    BBC Remainer alert!

You know how the BBC like to play the politics of envy card and focus on every example of ‘unfairness and disadvantage’ they can find (especially BAME,LGBTQxyz etc).

Well, knock me down with a feather, on the BBC 1 pm news we were invited to feel sorry for people with second homes!!!!!

The second homes in question however are of course in Southern Spain, and ‘because of Brexit’ expat Brits who have lived there for years now just do not know what to do.

Oh dear. How sad. Never mind.

Bonus time! The Express has TWO headlines to warm your heart:

‘I’m trying to give a serious answer!’ Whitty snaps at BBC host over teacher vaccinations
PROFESSOR Chris Whitty shut down an interruption from Nick Robinson after the BBC presenter repeatedly demanded to know what the Government’s plans were in regards to vaccinating teachers around the country.
    https://www.express.co.uk/news/uk/1382344/chris-whitty-news-uk-coronavirus-vaccine-teachers-schools-latest-bbc-radio-4-vn

BBC shamed as Ian Botham makes brilliant EU comparison – ‘Same mistake… UK got fed up!’
THE BBC has been compared to the European Union by Sir Ian Botham in a major warning to the broadcaster.
    https://www.express.co.uk/news/uk/1382370/bbc-news-ian-botham-brexit-european-union-eu-bbc-tv-licence

    1st para:
Lord Botham accused the BBC of thinking it was “too big to reform” as he pointed to the EU as “another unaccountable institution that Britain got fed up with”. The pro-Brexit former England cricketer warned Brussels “made the mistake of thinking that we would always grin and bear it”.

    And here’s the 2nd para:
Lord Botham added: “How wrong they were.”

    How right Lord Botham is!

Right angle – just listened to the interchange between witty and our Justin /Jeremy ? – having listened for years ( no longer ) – I think our Justin / Jeremy was having a bored day . Ask a rambling question but not really too interested in an answer- if the victim speaks for more than 20 seconds – interrupt without listening and then say
-‘ and now the weather ‘or ‘and now the sport ‘……

Witty is not the kind of victim the BBC wants . Giving a structured logical progressive detailed answer to a slob question from a beeboid – not good … interrupt – I must press you on this with a ‘yes ‘ or ‘ no ‘ answer …. yawn ….

Hi All long time reader & poster here just been busy as hell for a while.

I was talking to the family about the state of the media in the UK in general, its all bad.

Does any one know of or can recommend a legitamate news site or tv channel.

Channel or Site need to be able to do the following:

    1 Impartial
2 Throw Presenters & Media’s own opinions out of the window.
3 Just wants to portray the facts to people.
    4 Doesn’t sensationalise every story.
5 Draws a line in the sand & STAYS BEHIND THE LINE

im sure you all will be able to relate to some of these analogies.

I had started to get my news from social media sources, channels but im starting to realise NEWS/MEDIA is broken and the social media sources are unreliable as well, plus full of 90% bullshit

Just cos there is a loud nutter in the pub, that doesn’t mean you have to sit near him and listen.

The fact that MSM & particularly BBC give us such a distorted view of reality, is not remedied by finding a magically better TV news source.
I recommend people remove the stress by not watching it at all.
      TVnews is just *a show*
.. they choose what to present and get their material from special interest group mates
      whilst deliberately suppressing some stuff
and accidentally missing others cos they are not aware.
The more TVnews you watch the more misinformed and stressed you are
Being exposed to alternative narratives does remedy the brainwashing a bit

      SkyNewsAustralia on YouTube
      TalkRadio on YouTube
      TalkRadio Highligh clips Channel

Most houses I know watch the 6pm ITV local news
and then switch over to the 6:30pm BBC news
      skipping national news altogether.

Ian Botham – speaks his mind (writing in the Telegraph today)….

Since I joined the House of Lords, a lot of people have been writing to me about the BBC. They say that it is turning against them – that it doesn’t see them, let alone listen to them. But is my inbox representative?

According to a new YouGov poll, the answer is clearly yes. It found that only 4 per cent of the public thought that the BBC had improved at representing their values during 2020. A staggering 33 per cent said it had become worse. This is an organisation in big trouble. Any business facing numbers like those would take drastic action.

