MONDAY OPEN THREAD

Morning all. I’m broken hearted to read that political giant Sarah Teather is to stand down and was pleased to hear BBC Today run a glowing political obituary for the hamster faced one. It appears one of her “proudest” moments was getting a “British” constituent out of Guantanamo Bay. She will be missed…!! Anyhow, here is a brand new and one time OPEN THREAD for you all to enjoy. Now off you go ..detail the bias!

Somebody tell me when the BBC mentions this Guardian headline on an upcoming What the Papers Say segment:

US consulate attack in Benghazi: a challenge to official version of events

A year after the first US ambassador in 33 years was killed on duty, Chris Stephen, one of the first western reporters on the scene in Benghazi, pieces together what really happened from witness accounts, official reports, and the ruins of the compound

Last time the BBC dared address this, Mardell was saying that he and all right-thinking people thought it was a non-story, and that it was difficult to find out any facts because the wrong sort of people were talking about it.

A reminder that the first installment of Mark Mardell’s special documentary about how closely intertwined the US’s fate is with China will be broadcast tonight on Radio 4.

Tune in to hear his legendary insight and world-class political analysis.

Another example (one of many many) where the droid is told at his annual review,

‘we can’t increase your salary by very much but how’s about you make us a a few wink wink programmes in interesting parts of the world. Five star all the way and front of the plane’.

Mardell’s a high-profile titled editor. He’s probably well compensated in comparison to producers and online editors and cameramen. The average hard-working Beeboid who actually has to maintain a semblance of impartiality probably does get shorted in favor of sending Mardell around the country, looking for racists under the bed, vinaigrette always at the ready when moving amongst the unwashed.

If there is one thing you can absolutely rely on amongst middle class Leftists is their contempt for the lower orders.

    Loving Ed’s work…

This is where Ed M shines. Answering people's questions. I saw him do this before he was leader at the people's History museum.— Claire Thompson (@Claire_tea) September 10, 2013

    and hating Ed’s critics…

At what point is Ed M going to hit back at the back street drivers? If I read once more, *** has some advice for the Lab leader, I'll scream— Claire Thompson (@Claire_tea) August 19, 2013

That’s 5 Live News Producer Claire Thompson. I’m sure she meant ‘backseat’ rather than ‘back street.’ I guess her anger at Ed’s critics may have caused the typo.

There is far too much negative thought around here. It is time we all rallied round Obama’s War :

    For Beeboids: KENYA and water.

Despite the size of BBC global broadcasting empire in Africa, ITV News seems to have beaten BBC to this report:-

    “Kenya finds huge water reserve”

‘Sky News’ has this, has BBC-NUJ?:-

“Sea Ceptor Missile System To Be Built In UK.
The cutting-edge technology will be able to intercept and destroy enemy missiles and travel at 2,000 miles per hour.”

Nothing to do with bias at the BBC, but I just thought we could all reflect on the following, today:
[It has been 12 years since your passing. I think about you often and I miss you. You did not deserve the fate you were given. You were, like many others, just simply showing up for work that day; trying to make an honest living & to provide for your family. Rest in peace my friend.]
