When Toby Young was forced to quit hs position it was the talk  of the BBC, when Labour’s Munroe Bergdorf buggers orf it’s buried on the politics page and concentrates on his excuses whilst avoiding mentioning the actual comments that were so offensive such as hairy, barren lesbians and gay bashing.

“How the bBC whitewashes the tonsils of the anti Semitic leader of the Labour party “
Labour launches probe into anti-Semitic Facebook claims
Labour has launched an investigation into claims party members posted anti-Semitic comments on a closed Facebook group dedicated to Palestinian rights. An anti-Semitism group said evidence gathered by the blogger David Collier suggested Jeremy Corbyn was said to be among members of Palestine Live until just before he became leader in 2015. Labour said there was no suggestion Mr Corbyn had made any anti-Semitic posts. The Labour leader was unaware of the alleged comments, the spokesman added.

So did anybody see the above story about what a racist bigot Corbyn is, Not on the main page, not on the Uk, England page but it can be found hidden on the politics page . Which is strange as this is a very serious allegation especially after Corbyn handed over a peerage to human rights champion Shami Chakrabarti for finding no anti-semtism inside the labour. And yet now we find the Labour leader belongs to a racist facebook group. and yet not only has the bBC tried to hide this salient story from the masses, it gives it the full whitewash the tonsil treatment in which to allow Labours breath to smell as nice as their mullahs dick.

Taking of dicks, well actually chicks with dicks, this story about that bloke who demands we treat him as a woman, whom labour signed up and who resigned the other day was given the full publicity treatment by the….bBC. where the bBC painted the picture he was a victim of the right wing media.I quote:
“This is a decision I’ve made due to the endless attacks on my character by the Conservative right wing press and relentless online abuse.”
Nothing of the sort bBC, he was exposed as a racist bigot and yet its a conservative problem, and now we have something similar where the leader of the labour party has been caught out and it whitewash time. Its as if the bbC has an agenda.

The bBC, the biggest defender and promoter of intolerance in the UK paid for by you

OK it’s 8pm on the 8th and that story doesn’t feature on the politics page even though it was released only 24 hours ago
Newssniffer lists it as just a straight post at 19:15 on March 7th (no updates/edits)
The POLITICS index page does now contain mostly March 8th stories , but it does contain ONE march 6th story
..it contains no Labour stories now
(The internet archive samples the page 3-5 time/day, I can’t yet see the March 7th edits)

Around 25 tweets mention the story
The BBC did NOT tweet the story

I watched BBC last night (actually, I was reading while the wife had it on) and couldn’t fail to notice that, for once, the BBC didn’t take the opportunity to promote BAMEs, to their credit. It was DIY SOS where hundreds of local tradesmen volunteered to convert the house of a policeman severely injured in the Westminster Bridge attack. They could so easily have brought the many ethnics to the forefront of the programme pushing the good ol’ cockneys, Yorkshiremen and Essex guys to the back, as they do in so many programmes. But no, not one to be seen

It’s the same with the London Marathon. All those running for prize money are African. With very few exceptions (fingers of one hand), all those running to raise money for charity are Anglo Saxon. Also the spectators – all white in a city that certainly isn’t.

Don’t worry .. it will never happen again !
I have been watching ‘Shetland’ enjoying it’s rugged quintessentially British flavour. However I have now gone right off it as they have somehow turned this programme about a local murder into the rise of the ‘far right’ in Norway ! Just how they managed that contortion heaven knows.
As with all BBC production now there is no natural flow to a drama etc , just a preconceived set of ‘ values ‘ that have to be woven into their output, this is why I seem to struggle and get bored , as all production follows a set pattern that has to include certain ideologies that don’t fit the story line hence ‘Shetalnd’ has now become ‘Shitland’, any decent story that comes out of their drama programmes is clearly by accident and not intent.

I seem to be having trouble with this site today, I can’t edit. Rather than say certain ideologies don’t fit the story line in my above post I should have said that.. certain ideologies wedged in don’t fit the cultural settings of many dramas.. Shetland being a good example.

            • Up2snuff says:

Be riveted and wriggle no longer! It was all fairly simple.

