MID WEEK OPEN THREAD….

Time for a new one of these. As Alan points out, why the BBC are virtually breathless with excitment about a possible “Neo Nazi cell” in the British Army. (Even as they ignore the 30,000 suspected Jihadi amongst us). Detail the bias here!

Not BBC related but I hope you will approve.
In September 1967 the supreme British athlete of all time accomplished something not achieved before or since.
Beryl Burton, an amateur cyclist, with a family, a full time job, beat the world record for the cycling 12 hour time trial. A record that stands today, as a womens’s record, fifty years later, despite current cycles weighing 50% less than the lumps of steel Beryl transported.

What I did not stress earlier, was that in 1967 Beryl Burton beat the men’s record, which she held for two years.
The only woman ever to beat the male record in a timed, or distance event.

Beryl, alas, is gone, although her CV of records is likely to remain forever unbeaten.

Eileen Sheridan, now 94, is still with us. Eileen demolished all then existing long distance ladies cycle records
in the period before Beryl Burton dominated ladies cycling.

I demand that the next sporting postage stamp issued by Royal Mail pictures these two giants of British ladies
excellence. Write to your MP and demand it. If the MP does not do so, arrange a by-election.

No more stamps of Muzzie cookathons, Muzzie murderathons, Lesbie queerathons.
    Credit where it is due.

And while we are on with women not in the public/bBBC eye who Really deserve remembering, how about Barbara Jane Harrison?
Who? Is she transgender? Black? Disabled? Lesbian? A feminist? Surely a campaigner of some kind?
      None of these.
But if I said Barbara Jane Harrison GC, would that help?

Thank you for reminding me of Harrison.
        A harrowing, yet inspiring, story.
Probably she should be added to (may already have been added) to a list which would include Florence Nightingale and Grace Darling.
And would not include any other Crimean War nurses, even if they have more statues than The Bhudda!

A story which I had to be reminded of by reading the Wikipedia article.
In the Harrison Wikipedia “See Also” section we find :-
        Neerja Bhanot

Who? so I read the Bhanot article.
A remarkable pretty Indian girl, also an air stewardess, also died aged 22, doing her job during a plane hijacking.
Received, posthumously, the highest award for gallantry that India has.
An award that, like that of Harrison, seems richly deserved.
So I looked for Harrison to be linked in the Bhanot article, via the “See Also”.
Currently there is no, “See Also”!
The lefties are at it again, disgusting.

I am well and truly triggered. I have to work today but will post fully about it later once I have calmed down.

More BAME judges? Yeah – that has worked so well with the Police. Always, always someone else’s fault. If you obey the law you will probably never have to go to court as a plaintiff – it is so mind-numbingly simple. Don’t join a gang. Don’t rape children. Yet here we have another ‘report’ about how it is all our fault, us evil whiteys who fall victim so much crime perpetrated by other ‘communities.’ What about this bastard who stole my bike wheel? I had to walk to work for a week. How did I ‘oppress’ him?

So, I’ve just come across this:
Malala calls for defence of Rohingya
Nobel Peace Prize winner Malala Yousafzai says the “global community” needs to intervene to protect Myanmar’s Muslim minority. She urged Myanmar’s leader Aung San Suu Kyi to speak up for the Rohingya. “We can’t be silent right now. The number of people who have been displaced is hundreds of thousands,” Malala told the BBC.

Ok, but can anybody point me in the direction of anybody never mind Nobel Peace Prize winner Malala Yousafzai saying the same just a few months ago when Islamic terrorists captured the city of Marawi in the Philippines on May 24th this year. 180K people have had to leave their homes, just under 1000 killed another 1400 injured and where the battle for the city is still ongoing .

Then there was the mass exodus of people from Mosul this year, the bBC did tell me hundreds of thousands were at risk (Albeit not from IS but the Iraqi forces). What about when the Yazidis had to leave their city, the UN says 5000 were killed, and over 10K taken as sex slaves where was Malala then? In fact where were the ethical latte drinkers. Oh hang on the NUS under its Muslim leader was bitching about ‘Islamophobia’ when it came to condemning ISIS. Its the same after each and every terrorist attack in the UK where somebody has shouted ‘allah ackba’ as the political elites opine about the backlash against those who despise and hate everything about us.

