New Decade Thread 1 January 2020

Happy New Year / Decade to all readers and contributors . With a fair wind this decade will see the end of the Far Left Biased BBC . Let’s make it a New Year / Decade Resolution .

If there is one thing which was revealed in 2019 – it was that all the anti Brexit Far Left propaganda heaped on the British Public every day by the BBC counted for very little. That has damaged it beyond repair .

I occasionally read in the bastion of truth that is the Daily Mail web site about parties at the end of a Strictly show or sometimes at the end of filming a series. They usually hit the DM website when someone has drunk too much. Obviously the wine and other alcohol flows. Why are these parties necessary and who paths? When money comes out of the license money, then there is no need to justify spending to the founders ie us.

@JimS quoted Burke talking about the loud crickets chirping loudly thinking themselves rulers of the field
, whilst the huge cattle above them remain silent

    Interesting that
Before the election Peter Oborne quoted it on the Soros website, claiming he couldn’t vote for Boris , cos his team were the loud grasshoppers who have taken over the Conservative Party.

Then on Dec 15th John Sopel quoted it in part, warning that the US Democats that the election proved that Momentum Leftists were the grasshoppers who had taken over the Labour Party only to be crushed by the cattle voting.

Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez may be a social media genius (and she is),
and she may have a massive number of followers (and she has),
and be charismatic (and she has that by the bucketload)
    – but America is a big country with an awful lot of voters who are not signed up to all the “woke” things she and others might be advocating.

Labour in the UK lost the working class, but gained the woke.
And that will give the party sleepless nights over the coming months and years. It was their worst defeat since 1935.

“Kubica scored one point last season and was comprehensively outpaced by team-mate George Russell” State Broadcaster informs me on its Formula1 page.

One point is one point more than poor Russell was able to earn throughout all of 2019. State Broadcaster knows how to paint a picture, truthful yet selective, even ‘economical with the truth’ in order to drive a point home?

I wonder if this talent could also be deployed also in news, science and politics?

The thing which really peed me about the Supreme Court judgement was that 11 law lords heard it but all 11 signed off on the biased president with a spider who really should have known better .

Even on dissenter from the judgement might be expected or at least one other judge explaining their view . Instead it was just a bunch of muppets rubber stamping a Remainer attempt to frustrate democracy .
Not something to be forgotten even with the eventual victory .

I ve had a scout through various Remaiiner news outlets this morning and have to report that there is no sign of compromise in the air. They seem content to try and outdo each other in their rage and bitterness against Brexit. Increasingly they resemble deranged Democrats in the US who have lost their minds to Trump derangment syndrome. It is quite possible that they will start to become violent against ‘normal’ folks, private and government property and perhaps resort to public self harm to make their point. It’s astonishing to me that adults can retain such bitterness about a democratic outcome three and a half years ago. It must be seriously interfering with their lives. But rather than feeling sorry for their plight my attitude is hardening towards them, either accept the outcome and stop moaning or bugger off.

Just a thought do the folk at the BBC push the vegetarian agenda much just that I hear veganism mentioned rather a lot I thought it would be better to sell vegetarianism to the unbelievers first before going so extreme or are they aiming their propaganda at those that are already meat free?

The Guardian is reporting thar Tories are more likely to write to the BBC to formerly complain about bias . And something about labour supporters moaning on social media rather than making a formal complaint .

That was in the paper of 31 December . Today there are letters from lefties moaning about BBC bias against labour and comrade Corbyn .

I must be living in an alt world

But what I thought funny was the assumption by the paper the BBC is not biased against the right- and ignores the real anti brexit campaign the BBC has been running and is reported daily here .

As for comrade Corbyn . Considering his conduct across past decades I’m still surprised he got a comparatively easy time – until he came up against the voting public of course .

The Labour Party is in crisis because of the radical left and a similar situation exists with the US (socialist) Democratic Party and it is clear that the BBC is biased towards the latter.

I would expect the Conservatives to be neutral with regard to US politics but not the radical left element. Also, the UK is leaving the socialist and dictatorial EU.

The UK will move to become more closely aligned with the US, and horror of horrors, Harry and Megan will, whether they want to or not, come to symbolise that relationship.

This is a potential problem for how the left-biased BBC reports, not only on domestic matters but also on foreign policy issues? Sopel and co might even have to talk to (right-wing) Republican party pundits lol.

