I do wish Nigel Farage would just invite everyone round his local, hire the upstairs room and they could thrash it out of a Saturday afternoon session.
Did you know that available on BBC i-player are over 500 editions of the Radio 4 show In Our Time – containing discussion on topics from history, culture, art, science, philosophy, literature – all these shows hosted, chaired and steered by Melvyn Bragg. All of these 100s of hours paid for through the regressive compulsory licence fee and presented and delivered with a uniformly left-liberal multicultural globalist soft-marxian world view.
Now Labour Lord Headcold of the Lake District gets up in the House of Lords (£300 a day) and first tells us he voted Remain.
Ok that’s his democratic right and I’m pleased that he shows his colours – the BBC ought to report the political views of their arts/culture/political/news presenters (perhaps he’s not an employee perhaps he runs a service company?)
But Bragg goes on that he now feels he’s a minority ‘bullied and beleagured’ moreover he reckons he’s been ‘effectively gagged’
Over 500 hours hosting and chairing discussions on a very broad range of topics with countless opportunities to slip in his opinion, nudge the discussion in a particular direction etc etc – and he feels gagged!!!
As a bit of a history buff I listened to it occasionally in the past, until I realised it was basically left-wing history, with dull as ditchwater left-wing academics taking all the fun out of it! Last time I caught an episode I thought Melvyn was getting senile.
In Our Time is ok, ocasionally but I only listen to about half of them.
A *far* better podcast for history is Hardcore History by Dan Carlin. They’re very long but astoundingly good.
For more general topics, I quite like the Hound Tall Discussion Series with Moshe Kasher. He’s a comedian (and co-writer with Dave Chapelle) and it’s essentially In Our Time but in a comedy theater.
I can also vouch for Dan Carlin’s Hardcore History – in a better world the BBC would put Lord Bragg out to grass and snap up the likes of Carlin and put him on our airwaves.
I too was a once a fan of In Our Time. Even now it is one of the least badly altered of Radio 4 shows. Most of which now seem aimed only to please a tiny audience of feminist studies graduates and human rights lawyers.
Even In Our Time are increasingly skewing toward discussion of obscure Victorian female hack writers, bizarre Indian goddesses and the inevitable medieval Islamic scholars.
I now only listen to “In Our Time” when a science ( a proper science not A.G.W.) or mathematics subject is discussed. Bragg’s ignorance of these is outstanding and he quite often make a prick of himself. Far too much obscure feminist claptrap is discussed nowadays. Thanks for the tip regarding Dan Carlin. I most certainly will give him a try and subscribe to his podcast.
Actually it’s CAGW
Never let them get away with the fact that they promised us
Catastrophic Global Warming
..any other kind just equals “a bit warmer weather”
The liberal left have always adopted the tactic of accusing their opponents of the sin of which they themselves are guilty.
So, they victimise others while protesting themselves to be the victims.
They engage in street violence while calling the opposition fascists.
They assert their right to free expression against intolerance while shouting down anyone who exercises this right.
They say their opponents are ill-educated, misguided and ill-informed while despising high culture and destroying education.
They accuse their opponents of being “simplistic” while relying on slogans instead of rational argument.
They lay claim to scientific truth while denying the duty of every scientist to be sceptical.
I could go on.
Pathologically honest and naive as I am, I have for too long taken these liars at their word. Never again! To the condescending classes: I’ve had enough. Go **** yourselves, the lot of you.
Psychological projection is a theory in psychology in which humans defend themselves against their own unconscious impulses or qualities (both positive and negative) by denying their existence in themselves while attributing them to others.
We’ve had some fruitful discussions about this on here. An interesting slant on the madness of the Illiberal Left!
Does that mean I’m a Muzza who wants more immigration and loves Jeremy Corbyn. And wants to have a sex change so I can have a gay clinch with Dianne Abbot?
£300 a day and that’s just expenses and there’s a poor old boy I know well into his seventies gets called into his local department of work and pensions office because he’s getting £4pw council tax benefit and didn’t tell them he had a £1,000 lump sum payment from a pension he’d forgotten about and never claimed but was traced by the insurance company and led to believe all the interested parties would automatically be informed. Not only did the poor old guy have to take all his bank statements, bills and other forms they deemed relevant, he also had to swear he done no work since March 2016 and he’s not been in full time education, can you believe that. So this poor old man was left feeling like a criminal, stressed out and confused. You’d laugh if it wasn’t so bloody stupid and then you read about politicians, lords and BBC executives getting paid ridiculous amounts of money, for what taking the piss.
I see that the remoaners of Bedfordshire were well represented on Questiontime last night. The comment from the woman about who would keep Pret a Manger staffed up if the non-British EU nationals couldn’t stay here, was priceless . I didn’t hear a single one of these people speak up for Britons living in the EU. Naturally, the guy who repeated Norman Tebbit’s description of non- British citizens as foreigners drew gasps of shock and disapproval.
I remember years ago Paddy Braindown had a go at someone for using the word “foreigner”, his face full of feigned disgust – but he was immediately put back in his box by a sensible conservative who said that he, himself, was a foreigner when he went to France. There is nothing perjorative about the word, it is a normal, neutral description of someone in a country other than their own.
If I’d been on the show, I would have referred to them as ‘aliens’ !!!! Dear God, what are we coming to when being called a foreigner brings forth gasps of horror ? – what in hell’s name are we supposed to call them then ? permanent tourists?
This fannying about with acceptable terms of description is getting beyond the pale. At my time in the NHS I remember the edict at the change of ‘patient’ to ‘service user’ – WTF ???? you could hear the laughs all around the hospital, but hey what do we know !
They are probably under the false impression that expats who live in Spain, Portugal etc. are somehow wealthy. In reality most have gone to live there because
a) Property and cost of living is cheaper than most parts of the UK
b) the UK has been turned into a fµcking sh!thole by a sub-culture of benefit scroungers, muslim ghettos and politically correct crackpots who have forced white, tax-paying families to the bottom of the pile.
If you’re wondering why your local school has no money it might be because they are forced to spend money on new toilets for people who can’t make their mind up whether they are Arthur or Martha or sending the staff on a libfest course to learn more about being trans-sexual or pan-sexual or whatever PC bollox they have dreamed up this week. If you are wondering why your local hospital has no money or your operation is cancelled then ask why the NHS is funding gender transitioning operations?
I have always maintained there is only one correct way of determining gender and that is the tried and trusted Crocodile Dundee method.
I moved to France ten years ago because of a). and b).
I shall be staying whether or not Brexit actually occurs, and especially if Frexit happens.
I shall see out my days, here – it ain’t cheap, any more, but it’s comfortable, quiet (around here, anyway), the few neighbours I have are Caucasian Europeans, and friendly, the roads are clear, the parking’s free, and the countryside is wonderful, in an unspoiled sort of way.
Agree with you OG , we started to plan our move to South of France over ten years ago and moved in 2014 . We had no belief that a referendum would occur and just wanted away from the dregs and dross in the UK as it was breaking our hearts and raising our blood pressure. We also will stay come what may as we love the area where we live and love the people, food and wine, lol .
We are working in the US. It was a big somewhat risky decision, and I miss the UK. But we really felt that it would be best to get the family out while we could. What a sad state of affairs!
Its lovely to connect and be ‘as one’ with the ‘international contingent’ on this site, and I suspect the rest of us are quite envious. I can only claim to being on the A1 corridor (South end)with the ever present threat of a Traveller’s site – decreed by the authorities from reclaimed land !
Seconded Brissles.
I learn lots from out OWN Foreign Correspondents here. Gambia, France, USA, Australia, Spain and Greece come to mind-but know there`s more.
Really important all this experience-as well as the expertise of our climate change wonks, military “expats” etc.
The angels are in the detail, I find…and this alternative UN service is the REAL service to the world.
The BBC want global reach-we ought by now to have been dripping the paraquat into places that shrivel the cultural hogweed that is the BBC.
But we`re not yet fit to look the Americans in the eye until we`ve scorched the likes of Bercow and Vaz from the airwaves, from their vipers nest in the Commons.
What stops us?…Trump won an election with only comedy and a Twitter feed. Yet we still have pondlife like this that speak for us and to us.
Hardly Churchill is it?
Seismiboy, you have nailed it with a and b. I am totally pissed off as well with the political idiots who ignore the brits abroad, instead cherishing their affections on their cleaners and latte salesman.
That explains why County Wexford in Ireland is nicknamed “Little Britain”. More ex pat George and Mildreds per head than Ted and Dougalls. Very near the ferry port to UK and good weather. I rang a wrong number in Wexford once and was greeted by a Cockney!!
I thought the most northerly Waitrose was Sandbach. that might have changed in the last few years – and now they have some of those mini ones in road services.
There are a few Waitrose in the north but not very many. You might have heard of the old gag ‘What is the point of Sainsburys? To keep the scum out of Waitrose’. Unfortunately up here Sainsburys is as good as it gets so we need Morrisons to cater for the scum!
‘What is the point of Sainsburys? To keep the scum* out of Waitrose’.
The late and very great (and much missed) Alan Coren was responsible for that one on The News Quiz back in the day when a) it was a Quiz b) it was not scripted to the nth degree c) it did not have ‘adjusted’ laughter and d) was a ‘must listen’ at lunchtime repeat, let alone the original broadcast.
* correction: riff raff, not scum.
Dearie me, does this mean I’m some sort of BBC R4 groupie?
Hey BBC , why not do an in depth report about Gramscians investing our civil service , police , courts , teaching profession , universities , media and ….the BBC ?
Nibor, far be it from me to point out typos as I spend 30% more time on-line than necessary trying to correct or edit out my phat phingerside presses but when have the Gramscians ‘invested’ in our civil service, etc, etc? They spend their time leeching from it, feeding constantly and excessively from the unwisely proffered tit of the taxpayer.
When I read your post, I immediately switched ‘investing’ into ‘infecting’ in my mind. Did you mean infecting?
Today on R4 this am. Not enough females in senior mangers at MI5 and intelligence services , only 20% apparently
Mention of when intelligence services went public with name of Head of MI5, in 1994 incidentally a lady, Stella Remmington . One of her first actions was to reduce vigilance on Muslims as she claimed they did not pose a real threat.
Forward to 1998, the year she retired and three Brits and an Australian tourist were kidnapped and murdered in Yemen. Those responsible and another five arrested in Yemen days before the kidnappings were from Birmingham and with known links to Abu Hanzas Supporters of Shariah (SOS) group.
According to their families they were only in Yemen to learn Arabic!
While nasty right wing newspapers seemed all too well aware of what was happening in Birmingham and elsewhere, our intelligence services scaling down of resources and political cowardice contributed to these deaths and many more. I remember the look of shock on the face of Robin Cook, labour Home Sec. when told about it.
Also in 1994, we agreed to reduce Customs controls and tariffs on goods between us and our EU partners. Valerie Strachan, the first female head of Customs & Excise decreed that smuggling of alcohol and tobacco etc. would not amount to more than £50m per annum; this despite the fact that just one team in C&Es Investigation Division had a single case of £80M. Thus staffing levels at ports were reduced. I am sure everyone here will be aware of the sale of illegal cigarettes and alcohol, overwhelming in shops and stores run by EU nationals and Asians, the lost revenue runs into £billions.
There have been several undercover television channel investigations about this, none by the BBC of course.
In both postings, warnings from staff on the front lines are ignored or watered down before they eventually reach senior management; years later the consequences emerge. Incidentally, to those advocating legalization of drugs and taxing them, it will go the same way.
I have no doubt both Strachan and Rimington were highly capable people, but I do seem to recall seeing their names highlighted at conferences and meetings etc. all the time about women and equality. Perhaps too much time away from their real jobs proselytizing to pressure groups is the problem, as it is with gay/lesbian,EMB MPs who are hijacked by these same pressure groups when they should be concentration and listening to their own constituents
Invicta ‘Thus staffing levels at ports were reduced.’
Yes, I remember that. If I recall correctly, the Conservative Government was busy stopping our British sportsmen & women (many Para-Olympians among them) from participating in shooting events by taking away their legally owned, safely & harmlessly used guns and preventing their training, while allowing in a flood of illegal, ex-military weapons, for gangsters, criminals and terrorists to use.
Mad?
Barking! Simply and completely barking mad. So-called ‘finest minds’. So mad, they were completely Essex!
Any organisation worth its salt, whether private or public sector, ought to select the best human resources regardless of sex. This would lead the organisation to success. Certainly a for-profit company would seek to employ the best staff to increase its chances of surviving and growing.
I doubt MI5 would hamstring itself by deliberately excluding females from consideration for employment and promotion if it thought it beneficial. Perhaps MI5 thinks it is not beneficial to its success to have quotas?
Discuss!
IMO doesn’t matter how much you legislate, the employer is always going to be wondering if a woman is going to disappear on maternity leave several weeks after taking up a post.
This is rife in schools – have had two kids passed from teacher to teacher as they go off on m.leave. Also, as the post now has to be held for a year for them to return, replacement teachers are only offered a one year post.
Now on R4 Anti Brexit stuff coming up
”
One of the UK’s leading food fraud experts is warning that a trade deal with the US will result in imports of lower quality food that the British public doesn’t want. Professor Chris Elliott, founder of the Institute for Global Food Security at Queen’s University Belfast, says that a trade deal after Brexit will mean accepting imports of food that is currently not sold in the UK because of current EU regulations. He warns that such foods will be vulnerable to mislabelling and food fraud.”
I think US food is healthier cos customers always get $10m for tiny mistakes.
More on this story
“A British “migrant” story, following the wishes of the part time crisp salesman, and Lily Allen, the narrative of the Al BBC/Westminster yep! … should have all the requirements for copious BBC Headlines?
… Kind hearted woman opened home to Muslim “12 yr old refugee,” oops!
who was really a 21 yr old adult Islamic extremist, who said “I’ll kill you all”
“Julie said she later found that Abdul had been visiting extremist websites on his mobile phone and an interpreter relayed messages, sent to family and friends, where he had been joking about “tricking” the British government into thinking he was a child.”
This poor woman, She later found out he was not the person he said he was
… had been arrested while posing as a child refugee in Belgium!.
Beyond belief!
“I found out that he claimed asylum there as 17-year-old. I couldn’t understand why that information wasn’t passed on to me”
Well I can, because no one in their right mind would touch these menacing liars with a bargepole … and T May and the No10 liars? their sole answer is to put screens up so we can t see them enter the UK.
