I can’t remember the source, but one analysis goes as follows: the world is fractionating into 3 tribes:
1) the Nomenklatura, which comprises all the groups fakenewswatcher mentions above; politicos, media, crony capitalists, bureaucrats,
2) the Outcasts, who are unemployables, dole bludgers, migrant hordes, basically anyone who leeches off the state.
3) everyone else, including everyone who does any productive work, from driving a bus to discovering a cure for cancer.
The problem is that groups 1 & 2 pay no tax, or have fancy shelters to minimise the dent in their huge earnings.
Group 3 pays all the tax, while having its values sneered at from above, and, incredibly, from below as well.

And it was heading upwards.
That, according to my understanding, was unsustainable in itself. Add to it the extraordinary high level of unemployment and inflation run by the Labour Government during a period of unprecedented economic growth and the necessity to support that with indirect and hidden and stealth taxes on Group 3, the earners’ and contributors’ group, then the seeds for economic collapse and the disasters of 2007-09 in the UK were well and truly sown.
The Labour Party and Blair and Brown would like you to believe it was bankers, and American bankers at that, who were the cause of the worldwide collapse.

When our democracy is being buried and hate speech laws are being used to strangle free speech, the powers at be will take no notice of a peaceful march, look at the 100s of thousands that protested against the Iraq war, nothing. Compare how they reacted when the free loaders went wild about the Poll Tax, or how the Irish border is being used in the Brexit negotiations or how the Religion of Peace is fawned to and I think it is clear why certain groups are listened to and others not.

Like it or not one can but take note that the England World Cup match captured a very large audience. Does she think that an entrepreneur gets up in the morning, risks capital, works from dawn to dusk and spends sleepless nights worrying about a business to please a me-me dimwit spouting meaningless words like sustainability and diversity?
It is never possible to under-estimate the depth of hatred many on the left feel for private enterprise. They can’t stomach the idea that all the public services, the foreign aid, the NGOs and charities are funded by people who work in wealth creating companies. Any idiot can spend money – just look at the current Labour frontbench – the trick is to earn it in the first place. The idea that there is no freedom without economic freedom is entirely lost on blinkered people living in an elite bubble. Like Moran they believe that entrepreneurs should risk all with the aim of providing employees with an income for life. The education system at school and certainly university level does little to teach the economic facts of life. Most public sector teachers are hard left wing. The overall decline in education standards compared with a generation or two ago is staggering and a national disgrace. Former chief inspector of schools Sir Michael Wilshaw recently described England’s education system as “mediocre” and said it was foolish to claim otherwise. Having sold a publishing business a few years ago, he briefly and unwisely signed up for a music course at Kingston University. The BBC never tires of telling us that the British university system is the best in the world. In fact it is largely a waste of money designed to keep elite left wing public sector employees in remunerative employment while the young are lumbered with all the debt. Quite why students supported the recent strike by lecturers is a mystery to us all.
True there is some good teaching around – in science, engineering and medicine we are up there with the best. But most young people are not in these places of learning. They have been conned to take useless degrees at gruesome politically correct places called universities. located in nice party towns. Here they can expect their pockets to be relieved of upwards of £50,000 for the privilege of studying for a qualification that has little or no market value. A couple of generations ago an investigative mainstream news organisation such as the BBC would have had a field day with a lot of the stuff that masquerades as teaching in these so-called universities. These days it is scared stiff to go anywhere near the problem – one bloated publicly funded left wing organisation marinaded in its own sanctimonious elitist views – talk about the pot calling the kettle black.
You can study anything at university these days – so long as you have the cash. Hence my own personal experience with the music department at Kingston University. A few years ago over 60 universities offered music degrees, seemingly unaware that the subject had largely dropped off most school curriculums. The staff was faced with the tricky problem of teaching a difficult subject and keeping their jobs when suitable students had largely disappeared. An A level in music was sought but hardly any of the students seemed to possess one. So the staff tended to steer clear of the “M” word as much as possible. There was a module based on rhythm where a group banged mainly metallic objects in some sort of musical harmony. There was another course on music technology where there was little teaching since it just seemed to be assumed that tech savvy students would put together simple compositions using digital samples.
The composition class was a particular hoot. Obviously anything based on the western harmonic system was out of the question so students were required to “draw” a composition suggesting instructions, which would then be played by fellow classmates. One chap, who stuck out a bit since he knew something about music, was suitably appalled. The day the compositions were to be “performed”, he arrived with his “pretty picture” which was a five-page explosion of graphic fireworks. See if they like this nonsense, he declared triumphantly. Following a mass of “street art” doodles, his last instruction to the performers was to “shout cheeseburger, leave the room and slam the door”.
Needless to say the lecturer loved it and it received the highest mark in the class.
These days Kingston, in common with similar institutions, has moved its course to the popular music field. It probably had no choice – the gig was up. Quite why you need to pay over £9,000 a year for three chord pop is puzzling, not least because previous generations seemed to manage to work it out in their garages and bedsits. Kingston asks for an A level in music – no doubt for form’s sake since “other musical experience will be considered”.

