Shhhhh … Whilst UK pays out to the oppressed ….

Many societies throughout history have practised slavery, and Muslim societies were no exception.

It’s thought that as many people were enslaved in the Eastern slave trade as in the Atlantic slave trade.

It’s ironic that when the Atlantic slave trade was abolished the Eastern trade expanded, suggesting that for some Africans the abolition of the Atlantic trade didn’t lead to freedom, but merely changed their slave destination.

Last night Alex Deacon, once a regular forecaster on the BBC, now on GB News, told us that we were due 10 days of dry weather. Paul Hudson on Look North certainly predicted several days (and regularly asks after Mrs Deacon”s petunias, but that is another story). However I got up this morning to see large blobs of water falling from the sky. This isn’t funny for farmers trying to make decisions bringing in their harvest (their whole year’s income concentrated into a couple of weeks).

Perhaps if the Met Office spent less time telling us the weather at Wimbledon in 2050, they could concentrate their efforts on the next 24 hours.

One in four NHS nurses are obese, study reveals
Obesity rates among nurses and care workers higher than people in non-health and care related jobs

    Tuesday 05 December 2017
    https://www.independent.co.uk/news/health/nhs-nurses-obese-stats-figures-survey-results-a8091781.html

One in four NHS nurses is obese and this could be contributing to high staff sickness levels and heaping more pressure on the health service, researchers have warned.

Obesity related illness could take an increasing toll on the NHS, the team from Edinburgh University warn, as almost half of nurses are over the age of 45.

Experts said the figures were “deeply worrying” and long, stressful shifts often made it hard for staff to make healthy choices.

The Church of England has expressed “deep regret and sorrow” over a mishandled inquiry into a priest who killed himself after false child abuse allegations.

Father Alan Griffin, 78, who died last November, spent a year under scrutiny without ever hearing the claims.

A coroner previously said the claims were “supported by no complainant, no witness and no accuser”.

“We take responsibility for what went wrong,” the Church said.

We will get Brexit done in January and unleash the potential of our whole country.

    I guarantee:

Extra funding for the NHS, with 50,000 more nurses and 50 million more GP surgery appointments a year.

20,000 more police and tougher sentencing for criminals.

An Australian-style points-based system to control immigration.

Millions more invested every week in science, schools, apprenticeships and infrastructure while controlling debt.

Reaching Net Zero by 2050 with investment in clean energy solutions and green infrastructure to reduce carbon emissions and pollution.

We will not raise the rate of income tax, VAT or National Insurance.

20,000 more police with the powers and backing they need to keep our streets safe
The increase in serious violence is deeply worrying and sadly some people no longer feel as safe as they should.

It is the Prime Minister’s priority to make our streets safer – and we’ve already begun work to do just that – so that the law abiding majority can live their lives free of the fear of crime.

And by getting Brexit done we’ll once again be able to focus on priorities like this.

Cos the number of some disease deaths due to Alzheimer’s and Dementia etc. is vastly down
That suggests that some A-D were finished off by Covid
but really it was still their A-D that was the main factor.

Then there are excess deaths, but many of them are not due to Covid
Now It’s people dying at home from non-Covid , whilst hospital deaths are way down

The ONS state 156K Covid deaths

Aug 9th @MrSteerpike sting puts to bed that the notion that the BBC has any objectivity when it comes to reporting climate change.
Instead it sees itself quite explicitly as a campaigning organisation

    Summary https://tallbloke.wordpress.com/2021/08/10/revealed-the-bbcs-guide-for-pushing-climate-propaganda/

The way the BBC talks about those who don’t share their views is quite revealing…
The presumption is that every group is “wrong”, and if they object to (crackpot) policies, they must be corrected.

That leaves no oxygen for any political discussion whatsoever

Caught a snippet of Newsnight last night where they were digging into The Cuban Government handling of protestors.

The typical BBC interview lady had a spokesman for the Cuban Government on line and she sarcastically asked him whether it was right for the Cuban Government to detain people without charge.

I loved his response along the lines of…

“So tell me BBC, the name of one person we have detained in that way!”

Response…awkward silence and cut him off and moved swiftly on..

Now I have no love of the Cuban Communist leadership but it was a perfect response to the arrogance of the BBC and demonstrates how best to deal with the weasels.