So the question I must ask, is why is it the Political elites only care about Muslims getting killed at the hands of non-Muslims, but never when those who are doing the killing are…Muslims. Think I’m kidding how many people here have heard of 4 Christians getting beheaded in kenya on Wednesday. or that terrorist cells have been broken up these past 4 days in:
Spain/Morocco/Sweden/France/UK all of which saw idiots arrested planning to murder, death, kill the kuffa. But I bet you’ve heard of 4 British Squaddies belonging to a NAZIS group who so far have committed the crime of tweeting they were glad to see Jo Cox dead. (And before big ears comes on and complains, I say send those 4 to a military prison (Not as cushy as a civy nick) for 15 years hard labour.) in which to send the message to any future British army goose steppers

A piece of streaky left on a mosque door gets just as much coverage as someone stabbed in Europe by a mentally ill person looking for “allens snack bar” In this country we have had the BBC even being complicit in trying to reduce the impact of the mass abuse of white girls by Muslim men whilst bigging up any “hate crimes” to enhance the victim status of any muslim who has suffered any small insult.

I would not be surprised if the BBC now gets its line from the MCB, hence its inability to pick up stories quickly. It has become like the little boy who cried wolf – People get sick and tired of hearing the same old narrative or only half a story which only the gullible swallow whole., even when the truth is patently the opposite.

I am sure one day there will be some unpleasant stories relating to brutality meted out to Muslims. But until the BBC rediscover “journalism” rather paternalism and Islamic patronage they will remain a busted flush.

Oaknash – I have suspected for some time – and this is purely conjecture – that persons within the BBC are receiving large amounts of money from pro-Islamic organisations, possibly Saudis. Otherwise I cannot understand what is fuelling their pro-Muslim agenda. It seems to go way beyond the normal loony-lefty concerns for ‘minorities’ etc. We know that money is being poured into things like the touring museum show that claimed lots of inventions were thought up by the Muslims, so it is not inconceivable that similar things are going on in institutions like the BBC .

Cran, it seems highly likely that there are many bribes paid to those in power throughout the world to pave the way for the Islamic takeover.
Whether the BBC echelon also have their fingers in this till or not they would still be doing their utmost to promote Islam. Simple reason – with @ 60 Islamic nations and 1.6 billion Muslims throughout the world, and the BBC hegemony to be the world media organisation, they will sacrifice anybody and anything to achieve it.
We are a captive audience forced to pay these traitors for their treachery. Yet successive governments allow the scum to continue so there has to be a motive.

I read this to find out what it is! It’s an interesting theory too – but I also thought it’s a fine line between this, and child sex abuse. But typically, something the BBC ‘journalists’ would get ‘excited’ about.

Looby – the psychological drive that lies behind ALL of the BBC output is the necessity to feel powerful.
I see this stemming from an inferiority complex, probably from a young age, when their normal mental development was blocked by parents, siblings or peers. Now they want to make changes in the world to feel superior, but because of their inability to really think things through, they pursue the narrative they do – regardless of its real effect on society.

They’ve even convinced themselves that they are justified in ignoring their charter. They share a similar psyche to the extremist Muslims, they simply have a different route to ‘justify’ their mentality.

Often in discussion (with normal intelligent people) on this subject, I ask them to imagine that I am an angel and will give them the choice – either they can have absolute and total life and death power over everybody else in the world, or continue the lives they have with family and friends.

To date nobody has chosen the former, which is exactly what I anticipate from an intelligent being. Which then begs the question – who are they that seek this power?

The reason history repeats itself with the same mentality doing everything they can to achieve power leading to world conflict, is because those like ourselves, after being victorious in overcoming this threat just want to go back to our lives, leaving the seats of power open again…

                A vicious circle!
After the next victory we have to make sure that we don’t ever leave the seats of power open again, much as we don’t want it.

    Another day in dystopia

BBC TV News this morning indulges their remarkably obsessive interest in far off hurricanes – not shared by this UK Licence Payer.