Here we go again ! The Twitteratti in full throttle reporting as unacceptable at Rod Stewart’s larking about in the desert, as put on social media by his wife Penny. Gasps of shock horror again at images of Rod acting out with mates the Game of Thrones, and of course he had to issue a statement of apology to those offended.
If anything spells the death knell for social media this sort of thing will. There will be less posting of videos and photos for the world to share, because of castigation by those pratts who are ‘horrified’ at any image. No doubt the Stewart family will take home movies for family viewing only, as eventually most people will, – and who knows, there may even be a return to the old page turning photo album !! where the world and his wife, and sad idiots cant insult you in your own living room !!!
Lol!! It’s a good example of NEVER APOLOGISE! What ever happened to that gymnast…cant remember his name – Louis?? Also a good reason not to use Instagram or any of that narcissistic crap. Quick, get the Offence Police for a comment from someone obscure who might claim to be offended blah, blah, blah. But wait a minute – more important news from the BBC – Jane Austen had her wallpaper hanging upside down (did you see that nugget?!)
‘Sixteen families will invite the four stars of the show into their own kitchens to cook their favourite family recipes and will be whittled down through a series of challenges across 12 hour-long episodes’.
I wonder if we will have any bacon meals? Or is that punishable by jail and possible death?
“So, in October, BBC Two announced it would air new food-based series The Big Family Cooking Showdown – and it’s now been confirmed it will star former Bake Off winner Nadiya Hussain”
… Surprised NOT, talk about flogging the dead horse
“This isn’t the first BBC programme Nadiya will have appeared in since Bake Off”
(Do you seriously think anyone, ANYONE will not have noticed!)
“She’s already fronted a two-part documentary and will also star in an eight-part series about British food”.
… and the R4 Christmas Special and the One Show etc, etc.
She didn t even deserve the Bake Off win, baked a crap cake for the Queen,
and has been systematically plastered all over the Al BBC ever bloody since.
Its not for me that she is muslim, but, for the Al BBC that s ALL its about it can t be about the best baker or most personable.
There have been Bake Off winners that are simply brilliant, lovely warm and have struggled to get the media they deserve, virtually zero.
The bloody airtime the PR, the media exposure, the book, the radio etc, etc is unwarranted, and blatantly biased over all the other winners.
Just think, how much has the Al BBC spent on this overt circus?
I wrote to the Mail on Sunday shortly after she won, and in essence said exactly your comments, particularly the point about other worthy winners not getting a quarter of the publicity of Hussain. AND they printed it, together with comments from other ‘concerned’ readers. More than one columnist also mentioned it – sadly its only the Beeb who are blinded to this. I rather suspect she was quickly put under contract after her win, and now they have to find suitable ‘projects’ for her in order to recoup their outlay. The viewing public aren’t idiots they know what game is being played.
SO unfair that she has been given these opportunities for fame and fortune which other Bake off winners are denied – just because they are ethnic British and have white skin!
Coming up 4:30 on R4 Fakeback
– Teacher Helping 2welcome refugees
– Listeners wanting Trump/Farage banned
– Trump not inviting BBC to one press day
– and other anti-Trump people
Officially they have
“r concerns about satirising Donald Trump in a news programme, and considers how far writers can go when dramatising real disasters.
Every Friday on the World at One, reporter Jonny Dymond has been documenting the movements of Trump’s first 100 days in office with a wry twist. ”
– Docudramas
– Expansion of World Service
Twitter feed shows an orchestrated campaign to R4 Feedback by ppl wanting Nigel Farrage banned from BBC airwaves.
But probably not from mocking on every Comedy show
Heard Feedback.
Talk about restricting the debate.
Chomsky himself said that the left were to argue withing really constrained limits-but to argue as if it really mattered and therefore drew the passion and sting that would be dangerous in areas where the Left would NOT want us to go.
Such as Rod Stewarts video.
So it was with Feedback-Bolton confined Dymonds evils to “should satire be part of news?”. As if the BBC don`t do it all the time where news might be expected.
Naturally we got phone calls from Islington wanting the BBC to crash Trumps press briefings and continue to insist on lying and slithering as they do.
Sheer fake nothings.
Did you notice every single voice just repeated the false narrative
“Trump lied #NotingHappensInSweden” ?
Even the one guy who said Dymonds comments on Trump were not fair.
More horrors the cowardly Christianophobic Al-Beebeera won’t tell you, below.
[If a teenager so much as tweaks an invader’s veil, shock horror, front page news.
Meanwhile thousands of Christians are systematically slaughtered, tortured and harassed in the muslim world, unreported, unnoticed, unhelped, unlamented, unmourned, unremembered.
Christians – who cares? They’re so uncool it’s embarrassing. Now if they were transgenders or ‘persecuted’ muslims, now THAT’S news!
Shame on you beebeestan, not that you have any.]
“The Slow-Motion Genocide of Egypt’s Christians”
Yet another murderous wave is taking Egypt’s Coptic Christian minority by storm, leading to another exodus from their homes.
Last week in al-Arish, Sinai, Islamic State affiliates killed a 65-year-old Christian man by shooting him in the head; they then abducted and tortured his 45-year-old son before burning him alive and dumping his charred remains near a schoolyard.
Perhaps because of its sensationalist nature — burning a human alive — this story was reported by some Western media. Yet the atrocities hardly begin or end there…
[Apologies, wrongly posted earlier] https://www.thereligionofpeace.com/attacks/christian-attacks.aspx
I think the BBC supports the murder of Christians, Jews, Hindus, Buddhists, Sikhs and any other people of peaceful religions, in the name of Islamophobia, the fear of being murdered by a Muslim.
Its why the liberal left are not calling for the criminalising of people fearful of being killed by peaceful religions under Christianophobic, Jewophobic, Hindophobic, Buddhistophobic, Sikhophobic or Peacefulreligionophobic laws. Just Liberal left Islamophobic laws, outlawing the fear of the most violent murderous religion in the world.
The progressives have made their pact with Islamists simply because they want to bring down the West at any cost. The reasons now are irrelevant they just are. They never had any logic or sense but arise from the indulgence of the fantasy that the West is evil and that once destroyed the real world can begin.
The creation of the world of their desires.
AS the peoples of the West start to fight back against the progressives they are losing all sense of proportion and rapidly losing their collective reason.
These are dangerous times as a wounded animal is always one to be wary about.
Stop me if you’ve heard this one before (as pro Brexit Morrissey sang) but what you’re describing is r/k theory. It’s espoused by a guy calling himself Anonymous Conservative. He refers to the left as “r-strategists” (“rabbits”) who do not engage in competitive behaviour and move towards areas of free resources. Conservatives are considered “k strategists” who drive production forward, most being Whites and East Asians. His blog is at http://www.anonymousconservative.com/blog/ Well worth a daily read as he applies the theory to real world events.
I note the BBC suddenly got all concerned today about Taxi s not taking customers with guide dogs … I was quite surprised seeing RoPer s are the drivers doing
it.
Goodness! finally, such a welcome change, until we find that’s its … wait for it
Saleh Ahmed, from Balsall Heath, Birmingham … no wonder the airtime, and column inches eh, and no mention of the mitigating factor … Islam.
ps nog – the Religion of Madness has a whole sub-lunacy about dogs. Something to do with a puppy preventing angel Gabriel from having a chat with mad mo, so he had them all exterminated. Oh, and black ones are the devil. (Sounds a bit racist to me, and definitely doggophobic – a new hate crime?)
Don’t believe me? Look it up, I can’t waste my time on such nonsense.
Paddy says “Mick, I’m thinking of buying a Labrador. “Bugger that” says Mick “have you seen how many of their owners go blind?”
Two Muslims have crashed a speedboat into the Thames barrier in London. Police think it might be the start of Ram-a-dam.
The wife was counting all the 1p’s and 2p’s out on the kitchen table when she suddenly got very angry and started shouting and crying for no reason. I thought to myself, “She’s going through the change.”
I used to walk my dogs on an area of the Cotswolds that seemed to be attractive to “tourists”. On Bank Holidays & summer weekends the Ropers from Birmingham decided to invade.
The amusing part was their reaction to my very large, very friendly, BLACK greyhound running, at speed, towards their tribal groups (why do they always find it necessary to stay tightly together?).
O’Brien’s big problem is that he just loves the sound of his own voice. I don’t mind listening to various points of view until either boredom or exasperation sets in, but somehow this chap seems to be sincere in his obnoxiousness.
He’s too verbal and therefore gives the listener a chance to realise that he’s not very good at what he does. Luckily, my DAB radio is on the blink, so I don’t need to hear anything from LBC.
He may speak with the wrong accent for lots of people – But without the likes of Tommy Robinson people would be even less aware of what is happening in some of our towns and cities across the land. He is a bit like a working class Farage, he does not allow snowflakes to snuggle under their multy kulty winceyette comfort blankey without “hearing” at least some of the truth.
Tommy does not use the silken glove or silver tongue. Just uncomfortable experience of being beaten with the blunt hammer of reality – Which he has personal experience of, and the likelihood that if we do not wake up fast the rest of will also share the same enriching experiences.
Definitely a courageous man in the truest sense of the word!
“He may speak with the wrong accent for lots of people”
Very true. At his best he’s quite articulate but, without wishing to sound like a class warrior, which I’m not, it’s still very difficult to be regarded as articulate or intelligent with the wrong accent, and his in particular. It’s also far too easy with the right one provided other boxes are ticked. Stephen Fry is an example of the latter. Most of his utterances are drivel and he can be pretty foul mouthed – but he does it so “nicely”.
Ian – I love the way that the media try to portray him as some sort of super yob – with well spoken, sneering middle class news reporters always quick to put the boot in on him. Always a mistake with Tommy because he is, as you rightly say a very bright bloke.
Yet often when they want to try and lay a “progressive” story on us unwashed masses they will use a reporter with a more “regional” accent accent to give the story a bit more working class cred.
It is interesting though (to my ears anyway) that they dont seem to have many reporters with a “cockney ” accent. I suppose the majority of the North London set still find this a little bit offensive.
Thank goodness he is associated with Rebel Media, as the more overseas connections he has the less chance there will be of the UK Government arranging for his death. They have tried during his prison sentences.
“It is interesting though (to my ears anyway) that they dont seem to have many reporters with a “cockney ” accent. I suppose the majority of the North London set still find this a little bit offensive.”
That’s a good point – it’s a bit too close to home. A bit like a Glasgow accent in Edinburgh.
From Islington’s standpoint, a Birmingham, Northern or Welsh accent probably has a sort of “noble working class/exotic” image (strictly within reason, of course).
Here we go another migrant the Home office wants to deport another bloody sob sob story being cheerled by the BBc. North West tonight his time (again). This time it’s Robert Chilowa who has been here 16 years. . The story this time is he “helped saved children from a burning house””Mr Chilowa ran to the house in his bare feet and was alerted by an older sister who had jumped from an upstairs window, that her younger brother and sisters were trapped inside.Fighting the heat and smoke, he called up and told the youngsters to jump and he would catch them.”
So what it has zero relevance to his deportation.
In the past few weeks we have had in the media. A woman deported to Singapore and another to Sri Lanka. All accompanied by a Jackanory. The sooner migration is stopped and repatriation starts the better.
As the BBC set about rewriting history in regard of the SNP up in Scotland( who will ever remind them of their “only once in a generation to get out of the UK” scare-only to find they meant only three years or so)-I really get sick of them. Lesley Riddoch as ever.
And what about all those Scots who voted to LEAVE the EU then?…where is Gina McMiller, Tim McFarron and the like up north to demand that their vote to leave the EU be respected in a soft remaining-as opposed to a hard remaining?
Come on Scots and Tories-time to turn the screws of the idiot complacent Left.
My local BBC report a little department store is due to close after 150 years. The young reporter gives one of the reasons is Brexit. The city is one that is visited by large numbers of tourists. Surely a weak pound should mean more visitors to spend there?
I am worried about those people wading out to sea in those little fillers between programmes on BBC1. Yes they look freezing cold and as though there are lots of rough stones under their feet. But there is not one that looks as though they are BME. Is the BBC racist?
So, Sweden is to reintroduce military conscription. Excellent: what’s left of Swedish manhood (after decades of feminism, socialism and political correctness) might grow back some balls.
They’ll need them in the coming struggle, and I don’t mean against the Russians.
RT TV now showing coverage from liberated Palmyra from RT reporters embedded with “Russian trained Syrian gov Special Force units named the Isis Hunters”
camera flashes to soldiers wearing badges marked in English and Arabic “Isis Fighters”
…. That bit seems like a propaganda stunt, Syrian forces don’t need name badges marked in English.
1) the BBC seem to be advancing the usual mental health defence for Juan Thompson arrested on suspicion of being the anti-Semitic activist in the US. certainly no mention of a political/religous motive.
2) BBC beside themselves with glee to find that the governor of Indiana was more culpable than the ex-US Secretary of State in the operation of his emails. Indiana no doubt has many state secrets to keep away from enemies of the US.
The BBC headline Mike Pence accused of ‘staggering hypocrisy’ on private email
and who are they quoting? former US President Bill Clinton’s adviser Paul Begala said Mr Pence was guilty of “staggering” hypocrisy. As I said, WHO are they quoting? http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-39148306
The Beeb must be well sick. Their (rigged) winner of Strictly – sports reporter on BBC 24 hours Ore Oduba, appears to have defected to ITV’s This Morning as a host !
Cant say I’m unhappy, Oduba clearly believes his own publicity, – and I don’t watch the prog anyway. Like Hussein, his Agent will throw everything at him to get him ‘marketed’.
National Review gives context to the ‘Jim Sessions meeting with the Russians question’
The discussion on RT just mentioned it : they were talking about the Trump election campaign and whether they were having meetings all the time with the Russians about the election.
Jim Sessions line is that they weren’t having (SUCH) meetings with the Russians.
He didn’t mean that he in his normal job never came across the Russians just that he and Trumps election team didn’t have meetings about the elections with the Russians.
Yes the typical politician’s failings of verbosity & grandstanding was Franken’s undoing. If instead of his rambling question he had just asked “Have you met any Russians in the past year?” Sessions would have been stitched up like a kipper.
Al Franken was a comedian who was elected as a senator for Minnesota by all of 312 votes, many of which seemed to have come from dodgy sources to say the least. Of the Republicans had had the wit to do so, his election could have been challenged. As it was, his vote was enough to give Obama the majority necessary to pass Obamacare.
In short, he is a corrupt, criminal left wing disgrace, but apparently Mr Sessions is the bad guy for having a super secret meeting with the Russian ambassador in his office in the Senate.
The left wing elite are so stupid, evil and hypocritical that if you wrote it up as a story, no-one would believe it.
Do you think the BBC would report if a FRACKING corp cut down 200 ancient trees ?
What if to save CO2 a solar farm corp cut down 200 ancient trees, would they report that ?