There are three questions that would destroy most of the arguments on the left:

      1. Compared to what?
      2. At what cost?

There are very few ideas on the left that can pass all three of those kinds of things.

It is strange that so many people interviewed by the BBC play by its rules.

If you put aside politicians – those who are paid green room regulars – very few ‘one off ‘ cases of challenging the premise can be called to mind .

In fact it is so few that each case is notable

I guess most challenges are recorded and never get broadcast ?

But the ‘live ‘ ones must be so vetted for approved thought that there are few cases there either .

The effect is to turn BBC reporters into ‘gods’ – eg Huw Edwards lamenting his pay cut from

Interesting to read the BBC’s easy-going Hello! style coverage of trot Sharon Graham’ election at the new head at Unite with that of Guido. No mention at all of her far-left politics.
    https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-58331178
    And here’s Guido:
It sounds like the race to be next Unite boss could be heading for a big upset as The Mirror and Huffington Post report the far-left Sharon Graham, an overlooked outsider, looks set to steal a win. According to The Mirror, a sample of 8,000 votes spread across 22 tables showed her to have the largest pile on each. They point to a “formidable” grassroots campaign…

Back when Guido did his last runners & riders article, Sharon was seen as “unlikely to take the top prize this time”; which would more likely go to either the Unite establishment candidate Steve Turner, controversial left-wing McCluskey ally Howard Beckett, who dropped out to back Turner, or the Starmerite “right” candidate Gerard Coyne. The final result isn’t out until Thursday.

Sharon’s platform has included saying the union’s “obsession with the Labour party needs to end”:

“We need to move beyond the internal struggles of the Labour Party. Labour will likely be in opposition for most of the next decade and workers can’t afford to wait.

As General Secretary I make no bones about saying that I will not be giving out blank cheques to any politician or political party.”

Her offering won over the hard left Socialist Worker, who have argued her campaign “reflects a thirst for change in Unite.” She also won backing from the SWP and Socialist Party, something she praised…

The reaction inside Labour to the speculative news is interestingly split; on the one hand she’s on record saying “Keir Starmer has failed workers” and is threatening to cut off funding. On the other if she’s promising to move away from internal Labour politics she may prove quieter on some rows, which may save face for Starmer. A Labour insider tells Seb Payne “The moderates haven’t won, nor have the communists”…

Indeed. I’ve often lamented the career arc of one Lenworth George Henry as being the benchmark for barely-concealed, feet-under-the-table cronyism; he ably represents a broadcaster which itself reeks of racism and loathing for the country it supposedly represents. His entire solo output was built around mocking every black stereotype you can think of, for a largely white audience – that he latched onto Comic Relief and married a white woman were sadly predictable means to the end he sought: a rubber-stamped Establishment pedestal from which he could hector white people about the alleged systemic racism which in no way obstructed his impressive trajectory toward success. There is no authenticity about Lenny Henry, no honesty or integrity. He is the epitome of an Uncle Tom and it’s interesting that his protege Gina Yashere – daughter of Nigerian immigrants – followed suit with a sneeringly-assembled cast of characters including angry black women and girls who frequent nail bars, before ranting about the racism of our Royal family from the safety of her home in Los Angeles.

It’s the ingratitude which really sticks in my craw. It was white ticket sales as well as black which got these turncoats their place in society and the white licence fee as well as the black which kept them on the television. Yashere bleats on about how, as a manual labourer in her youth, colleagues put bananas in her pockets and hung monkey pictures around her, for none of which there is a shred of evidence. So spiteful and unpleasant is she, it’s not beyond reason that these are all lies. Neither of these individuals see fit to discontinue their attacks on the country which made their names therefore we should make every effort to ignore their very existence.

These are the worst of black people, and it is imperative we only invest our time, energy and love in the best.

Not the biased bathtubs, but, I was watching Countdown this arvo, just for a bit of brain training. It’s gone downhill since Nick (Alan Sugar’s bum boy) left. Anyway, one of the teasers before the break was MERRYPUT, and some comment from the leftie presenter about Donald may have been like this. The answer (for those who haven’t got it yet) was trumpery. This of course was followed by snide remarks from the three witches of Channel 4. The bBBC must be wishing they had such a programme on their books.

I’ve heard it all now. Not about the BBC, but no doubt the type of person who works for that benighted organisation.