The BBC was doing particularly badly in the countryside, from where many people write to me. They dislike how the corporation increasingly uses its programmes to promote the narrow “woke” views of its senior staff. They say it abuses its power to push these “urban progressive” ideas as if they were mainstream.

    They are anything but.

    (more) Telegraph says:
The BBC is meant to be in the midst of a culture change under its new director-general, Tim Davie. If Ian Botham’s inbox is anything to go by, the plan might not be working. Lord Botham writes in his column of the many correspondents angry at the Corporation for continuing to push an agenda at odds with their country values.

    https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2021/01/11/country-people-sick-woke-bbc/?WT.mc_id=e_DM1323827&WT.tsrc=email&etype=Edi_Edi_New_Sub&utmsource=email&utm_medium=Edi_Edi_New_Sub20210111&utm_campaign=DM1323827

And also the TPA are well under way with ‘AXE-THE-TAX’ campaign to challenge the BBC monopoly and its cringing compliance with everything ‘woke’ and lefty…

    Also today:
Golden goodbyes at the BBC (again and again…)

Once again the BBC has faced fierce criticism after it was discovered £26.6 million was spent making 310 staff redundant. Of those, 210 employees received a golden goodbye in excess of £100,000.

The TaxPayers’ Alliance wasted no time in calling out this disgraceful use of licence fee payers’ cash. Our chief executive John O’Connell told the Daily Mail, The Sun, Express and The Times, “The BBC claims it can’t pay for TV licences for over-75s, yet is able to find tens of millions of pounds for golden goodbyes.”

Continuing the fight-back our digital campaign manager Joe Ventre was a guest on talkRadio to discuss the bumper payoffs. He told presenter Kevin O’Sullivan, “it feels like the BBC is indulging itself with licence fee payers’ money” adding, “£26 million could have paid for over 150,000 TV licences for the over 75s.” Click here to watch a clip.

Brits are fed up of being forced to the TV tax only to see it squandered on well-heeled execs and golden goodbyes. We will continue to put pressure on the government to put an end to the Beeb’s archaic funding model.

The Climate is warming up for the BBC funding and perverse biases of Woke culture. Time to remove funding entirely.

Advertisers on both (and shareholders) will be sweating right now.

I jumped ship on both yesterday so I claim a part in this.

Meanwhile gab.com is reporting 10,000 new users every hour, that’s a quarter of a million a day! it’s sure making the servers overloaded but they are apparently rapidly building capacity.

I joined Gab today, it was slow but I got there in the end, give them a couple of weeks and they will be invincible.

For all those put off by the current slow performance of Gab, stick with it, it’s the biggest rise in any company’s user base in history so well worth the bumpy ride right now to send a message to the pricks.

    And tell your friends too!

I signed up with Gab a long time ago, as I suspected this day may come, but never used the account.

The site is pretty much unusable at present, but will hopefully improve. I can’t help but wonder if it’s just new accounts or if it’s under attack. I haven’t yet come off Twitter, as I don’t want to burn my bridges before building new ones. But the atmosphere on Twitter is markedly different today and will never again be the same.

We have witnessed the end of an era.

At some point the ISPs will block Gab. I can see the day in the fairly near future when a paid-for VPN is essential. Can anyone recommend which one?

Hateful / abusive speech on Twitter is still allowed for some and is, apparently, praised when it is attacking Brexit:

Viking Beard Company tweeted apologising to their EU customers that Brexit meant they’d no longer be able to ship orders due to customs costs
User replied saying if they can’t ‘fill out paperwork’ they don’t ‘deserve custom’

The Left seem to have no ethics or sense of personal honour whatsoever. I’ve been watching for it with curiosity ever since I first noticed in the run up to Brexit. It’s all of them!.

With the obvious deterioration over the recent past decades, I keep thinking that if Clinton had achieved her wish in 2016, the US would have been over by now. I think she was to have been the last to completely destroy the US.

          JohnC,

I have been noticing these things too about the Left.

I have been wondering about why people adopt the politics they do. From what I’ve read, there appear to be psychological (and even biological) factors that may account for the differences between liberals and conservatives.

Liberals are apparently more open to new experiences, more tolerant, more impulsive, more uncontrolled. Conservatives feel disgust more keenly, are more conscientious, more moralistic, more fearful and aware of threats.