Women Living In Fear In Sweden – Katie Hopkins – Tucker Carlson Tonight
… so when’s the next women’s march then?
#NothingHappensInSweden #LastNightInSweden
Stew thanks for the Fox News clip with Katie Hopkins.
To sum up:
Yes, Sweden is a mess.
Because of migrants.
Locals live in fear.
Especially women,
Who live in fear of the Feminists who are an anti-women fascistic ‘mafia’.
Everyone desperately hushing up truth.
Absolute belief Sweden is Utopia.
Mandatory belief in multiculturism.
Migrants at each others’ throats.
Swedish authorities cannot admit that everything they believe in is wrong.
– “The Government / MFA gives no explanation as to why it is more than twice as many murders in Malmö eg Copenhagen and Oslo, and about six times as many murders in Malmö compared to Helsinki.”
– “Verified data on rape in 2009 show an over-representation of foreign-born as much as 48 percent. Within the category of coarse rape was over-representation of foreign-born as much as 64 percent.”
– If foreigners don’t commit the crime in Sweden then why in 2013 were 35% of prisoners foreign ?
The views on the page are backed up by some reports I find on the official gov websites eg a report into a “dramatic increase in reported rape offences” over 20 years, says there is little evidence that this is due to more reporting. Even taking account the change in legislature this is not sufficient to account for the MAJOR part of the increase.
Even this years official report says only 9% of sexual offences are reported.
Silliness aside another very balsy and astute lady. It was entertaining watching brillo trying to tame her on a clip from a recent interview they had about Sweden. – She definitely seemed to ruffle the normally unflappable brillo more than just a little bit.
Yet again another person who dares to broadcast what most of us actually think and consequently gets pilloried by the MSM. However you dont hear her complaining (a la Gina Miller) and looking for sympathy.
Two businessmen in Scotland on World At One, lunchtime today. One for Brexit the other vehemently against. The guy against revealed 60% of his workers were from the EU. 60%? Yes, 60%!
Unemployment in Scotland is 5.3%, compared with 4.8% for the UK as a whole, with 54,000 people out of work claiming Jobseekers allowance.
So why is this guy employing people from overseas? Answer, presumably, because they are cheaper and will work for less than min wage like other Eastern EU folk.
I was in the car and R4 cut out at this point so does anyone know whether the gentleman was asked about this and why he doesn’t pay proper wages for British staff? Or did the BBC let this pass?