Was at a social gathering this afternoon and talking to a left-wing woman I’m acquainted with. After being introduced to a Hungarian woman my left-wing ‘friend’ turned to me and said she thought all these eastern Europeans should be turfed out of Europe as they don’t hold ‘European values’.

Apparently they don’t deserve to be allowed to continue living in their own countries because of the way they’ve closed their borders to ‘refugees’.

What on earth can we do about these politically correct people?!? They won’t see it, but they are the true enemies of European culture and civilisation.

The only reason I don’t buy into the ‘Great Replacement’ conspiracy theory is I can’t actually believe the people supposedly responsible for replacing us with Muslim immigrants are at the same time both clever enough to carry out such an ambitious scheme, and so stupid as to believe they’d be better off.

Occasionally, I have to admit, things happen which make me question my assumptions there.

      • JohnC says:

I don’t buy into it either.
I think the Left promote this immigration for 2 reasons:

        1) Lefties love to virtue-signal their self-proclaimed intellectual superiority using anyone perceived as ‘victims’ as objects for virtue-signalling to show us all how much better they are than us.

The thing which shows this as fake is the incredible hypocrisy they do it with. They only champion things which suit their agenda. So – for example – they ignore the sexism, racism and homophobia of Muslim’s because they are more useful as victims.

        2) If they build up masses of these grateful victims, they will vote for them. Now we have reached such huge numbers of them, they can make the difference between winning and losing.

Always remember the Left are shallow, self-centred creatures and are prone to the characteristics which go with such a personaIity : particularly greed, spite, lack of humour and self-adulation.

        It’s all down to Left-Brain and Right-Brain.

” If they build up masses of these grateful victims, they will vote for them.”

The standard tactic of the left is to build coalitions of complainers. Of course once they are in power they find that often the different groups want opposite outcomes.

If their constituent groups are small enough then a strong leader can still preserve some sort of unity and they can muddle through, particularly if they can find a common enemy, like ‘Torees’ or ‘Capitalists’.

But what happens if one of those constituent groups has a strong ideology that they have held by force for, say, 1400 years? What happens if that group counts its numbers in single or even double digit percentages rather than the micro-percentages of the others?

Either such a group will eat left-leaning parties from the inside or they will break out and form their own party and eventually do away with conventional Western parties altogether for, as we know, Alan’s Snack Bar serves the best food in town.

The videos of fighting in Syria show groups of these culinary frequenters of Alans eating emporium and you have to watch them to really appreciate just how utterly brainwashed ALL of them are.

It’s not the religion as such, it’s what it does to people from the moment they are born which is so scary. Once someone reaches adulthood, it’s impossible to reverse. Especially not on a 2-week ‘deradicalisation’ course.

This makes Biden safe – and against my personal assessment that he was to be gone by June. He is – in fact – fireproof . …

BTW, Frank Miller himself, a superstar in the world of comics (whose books have been adapted into big-budget movies) was last month cancelled by Thought Bubble, a comics festival in Harrogate. The reason? Zainab Akhtar, some sort of crowdfunded comics publisher, complained about him:

“the success of shows including Normal People, Fleabag and RuPaul’s Drag Race UK”

Interesting use of the term ‘success’.

I have teenaged children and they’re not interested in this dross, am pretty sure none of their mates are either, there is a good reason the vast majority of young people aren’t watching it. If there was anything up their street, anything their mates raved about, they’d watch it, not rocket science really.

No idea what ‘Normal People’ is, but the much hyped ‘Fleabag’, a couple of episodes of which were watched at an aunty’s, went down like a bag of cold puke (“not funny”, “crap”, “stupid”), and men dressing as women is not either of mine’s cup of tea (I’m pleased to say… am I allowed to be pleased about that, or will that get me a visit from the thought police?)

Daughter would like nature documentaries that “don’t make her cry” , meaning less of the Attenboogie Man and “climate catastrophe”.

Son would love some Sci-Fi. with men in lead roles, presumably straight, white ones (‘people who look like me’ as they always claim black kids demand)… and some attractive young women, ideally in less clothes…

Mum would like some cookery programmes and historical drama with people who look like her… white, British, straight.

Dad would like some history documentaries which actually talked about history, and weren’t just woke propaganda, and some news which was just that news, not even more propaganda.