I quote from Sherelle Jacob’s Telegraph article

and the fake news: imminent human-caused extinction-level global warming is a scientific fact so beyond dispute that even a child can grasp it.
This is a lie so fundamental that the failure of the BBC and other liberal media outlets to tackle it is a disgraceful dereliction of duty.
The “consensus” on climate change – based on the statistic that 97 per cent of scientists agree – is not only groupthinkishly unscientific in spirit, but also invalid. It is traceable back to a paper by an Australian researcher, which a later paper showed was not only unsubstantiated but outright contradicted by its own data.
Still, Greta does not want us to think but to “act”. The child oracle is yanking us by the hand, not out of the eco-apocalypse’s jaws but into the jowls of vegetable-brained oblivion.

If ever anyone harbours any nagging doubts that our Black & Asian Broadcasting Company (aka. “another beauty”), was not grossly dishonest in its news reporting, those doubts would have been completely dispelled over the last 24 Hrs in two classic circumstances.
Last night at roughly 2225 I tuned in to the R4 News to pick up on what was, it seemed, a unusually lengthy debate on the POTUS, Impeachment and all things condemnatory. Needless to say, the two American interviewees condemned the POTUS entirely. In fact, one said that the majority of the public see him, “…as a crook”. The other interviewee likened the 50/50 split in the American public’s views as similar to the perceived 50/50 split in the British public’s suggested views on Brexit culminating in Boris’ landslide success. But, here’s the thing, that commentator predicted a similar landslide come next election, for the Democrats! What planet?
I follow the political scene in the US by a number of sources, Fox being only one and I have to say that I did not recognise anything within that extended debate that was anything near accurate or honest.
This morning on Toady, we were all subjected to the BABC skills in, ‘tap-dancing on the head of a pin’, in utterly failing to mention the ‘Elephant in the Room’. Surprise, surprise, the psychologist/designer of the so-called, “De-radicalisation” programmes for terrorists states that, ” ……it can never be certain that attackers have been “cured””. It appears that the programme is up against years (if not decades) of previous terrorist conditioning, “in some cases going back to when the subject was a teenager”. I would suggest that it goes back even earlier – from the day they were born and started being conditioned in the ways of islam. You know, that Religion of Peace……..
Bravo! BABC. You conveniently forget that the public is not stupid.

Jakarta floods: ‘Not ordinary rain’, say officials

…or…. comments from normal people, where the bbc has less control?

“ There’s nothing extraordinary about Jakartas rain fall… It comes every year, and has done as far back as records were started.. The more concrete that is added to jkt and surrounding areas the more. Flash floods will occur.. Huge amounts of toll roads built, and mrt, lrt built gives extra water with nowhere to go to.. Planning in Jakarta sucks to say the least.. With a flood problem already Jakarta should have concentrated on new storm drains and a new network of ground pumps.. To be ready for precisely what came… Instead, roads and transport, we’re built all over Jakarta . Rain can fall anywhere anytime, what’s most unusual is that the governor of Jakarta cut the storm sewer renovation by 500 million idr. When in fact. Should have added billions, the result is evident in the areas that have blocked drains and sewers.. Bad planning, bad management, and not being prepared for floods during rain season is unacceptable.”

Incompetent civil servants and agenda-obsessed, unqualified media are the true disasters the world’s growing populations face.

Having spent a lot of time on business over the years I can fully vouch for the above. December and January usually have some heavy downpours. Some of the city is below sea level and there are large slum areas on the most flood susceptible terrain. Getting in and out of the city towards the airport, even with minor rainfall, is a nightmare. It would be nice if our media did some basic research on the physical geography and social structure before going to a body with vested interests for information. The biggest issues in Jakarta have been for many years more to do with the planning and management as stated by GW. It also shows what happens if you site a city on a flood plain/delta without defences.

Yes, pure parody : ” travelling while black. ” The piece goes on to illustrate the horrors of travelling while black with an anecdote from a tourist to India who was doing just that, travelling while black. She narrates how Indians at the Taj Mahal in Agra were jostling for a selfie with her, because they ” had never seen a black person”. In India? What colour does she suppose Indians are. Some are positively ebony. Or is “black” reserved for those of African origin. A completely bizarre piece from the BBC, beyond parody.

Not reported because it doesn’t fit the agenda:

    https://www.aljazeera.com/indepth/inpictures/pictures-india-homeless-bear-brunt-record-cold-200101071656861.html

India’s homeless bear brunt of record cold
Capital New Delhi broke record for coldest December day in 119 years on Monday, compounding miseries of the homeless.

Also not reported is the cold affecting Pakistan:

KARACHI: The metropolis’ cold weather was expected to intensify in January 2020, Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) Director Sardar Sarfaraz said Monday.

Karachi had recorded its lowest temperature — at 9.2°C — in the current winter season, he said. Prior to the current record, the city recorded its lowest at 9.5°C.

Western winds were expected to enter Balochistan from Iran from January 3, likely bringing rain to both Balochistan and Sindh, he added.