What I find particularly sad is that kids don’t seem to be impressed by virtuosity any more. It simply doesn’t seem to register. I fear for his safety in any exposure to the public.there are powerful forces in the USA and the globalist world order who fear the President and rightly see him as the most serious threat to their hegemony that they have ever faced. Totally agree. If Remainers had behaved according to normal British democratic norms and accepted the choiceof the people then the negotiations would have been much easier and fruitful. But they have behaved like a fifth column seeking to undermine Brexit at every turn and collaborated with Brussels to do so, Ever since the GE result last year i have had no expectation that we would ever leave the EU in any meaningful way . The Remainers and Brussels took heart from the result and it fatally damaged the negociating position of thegovernment ( i agree that in many in the government probably welcomedthis weakening of the Leave position) .
In a few more months millions who voted Leave will realise that their votes count for nothing if they go against the elite and that ,therefore , democracy is dead in this country. What happens when this new reality strikes home is anyones guess but Remainers should not expect that all will return to normal. OG, there is a wonderful photo in the Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibition, currently on show at the Natural History Museum of a (juvenile – I think – or of a miniature species variant) seahorse that has found an alternative for, and is recycling, a plastic shaft cotton bud. It has clenched it in its tail and using it as a balance so that it can take a rest from swimming.
If Putin’s little helpers in the green movement didn’t keep blocking SAFE conversion of plastic to energy in incinerators, then there wouldn’t be so much waste plastic floating around.
..and we’d be buying less of Putin’s oil/gas.

Lynette, that is good news. We used to use a by-product of burning coal – the ash – to bulk up building products and keep the amount of expensive, environmentally unfriendly, concrete required to a minimum but that is obviously running out.
As far as I’m aware sea birds are the same as all the other birds – they have a crop and a gizzard, part of but preliminary to the alimentary canal. Food, or plastic, is swallowed and stored in the crop and from there passes to the gizzard where powerful muscles coupled with previously ingested grit grind any contents to a paste which is then passed by peristalsis to the stomach. A gizzard is non-selective, it can and will grind anything down to either edible or inedible particles. Edible particles are assimilated, inedible particles are ejected. End of.

I’m buggered if I’m going to be ‘told off’ by kids for my use of plastic. Not my fault guv if the oceans are awash with the stuff ! How many of these critics buy their milk in plastic bottles ? I’ve always used the milkman. How many have been joined at the hip for years with a bottle of water ? I take mine neat from the tap. How many have used supermarket c/bags ? I’ve used my own shoppers for decades. How many buy their kids plastic toys ? My upbringing had tin and wooden toys. Old style grocery shops packed your bags in paper bags, and the butcher/fishmonger wrapped up their produce in large white sheets of paper. Back in the 60’s when I was 16 I had a Saturday job in Wooly’s – serving loose biscuits from individual boxes, with a scoop and proper scales (I also wore the most god-awful white overalls), and always served up the biccies in white paper bags (an 8 hour day for the princely sum of 18/- or 90p ). So like I remember the Kennedy assassination, winning the World Cup, being backstage with the Stones, and the moon landing, I also remember a world devoid of single use plastic ! So sod off snowflakes !!
Back before Attenborough declared war on plastic I can remember the BBC broadcasting frequent programmes about the problem of food waste the the Third World.
The story was given an ecological slant in that we were told that there was already enough land under cultivation to grow food for everyone, but that a lot of the food was spoiled because third world producers didn’t have access to modern packaging – plastic. We didn’t need to plough up the savanna and destroy wild habitat, we just needed to give the farmers modern means to preserve their crops.
All those programmes have disappeared and now farmers everywhere are all supposed to abandon modern technology and allow food to rot on its way to market.
It reminds me of the BBC’s stories about the evils of felling the tropical rainforests, which suddenly become a “good thing” if the cleared land is to be used for bio-fuels.

What is never mentioned is our contribution to plastic waste is miniscule compared to these 5 Countries.

Why is the BBC News channel reporting the march in London, who want a say in the final deal, as a “anti-Brexit” march?
They could easily report that as a “pro-brexit” march from people who just want a say in getting a really good Brexit deal – but of course the BBC have to spin everything to fit their negative agenda.

YD – I have changed my views on UKIP
Batten is very impressive – he speaks well, debates well and is a lot more honest about the “Religion of Peace” than Farage ever was.
Time is getting short for parties to establish themselves – and I think Batten is pretty good on party disipline too. My only worry is whether UKIP may have been infiltrated by those more willing to elect “idiots” to keep it de-stabilised.
Batten may be the last chance we get to solve our problems here in the UKIP by conventional politics.

Before the demo I sat in a small square opposite Victoria station just a chilling a bit and I have to say I dont think I have ever been so ashamed to be British.
The station seemed to be vomiting up groups of what looked like generally to be very well healed professional types all draped in blue flags with gold stars and all appearing to be having a lovely time.
I have relatives who fought in both wars and in particular one Uncle who I never knew because he was drowned in the magazines of HMS Suffolk in the Norway campaign because the ship had been hit – These people gave their lives for our freedom and so we could stay an independent nation and keep our sovereignty and these well heeled children JUST WANT TO GIVE IT AWAY!