Marwan came from a culture that was ‘other’ and woefully neglected. One unknown or ignored in the West. Iwona did not disappoint. A repentant tone of voice for that dreadful fault of our blinkered, delinquent Western society. No. She did not refer to China or Egypt, however, but to that of the places of Marwan’s birth and upbringing in the Middle East.

Then our Curator for the day had to repeatedly contradict herself in the remainder of the quarter hour.

Image making, especially of the human form, is Haram in Islam.

Marwan’s father did not approve of his literary & artistic interests and his desire to be educated in them. Now, there’s a surprise!

He had to move to Germany to pursue an arts-based education.

Marwan was so good and so successful, he did not really achieve recognition until late in life.

I searched out some of his images. Interesting. Very contemporary. Redolent (some might say derivative) of some of the works of Lucian Freud and Francis Bacon work and/or the teachers and artists that influenced Bacon and Freud.

If there is a significant something about Marwan, it is certainly not unique and not solely that of a Middle Eastern (Islamic) culture as far as I know: the multi-layering of paint on canvas as works are continually remade until considered finished by the artist.

Pure, current (and typical) BBC propaganda but assailed, in the end, by reality.

Iwona Blazwick will no doubt be hoping for more work from the BBC and more money from TV Licence Fee-payers. Perhaps on the next remake of Civilisation?

The BBC will continue to subtly follow the Guardian liberal/left position that the youth of today are denied a good future by the antics of older selfish generations . Funnily enough they keep Ken Clarke , Vince Cable , foghorn Soubrey et al on the airwaves , people who won’t relinquish their opportunity for appearing on Question Time and keeping power .
Nor does the eighty years old BBC relinquish its monopoly in favour of younger stations like LBC .

The BBC have recently had North Korean levels of glorification and exultation of women’s suffrage, yet they want to disenfranchise those over 50 too set in their ways, half of whom are women. Presumably, the male, stale and pale should never have been given the vote anyway. Leftist positions are simply self-contradictory nonsense. I loved the part where Robinson got various confused proles in Mansfield to tie themselves in knots over who to let in. Such fun. One prole even started his comment with the classic “I’m not a racist but…”. I imagine the producer did the nose trick with his latte at that point.

I didn’t expect anything from Robinson, and the sneery left wing entitled waste of space did not disappoint me in the slightest.

The definition of dignity is “worthy of respect”. Respect is gained from wisdom and sincerity. These discussions are lewd, shallow and without a point other than the clear attempt to shock and garner attention. It looks desperate. And its sad to see women looking desperate for attention using such cheap tactics.

The other observation – Its all well and good to find and challenge boundaries. I don’t see this type of base provocation at other groups from the BBC though: Little talk about vagina burqas for instance?

Their Mo Farah ‘racism at the airport’ story was so pathetic.

    1. He merely ‘felt’ he was being racially harassed. If someone had called him names it would still be absolutely ridiculous that this should be a news story, but that he merely ‘felt’ it in spite of objective evidence to the contrary makes it even worse.

    2. Why can’t the BBC establish the facts before running the story? You must not be aggressive and start filming around airport security; if security did not ‘harass’ you when you had broken the rules like that they would not be doing their job properly, and airports are targets for terrorists. Sorry, multi millionaire Mo, but the lives of other passengers trump your feelings.

It’s like the ‘hate crime’ against an aslylum seeker which was supposedly perpetrated by a white racist but the aggressor was in fact an immigrant himself; or the ‘racist’ murder of the Polish man in the wake of the Brexit vote, which turned out to be nothing of the sort. One could give countless other examples.

Funded to the tune of £3.7 billion – is it really so hard to establish basic facts? The narrative was too tasty which is why ‘journalists’ are often merely activists i.e. fake news.

    3. When Lord Hall talks of all the noble work the BBC does, what he means is trawling social media to regurgitate posts from their favoured individuals – something anyone can do better for free, as we can choose exactly whom we want to follow.

    4. Do they really have to lecture us on racism all the time when it has been so spectacularly defeated, to the extent that this pathetic non event is the best they can get – a drugs cheat kicks off at an airport then plays the victim? (He is not officially a doper, but his reaction when accused could not have been more telling. Farah must never take up poker.).