The whole family would like some comedy which was… you know, funny.

In fact, TV as it used to be, maybe 25-30 years ago?

9pm BBC4 New 3 part American series about Water
No Doubt used as a vehicle to push #ClimateFearPorn

    ep 1 “blah, blah ….
    But the world is changing.
Drought-chasing scientists examine what happens when the pulse falters,
showing how the flow of water is driven by its relationship with life.”

    https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m000z2ct

    ep3 Crisis
Gaza is a microcosm of a world without access to water. As the planet heats up, droughts may have become more commonplace, but that doesn’t mean that water is disappearing.

Storm chasers and photographers track the global changes in giant storms and floods across America. Nasa’s Grace satellites reveal a new map showing global overuse of aquifers. In some places, underground water is being ‘mined’ – finite reserves, which are being used up for profit.

But there are solutions too. New York City uses nature and the Catskill mountains instead of an industrial plant for water treatment, demonstrating a collective appreciation for the importance of water.

    Today’s Climate PRtrickery
basically it’s shoved into 1 out of 4 shows so almost impossible to track it all
Tuesday Woman’s Hour had a segment on Cooking for Climate and going vegan
..yet by Wednesday morning they had gone back and edited it out of the blurb
Why ? It did actually air.

Wednesday the prog almost deviously left the lineup blank except for an XR demo photo
Only 30 minutes before broadcast did they tweet that XR protest would be the main item
Then they tweeted 2 promo tweets during the show
Only 3 hours later did they actually fill in the blurb
Listener Week: XR Climate Anxiety, protesting and economic sustainability with Kate Raworth ( 3 normal topics as well)
XR is protesting in London for a fortnight.
    They’ve warned to expect disruption.
Listener Fiona Atkinson from Kendal got in touch with us to say that she’s joined the group at the age of 65 and was there on Monday.
She’d due to return next week. Her email to us began by saying,
“I and thousands of women will be in London on Mon 23rd August in Trafalgar Square at the start of 2 weeks of the XR protest.”

(The BBC repeating all that detail is PROMOTING the event)

I would love you to cover the women involved in the Climate Crisis debate/protests
and focus on how it will affect our children and grandchildren.”
She is joined by Marion Malcher, 66, who was arrested on Monday for lying in middle of a street with her arm in a suitcase.
She was released without charge and is back at Piccadilly Circus this morning.
So what is motivating older women to protest and is it effective?

(Probably cos they are full time Marxist activists already ?)

Many listeners have been in touch with their concerns about the planet, especially in relation to our ‘growth-at-all costs’ economic system.
One psychoanalyst called Phoebe Wieland emailed us about how she is ‘increasingly seeing clients from all walks of life who feel deep existential anxiety about the climate and ecological situation we face.”
Phoebe asked us to invite mental health professional Sally Weintrobe on to the programme whose new book on the psychological roots of the climate crisis has just been published. *Listeners* also asked us to speak to Kate Raworth who is a prominent eco-economist whose groundbreaking work Doughnut Economics has helped them find hope.

Is it possible that Woman’s Hour have actually connived with XR to construct this 30 mins of programme ?

That programme from Northern Ireland that was on this evening, “Pride of Place”, is about Mid-Ulster Pride who will hold their second Pride parade this September in Cookstown, a market town in Co Tyrone famous for sausages loved by George Best and for being the hometown of wrong-booted comedian Jimmy Cricket, “and there’s more”. Well no, there isn’t that much more at all really.

Cookstown is a small, rural, farming town with a population slightly fewer than 15,000, slightly less than the total number of people who identified as LGB in NI in 2018, according to the ONS, 1.2% of the overall population or about 20,000 people.

There are already much larger, long-established and well-supported parades in Londonderry and Belfast, which provide ample opportunity for any pink-stetsoned ABBA-based antics desired. There is no real need or demand for this parochial parade of poofery, it’s merely political grandstanding, aided and abetted by an Anglican minister who has since left the Church of Ireland because the Church won’t endorse gay marriage. Find a church that will then, that’s the joy of Protestantism isn’t it.

And it’s just another excuse for the bBbc to pretend that what is in fact just more exploitative, stereotypical, cheap and tacky television is in some way challenging the establishment or changing society for the better. It’s not bBbc and nobody but you really gives a shit.