    Record-breaking winter
The current winter season is on a spree of breaking all previous records, as mercury in Peshawar dropped to a freezing -1°C after 36 years. Karachi, on the other hand, recorded its lowest (9.2°C), while Skardu reached a freezing -21°C.

    Educational institutions shut down
Sindh’s education department was expected to increase the winter holidays after this week’s record-breaking temperatures, sources said. Separately, schools and colleges in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa extended the holidays and would remain closed till Januray 7; however, the Sindh government was still considering such a move.

The East of the USA is also experiencing record breaking low temperatures, but low temperatures simply don’t fit a global warming lying agenda, so Australia is the news with the bush fires which have been exacerbated by lunatic greens preventing management of the brush and by over 100 criminal loons setting fires. (but that doesn’t fit the agenda either so it hasn’t been reported!)

As the BBC didn’t have anything worth watching I had a look at a programme about preserved railways on one of the Freeview commercial channels.

The first advertising break had seven adverts, of which six were led by black actors. The next break had five adverts, all of which were led by black actors.

Given that we have been constantly told we won’t do well if we don’t see people like us on TV and most of us aren’t black and the next largest racial group aren’t black either what exactly are the advertisers hoping to achieve?

I’m sure we are all looking forward to the new David Copperfield film too.

We have Dame Sharon White to thank for this, and for the far-from-statistically-correct profusion of mixed couples in advertisements. I had better not say where, but I work at one of her previous employers and she was forever harping on about such issues.

Anders – It is that profusion which marks these ads out as social engineering propaganda. Had I been living in -say the old Soviet Union, I should have accepted the situation with a shrug. One knows what goes in a totalitarian society.
It is the pretence that we are living in a ‘liberal democracy’, but being subjected to a barrage of this propaganda, which irks. Theoretically, the two don’t go together.
I don’t like being manipulated, so I have a rather long list of products to be boycotted.

“….what exactly are the advertisers hoping to achieve?”
They are all in the conspiracy to normalise something that cannot and will not be normalised. Unless, of course, it is meant as a foretaste of the future UK under Boris & his muslim Chancellor’s acquiescence to transfer the population of Africa to the UK under the UN Migration Compact which Treason May signed up to.

As it happens, in the programme, there was a lady of Malay extraction taking on the role of Station Master for the first time. She clearly loved the railway, she played the part, she wore the clothes and appreciated that she had to keep the customer happy or the railway couldn’t operate, (were you listening advertisers?).

Surely no-one would complain if the odd non-native figured in these programmes, at least giving some recognition of reality? (It is probably true that most of the preserved railways were saved by non-locals as they were the ones that appreciated what might be lost. That could be true of national culture too!)

However this current fad, (let us hope it is just a fad), smacks more of triumphalism, ‘we are the masters now’, and is hardly a force for good.

    /
Hello and welcome to all the new supporters (344,218 as of today)

I know this is the holidays, but I have to share some grim piece of information I recently stumbled upon when I was looking at the last quarterly report from the Criminal Justice System statistics. The BBC, via TV licensing and Capita, had been hounding kids for not having TV licences!

    – Four children aged ten to 11 were prosecuted in the last 10 years (Of which one girl from Kent and one boy from Surrey were even convicted!!)

    – Twenty aged 12 to 14 years old were prosecuted (2 boy – one from West Midlands and the other from London – and 3 girls – from Durham, Kent and Merseyside respectively – aged 12 to 14 were also convicted)

    – Four Hundred and forty teenagers in the 15-to-17 bracket were lined up for prosecution (254 of them were found guilty).

That’s a grand total of 464 kids prosecuted for TV licence offences between 2009 and 2016.

This was shared with Daily Mail reporters and duly published last Saturday. It made it into a nice double spread along with interesting stories of TV licensing’s bullying tactics. Here is the link: https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-7815475/amp/How-BBCs-relentless-pursuit-licence-fee-billions-led-one-10-magistrate-hearings.html?__twitter_impression=true

Now, you may wonder how this is even possible. Well, as absurd as it is, all you need to do to be prosecuted is to use a TV illegally or to have one in your possession / control that is knowingly used illegally by other people. There is no legal minimum age requirement in the law. Have a look yourself:

    Communication Act 2003, art. 363
    (1) A television receiver must not be installed or used unless the installation and use of the receiver is authorised by a licence under this Part.

    (2) A person who installs or uses a television receiver in contravention of subsection (1) is guilty of an offence.

    (3) A person with a television receiver in his possession or under his control who—

    (a) intends to install or use it in contravention of subsection (1), or

    (b) knows, or has reasonable grounds for believing, that another person intends to install or use it in contravention of that subsection,

    is guilty of an offence.