The terrible irony of all the diversity nonsense is that it came to the fore just when genuine racism was beginning to recede dramatically. ‘Diversity’ is based on the same principles as racism i.e. skin colour trumps character; it seeks to entrench the divisions we battled so long to eradicate, and of course the BBC is front and centre of this dangerous and divisive poison.

You are right of course. But for a few absolute fringe nutters, the frequency and intensity of race-based hostility is overwhelmingly directed towards the mainstream white/Western culture. 50% of Muslims in the Dispatches Ch4 programme believe homosexuality should be illegal for instance (Hate crime perchance?); 2 in 3 would not tell the police if someone they knew became involved with terrorist sympathisers. (Presumably, therefore, their hatred is so deep they’d be prepared to be complicit with maiming and death than go against their fellow Muslims. That’s quite some level of hatred).

“Racism” is dog-whistle marketing – and serves its purpose to call brothers to arms and either defeat a perceived threat or make a show of unity on efforts to shift wealth and power for reasons that are generally illegitimate. Its a political act (i.e. one where words are for effect and not for their meaning) borne of grudge-fuelled hatred and stark ambition.

Back to the arrogance of Lord Hall, as blogged about by Alan, earlier in the week. I found this from Hall gobsmacking:

‘The country needs a BBC that helps society understand itself better … that explores our nation’s differences passionately and robustly … that projects British creativity and values globally … that reminds us every day of the things we hold in common, not just the things that divide us.’

The country needs none of those things, especially from the BBC who seems to want to decide how we live our lives. This comment in the Mail, sums it up:

‘If the BBC was less biased, if the BBC rediscovered its integrity, if the BBC was more open, if the BBC started making programmes, once more, that entertained us rather than lectured us, if the BBC stopped using all of its programmes to try to influence and control our thinking, if the BBC drained the swamp and got rid of all the left wing agitators and activists that have flocked to their ranks…if the BBC started to tell the truth some more…if Lord Hall resigned and was replaced by someone who would actually do all of these things…perhaps then the BBC may regain the affection of a large proportion of the British people.’

The BBC is out of control and beyond reform. It’s too big, too bossy, too powerful. On reflection Hall should be sacked

I was looking at some old documentaries of the Falklands War recently and then some of the stuff around that such as An Ungentlemanly Act and the Falklands Play. I didn’t get to see these last two as the former is quite pricey on Amazon and the latter virtually unobtainable.

It reminded me though that even back in the 80’s when the Beeb commissioned the play that they then sat on the production for 20 years for fears that it’s portrayal was too pro- Thatcher.

No mind that maybe she was an incredible woman and a wonderful leader who handled the crisis better than anyone else could have. Oh god no, the play made her out to look good so let’s leave it in the can for years but exalt Meryl Streep’s performance when The Iron Lady came out that sidelined her considerable achievements to focus on her deteriorating mental health.

Even though the Beeb benefitted greatly from tagging along with the Task Force and Brian Hanrahan’s immortal “I counted them out and I counted them all back” line was regularly used, they still couldn’t bring themselves to sign off something that might have shown her in a good light.

Great post – I’d like to explore a more radical disagreement though to this bit….

“The country needs a BBC that helps society understand itself better … that explores our nation’s differences…{} not just the things that divide us.’”

No it doesn’t. This country needs a dynamic set of stations offering news from different perspectives across the political and philosophical spectrums, to achieve these ends above; otherwise, it is like saying we need one political party to represent all our interests. Its a hapless goal given the inevitability of human biases.

What we need is need a dynamic marketplace of ideas in which all interpretations on news stories can be heard, explored and challenged by the population. The best way to do it would follow the way the regulators have shaken up telecoms, energy and other industries: Remove incumbent privilege (i.e. the licence fee) and grant licences to a number of competitors for news provision. Let entertainment be “unbundled” from news and access – as per the rest of digital space like YouTube, Amazon etc. There are standards where no news is allowed to be untruthful, but the representation of stories is a broad church; as per our newspapers; and let the most persuasive, trustworthy and engaging providers be the winners.

The BBC’s figures would do what the Guardian’s did (and British Gas!)

The BBC did cover the Monroe Bergdorf story on Radio 4 but it did so in such a way that it made Bergdorf out to be the victim!

The story which could and should have concentrated on Labours astonishing lack of judgement after Monroe was sacked by loonie leftie French company Loreal for anti white racist comments, it was not a surprise to find that she had made a series of unpleasant tweets about someone else.