Am I the only one who couldn’t care less I’d rather listen to Deutsch Amerikanische Freundschaft (who I saw play live in Hannover once & they were dreadful). Obscure reference of the week contender
“Muslim who claimed visa denied by Trump ban, who Schumer got into US, arrested for sexual assault of 12-year-old girl.”
I think we need a new page called The Curse of Trump.
1) Trump says Sweden’s in a mess, everybody mocks him, next day riots.
2) Trump supporters boycott the Oscars, all the luvvies mock him, ends in fiasco.
3) Sportsman Tanveer Hussain is refused US visa (allegedly), Trump blamed, Schumer and assorted libtards campaign to get him in, days later he’s arrested for sexual assault of 12-year-old girl.
You couldn’t make it up!
It’s starting to look like Trump is a… Prophet!
https://www.jihadwatch.org/2017/03/muslim-who-claimed-visa-denied-by-trump-ban-who-schumer-got-into-us-arrested-for-sexual-assault-of-12-year-old-girl
The Qur’an teaches that Infidel women can be lawfully taken for sexual use (cf. its allowance for a man to take “captives of the right hand,” 4:3, 4:24, 23:1-6, 33:50, 70:30). The Qur’an says: “O Prophet, tell your wives and your daughters and the women of the believers to bring down over themselves of their outer garments. That is more suitable that they will be known and not be abused. And ever is Allah Forgiving and Merciful.” (33:59) The implication there is that if women do not cover themselves adequately with their outer garments, they may be abused, and that such abuse would be justified.
India was not among the seven countries named in Trump’s immigration ban, so Tanveer Hussain is lying to begin with. In any case, his arrest demonstrates the risks involved in the Democrats Let-Them-All-In-and-Anyone-Who-Demurs-Is-A-Racist-Islamophobe approach.
BBC – School headscarf row councillor resigns from Birmingham cabinet
An equality chief who became involved in a row over a four-year-old Muslim girl wearing a headscarf in school has resigned from his cabinet post. Birmingham councillor Waseem Zaffar claimed the school had breached anti-discrimination laws.
Ahem! … Mr Zaffar was related to the pupil but did not make that public
In January, Mr Zaffar posted on Facebook that St Clare’s Catholic Primary School were refusing to let the pupil wear a headscarf and said he wanted the matter “addressed asap with a change of policy”.
But the Muslim Women’s Network UK, amongst others, said the school was not at fault as young girls are not required to wear headscarves
… HELLO! Islamophile Al BBC
NO girls, not one are required to wear a headscarf here that is Sharia law not UK Law
BBC you re lying by omission again.
beebeestan seem to have perfected the dark art of disappearing news stories.
Only yesterday ‘Eight Iraqis jailed for New Year gang rape in Vienna’ was among the top read stories on their site, now it’s vanished, even after drilling down to Europe.
But miraculously, “Germany hate crime: Nearly 10 attacks a day on migrants in 2016” is still proudly visible among the ‘most popular’, nearly a week after first appearing.