JG Ballard was keen on extreme climatic tales – I’d much prefer to read one of his scifi stories than have the BBC News exaggerate for effect

BBC treasure and apparent modernday oracle and font of all wisdom (until recently a simple Pakistani schoolgirl) Malala Yousafzai has said something the BBC is keen to relay to viewers: seems the BBC’s own previously expressed agenda and editorial views on the muslim population of Burma is shared by Malala (who would have guessed?)

News management in action there – and a little bit 1984

David Lammy MP has brought his insightful intellect to bear on the situation concerning ‘BAME’ young offenders here in Britain. And apparently he sounds for just a moment as though he is putting forward a strong argument to curb immigration:

“This problem (young ethnic offenders) is costing us millions and we could close twelve prisons”

He has nicely highlighted the problem but, mind you, our experience of his proposed liberal minded policy solutions ‘let them off/given them a second chance/give funding to programs etc’ never has really seemed to work in the past.

    Clockwork Orange, anyone?

“BBC TV News this morning indulges their remarkably obsessive interest in far off hurricanes – not shared by this UK Licence Payer.”

The bBC is currently pushing this story:
“The move to deploy HMS Ocean and increase funding came after Josephine Gumbs-Conner, a barrister from Anguilla, claimed on Thursday morning that the UK’s preparations for, and response to, the storm had been “sorely lacking”. She told BBC Radio 4’s Today programme that the UK government should have “done what the French did in St Martin … made sure that they had military on the ground so that the response given is timely”

And yet in March of this year. the RFA Mounts Bay was deployed to the Caribbean to provide support during the 2017 hurricane season. For those that don’t know, the Mount Bay is a Bay-class landing ship which comes in at 16,000 tonnes. (8k short of the old light aircraft carriers we got rid of the other year) The Marvis Bay has a well deck which allows landing craft to dock inside the ship in which to load up. . at 16K you can bet a load of supplies will already have been preloaded. Funny how the bBC promote the message the UK was caught on the hop.

and don’t get me onto the “isms’ ” in the justice system….apparently white people plead guilty sooner then BAME…and the reason they don’t is because they don’t trust the system…nothing to do with the fact they might be criminals and liars, the crimes might have higher potential sentences….as for the recommendations, most could be applied to all criminals not just BAME. The Left’s capacity to blame victims is boundless. What a fortune it must cost the tax payer in legal aid having people choosing toplead not guilty. Solicitors are paid by the hour so it is much better for them, dragging it all out for as long as humanly possible – even in the face of overwhelming evidence; and the counsel in terrorism cases is disproportionately ‘diverse.’ The Woolwich murderers pleaded not guilty, keen to milk as much money as possibly from the vile kuffar. Yet somehow this is all our fault? They should ‘trust’ the system more then they would please guilty?

bBC misreporting in favour of more…Islamic teaching
    Religious schooling ‘reduces radicalisation’
Many young Africans drawn to extremist groups know “little to nothing” about religious texts and interpretations, a UN study has found. The survey, the first of its kind in Africa, profiled nearly 500 voluntary recruits to militant groups including al-Shabab and Boko Haram. Finding a job is “the most acute need at the time of joining a group,” the report finds. It also points to government action as a “tipping point”. Most of those surveyed reported unhappy childhoods and a lack of parental supervision…..Based on these sample groups, they say that receiving “at least six years of religious schooling [is] shown to reduce the likelihood of joining an extremist group by as much as 32%”.

And here is how the UN actually reported the above story:
Marginalization, perceived abuse of power pushing Africa’s youth to extremism – UN study
7 September 2017 – Deprivation, marginalization and perceived state violence or abuse of power are pushing young Africans into the clutches of violent extremism, a groundbreaking study by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) reveals. “This study sounds the alarm that as a region, Africa’s vulnerability to violent extremism is deepening,” Abdoulaye Mar Dieye, UNDP Africa Director, said today at the launch of the report in New York….
“Based on responses to questions including on family circumstances, childhood and education, religious ideologies, economic factors, state and citizenship, the study also finds that:
    1) Majority of recruits come from borderlands or peripheral areas that have suffered longstanding marginalization and report having had less parental involvement growing up.