Comparing this treatment to that Toby Young is perfectly reasonable as it shows the double standards at play.

And just to finish, there is no point in criticising the BBC and then deliberately misgendering someone. I can tell you exactly how this would play with anyone into the left, and you might have well wrapped a bow around this piece and handed it them.

It just gives the opportunity for them to accuse you of every imaginary ‘hate, ism, phobia’ etc they’ve ever dreamed up. Your arguments then lost all their power all because you couldn’t bring yourself to use the correct pronoun. If you cannot bring yourself to play the game which they set the rules to, then you have lost, and there’s no point in trying to make any point outside the echo chamber.

This morning the BBC Radio 4 Today program had some Left wing extremist on to talk about domestic violence.
While the Leftie was careful not to ascribe any gender to the perpetrators the BBC were not as bothered, stating on many occasions that women were always the victims, and men the perpetrators. The phrases used were a ‘vast majority of victims being women.

The BBC’s own print arm, the Grauniad disagrees:
“More than 40% of domestic violence victims are male, report reveals
Campaign group Parity claims assaults by wives and girlfriends are often ignored by police and media ”

    https://www.theguardian.com/society/2010/sep/05/men-victims-domestic-violence

This is for once a provable example of BBC bias in favour of one of the Leftie favoured groups – women at the expense of a hated group, men. It shows the BBC are guilt of one of the meaningless ‘isms’ Sexism.

Not that anything will be done of course the BBC doesn’t do apology humility, or even admit it ever gets it wrong – despite the evidence that it does in some cases deliberately.

A memory hole is any mechanism for the alteration or disappearance of inconvenient or embarrassing documents, photographs, transcripts, or other records, such as from a website or other archive, particularly as part of an attempt to give the impression that something never happened.[1][2] The concept was first popularized by George Orwell’s dystopian novel Nineteen Eighty-Four, where the Party’s Ministry of Truth systematically re-created all potential historical documents, in effect, re-writing all of history to match the often-changing state propaganda.

    Hello people,
My name is Simon Kisby. I intend to comment occasionally on this blog with the intention of offering a different take on the issues discussed herein. I’ll endeavour to be polite to fellow commenters at all times, but reserve the right to direct any ire I might feel toward certain public figures – as we’re all entitled to do. I have been here before, commenting on a few threads, but not for some years now. In the interim, I’ve learnt that making strident and bellicose remarks are not the way to promote interesting debate, so yeah.

Regarding Alan’s observation about Jones and Bergdorf. I suggest that Jone’s departure was more newsworthy because his was to be a position of influence in a government regulator effecting all children, while Bergdorf was to be an opposition advisor with only nominal influence on what is, practically speaking, a niche concern, albeit one that has an outsize profile in public discourse these days.

For me, the question raised by both cases is why anyone with aspirations in public life would go anywhere near Twitter, especially while in their cups.

      Hello backatcha, Simon.

Looking forward to hearing from Gotitaboutright2 soon.

Twitter is a double edged sword to be sure, and certainly not to be accorded the heft it is by, say, the BBC, both for sourcing or disseminating supposed ‘news’. But it can be a start for more traditional investigation, and often an insight into the mindset and skills of those who would claim to represent or speak for the nation. Jasmine Lawrence was, I believe, totally sober before posting what got her promoted.

Your suggestion on Jones vs. Bergdorf is noted. As is the relative equivalence. However, you surely cannot be excusing the BBC’s deep six editorial integrity with spats concerning those it holds dear with its DAFTCON WAAH!!! flounces for weeks of those the BBC has it in for?

Being polite in debate is always good, and really does not need to be articulated unless there is doubt for some reason.

It can always crank an eyebrow when a ‘you lot’ creeps in or Alan is subject to postscript Coulrophobiaism.

        Guest Who,

Having registered on the site this morning, I thought I’d make a point of introducing myself ‘formally’ as it were, since I recall facing accusations of sock puppetry the last time I was here. If your reference to a Gotaboutright2 is in that direction, please be assured that I really can’t be bothered with all that palava. Really. What you see is what you get.

It isn’t just the BBC that accords heft to Twitter, it is a gift that keeps on giving for all journos, for the reasons that you outline yourself.

