Outfoxed By Their Own Smug Cleverness

Today leapt upon a stupid mistake in a Fox News interview (17 mins 15 secs) when a ‘terrorism expert’ claimed Birmingham was a no-go area for non-Muslims.

Following the terror attacks in France, Fox News interviewed Steve Emerson, who describes himself as a “terrorism expert”. During the interview, Mr Emerson claimed that Birmingham is “totally Muslim” and non-Muslims “simply don’t go in” to the city. This resulted in a comic backlash on Twitter, with users expressing their outrage and disbelief at Mr Emerson’s words. People began tweeting satirical comments about an Islamic Birmingham / Britain, using the hashtag #foxnewsfacts. Emerson later apologised for the gaffe.

Emerson said he had relied upon sources of information that proved wrong.

Of course if this had been on one of the liberal TV news stations in the US nothing would have been said.

Hilariously Naughtie told us that BBC comedian (apparently they exist) Mitch Benn, from the Fast Show, had tweeted something rather funny about this.

Trouble is, Benn is from the Now Show.

Guess everyone can get things wrong occasionally.

Islam being the religion of peace you understand, or so the BBC keeps reporting.

Unfortunately Emerson is far closer to the truth than Naughty, who should spend an evening in Birmingham sometime to educate himself. I notice they never contested any of the rest of Mr Emerson’s speech, which lasted a good few minutes.

Can you explain why you think there is any obligation on Glasgow City Council (the employer) to divulge any information on their employees?
Whilst Glasgow City Council has said it will not divulge the names that does not mean that others (Police Scotland, Procurator Fiscal), subsequent to the completion of their investigations, will not.

Surely there will be a coroner’s enquiry into the deaths at which point the driver’s name must be mentioned. The Police must also know his name so I don’t see how the council can keep it quiet? Perhaps you could explain this please?

            Really quite easy.
They have no obligation to do so especially as the matter is subject to a Police investigation.
Now perhaps you can explain why you think they should?

It was happening in France at the same time, where people were being deliberately targeted by Muslim fanatics….driving cars and vans into them in the hope of killing or injuring them.
…..since the public no longer trust what the police say….given they arrested men who complained their own daughters were being groomed by Muslims, it would be understandable if more information was released including the mans name.
not compulsory as you point out….but do the police with-hold all the names of people subject to an investigation? perhaps you should tell that to Mark Prichard.

I can only repeat what I said yesterday in response to Guest Who:

Let us consider all those involved in this incident:
                # UK Government
                # Scottish Government
                # Police Scotland
                # Scottish Ambulance Service
                # Scottish Fire and Rescue Service
                # NH S Scotland
                # Glasgow City Council
                # The families of those killed and injured
                # The relatives, friends and colleagues of the Council employees
                # All those who have provided evidence and witnesses statements
                # All those who in the immediate aftermath provided comments to the media.

If this is anything other than a tragic accident do you really think the “establishment” could suppress evidence from all those who have been directly or indirectly involved.

‘I can only repeat what I said yesterday’

Sadly, repetition of a more ‘tell it often enough’ calibre.

Gratified as one might be that you took and have again taken time from your busy schedule to chip in, it is a pity it was earlier more to further articulate your failures in comprehension on this site, as opposed to sharing your thoughts on, say, the reporting of Mr. Wilcox on a more topical thread.

But here, and just here again, you have alighted, appearing faithfully to repromote the notion of no questions need asking (whilst posing your own), especially by media, and certainly in matters of accident, involving public vehicles, too soon, if at all, or when court actions may be ongoing. Astounding uncuriosity by the BBC is one thing; active monitoring and interception of flagged topics an oddly common occurrence.

Especially when all some seek is maybe timely relevant information, and consistency.

10 Dec 2014 – “A teenage boy who died following a crash involving a school minibus has been named as Ashley Daniel Talbot….

11 Dec 2014 – ‘Investigations are continuing into the minibus crash at a school which left a 15-year-old pupil dead and another one injured.

11 Dec 2014 – ‘PE teacher Chris Brooks, who was driving the minibus’

Hence beyond the family of the poor victim (maybe not the uncle) one can only empathise with driver here, so soon named, with testimony of so many shared by the BBC, so soon after the event.

“South Wales Police officers were at the school to speak to witnesses before lessons began on Thursday.”

“The school said it was co-operating with the police investigation and the Health and Safety Executive had been informed.”

                  Clearly a different time.

I am not saying I have any idea what happened in Glasgow, because I don’t know. Well, beyond some very prompt reassurances of what did not. I simply share the confusion of some as to why so much remains ‘don’t ask; don’t tell’ in this case, when clearly it is not a policy applied evenly.