Raising awareness about the wall encroaching on Palestinian land? and freedom apparently
Is that the punch line Banksy? which “Palestinian land”? genius and erm wonderful “judenrein” freedom? that s fascism not freedom
“Israel says it is needed to prevent terror attacks. Palestinians say it is a device to grab land and the International Court of Justice has called it illegal”
So he apparently finds outrageous that some of Israel’s settlements are indeed located so as to prevent large contiguous blocs of land populated by Arabs.
But they are there for a reason, that’s just the point: Israel has a legal right, under the Mandate, to plant settlements everywhere in Mandatory Palestine, including what became known as the “West Bank”; that right was not extinguished by the dead letter of the Partition Plan, and has only been reinforced by another right, derived from U.N. Resolution 242, for Israel to have “secure and recognized” borders which, in a formulation repeatedly used by both the American and Israeli governments, taken to mean “secure and defensible borders.
The settlements do that, some have thus been deliberately situated so as to promote those “secure and defensible borders” which, in the West Bank, necessarily means control of the Jordan Valley and of the Judean and Samarian hills.
More knicker waving and hot air, that is promoting non negotiation
… but the enemedia laps it up
As Zuheir Mohsen, leader of the Palestinian Arab terror group As Saiqa, famously told a journalist in 1977:
The Palestinian people does not exist. The creation of a Palestinian state is only a means for continuing our struggle against the state of Israel for our Arab unity.
In reality today there is no difference between Jordanians, Palestinians, Syrians and Lebanese.
Only for political and tactical reasons do we speak today about the existence of a Palestinian people, since Arab national interests demand that we posit the existence of a distinct “Palestinian people” to oppose Zionism.
Yes, the existence of a separate Palestinian identity exists only for tactical reasons, Jordan, which is a sovereign state with defined borders, cannot raise claims to Haifa and Jaffa, while as a Palestinian, I can undoubtedly demand Haifa, Jaffa, Beer-Sheva and Jerusalem.
However, the moment we reclaim our right to all of Palestine, we will not wait even a minute to unite Palestine and Jordan”.
Quirky hotels can sometimes be a money maker but this one seems much more of a political statement to which the BBC is delighted to give publicity. By Banksy’s own admission he expects to close after a year. Will the BBC also report on the closure or perhaps the auction of the art?
I couldn’t discover how much it will cost to stay but “The hotel contains valuable works of art, some of which you are permitted to lock yourself alone with overnight. As a consequence, a $1000 deposit will be taken on a credit / debit card at check in”. That might discourage more than a few guests.
But back to the BBC. “The Walled Off Hotel in Bethlehem looks out on the concrete slabs of the controversial barrier Israel has built in and around the occupied West Bank.” The barrier is for the most part a fence. About 90-95% of the barrier will be constructed as a “multi-layered fence system” when completed.
“Israel says it is needed to prevent terror attacks”. Well BBC professionals, has it prevented attacks?
In 2002, there were 452 fatalities from terrorist attacks. Before the completion of the first continuous segment (July 2003) from the beginning of the Second Intifada, 73 Palestinian suicide bombings were carried out from the West Bank, killing 293 Israelis and injuring over 1,900. After the completion of the first continuous segment through the end of 2006, there were only 12 attacks based in the West Bank, killing 64 people and wounding 445. Terrorist attacks declined in 2007[6] and 2008[48] to 9 in 2010. Bethlehem is the site of a concrete wall rather than a fence because of sniping In 2002, it was a primary combat zone in Operation Defensive Shield, a major military counteroffensive by the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF).
The BBC quotes Banksy as saying,“It’s exactly one hundred years since Britain took control of Palestine and started re-arranging the furniture – with chaotic results.” Except that it isn’t. In 1917 WWI was still raging. The war ended ended with the Armistice of Mudros in 30 October 1918. It should also be noted that the furniture Britain (prime ministers of Great Britain, France, and Italy, and representatives of Japan, Greece, and Belgium all had a part) was not Palestinian or even Arab. It was Turkish and even then only formally in 1920.
Is fake news that new ? I’m not particularly religious – although I was raised as C of E and baptised, all this ‘fake news’ had me wondering about religion in general. I suppose like most of us – (excepting those of deep faith in their chosen religion) we don’t think too deeply about the religious stories in the Bible, the teachings of the Torah, or the scriptures in the Quoran. All of these tomes are open to interpretation, but mainly relied on word of mouth handed down through the generations. So here we are 2000 years later in the grip of ‘fake news’, when it could have all started milleniums ago with a few blokes sat around a camp fire making up a load of tosh after downing a few pints of grape juice !!! Who knows ?
At 1.30am I switched on World Service and it was an interview with the CEO of Expedia talking about tourism and the TRAVEL BAN. After the news the subject was going to be about TRUMPENOMICS. I immediately switched off and have been having a much better time reading the weekend threads on this fantastic site. Moodswing6 that I use refers to the moodswings I used to have every 6 seconds. Now because of the BBC I seem to have gone completely mad.