As for the Beeb’s flounces, I assess that on a case-by-case basis, as I’ll presume you do. Perhaps it’s worth mentioning here that media monitoring is my job, which is a reason why I find this blog of interest. I have to approach the matter forensically, rather than from a partisan perceptive – although. of course the two are not mutually exclusive. However, I’m in a position to compare and contrast the coverage of stories in all the various titles (national press rather than broadcast being my purview) and draw my own conclusions.

There is often a partisan presumption (from both left and right) that all media outlets must cover stories in lockstep, which is nonsense. Of course the BBC is a special case because of its public service remit. but that doesn’t preclude having to make it’s own editorial decisions. Frankly, I’m glad that Paul Dacre or Chris Evans do not set the Beeb’s news agenda – all of the time. For some, that is a matter of deep despond.

For the record, I regard people such as Bergdorf, who regard their ‘identity’ as a worthwhile platform in public life, as tiresomely self-absorbed. Sometimes, the advocacy is well-meant, but it often boils down to themselves in the end.

Sorry, I have no idea what ‘Coulrophobiaism’ is. Also; I can go on a bit.

      Welcome, Balance.

      You make a good point.

Would you agree, though, that the BBC went overboard in going after Toby Young (not Jones, but I understand the confusion – we’ve all made typos) with nary a mutter about Munroe Bergdorf?

A lack of balance in my view. Do, please, feel free to disagree.

Yes, Toby Young! Thanks for the spot.

I remember Young being a story of considerable interest for all the papers as well as the BBC, for good reason, since his views on education were well known and of a very particular slant, and the Office for Students is the new regulatory authority . It was essentially a ‘conflict of interest’ story. Or should have been. Whereas Bergdorf is just a silly person. That was an ‘unsound judgement’ story – or should have been.

The two cases are not really comparable except that Twitter was used -as it is so often – as a political weapon.

Besides, did you really want to see more of Bergdorf? At least Toby Young is value for money, whatever you think of him.

        • Roland Deschain says:

One can argue about whether they are directly comparable. News stories rarely are when you dig down to the detail. What seems to me incontrovertible is that the BBC has taken at face value and headlined his claims that he was forced off Twitter due to abuse. Whilst glossing over what it was he said that caused criticism. (Sorry, but I’m not going to play the game of “my gender is what I say it is”.)

Balance, you are welcome. Reading your post, images of Owen Jones flashed through my mind but a hasty rewind fortunately appeared to clear them away.

While I long neither to see images of Young or Berdorf, I felt that the BBC readily and repeatedly joined in the Young witch-hunt over Tweets made in the distant PAST while making no real comment about Bergdorf’s much more CURRENT racism. Agree with your overall point but the degree to which the Beeb indulged one but not the other was kind of obvious, do you not agree?

          • Balance4You says:

            Roland, Up2snuff,

I agree that, the BBC gave far more coverage to Young than to Bergdorf. That is undeniable, and what one would expect, given the relative public interest of the two affairs.

To answer you question, No, it wasn’t obvious to me at the time that the BBC was indulging in a witch hunt in one case and not the other, for partisan reasons.

Perhaps if the Office for Student’s hadn’t been launched on January 1 and if Young hadn’t hung on to his appointment throughout the first week of January -the year’s slowest news week, he might not have received as much coverage from the press, If Parliament were sitting, if things were actually happening at the time, then it is reasonable to presume Young’s predicament would have been pushed down the agenda.

This is not to say the BBC’s editorial decisions cannot be questioned however. In searching Bergdorf on the site, I found a clip on the Newsbeat site of Bergdorf blowing hard on white racism, in a rant passing off as comment on the government’s racism audit. Check it out, it’s risible stuff. Don’t ask me to account for that!.

in that page he does mention Cox
        – Thursday’s Marveen story (the one we are talking about) is cos the reports were released by StC
It doesn’t mention Cox, there 2 reasons why that is strange
#1 It does mention the disrupted board meeting , and the protester there had worked with/complainedOf Cox
(she was on today’s Radio2Vine Show)
#2 Anyone explaining the story in the pub would begin by mentioning Cox

        He just POLITELY replied

I fear that’s probably down to space. The 2nd piece is shorter and had to compress the detail of the first with the details STC released of the second report – which also failed to mention Brendan Cox.
We have to report what we actually know, but you’re right to raise questions

He then refers me to StC

Gibraltarians know what they want to preserve but Al Beeb is intent on changing it irrevocably for the U.K.

