Makes you wonder why he became an MP…especially as he is a GP and only works part time – maybe he would be better off working full time there as this means he is also a part time MP on a full time salary..
So Phillip Lee MP for Bracknell has defected to the Lib Dems in protest against the Push by Boris. Bracknell voted to leave so what do his constituents think of him now and how can he sit tight as their MP in a different turn-coat colour?

Defecting MP Phillip Lee just interviewed by the BBC. Towards the end the reporter asked him if his constituency voted leave and he pretended not to really know if they did nor not, mumbling and muttering, saying it was close or something.

I think “Mr” Lee epitomises why the whole thing has been so mired and laborious, the house is stuffed with self-important slugs who simply want to kill off Brexit any way they can, ignoring the voters and acting as if they were of no consequence.

We saw a couple of days ago Corbyn visit Manchester and several protestors voicing their opinions against him.
Thanks to Camerons incompetence we saw a Labour controlled Gestapo secret Police force arresting protestors including James Goddard, who was later released without any charge.

Politicising the Police the way Cameron did was a catastrophic error. Anyone with half a brain cell would have realised what Labour would do if given control, but it’s even worse than that as people have lost complete trust in the Police and now regard them as their enemy rather than being on their side.
The incompetence gets worse though as the fixed term parliament act now has handed Labour the power to control the Tory party and not allow them to resign and call a fresh election.
This Brexit crisis in Parliament is a direct result of what Cameron did while in office, and I can well remember the posts here criticising his leftism and odd policies. You don’t always realise the catastrophic nature until later but that is what politicians are supposed to foresee.
A minory of Tories – just 20 at a push are now able to hold the party hostage.
May was an appalling PM, but we shouldn’t forget just how bad Cameron was as well.

The Commons is going to do everything it can from stop Brexit from happening by voting against the government tonight. I wonder what the public reaction will be to their will, as expressed at the referendum, being frustrated.

Suicide
Earlier today the BBC website had a report about increasing suicides in UK . It had numbers and said 75% were male .
Yet I’ve just gone to look for it and found it gone off to the ‘health ‘section . It doesn’t give numbers any more – just numbers per 100000 which to means nothing .
The question I ask is ‘why’ ? Now that anything does and you can blame anyone for your own conduct – how come suicide rates are rising?
I do have my own personal explanation but it wouldn’t be very fashionable – some of the responsibility would be laid at the feet of the MSM propaganda but other reasons can be put forward
The BBC doesn’t go into the explanations as I think it is too close to home .
I suspect that the greatest category are (straight?) white males too, and coincidentally that is Al Beebs least favorite category.

Yes I fear your assessment is right . White male heterosexuals are to blame for everything . However when I read the report this morning young women aged around 19/20 are also most likely victims .
I suppose expectations causes depression and a downward drift if unchecked . I can’t see the aggressive positions the BBC takes on mixed gender issues much of a help to young people ( makes me feel old saying that ) . I’m waiting for someone to offer me a seat on a bus or tube ….
Fed – The bbc has been hard at it, undermining values and convictions held for many centuries, perverting reality with its ‘diversity’ obsession, keen to hype up climate emergency and other disaster scenarios.
It could have brought some feeling of stability, security and continuity into an environment dominated by ‘social media’ and lives blighted by the feeling that ‘everything is up for grabs’, struggling to cope with rapid change in almost every field.
It chose instead to lead the ‘revolution’, keep its elite well-paid, and pretend to care about the payers it is fleecing. With a few exceptions, quality has gone down the drain.
But it will not be held to account. Ofcom are useless as regulator, and the government has ignored the issues raised by the direction beeb has taken.
Let’s see how it fares if it gets the government of its choice: Corbyn’s Labour, perhaps with a dash of Swinson.
There will be much turning over in graves, if that happens, but beeb will blunder on, ever more prescriptive of everything we say and do, perhaps eventually a fully-fledged totalitarian tool.

It should be borne in mind that all this has been going on in a time of economic growth . It’s hard to know how matters will be when the economy turns down – which at some time it will .
On a more contemporary issue – if the traitor side of parliament passes a Remain act it will need the Royal Assent . Now I’ve been looking up the circumstances under which this can be with held…. one way seems to be if the PM advises it . So it would not be Law …. then close Parliament until 1 November …..

You describe the situation better than I could hope to . The problem is that the BBC is the only source of ‘news’ for most in the country. It is not news they are delivering – they are merely personal viewpoints based on the particular lifestyle and social circumstance of whichever Producer happens to be in charge.
Don’t get me started either on the ‘Entertainment’ side of their output . Pretty well rubbish most of the time. The flagship programmes they have destroyed or are in that process. ‘Strictly’ comes to mind.

Turned on the car radio, default on Radio 4, about 5:30 pm today to hear pm news conversation with frequent reference to the ‘Rebel Alliance’. What? Now the remainers regard themselves as a band of heroes battling against the evil Empire with Boris as Darth Vader.

Look at his smug, self-satisfied face when he pontificates about his ‘impartiality’, then “coins a phrase”, quoting the PM with a flicker of malice, and you know for sure.
He is about as impartial as the bbc.

Hilary Benn is quick to fall back on Bercow’s decisions when he interrupts JRM, with obvious delight.
Bercow is convinced that he can steer this debate with his smooth tongue. If you have a chance, watch him operating in parliament tonight.

The BBC were reporting this afternoon that body bags were being stockpiled because of Brexit. It was reported on ‘Business LIVE’. Oh the irony. I nearly choked on my digestive biscuit!
Does the BBC think that the public reaction to parliamentary voting will be so bad that remainer MPs will need body bags ? Surely not .

Boris lost the vote by an expected small margin. Not surprising when even 70% of his Party is anti-Brexit.
But it matters not. Parliament, in its deceitful way can now create No Deal legislation. But such legislation will be blocked by Boris before it gets to the Queen as he’s the PM. Perfectly legal to do so. (BBC commentators forgot this important blocking aspect for some reason. Are they biased?).
Of interest, Corbyn would not accept an early election, nor would shouty Swinson of Lib Dems when Boris offered it. They wanted No Deal confirmed first. Both realise that a GE would destroy them.
In all, a very good night.
