A B-BBC reader notes;
“Read the BBCs blurb for the film Arlington Road showing on BBC 1 tonight. :-
“Conspiracy thriller about a college professor who is prompted to research extreme right-wing groups after his wife is killed in a bungled FBI anti-terrorist operation. When the strange behaviour of his new neighbours leads him to suspect them of being terrorists, he is unsure whether he is being paranoid due to the stress of losing his wife or if something really is terribly wrong.”
I’ve search every description of the films plot that i can find, & the BBCs version is the only one that includes the phrase ‘extreme right-wing groups’
…strange.”
Maybe they got it of that bastion of Communist thinking The Daily Mail:

But didn’t Tom Cruise kill Tim Robbins for being a right wing extremist in ‘The War of the Worlds’?
Thank you Nicked Emus for providing proof that the eagle eyed B-BBC reader in question had miscued on this occasion.
As the BBC are not wont to say “I think we just about got it wrong”.

Everyone makes mistakes. I had to swallow a large slice of humble pie just recently on this very site …

It’s just another case of the BBC trying to lead us by the nose to reach certain conclusions – pity they don’t do the same when reporting on Muslim child molesters.

I’m sure you’re worrying too much, David. These neighbours will probably turn out to be Muslim extremists.

Yes, but right wing Muslim extremists.

I think I’ll take the first exit just before the program starts!

It is actually quite a good film and IIRC they are ‘right-wing’ of the Omaha Bomber variety. Pity the BBC gives the plot away …
But it is Hollywood so of course they are ‘right-wing’ – the very idea that a homegrown leftist could commit violence is verbotten in Tinsel Town..