Maybe the Welsh Editorial Guidelines are different, or are also out of date?

Well yes, the establishment can suppress the reporting of such an incident. It simply issues a DA Notice on the media. Legal culpability on behalf of the council may be the consideration here and most things that happen are due to cock-ups rather than conspiracies. But the establishment has undoubtedly contributed to the speculation and rumours by failure to provide a modicum of factual information in sufficient detail to disperse them.

By all means repeat it! The point remains, the lorry crashed at the same time Muslim fanatics were targeting innocent members of the public suing vehicles (cars and vans) to kill, injure or maim them…
…It is not inconceivable to expect that when a similar event happens….like one did in Glasgow, a vehicle hitting members of the public that as much information be given. That would be “in the public interest”.. just like the Cliff Richard story which involved no-one except Cliff Richard and an alleged victim was deemed “in the public interest.
The establishment has a history of covering up events, they put two BNP leaders on trial when they exposed the Muslim grooming scandal, enabling it to continue for another 12 years, they have suppressed the Whitehall pedophile scandal for decades, and cannot find an “untainted” member of the establishment to oversea an public inquiry.
The BBC covered up the pedophile actions of its own employees for decades….The BBC made some of its pedophile employees and sex offenders “millionaires” and gave others lucrative careers…
…still would…and Butler Scloss would still be heading up the pedophile inquiry despite the fact her brother was allegedly connected, in allegedly suppressing an inquiry 30 years ago.
                  But save one thing……….
…Now we get to know most things all because of this….. “Interweb” thingy!
Back to the point, one HAS to question the lack of information….even if it is not “terrorist” related, there must be something else!!!

There has been a stunning lack of story on the Glasgow bin tragedy. Normally you would expect a paper to run a story with someone involved in the incident, but no nothing. It’s all very well stating how many people would be involved in a cover up. But how many were involved in the Asians of pakistani origin pedo cases. Social services, the police the media and the family’s yet the story was suppressed for years anyone spreading the truth was decried as a racist. How many stories I seen in the news just vanish never to be mentioned at all. Whilst I am sceptical about conspiracy theories why such a complete lack of information on a story that coincided with other incidents if only to stop a conspiracy developing around it.

Glad I’m not the only one who is puzzled by the lack of information about the bin lorry drivers identity.I can’t think of a similar case in my lifetime. Also curious about the lack of interest by the newspapers.

Early reports said the driver was slumped over the wheel, but I haven’t seen anyone directly quoted to substantiate that. The report just seemed to ‘appear’ out of nowhere.

Also curious as to how a seemingly unconscious driver can drive for 300 yards along a pavement. Takes some skill in my opinion.

Perhaps Fox made the mistake of copying the BBC by reporting the news in advance, (“The BBC has learnt that Ed Miliband will say that…”).

If their story isn’t right just now it will be right soon.

“The disclosures were made by researchers at Manchester University who said it is expected that the number of whites in Birmingham will drop by nearly a fifth over the next 20 years – from 65 per cent in 2006 to 48 per cent in 2026.
Meanwhile, the number of Pakistanis in the city will increase from 13 per cent in 2006 to 48 per cent in 2026.

Some ‘experts’ argue that immigrants eventually disperse into the wider community. However people who are considering ‘moving on’ don’t join two houses together or build extensions to the side, rear and back, a common practice within Birmingham’s ‘asian’ communities.
We can only hope that the new detached provinces of Pakistan will be as welcoming to British ‘visitors’ as the former occupiers of these lands were urged/required to be.
Treacherous idiots like Owen Jones describe Muslims as the ‘new Jews’, just ripe to be exterminated by the Left’s bogie-persons, the mythical ‘far-right’ that will spontaneously come into existence if ‘extremists’ (i.e. UKIP, Labour core voters, little old ladies etc.) aren’t kept in check. If anything the ‘new jews’ are the former residents of the UK – a people without a home, forever doomed to move from country to country, hated and reviled by all.

No guidelines were hurt in the making of this latest shambles. Maybe they should ‘lose/problem/error’ this page too?

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/editorialguidelines/page/guidance-live-output-full

Mind you, if they did, there would soon be no guidelines to ignore/hide behind, and the BBC’s top talents may feel a wee bit professionally exposed.

How fortunate that BBC watch was on hand to do the BBC ECU/Trust’s job for them.

Radio 4’s PM is having a go at the poor man again [17:30].
Perhaps Fox will follow the BBC’s lead and pick up on all the BBC’s slight errors of fact? Or perhaps they only bother with news stories of real interest to their audience?

