SITE UPDATE

Hi All. I wanted to say that we are working away behind the scenes to provide you with a new and improved Biased BBC site. I have noted various comments left in Open Threads etc and we will endeavour to do what meets with maximum approval although on these matters it it impossible to please everyone! Please bear with us – the next week or so should see the site migrate to a new home we want some design changes made and of course the commenting system improved. So, stick with us, it may look quiet but it’s not!

Meanwhile, is it possible to import comments from the “other B-BBC site” ?
I ask because they mostly relate to my last three posts.

I would suggest everybody continues to use this URL http://biasedbbc.tv using where necessary the “ncr” workaround.

However as most commentors are in the UK it seems they prefer to allow themselves to be redirected and use the blogspot.co.uk URL

      Confusing…

sue, unfortunately since this is essentially the same blogsite but with different domains, I think the comments are screwed for now, even though Google claimed there would be no noticeable difference. The comments have unique URLs and are domain-specific. I have no idea if that’s a js-kit/Echo thing or all Blogger sites are similarly screwed regardless of the comments format. Once a new site is created – hopefully in a better platform like WordPress – comments should in theory get exported along with all posts.

The “NCR” work around, doesn’t seem to work for me in France (already E mailed all-seeing eye).

Consequently, most of others’ comments are invisible to me.

Very quirky, so I shall be pleased when thois site eventually is re-hosted.

      http://biasedbbc.tv/ncr/ doesn’t work?

      Odd.

Can I ask what is doubtless a silly question?  If the ncr workaround doesn’t work for you, how did you get here to make that comment?  As far as I can tell, the comments at the “.co.uk” and “.com” sites are entirely separate and I had assumed it would be like that for all countries.

I found that I only had to use “ncr” once.  Now it automatically heads for “.com”.

Well, I can only say that it’s hit and miss – comment numbers dried up for me for two days, and I still can’t see many that I knew were there before, particularly on the Open threads.  So you tell me – I’m flummoxed, but I can post, it seems, today.

Natsman, are you able to get to the .co.uk version at all? Most people are commenting there rather than here. All the UK residents, I guess. For some reason I seem to be able to see both without the ncr or other tricks. I got redirected to .co.uk the other day for some reason (it may have been while my IP was protected), and didn’t even realize it at first, until I went to my bookmark and saw the difference.

I seem only to have the .com access (with ncr added).  I’ll try co.uk

              Ditto.

Last night, after a few weeks unable to see, or comment, I got it all back.

No idea what I did right, or wrong.

This morning…. fun & games again. Mainly wrong.

The .com plus ncr seems to have done the trick (from sunny West Midlands), but the spinning pizza of death for a good few minutes before anything appeared was not encouraging.

So… ‘something’ worked, at least for me (I always thought the ‘MySite (cte)’ imposition was a warning of worse to come, and so it was), then it was fixed, and now it has been re-fixed.

In case it’s a case of ‘and it’s goodnight from him’, again, I’ll miss you all!

I still seem to be bounced between two seperate parallel B-BBC comment universes. Which is the real one? Are we forever divided, or will we come back together at some stage?