2)Most recruits expressed frustration at their economic conditions – with employment the most acute need at the time of joining – as well as a deep sense of grievance towards government: 83 per cent believe that government looks after only the interests of a few, and over three-fourths said they have no trust in politicians or in the state security apparatus.

    3) Most recruits expressed frustration at their economic conditions – with employment the most acute need at the time of joining – as well as a deep sense of grievance towards government

    4) Recruitment in Africa occurs mostly at the local, person-to-person level, rather than online, as is the case in other regions – a factor that may alter the forms and patterns of recruitment as connectivity improves.

    5) Some 80 per cent of recruits interviewed joined within a year of introduction to the violent extremist group – and nearly half of these joined within just one month.

    6) In terms of exiting a violent extremist group, most interviewees who surrendered or sought amnesty did so after losing confidence in the ideology, leadership or actions of their group.

Funny how the UN reports on economic and victim hood rather than religion. Even stranger is how the bBC promotes more Islamic teaching as the answer to the problem at hand.

… I am assuming it’s Islam that’s been promoted and not Christianity due to the following comment …

The report is based on a two-year, in-depth study, including interviews with some 495 voluntary recruits who joined Africa’s most prominent extremist groups, including Boko Haram (Islamic) and Al-Shabaab (Islamic).
According to UNDP estimates, some 33,300 people in Africa have lost their lives to violent extremist attacks between 2011 and early 2016.

… but how can this be based on information from islamicity.org/9734/islam-a-religion-of-mercy …

“The wonderful religion of Islam is based almost exclusively on two primary sources. Firstly, the most awe-inspiring and motivational figure of our beloved Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and secondly the astonishingly eloquent and the glorious Quran. Together, these two sources provide copious guidance, wisdom and powerful means of development as well as the perfection of human life. In fact it may be asserted that for a Muslim, the complete blueprint to lead an unblemished and faultless life in this world and thus attain the highest status in the Akhira (the hereafter) is contained within these two sources.”

The Today programme R4 was treating us to another intellectual tour de force from David Lammy MP in another feeble attempt to explain away the greater propensity to criminality amongst certain ethnic minorities.

I concur – completely one-sided reports on the Today programme on this subject. The Lammy Report seems inadequate, to say the least. The first part (the only part I’ve read, and probably the only part I shall read) is full of subjective opinion and assumptions, and unjustified conclusions. And how strange a government report should include a full page photograph of the eponymous author. ‘Today’ decided, in their usual completely unbiased way, to invite only supportive voices on to the programme, including that inveterate old liberal, the Lord Wolff, and an extraordinary effnik whose name I didn’t catch, and whose comments, so far as one could understand them, were illogical and off-the-point. The BBC – world class journalism!

There was outrage when the pro-EU affiliations of some of the judges in the “Gina” trial were pointed out. This was political interference – an attack on the integrity of the judiciary. Yet apparently, we are supposed to believe their impartiality vanishes when it comes to sentencing ethnics and no attempt to exert political influence is being made.

Editors decide what journalists are going to say before the reporting begins – the story line is set in advance.
Sky News – determined to match the BBC and Channel 4 in the race to the bottom – is running a hatchet job on Russia entitled ‘Is Russia Ramping up Propaganda?’ (http://news.sky.com/story/sky-views-journalism-russian-style-11024774). Apparently, whereas Western journalism is all objective and balanced, Russian journalism is the opposite, with journalists simply parroting what the government tells them what to say, hence the quote at the top of this posting. That may be so to some degree, but at least you can watch or read RT, know that it reflects a Russian interpretation of events and that the truth is likely to be somewhere between it and what the Western media says. The primary differences are that (1) Western journalists do not declare their agendas or backers and (2) the Government does not have to tell them what to say as they can rely on self-censorship, shared values and uncritical minds to get the messages of immigration, multiculturalism, Islamification, global warming and globalisation across. Hypocrisy of the highest order.