DanHan in today’s Telegraph adds a bit which I missed as I was brewing my morning coffee –

“Why does the BBC hate Gibraltar?

There was a storm of protest this week when a BBC presenter asked a British woman whether her community felt any loyalty to this country when, as he put it, “you look African”. Furious listeners accused the corporation of the kind of overt, biological racism that Europe had not seen since the Thirties.

Actually, I’m playing a little trick on you. What the presenter (the Today Programme’s amiable and courteous Justin Webb) actually said was, “you look Spanish”. The British woman to whom he put the question was Gibraltarian. Naturally, there was no protest whatever.

Gibraltar brings out a double-standard in some people. In general, the BBC likes the idea that we can all feel British, whatever our backgrounds. Quite right, too: defining our nationality in credal rather than congenital terms has, over the years, made us a strong and successful nation. So why not cheer when Gibraltarians – a mix, ancestrally, of Maltese, Genoese, Jewish, Moroccan and Portuguese, stippled with British, Spanish and Indian – proclaim their loyalty? I have an uneasy feeling that it is precisely their loudly expressed patriotism that is, for some Beeb types, the problem.”

The ‘toxic’ nature of Propaganda instead of good, thorough, patient, news journalism: the BBC on Radio4 have completely failed to join any other dots in the Skrypal ‘poisoning’ case.

While generalisations can be dangerous and as a rule upset the alt-Left (unless it is they making them), we know some things about ‘Russians’, a complexity of nationalities there in that word that maybe weakens my generalisation but so be it.

We know they tend to be unhappy in exile. They can be very, very patriotic and very, very attached to their homeland: mother Russia. We also know that alcohol can play a big part in their lives. Not a generalisation but now established medical science (so far): unhappiness + alcohol = more unhappiness and can lead to depression.

The BBC should be aware of the content of the above paragraph. They should know that. Most globally aware adults who pay attention to life and news and everything are aware of that.

Not once have the BBC suggested that Mr Skrypal and his daughter Yulia may have administered the poison themselves.

Please note: I am not stating this WAS a suicide pact with the attached possible benefit of making it look like ‘it woz the Kremlin wot dun it’ but it COULD have been. The possibility exists. Instead the BBC leap to judgement in all the news coverage that I have heard on R4. And they appear to use it to 1. to attack the Government, especially Boris Johnson, and, 2. to stir their libby glibly alt-Left agenda strains with which they seem anxious to infect everyone who listens to or views their output. Please note: I am not a fan of Boris Johnson. He was stupid in what he said in the House. He could and should have been considerably more statesman-like, especially as he is now in one of the four High Offices of State.

What does appear clear and established is that the BBC’s News & Current Affairs department has poisoned itself by its abandonment in the past ten years of integrity, political neutrality and high (some would say should be normal!) standards of news gathering and reporting together with good quality investigative journalism. This has led to a loss of memory and a lack of clear thinking by the BBC’s N&CA Dept.

They, too, are now in a catatonic state.

Our nation suffers as a result.

The blether on this this morning has got even worse with no-one, especially the BBC, paying a blind bit of notice to what they have been told on air by the chemistry experts. Fortunately, Lord Blair was rather more measured and soothed some BBC misconceptions and hysteria.

Yes, it could have been a Russian revenge hit. But everyone appears to forget that Skrypal/Skripal was a KGB officer AND spy AND double agent. He may have had opportunity to acquire a kit of this poison for himself for whatever motive for future use.

One essential question not asked by the BBC of the chemistry experts in their presently enfeebled and biased News condition: does this sort of poison go off? Does it deteriorate over time, and what time-frame, even when tightly sealed in multiple layers of containers? Could it have been brought into the UK a long time ago? Or does it have to be made and delivered to target within a short period of time?

Two and a half years ago, the coalition government was formed, and we made a clear promise to the British public. After thirteen years of uncontrolled mass immigration, this government would reduce and control immigration.

If you break promises then what should people believe?