“The BBC is investigating after several people gained unauthorised access to one of its studios during a live broadcast at Broadcasting House.”
Minimalist article, interesting that the BBC “take security very seriously” and ” have already taken further security measures” and appear less than enthusiastic about an open door free for all policy in regard to it’s own ‘borders’. The details are so sparse I wonder why it even gets a mention.
Good point Oldspeaker, Al-Beebeestan not so keen on open borders to its own premises. Fishy story, I smell a rat.
Sorry, make that 2 rats, the first was the bbc.
You’d think Al Beebus, which trys so desperately hard to get down with “da kidz”, would be promoting this story to the heights. Young, vibrant, entrepreneurial, mulitcultural Britain at its finest, all and those Fifth Columnists can do is knock out 150 words and some security platitudes.
Wouldn’t it be absolutely terrifying if our young pranksters at Broadcasting House were in fact an advance recce for some explosive cultural enrichment?
I shudder at the mere thought.
But there is precedent – during the war, when the beeb were still on the side of Britain. Today of course any enemy would be well advised to let the 5th Column Corporation do their work for them, undisturbed.
And another one Al-Beebistan missed: “Muslim convert who wanted to buy a nine-year-old virgin slave girl but was stopped at Gatwick on his way to join ISIS faces jail.”
“In our religion, Islam, it’s OK to have slaves,”
I don’t know why all the fuss, any 9 year old would be delighted to be enriched by this gentleman, surely.
Now let’s get back to some real news, like Nadiya…
You are correct 9 is on the “old side”, 6 is well recorded and documented … oh and the erm, inbetween?
If you really want to feel disgusted, I m always let the recorded facts well …