In November 2010 a Rotherham CSE court case came to trial; five “sexual predators” were convicted of grooming three girls, two aged 13 and one 15, all under children’s social care supervision, before using them for sex. The victims were offered gifts, car rides, cigarettes, alcohol and cannabis. Sex took place in cars, bushes and the play area of parks. A mortgage adviser who drove a BMW and owned several properties, promised to treat a 13-year old “like a princess”. Another man pulled the hair of a 13-year old and called her a “white bitch” when she tried to reject his attempt to strip her. Eight men were charged and three were cleared of all charges. One victim, aged 13, said: “They used to tell me they loved me and at the time I believed them. I was a little girl.”

The UK Muslim Women’s Network produced a report on CSE in September 2013 which drew on 35 case studies of women from across the UK who were victims, the majority of whom were Muslim. It highlighted that Asian girls were being sexually exploited where authorities were failing to identify or support them. They were most vulnerable to men from their own communities who manipulated cultural norms to prevent them from reporting their abuse.

There were examples of children who had been doused in petrol and threatened with being set alight, threatened with guns, made to witness brutally violent rapes and threatened they would be next if they told anyone. Girls as young as 11 were raped by large numbers of male perpetrators.

In two of the cases we read, fathers tracked down their daughters and tried to remove them from houses where they were being abused, only to be arrested themselves when police were called to the scene.

This abuse is not confined to the past but continues to this day …

A very clever man says Using a simple, well-established climate model, our study for the first time quantifies the amount of sea level rise and increase in global surface temperatures that can be traced to the emissions from specific fossil fuel companies.

Strikingly, nearly 30% of the rise in global sea level between 1880 and 2010 resulted from emissions traced to the 90 largest carbon producers

David Lammy Labour MP and his Report entitled – ‘Lammy Review’ on BAME in the criminal justice system. First impressions on the BBC Today interview with Lammy, the report should be titled, ‘The Lammy Get Out Of Jail Free Card’ report.
Media headlines (Guardian rubbish): “The racial bias in our justice system is creating a social timebomb”; “Exposed: ‘racial bias’ in British criminal justice system”. Anyone thought that the BAME element might be committing more crime that the average whitey?
I am conscious that the prisons are at bursting point, with a large contingent of foreigners of all colours and hues. My simple, rule of thumb to sort out who is committing what, is to make a quick visit to the BBC’s ‘Crimewatch’ website and take a look at the pictures and names there. Who is committing most of the crime by their reckoning – can’t go wrong quoting the BBC, “The most trusted” can we? Take a look at the current Rogues Gallery –
    http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/profiles/58Wdsb8FKdhTWWNBHGRLsLf/wanted-faces
Seen the faces? Well, I will not do the simple arithmetic but you get the point. Now, what say you to the concept that the ‘BAME’ faces in that magnificent line-up will simply be released when caught? Call it the ‘Lammy Theory’ of justice if you wish. And we pay these people to work on this kind of stuff that the average person knows full well is totally biased in favour of the BAME population that, you will recall, make up presently about 13% of the population. Imagine when that figure becomes 60/70% which is destined, turning a blind eye to BAME criminality is just a nonsensical notion.

    The PDF Report –
    https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/lammy-review-final-report%
Want a ‘two-tier’ justice system and to retain the criteria that the Police are judged by? I reckon that’s a whole lot more whiteys being rounded up and the book chucked at them to maintain the ‘targets’.
The muzzies? tagged on to the report simply because the ‘Lammy Theory’ helps to take them where they want to go.

I have just finished reading the Lammy report and you will note that the BBC just keep saying about the BAME bias – but Mr Lammy to his credit is saying other things and recognising there are other issues.

And when you read the report you know why. You could drive a train through the holes in methodology…It was based on the responses of 260 people (95%): Not exactly a lot – there was no attempt to stratify opinions and they used thematic coding which is open to considerable bias..The ‘people’ in many cases were organisations:
” the largest group (35%) identified themselves as members of the public ( that’s a grand total of 90)
12% identified themselves as academics or researchers, ( probably left wing 🙂 )
8% were from the Voluntary and Community Sector,
7% were judicial or legal professionals,
      6% were from a business”
They responded to 38 set questions which were based on statistics, many of which did not break down the type of crime involved.
So the answers were opinions from potentially unqualified and potentially bias people themselves.
Just one quick look at the stats shows why they use BAME and don’t split it…in fact in the statistics provided there is evidence white criminals get harsher treatment ( crown court) and consistently Asian offenders are the least harshly (use that word with caution) treated than any other group
So BBC if you are going to comment on a report perhaps it’s best to read it first and look at the evidence on which it is based.
As I said I suspect that is why David Lammy is being very careful not to push the overt racism angle based on this report.