It`s not as if the BBCs exaggerations, race baiting and stirring around Ferguson, Florida and Michegan haven`t been grotesque caricatures of what actually took place.
The BBC lies over the USA as and when it suits-and unlike Emerson, theirs is part of the EU agenda, deliberately done to set us all up for the halal slaughterhouse, the Mexicali liberal fantasies of gates round Islington, necklace burnings round Kings Cross.
Emerson also said sorry ,and sought no enquiry to blame the minions…maybe the BBC could learn-they`ve learned nothing since Savile, let alone given an apology.
Maybe we should all send £72.75 to Childline,,,and keep the rest until we starve the BBC into hells spittoon, where it belongs.
Emerson certainly stiffs the likes of Mardell and Crick…but then so does Helen Kellers draught excluder.

The BBC’s continuing animosity towards Fox – and the Daily Mail, for that matter – whether expressed in news or ‘comedy’ programmes (including HIGNFY), only serves to exaggerate its own leftist credentials.

Steven Emerson is only guilty of degree-in the basics, he is correct.
Tower Hamlets, Trojan Horse, Rahman…the fiascos over Danish cartoons, poppy-burnings at Wootton Bassett?
No, sorry he`s right in the fundamentals…whether Leicester and Birningham in 2045 or 2050 might get the BBCs hijab in a twist…but we all know how this is going to go.
Unless the likes of the BBC are first dispatched to Islam….they`re so easily bought, so stupid that it ought not to be a problem.

Fox news gets its facts wrong for one UK city but alarmingly is halfway true for another: Leicester City is now only 50% white British.

I bet Mitch Benn didn’t mention that little fact?

Let’s be honest, there are numerous towns and cities in the UK that are no go zones for non Muslims, especially white women, it’s a fact. Why can’t the bbbc ,supposedly the purveyors of truth, use their considerable resources to do an in depth investigation of Muslim grooming gangs, election rigging , fgn, forced marriages ,tax avoidance, muslim patrol, the list goes on? I’m pretty sure that it points to a sick liberal bias, and I am also sure that they shall live to regret their idiotic , immature , point scoring sensibilities.

How many of these bbbc reporters let their 14 yr old daughters hang around in tower hamlets of an evening? With a couple of bottles of alcopops and wearing the latest teen fashion?

I reckon a few of the male presenters hang around Tower Hamlets in short dresses drinking alcopops, during their leisure time.

Just watched Clive Myrie on the BBC News Channel try to crucify the guy. The victim finally groaned ‘….if you want to squeeze some more blood out of me, but there’s not much left.’

The basis for the leg-slapping amusement of the BBC elite seems to be that Birmingham is a wonderful place. Funny then, to read of this interview that Myrie did 18 months ago:

    15 Minutes of Infamy?

‘Sylvia Emenike left her home in Birmingham for some years but when she came back to Birmingham things had changed drastically.

Sylvia: ‘Where once there had been a predominant sense of a West Indian community that had changed….now there was a predominance of Asians.

Not only that…there was a sort of aura of secrecy…when people could only talk about our problems interacting with the Asian community privately, nobody was willing to speak out, nobody was willing to talk publicly about it and there was this fear if you like, that makes me feel uncomfortable because it feels as if there’s a sort of underlying cauldron of social ills or conflicts.’

She gives an example of Asian shopkeepers deliberately short changing Black people…so often that it couldn’t be a mistake….she said the Asians assumed that the Blacks weren’t well educated or ‘together’ and were an easy target.

Clive Myrie says: ‘It doesn’t sound like you like Asians.’

Sylvia starts to deny that…‘No…’ ‘

Myrie must have a poor memory.

ITN News at Ten did a piece on this in which they mocked the American calling Birmingham muslim.

The ITN reporter was smug Rageh Omaar, an effnik Somalian muslim, kinda proves the Americans point.

Is this attempted mockery of Fox News not just a tit-for-tat response by the BBC to Fox News’ Megyn Kelly reporting of Tim Wilcox’s appalling antisemitic remarks at the Paris march this weekend?

And, as I have commented elsewhere, at least Fox News used Ayaan Hirsi Ali to talk about radical Islam this weekend rather than the white, liberal professor “of Islam in the modern world” from an Australian university used by the BBC. The good professor told us that the Islamists represent “the fringe of the fringe” in the Islamic world (which would go down well with BBC types), whilst Hirsi Ali on Fox, an apostate from Islam, said that the Islamic world needs some “tough love” in order to face up to reality, and that western liberals need to stop feeling sorry for Muslims. I hope the BBC types were watching Fox News when Hirsi Ali spoke.