Jihadwatch? Brietbart? how about Biased BBC?
Facebook and Twitter have censored Jihad Watch, and have blocked many thousands from reading it.
“Did thousands of people who used to click on Jihad Watch articles from Facebook and Twitter suddenly on February 10 lose interest? Of course not. This is what happened: Facebook and Twitter are censoring Jihad Watch as “hate speech.”
Now, I do not accept and will never accept the idea that reporting on jihad activity and Sharia oppression constitutes “hate speech,” but that is, of course, the longstanding claim of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and Muslim groups in the West, and has been uncritically adopted by the Left, with which Facebook and Twitter are so firmly aligned”.
R Spencer
… The European Union has warned Facebook Inc. (FB), Twitter Inc. (TWTR), Alphabet Inc. subsidiary Google (GOOG), and Microsoft Inc. (MSFT) that they could face the prospect of hate speech laws, if they fail to clamp down on such speech on their platforms. The companies, which own or run social media platforms with member numbers that run into millions on the continent, had signed a code of conduct to take down instances of offensive and hate speech within 24 hours back in May.
That’s the biggest problem with these “hate speech” laws. Whether From the EU, Justin Trudeau, Facebook or anywhere they are enforced. It’s that the left want to define what “hate speech” is. We know it won’t be a sensible definition but will become a means to censor any word or sentence they don’t like. I expect if we let them get this control, the goal posts will be moved around accordingly to suit whatever agenda they are trying to push. How long until prosecutions & fines begin? How many careers & livelihoods will be ruined? This could be the most important battle of our age. To keep our freedom of speech. I hope we will not have to look back in 5 years to remember the ‘good old days’ when we could type & print in a public place like this our real opinions & what we know to be true.
Can you all imagine if as in Orwell’s novel, we were forced to have our minds constantly exposed to that Ministry of Truth rubbish? If we had no outlet, no source of alternative information? It’s a nightmare scenario but I am sure in reality that is the plan. Am I a crazy conspiracy theorist?
I heard an account from an Arab-Israeli (ex-Muslim) who was in Israel during the six days war. They were tuning into a radio signal from Jordan which was telling them that they had the Israelis on the run. The Jews were departing with their tails between their legs & the Muslims were victorious. The family were praising Allah until the oldest son came indoors to tell them that there were Israeli tanks rolling up their road. So much for the fake news!
I couldn’t believe what I was watching and listening to on the morning programme this morning!! The positive discrimination and diversity department must of been in a right state. How did this cockney geezer get on to talk about the Haye V Bellew fight. Where was the usual sub continent India lady that usually presents the boxing, wrestling and football news? The other presenters in the studio seemed in a state of shock as this skinhead
who obviously knew about his boxing bellowed on about Bellew and told us that I think it was in 30 years, that the BBC had never allowed him to talk about boxing on TV.Our Steff McGovern looked bemused as she couldn’t understand a word he was saying. As much as us Londoners cant make out her northern brogue. This was terrific TV !! I thought at one time that as , I cant even remember his name , got into a fever pitch on ranting about the
fight ,that some BBC bouncers would come on and drag him out the studio!!!
I just heard an interview on Toady as to why there has been no space mission to Mars yet, Webb et al came up with all sorts of reasons, apart from one: that America sacrificed the funding of space missions because NASA was perceived as just “too white, too male” and instead diverted the money to attempting to uplift blacks and other underperforming minorities and try to close the racial gap in performance between them and whites – which is impossible.
“In today’s high-tech society, it’s hard to believe that the apex of space travel was achieved nearly 41years ago.
Now, the ambitions of a once-great people have been tied down, tethered to a parasitic, lazy, unimaginative population who never even conceived of the wheel, let alone space travel.
We could have been on Mars by now; instead, our government decided that creating mini-Detroits from sea to shining sea was a more noble goal. Some of us will live to see the day when these foolish, malignant priorities have changed, forever.
Blacks and their enablers always considered NASA to be a pitiable waste of money. The billions, trillions (perhaps quadrillions) spent on space travel would have been better spent on earthly endeavours, such as supporting unemployed black “mothers” and the black men who impregnate them, spreading their sperm like dandelion seeds and running away from their multiple offspring.”
“‘Whitey on the Moon’: Race Politics and the death of the U.S. Space Program, 1958 -1972”
Paul Kersey.
NASA was one the orgs infiltrated from the inside to become a Global Warming alarmist PR machine, which is exactly the opposite of the opinions of it’s own old top astronauts.
Goddard Institute led by Gavin Schmidt is the worst.
NASA built an immense CO2 monitoring satellite system, but strangely shut up when it provided the “wrong kind” of results.