JamesArthur, well spotted – when sites use statistics like 80% it should be followed by (8 out of 10 interviewed) for example.

I noticed this yesterday the difference in saying marrying first cousin has a chance of baby being born with defects at 3%, now compare a percentage to saying “Last year 200 babies (made up figure) were born with life impeding conditions, that mean they will need 100% care for the rest of their lives, that could have been easily prevented if the tradition (which is not mandatory) of first cousin marriages is stopped.”

This is much stronger than there is a 3% chance your baby will be born with a defect if you carry on your condition – most people don’t think bad things happen to them, it only happens to other people. We all think we are in the 97% it will be OK group.

It’s amazing that these are the kind of people who usually scream about the hideous British colonialism but are now suddenly devoted followers of our colonies. Likewise everyone seems to be forgetting that although unfortunate, this is known as the hurricane season. That being that it is a recognised timeframe during which hurricanes will normally appear.

What next, huge outrage that the leaves are beginning to fall from the trees until someone reminds them that we are approaching Autumn and this usually happens in this time period.

You can just feel though that the only reason that they are focused on the hurricanes in far flung places is just to force their climate change ‘ let’s switch off all energy and go back to the middle ages’ policy down our throats.

And really, so 14 people have died and 4 in the Mexico quake, do we really ultimately care? Has the world shrunk to such an extent that we feel the need to outpour grief for a small number of people that we don’t know and have no bearing on our lives. She also visited a charity, Hart House , which helps kids with learning difficulties. One of my British friends , who lives in Gambia and helps with that charity, emailed me that she was really down-to-earth and genuine ” Not like that ( expletive deleted ) Geldof “. LOL !

Well said. I think people have to start getting their head around the fact that living on this planet requires give and take. If you live and farm on the side of a volcano because the soil is lush, you run the risk of being caught out when it explodes. If you live in a warm climate that is prone to rainy seasons, monsoons and hurricanes at certain times of the year, then enduring them is the unfortunate price of living somewhere that offer glorious weather for most of the rest of the year.

I do laugh at the Beeb banging on about this being the most powerful storm in history. No it’s a category 5 hurricane. Hence if there is already a classification in place to measure it, surely that indicates that something like it has existed before otherwise there wouldn’t be a bracket for it. For all their sneering contempt for the Daily Mail, it’s incredible how ridiculously sensationalist the Beeb can be.

Payne, good post – I was left thinking that as well as you. The BBC is becoming totally see-through. Hopefully, lots of people will wake up to this bias and complain to the DG. When Lord Hall’s desk disappears each morning under a sackload of mail, perhaps the BBC will pay attention and get some reforms going.

“You can just feel though that the only reason that they are focused on the hurricanes in far flung places is just to force their climate change ‘ let’s switch off all energy and go back to the middle ages’ policy down our throats.”

Don’t agree that they want to switch off all energy. They want all that is left for themselves.

What they want is more & more taxes applied to things other than income, using Global Warming & Climate Change as an excuse, so they are able to pay less tax on their high incomes (comprised of money already taxed when the Licence Fee-payer earned it) and enjoy endless holidays and flights and taxi rides and long-distance rail commutes. They can also accumulate more wealth that way, too, investing in properties, classic cars, art, etc. and pass it on to their children while supporting and applauding Socialism.

IF someone were allowed to do research into how biased society is against white men there would be shocking results. You’re explicitly told on some job applications that they would prefer to employ someone who is not white! The whole modern obsession with ‘diversity’ is essentially anti white racism. Celebrate diversity means celebrate anti white bias.

      Brother,
Haven’t we all been filling out job applications for years with “Ethnic” monitoring forms included in the application process?