Unite Against Fascism welcomes the decision by senior management at King’s College London, who have ‘postponed’ a meeting which would have featured the leader of the fascist Hungarian, Jobbik party, Gabor Vona. We sincerely hope the meeting is cancelled, for the long term. Vona should not have been invited.Vona had been due to speak at King’s College, London, on the Waterloo campus, this Friday.

The speed the Police jumped into this and arrested those 2 lads has amazed me. Once upon a time this would have been a quick trip to the office, disciplinary action taken and that was it. I’m not excusing racism at all, yet and a big yet. when somebody black comes out with racist remarks, (A certain Munro Berghoff perhaps) the very same bBC which has pushed the above story to the top of the news web page not only remains silent about racism from non -whites, it affords them an excuse. We see this time and time again be it Islamic rape gangs, Islamic hate mongers, Islamic terrorists, Black lives matter, Chicks with Dicks and even MPs (Lord Ahmed, Diane Abbott, Lamy)

Now as a non white person seeing this, all I see is the liberal do-gooders silencing well founded criticism when the shoe is on the other foot. In doing so, a growing number of the white population are gravitating towards people and groups who listen to what they are saying, in other words they are become polarised, becoming right-wing and eventually racist. Whilst the number on the right are growing they still represent a small number of the population, a number I should add which is dwarfed by the number of ‘conservative’non white people (Have you noticed how the bBC will never refer to a non white person as right-wing, racist but always as conservative) whose words are always taken out of context when caught out.

Good points. Its v sad because the biggest losers from not sharing a consensus of values are those who do not learn the ways we all get along. (“Social capital”, it is sometimes called).

I don’t think though that “racism” is necessarily what we get if the right-wing or libertarians become more polarised: I sense a very small number of populations of any creed seriously believe someone is inferior because of skin colour (aka racist). Hence the rejection of the BNP/NF and the levels of success of immigrants from different parts of Asia in the UK. There is no reason to think people would suddenly start holding racist beliefs, not least because they wouldn’t need to.

However, when minorities (however defined) create a sub-culture that identifies itself by, amongst other properties skin colour or religion, is militant about projecting its failings on to others in order to appropriate favours, while avoiding an equal burden of responsibility, the group embarks on a self-fulfilling act of self-ostracisation. (Think Scargill’s miners!)

The group will receive increasing criticism and resentment, particularly from working (not just white, but all) people who feel they make a fair sacrifice already for their pay cheque and they should too. However, it will not be the “race” of the group that garners such feelings, but the sub-culture – the shared presumptions and attitudes that project hostility, self-pity and entitlement.

What I think will happen is that tolerance and good-will runs out for such groups (rather as it did for the miners). To make it worse for them, the many Black people who took a different path, with greater self-determination, will be thriving; further demonstrating the role they played in their own circumstances and why pity is the last thing such groups should be getting.

We could well end up with, effectively, ghettos because the people there are drowning in their own anger and the majority of people outside are now numb to their never-ending story.

The US thinkers seem interesting – I particularly like Thomas Sowell, though he gets a mixed press in this article…..

There’s no shortage of people who would argue that they are. Concern about overpopulation (both in the UK and globally) is widespread, with many people believing that remaining “childfree” is the most ethical thing to do.

    – £9 million by your Government to tell you how to vote (paid by you).
    – £3.5bn by the BBC to say give up on your future (paid by you).
    – China have Government sponsored dating programme to ensure population continues. (UK give aid to China)

I`ve come across the new notion of “epistemocracy” this week.(Or epistocracy, being an alternative).
Once with Ed Stourton reviewing some anti-Trump book by a bloke called Brennan in the Washington Post. The other in some nasty hypocritical piece of crap by a Guardian licenced and approved Muslim lady called Nesrine Malik(any relation?).
I`d watch for it, sense it`s rise will be an Islamophobia kind of fashion to gull us into accepting the unacceptable.
I`m a word midwife-but I`d rather strangle this one at birth before it causes us endless problems.
The word is “elite, entitled dominance of the political process by the educated and knowledgeable, the reasoned and -who could guess-the liberal, passionate and left leaning nice people”. No more Trumps and Brexits allowed-that`s the excuse for this.
Keep an eye out for its rise-and put an eye out if someone suggests it in your presence.