Our elite truly are brass-necked.

There are a few Waitrose in the north but not very many. You might have heard of the old gag ‘What is the point of Sainsburys? To keep the scum out of Waitrose’. Unfortunately up here Sainsburys is as good as it gets so we need Morrisons to cater for the scum!

When I read your post, I immediately switched ‘investing’ into ‘infecting’ in my mind. Did you mean infecting?
I guess you did.

IMO doesn’t matter how much you legislate, the employer is always going to be wondering if a woman is going to disappear on maternity leave several weeks after taking up a post.
This is rife in schools – have had two kids passed from teacher to teacher as they go off on m.leave. Also, as the post now has to be held for a year for them to return, replacement teachers are only offered a one year post.

(Do you seriously think anyone, ANYONE will not have noticed!)

Conservatives are considered “k strategists” who drive production forward, most being Whites and East Asians. His blog is at http://www.anonymousconservative.com/blog/ Well worth a daily read as he applies the theory to real world events.

O’Brien’s big problem is that he just loves the sound of his own voice. I don’t mind listening to various points of view until either boredom or exasperation sets in, but somehow this chap seems to be sincere in his obnoxiousness.

National Review – says it is not a case of perjury, cos it was upto Franken to seek clarification and ask ‘So you never even said hello to the Russians ?’
“But the claim that his testimony was perjurious as a matter of law is wholly without merit.”

Ahhhh Katie – “Thinking Deplorables Krumpet!”

Magic.

Who knows ?

“The BBC is investigating after several people gained unauthorised access to one of its studios during a live broadcast at Broadcasting House.”
Minimalist article, interesting that the BBC “take security very seriously” and ” have already taken further security measures” and appear less than enthusiastic about an open door free for all policy in regard to it’s own ‘borders’. The details are so sparse I wonder why it even gets a mention.

But there is precedent – during the war, when the beeb were still on the side of Britain. Today of course any enemy would be well advised to let the 5th Column Corporation do their work for them, undisturbed.

Jihadwatch? Brietbart? how about Biased BBC?
