their favourite peddlers of climate lies such as KPMG.

Prominent among these fee-guzzlers is, of course, the BBC’s environment “analyst”, Roger Harrabin. whose credentials are oleagenously paraded here. The Steve Jones’s report has no doubt given him the licence to push his services even harder, but I note that he’s already as busy as ever. In June, for example, he chaired the “UK energy summit”, at which a key question was:

It is not easy to persuade consumers to do things that are inconvenient or selfless. How can energy companies get their customers to use less energy and accept rising energy costs? The panel will reveal how it is possible to persuade people to want to do things that are not easy or convenient.

Our Roger was also recently at the guest speaker at the green Bromley awards (no task too small?)and in February, he was at Jesus College Cambridge as a guest speaker at a climate change history group.
I have nothing against people making money for their skills. But in Mr Harrabin’s case, his BBC platform is used to spread climate change propaganda. In turn, this is the bait that will lead climate change fanatics who want to hear such messages to hire him.

Do you see what the real problem is with that statement? How to get customers to use less energy WHILE prices go up?

Sure, us consumers will use less energy BUT we will still be paying the same amount of money as we were before. Only difference is now we will be paying more for less!

Besides, if I was DG of al beeb I would be damn well making sure ALL BBC staff have NO other jobs outside of the BBC!

That way the integrity and impartiality of the BBC will be protected because NO ONE will have any outside influences affecting their jobs.

Sadly though Im not the DG and the reality is the BBC answers to no one but its own, bloated, self.

But that IS his skill: he is clearly out of his depth debate and science wise, it is the propaganda arts where he excels (not sure that without the power of the Beeb he’d be anything at all).

    P.S. “Oleaginous”…love it!

“How to make people do things that they do not wish to do”.  There has been a lot of that going around for years, Hitler, Napoleon, Stalin and the rest of the totalitarian scum.  But, remember all our politicians, these things come to an end one way or the other.  When people die due to the green creed espioused by Cameron and Huhne will not people then notice?  Sounds remarkably like that catch all crime…Corporate manslaughter!

As he is hosting events for energy companies wanting to know how to extract more money from captive customers, here’s another Beeboid on the corporate circuit, chairing events for companies.

Looked briefy at Harrabins credentials should we want him to facilitate the conference!
Didn`t see what exactly his scientific credentials were though!
Are we talking Dineage( who knows what we need to know!)…or Nutt( who thinks that riding a horse is more dangerous than drug taking!)
Guess which one the BBC seem keen to keep on asking about science?

“..100 years ago the laws of Newtonian physics were suddenly swept aside by Einstein, relativity and quantum mechanics.”

Exactly. How can Jones shut down any debate on AGW if he calls himself a scientist. Either he is a shallow man or he is being swayed by the massive amounts of cash handed out to people who tow the “consnsus” line by our kamakazi politicians. As I have said on another thread, anyone who uses such political and insulting language in a report is not a scientist .

There should be a caveat inserted at the end of the report to the effect that these are his views as a socialist and not as a scientist.

“Jones’ recent political activity includes campaigning for the abolition of private schools and against a visit to Britain by the Pope.”

      From my link above

“Many Conservative MPs – I’ve spoken to several – are itching to abolish the BBC Trust. The body’s unquestioning acceptance of Dr Jones’ breezy report may have given them all the ammunition they need”

      …views as a socialist and not a scientist…

In this he reminds me of the Archbishop of Canterbury, allowing his party political affiliation to overcome his judgement.

He comes across as a bit of a bigot re schools and the Pope’s visit.