They are worded something like this……

“Ethnic origin: Tick one box from the section below to indicate your ethnic group. The categories are as
recommended by the Equality and Human Rights Commission.”

They always include a disclaimer statement like this …

” It is unlawful to discriminate on the grounds of sex, race, nationality, ethnic origin, marital status,
age, sexuality, religious belief or disability. In order to ensure the effectiveness of our policy and to meet legalrequirements, we monitor the numbers of staff in post and the numbers of applicants for employment, training, and promotion by reference to the characteristics listed below. ”

I have often thought to myself-
“Why are they asking me what race/religion I am?”
“If they aren’t considering my race important for this job why are they asking me?”

I have suspected for years (especially in the case of public sector jobs)
That they are deliberately withholding jobs from English whites so they can fulfil their “diversity” quotas

All applicants are equal but some are more equal than others.

Read ‘The rise of the equalities industry’ by Peter Saunders. It costs over a billion pounds a year and is based on the entirely false premise that unequal outcomes means unequal opportunity. When their progress is bad they use this to ask more money to try and fix the supposed problem! Nothing succeeds like failure in the equalities industry.

What we should have done at least a month ago, of course, and as any Guardian columnist would know, is to have built an artificial storm-proof island fully and permanently staffed and supplied with all the required resources, including large sums of money, preferably in gold coin. An automatic change of government, catalysed by the situation, would naturally see Diane Abbott and David Lamy fulfilling the roles all their previous experience has endowed, thus solving the situation and easing the disgrace at a stroke.
Only then could we redress our sad and deeply offensive tardiness.

Additionally, worshipping at shrines is considered idolatry under Saudi Arabia’s austere official Wahhabi school of Islam and it is unclear which Islamic historical sites pilgrims might be lured to after years of neglect.

Funny, isn’t it, how Lord Bell (and also his link to the Conservative Party and Margaret Thatcher) is so often mentioned but there is rarely, if ever, reference, never as far as I have heard to a Labour Party backroom boy & grandee, David Hill. David Hill worked in No.10 for Tony Blair but left in the nick of time, when Gordon Brown became PM, to work for Bell Pottinger.

I am a sad git as spend most of my day looking at research and so had to look at this..it is one of the worst pieces of research I have seen for a long while. Certainly the conclusion and recommendations don’t fit with the body of the study. For example to say Muslims have a harder time getting into higher education and then to interview 40, the majority of which were in or had been to higher education is a bit odd – and if they did the same to working class white kids (boys) current statistics would probably find similar or worse results. Very little is made of the fact that girls are constrained by cultural attitudes and a lot is made of not enough support, too much bullying, and islamophobia. All in all another waste of public money that basically says none of it is down to culture and lack of integration and everyone else has to change …I am all for an honest and open discussion but this type of report is just flannel….

        Boy holding bicycle wheel.
Women wearing Union Jack as a Hijab.
Women holding hands together in heart formation.
Gay man holding hands in front of rainbow flag with HOPE on it.
Women with female symbol on cheek.

        – Does this represent Britain or the British Broadcasting Corporation’s view of the world?
Here are some of the comments ….click on the image to read them if you want ….

This montage is extremely flawed. The BBC just can’t let go of the EU (unlike the rest of British people). And when was the last time you saw a muslim waving – let alone wearing a Union Flag?

BBC News Hello Larry, thanks for your feedback. We included the EU flag picture because we wanted to reflect the fact that the unfolding story of Brexit is of interest to our audiences. The woman wearing a Union flag themed headscarf is speaking at a vigil after the attack on Manchester.

Usual Rubbish…..EU flag ..tick… woman in a burka… tick… generic images of ‘love and hope’.. tick… sooner we all stop paying for this biased garbage the better. News? Stick to Poldark.

Wtf BBC you are truly anti British!…your a disgrace to th country!..why do we pay the licence fee for this…biggest swindle ever!

Given their election coverage and the entire output of R4 so called comedy, the BBC might as well chant their banner to a Labour Party logo and be open about it….