When you compare the political, economic and social policies advocated by both groups there seems to be a surprising link to these psychological factors.

It is perhaps no accident that that regular letter-writer to the Times, “Disgusted of Tunbridge Wells”, was supposed to be a conservative. And that those who are open to open borders and uncontrolled immigration are overwhelmingly liberals.

Well, it looks like it is official policy now. The BBC are not going to refer to Muslims or Islam at all when they report terror attacks.
The only hint you will get at the attackers motive will be the phrase ‘religious jihad’ – which will mentioned just once.
The report will not contain any explanation of the motivating causes whatsoever. It will just describe what happened. Contrast that with any of the far-right attacks where a detailed motivation of the offendor is researched and fully described.

There is room to comment, so it does give an opportunity to vent your anger if so desired.
I very much suspect with most ‘surveys’, the whole point of it is to say “We are addressing some issues..look we’ve done a survey”. As regards taking action on the replies, well we all know that is modern Beeb comedy at it’s best.

BBC WEB-SITE Watch #1 – the ‘work experience’ trainees are at it again

    https://www.bbc.co.uk/news

“Brokenshire to leave ministerial job for surgery” – Isn’t that public spirited at a time of our NHS being overwhelmed? A Government Minister leaves Parliament to help out in the hard-pressed NHS. Apparently, not. ‘Brokenshire to leave Ministerial job to have surgery’ would be more correct. Good wishes to him for recovery.

“Morrisons to ban shoppers who refuse to wear masks.” is OK but the next bit can leave readers scratching their heads “People who refuse to wear face coverings that are not medically exempt will not be allowed to shop inside” How can I get my face mask exempted? Will the BBC provide a helpful guide on the web-site? Will I be allowed to shop outside? Will my requirements be brought out to me if I hold up a large list to the window? Perhaps the BBC can produce another handy guide.

They seem to like telling us ‘how to do it’.

Beijing Biden’s probable win means he will go easy on Big Tech (where Trump was starting to rein them in), which means they will feel even more emboldened to push their liberal-left agendas and crush alternative platforms of free expression.

It also means we’ll never find out about the details of the Biden family’s criminal activities; or details of the greatest election fraud in history; or of the shenanigans of the deep state, the swamp, the Dems, the security services and so much more over the past 4 years.

And don’t expect the MSM to look into any of that, much less the biased, lying BBC.

Anyone notice how few BBC voxpops involve indigenous white British people?

This is in part due to BBC political correctness but also reflects the barely reported by them mass demographic change of ethnicity among under 50 year olds.

Which I cannot ever remember being explicitly asked to vote about.

Goodness me again. If you want to see just how spiteful and vindictive the Left are towards Trump, have a look at this:
    https://edition.cnn.com/2021/01/11/opinions/hold-trump-accountable-lockhart/index.html
This guy doesn’t just want Trump removed. He wants him completely ruined. The whole article is 100% hate. I suspect he would willingly beat Trump to death with a cricket bat and they would have to drag him away from the corpse to stop him. This guy represents everything wrong in the world today.
And CNN are happy to host it.
I only saw it because Google thrust it under my nose on the Android tablet – even though I’ve removed CNN from my news feed. No surprise there either.
I have to admit I’m absolutely sick to the back teeth of these hypocrites now.

Just caught Betty Boothroyd interview on Sky where I’m sure I heard that she has proof (in writing) from the makers that the vaccine (the Pfizer one) is only effective for 90 days without the (3 week) booster.

This means that everyone vaccinated is back to square one if they have to wait 3 months instead of doing it properly as per the makers instructions.

Why don’t they do the 10 million or so high risk/oldies correctly instead of the way the politicians want.

Once done with the 3 week gap they can be forgotten about instead of the bodge of this 3 month gap where the vaccine becomes ineffective.

Don’t they realise that they may get a few weeks extra vaccines in arms this month but in March (April and May) the second vaccinations will all be needed for the vulnerable.

Just imagine if they can do 6 million a month, that’s 18 million in 3 months, then these 18 million will all need second jabs meaning 18 million completed in 6 months with the 3 month gap.
If they do it properly with the 3 week gap it still means 18 million jabs in 6 months but those vaccinated will have long term protection.
These numbers are just for examples to try and show 3 weeks or 3 months make no difference to the numbers vaccinated so doing it properly should be the way to go.