    (4) A person guilty of an offence under this section shall be liable, on summary conviction, to a fine not exceeding level 3 on the standard scale.

    ———–

So if unscrupulous commission hungry ‘officers’ knock on the door and a child answers, they might be tempted to ask the child to sign a ‘confession’ (i.e. a tittleless document that opens them to prosecution). I mean, noboby will know that the person who signed was under 18 until it goes to trial. And by that point, the commission will have been cashed and the ‘officer’ might have moved on to another less lousy job.

When pressed for comments on this, the BBC chose to deny the facts completely! The Daily Mail wrote: “A spokesman for the BBC insisted that children as young as ten are not prosecuted for not paying the licence fee, and added: ‘Our policy is to prosecute people aged 18 or over. ‘We have reviewed this issue before and found around ten cases where someone aged 17 — but no younger — had been prosecuted, and tightened our systems further.”

The word is that the BBC is bricking it. Oh well, that’s what happen when you delegate power and don’t keep a close eye on it.

Anyhow, I hope you all have a nice holiday. See you in 2020

For those who see the BBC with done achronistic view – as “aunty “ the cold approach to tax gathering should be a sign that all is not well with the monster ( to say the least ).

Much of the time BBC presenters talk down to the pleb viewers and listeners from a moral ground so high in the sky ( as it were ) – see Lineker ., Marr, maitliss, adey , Yet below it is the sordid methods it’s agents use to get cash to pay their wages

Bit like the way it goes after some stories ( eg British girl in Cyprus ) but not organised Pakistani Muslim paedophile rape rings operating in various towns and cities around Britain – orders of magnitude more important than one incident .

As for the form in the hyperlink used by TV tax Stasi – the detail required would suggest that completion at the ‘front door’ wouldn’t be practical so I suppose there’s the “do you mind if I come in a minute as there’s a form I’ve got to complete “ technique .

It’s the afternoon of the 2nd of January and the most recent letter I got from TV licencing said I’d get a visit today . I’m waiting …..

Alas the cowerdly useless incompetent Tories are trying to make it even easier to bring prosecutions for non payment of the TV Tax.

de criminalising the offence of non payment will reduce the burden of proof from beyond reasonable doubt to the balance of probablity, meaning that non payers will not get a criminal record – which is for most realistic purposes meaningless, and will instead have a ruined credit rating and a CCJ making it impossible to get a loan a mortgage or even rented accommodation.

What Boris the Bottler is proposing is worse than the current situation, and it shouldn’t surprise anyone. The only real solution is the end of the TV Tax.

Don’t hold your breath for the caviar eating surrendur monkeys to actually do anything though.

When my Son went to university a couple of years back he was staying in a lovely, new purpose built flat on the university campus with 4 other students. They shared a kitchen and lounge, but due to the fact that all 5 of them signed their contracts as individuals and had their own bedrooms and en suites, all 5 had to pay their own licence fee! Even if they had agreed to put the biggest television set in the lounge and watch tv together , “legally” they still “needed” a licence each,
If Boris doesn’t bottle and he decriminalises the licence fee then I can’t wait not to pay……if that makes sense.

The second one was more direct and asked if he could check my TV when I told him it had no antenna.
Both left when I answered in the negative . I have had a bundle of threatening letters from them.

It’s tempting and I once sat out numerous letters threatening to fine me for parking in a McDonald’s car park for more that the prescribed 90 minutes (whilst doing business and buying drinks on the premises I hasten to add) On that occasion I heeded the advice on forums and my own research threw up that the parking company were little more than glorified chancers. But even though I know the score from your good selves there’s something just that bit more daunting about deciding not to pay the BBC Tax.

Let us spare a prayer for our poor, socialist, ‘bridges-not-walls’ Pope.

An over-enthusiastic worshipper grabbed his hand while he was on walkabout in Rome, obliging him to ‘lash out’ at her.

Fortunately our ‘bridges-not-walls’ Pope had a sturdy barrier between him and the riff-raff. And fortunately one of his burly bodyguards stepped in to rescue our love-the-poor Papa from the terrifying threat posed by the diminutive oriental woman.

Far be it from me to compare safety barriers in St Peter’s Square with border walls, or bodyguards with border guards. But one wonders how the poor woman felt being slapped by God’s Representative on Earth.
Perhaps our islam-loving Pope took a leaf out of the Quran where it’s ok to beat uppity women.

I don’t claim to be fair. My point is that the same virtue-signalling ‘no walls’ crowd who would deny border controls to Western nations are quite happy to have the protection of barriers when it suits.
The Pope is just an example of that mindset; another is Glastonbury. And try getting in to Broadcasting House.