A picture of the EU flag, a refugee, a muslim woman using the flag as a headscarf, two white girl social justice warriors, and a cuck. BBC, you really aren’t trying to hide your left-wing bias anymore, are you?

This montage just shows why we need to get rid of the licence fees

I think it’s a great cover photo, representing the current themes. It probably will change in some time. Those who poke(or puke) at it and rant their criticism, wouldn’t like anything anyway, and I’m glad they’re not in charge to put cover photos for public organisations. People do need to see visual images of love and hope in the midst of chaotic and painful events. This is what makes us Human, with capital H.

Strait up Globalist Propaganda is what this comes across as. UK soverignty needs to be reestablished so we are free to deport all the radical extremists and known terrorists. Just “Hope” for the best and follow the Soros agenda is only going to lead to more carnage of innocents. Its a disgrace how media contributed to letting it get this bad already by closing down and limiting debate for years. How fequent do the attacks have to become for the deluded ivory tower idealists to pull their head out of the sand? Hope and tweeting prayers isnt going to do anything you bunch of muppets

I think it is absolutely outrageous that the BBC can get away with such obvious bias and yet we all have to pay for it! Not one of these photos is aimed at representing the millions of us on the Right who pay their licence fee.

Come on beeb. You’ve got the EU, a bicycle, and a hijab in there; these are all things the right hate.
I suggest for the bottom row you include the white cliffs of Dover, the Queen and some enormous piece of expensive military hardware (perhaps an aircraft carrier?), as that is the kind of stuff my grandparents seem to like.

Oh my God. The right wing children are crying for their safe spaces again. They call everyone else whingers but can’t even look at a flag or an ethnic minority without freaking out. Grow up lads.

Hi, I am from Asia. I used to like your news alot but nowadays with your clear leftist bias and Islamic appeasement crap, I doubt you people have the credentials to report world news .

“We included the EU flag picture because we wanted to reflect the fact that the unfolding story of Brexit” So where’s the British flag

Wow that really brought the racist s out in force. So much hate must be very wearing to keep fuelled. BTW you racist lot don’t talk for me and in addition I don’t want to let the eu go either. It protects my human rights and civil liberties and with so many vocal bigots around I think that is useful.

What a disgrace you are BBC, my license fee pays for the BBC wanton bias towards the EU yet the BBC claims to be impartial. Well at least your not lying any more and you’ve put it out there that the BBC is 100% pro EU and anti Brexit and such I will now be cancelling my licence fee and will never again watch one of your appalling shows and hopefully as many many more of us who are disgusted at the BBC”s pro EU stance do the same and cancel their fees the BBC will close down and you all lose you jobs. Shame on the BBC and its vile anti British staff

Why don’t you just put the Tories symbol on your cover photo instead? Since all the news you report (or fail to report) seems to be in their favour. And to think you still claim to be an unbiased news channel.

.. very interesting, there were plenty more …

The bBC is currently spreading the message that the Government has been slow to help the people of Anguilla after Hurricane Irma. It hit Wed and Thurs and RFA Mounts Bay was delivering stores as of Thurs and is now in British Virgin Islands doing likewise.

As you can see, RFA Mounts Bay is something of a big ship (16,000 tonnes) with the ability to land stores and aid quickly. (Such as clearing equipment). Regards the quip about French and Dutch troops. The French have a military base in the region and the Dutch sent two ships
HNLMS Zeeland (A Holland-class offshore patrol vessel which comes in at 3,750 tonnes)
HNLMS Pelikaan ( is a logistic support vessel which comes in at 1,150 tonnes and a crew of 15)

Neither can carry heavy equipment and are dwarfed by the RFA Mounts Bay by 3 times. The ship carries a specialist disaster relief team – drawn from the Royal Engineers and Royal Logistics Corps – as well as heavy plant for lifting and shifting and emergency kit and shelters provided by the Department for International Development. Engineers have already sealed a potentially-dangerous fuel leak at Anguilla’s main petrol dump, restored power to the island’s sole hospital and handed out shelters providing temporary homes for people left homeless by the storm. They also cleared the runway which was declared safe for relief flights.
That last part in bold is the important bit. Which explains why planes have already landed with more following.