If the vaccines are ineffective after 90 days it could mean having 2 more jabs if they have to wait 3 months, one after 3 months and the third 3 weeks later, as per the makers instructions.

Anyone know if others Countries are bodging it or doing it properly.

And probably over the heads of most in government as well.
Note how at this evening’s press conference Hancock was full of detail about the next few weeks and then very vague indeed about what will happen after mid February.

They need to be able to do 4 million a week by then, of whom half need to be second jabs. But the number 4 has yet to pass Johnson or Hancock’s lips.

That is not meant in a good way. Almost every paragraph is constructed with zero journalistic integrity. I moved to Parler because Twitter is a twisted ideologically politicised affront to free speech, hence the attraction to RTing, banning and blocking Beeboids. The attempted conflations and inferences are laughable.

No wonder the BBC is in full support of shutting down an alternative that exists on choice vs. rigged corporate and establishment heft and compulsion.

It also has Rorified ‘analysis’, which is worse.

I was thinking back about the newsreaders on the BBC I saw in my childhood in the 1950’s and 60’s, you know Richard Baker, Kenneth Kendall and Robert Dougall. Anyway I went to googleinvestigate and up came a piece from the Express from 2018 talking about the death of Richard Baker. It appears he gave the first BBC TV news bulletin on July 5th 1954. The interesting part is that these newsreaders were not seen. The reason given was that changing their facial expression was seen by the BBC as threatening their impartiality, and in those days the BBC took impartiality seriously. Haha.

BBC WEB-SITE Watch #2 – there’s something not quite right about this, BBC

    https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/55560714
The BBC here are debunking claims on the internet supported by video that UK hospitals are not as busy as SAGE, Whitty, the Government and others claim. The BBC Reality Check team of Christopher Giles, Jack Goodman and Olga Robinson – three BBC Reality checkers(!) yes, three! – are claiming all these accounts of empty hospital corridors are FakeNews and FalseFacts.

The BBC Reality Check team are not specific about how many of these videos exist, nor where they were filmed. The best they can do is “There have been videos taken of dozens of locations and some have been viewed hundreds of thousands of times.” This very non-specific dismantling of an internet claim starts to sound alarms bells for me. How about you?

The best way to refute these video claims as FakeNews and FalseFacts would, of course, require the BBC Reality Check team to go and do some real journalism and produce some video clips of hospital staff frantically at work helping Covid patients, with trolleys being pushed by porters into wards crammed with patients, would it not? And nurses rushing to and fro, with an A&E full of people waiting to be attended to.

There have been several photos on the BBC web-site with rows of ambulances outside hospitals but that doesn’t indicate a hospital that is over-run or overwhelmed. It may merely indicate crews on a break or at the end of a shift or waithing to take discharged but immobile patients home. In just two of the many photos I have seen on the BBC w-s, there was one patient in each being wheeled into the hospital by an ambulance crew member.

There is a 3minute 33second video put up by the BBC at the end of this web-site article which really doesn’t show NHS staff being overwhelmed by Covid patients, rather the reverse.

As a debunking or reality checking article this raises more questions of the BBC than it answers. It also raises doubts about the quality of BBC Fact-checking and Reality-checking. Maybe Marianna could check the BBC Reality Checkers? The Reality Check team could check Marianna over to return the favour.

The empty corridors tend to be outpatient areas. They are rarely suitable for conversion to inpatient areas – rooms are not big enough for trollies, there is no piped oxygen, there are not enough power points for equipment.

Italy flashes before all of us where it has been widely reported (by colleagues working there as well) that patients died of hypoxia without any oxygen available. At the moment, I have had the capacity to eventually treat everyone in front of me. I am not ignoring the cancers, and there are also many many other immediately life threatening emergencies which we are still treating.
I agree we are not overwhelmed, but we are perilously close and genuinely asking people to stay at home to save the NHS so we can treat you and your family if we need to. Our usual 19 bedded ITU currently has 35 patients (not all Covid), multiple wards have been switched to medical (usually surgical, as you can imagine we are are limited to a very small number of cancer surgeries which we review daily).
I am not defending the BBC and agree with many of the things on here, but this not a BBC lie.
