Start the Week 22 November 2021

The BBC is running compulsory courses for its’ staff . Perhaps the BBC – in a spirit of openess – will publish the contents and cost of said training . Perhaps posters could suggest course content …?
And on Monday night the BBC is broadcasting the first half of a documentary about the relationship of the Royal Princes and The Press – unusually without having given the Royal Household a pre broadcast viewing …

The BBC’S obsession with diversity knows no bounds. I
honestly believe they wont be satisfied until their main
news presenter is transgender .And at least half their presenters, reporters , editors, sub editors researchers, producers, directors
etc etc etc are non binary. Whatever that means !
So Eddie Redmayne now thinks he was wrong to play a
transgender in the Danish Girl. He said it should of been portrayed
by a transgender. For f**ks sake Eddie boy . YOU ARE AN ACTOR!!!
That’s what acting is supposed to be all about. Gay actors
and actresses play straight roles in films. Why shouldn’t they.
Has the world gone mad? Or is it just the BBC ?

By my maths that leaves 19% of jobs for straight white males.
I guess they figure that this massive imbalance on the shop floor will persuade most of these 19% to bugger off so they can go as close to 100% munchkins as they can get.

So…. for all those youngsters starting on a UNI media course right now, if you are straight white and male, best forget it luvvies!

Your maths aren’t correct. The figures aren’t mutually exclusive so all the lesbians will be included in the women category as will probably half the blacks and disabled. So it’s around 33.5% for able hetero white males.

Labour want to protect our borders ….

Having no restrictions on eastern European migrants in 2004 was a “spectacular mistake”, former Labour home secretary Jack Straw has said.

The Labour MP said handing immediate working rights to Poles and others when they joined the EU nine years ago was a “well-intentioned policy we messed up”.

Labour relied on research suggesting 13,000 migrants a year would arrive.

But the influx was much larger than expected and contributed to net migration rising above 200,000 a year.

Unlike France and Germany, which did not give migrants from the ten countries which joined the EU in May 2004 full access to their labour market until 2011, the then Labour government did not insist on any transitional controls.#

The BBC have finally named him, but no picture or any description whatsoever. Nor any mention of his homicide or criminal record which everybody else has listed. Just his name.

Their description makes it sound like he accidentally ran into the parade whilst fleeing from a knife fight. Quite how you hit 40 people by accident is a mystery to me.

Contrast it with what the DT include in their report which the BBC will never include:
‘Mr Brooks Jr was a vocal Black Lives Matter supporter and screenshots from a now-deleted Facebook page appear to show his disapproval of the Kyle Rittenhouse verdict.’

The BBC no longer get any benefit of the doubt from me. I’m quite certain the wording and omission of relevant information about who did it is quite deliberate because he is black. I expect the story will be updated later tonight for the fact-checkers when most people have read the article in it’s current form.

    The Rittenhouse Act
    by countrysquiremagazine
    BY JON ALEXANDER

In light of the recent Kyle Rittenhouse verdict, one thing is clear, both the UK and US need a Rittenhouse law.

Since the verdict the Left-wing media have continued to push outright lies about the trial. Politicians, journalists and activists have been quick to peddle more lies and deliberately ignore the facts presented in court.

Make no mistake, this has angered the establishment in America, a white boy defended himself and dared to fight back against rioting hordes using the BLM organisation as a cover for their savagery. They were trying to burn a city down to the ground, cause billions of dollars worth of damage and potentially kill people. Kyle Rittenhouse had the sheer audacity to object and rush to help the rioters’ victims and his own family who were stuck in the middle of that nightmare.

Standing up to the mob is not allowed, the Left have spent years trying to disarm the Right. Once that happens no one is safe from the mob. Kyle Rittenhouse’s actions are exactly what they fear… Someone being able to fight back against them and their evil actions.

The Rittenhouse Act should make post-court analysis legally accountable. Anybody who takes to media (including Social Media) after a trial and presents “facts” that contradict what appeared in court should face a contempt of court charge. This constant Left-wing disinformation campaign about everyone and everything must be stopped in its tracks. They will attack, bully, smear and torment those who do not toe the line and submit to their dictatorial ways.

A Rittenhouse law should include a hefty fine for the programmes/platforms broadcasting these sentiments unchallenged, fines for those individuals who allow it to go unchallenged and compensation to those individuals and their families defamed. If the channel/news outlet repeatedly violates, they should be forced to issue full page apologies detailing the exact “facts” they misled the public about and on TV shows they should be forced to devote segments to the same. They should he removed off air if the court reckons they are not complying.

We must tackle Left-wing tyranny head on. Appeasing them hasn’t worked, reasoning with them hasn’t worked, it’s about time they faced the consequences of their actions before more people suffer at their hands.

Rittenhouse will no doubt sue, much like Nicholas Sandmann did nearly three years prior when the American media tried to brand him a racist in a sad effort to attack President Trump, and good luck to him. May he earn millions and be a constant source of agony for those on the Left desperate to control the thoughts of the public

With the main parties all moving to the left will there be a new party to replace the conservatives.

The Labour Party are moving left and are being replaced by the new Labour Party, previously known as the conservatives, who have become the party with all the old Labour policies.

There is a huge gap from the centre to the right which needs filling. Possibly with one of the currently small parties such as reform.
If the right leaning parties could get their act together one of them could win an upcoming by election and if that happened it could pave the way for more wins when people see it can be done.

Let’s face it, the whole of Parliament seems intent on going against what the public want.
Immigration for an example, caused by parliaments for the last 20 years and consistently high on the populations agenda is always ignored.
The right would do something about it.
The right would actually get the brexit we voted for done and not the dogs breakfast that The Fat Controller has engineered.
The right would get us out properly.

There are so many things the population wants sorting out, much of it stuff like pc, woke, law and order, schools and universities, the international health service and so on, you all know the things wanted but either ignored or kicked into the long grass.

A true right wing party, unlike all we have currently, would tackle these things.
Maybe call it the new (or real) Conservatives.

Rittenhouse lawyer slams CNN and MSNBC for botching ‘basic facts’ about the case because ‘they did not fit the story they want to tell’

Attorney Mark Richards vented fury at CNN and MSNBC in interview Friday
Accused the networks of twisting facts to fit ‘the story they wanted to tell’
Slammed their coverage as biased for false claims about Rittenhouse

    https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-10228387/Rittenhouse-lawyer-slams-CNN-MSNBC-botching-basic-facts-case.html

When I hear Joe Scarborough saying that my client shot his gun 60 times, that’s wrong,’ said Richards.

Scarborough, the host of MSNBC’s Morning Joe, made a series of inaccurate statements about Rittenhouse as the trial wrapped up last week.

‘He had his mother drive him across state lines, he appointed himself a militia member. He goes around and he ends up unloading — what? — 60 rounds, kills 2 people, wounds a third person…’ Scarborough said on-air.

In reality, Rittenhouse fired some eight shots, and he testified that he drove himself the 20 miles from his home in Antioch to Kenosha. He is not accused of being a member of any militia or extremist group.

Scarborough later took to Twitter to say he misspoke.

Facts and truth have are now subservient to the narrative which they wish to portray.
Increasing numbers of the public are beginning to perceive this but do the left Woke elite care? I think that their brazen hypocrisy on issues such as climate change , or stealing the US election indicates that they don’t. Grade A politics of envy s***-stirring by the awful BBC on the social care changes.
The care home costs minimum is going up from £23k to £86 k.

Only the BBC could declare this to be unfair to the poor.
I have news for them. £86k in South Yorkshire can buy you a house. £160 k in South Yorkshire gets you a 4 bedroomed detached house in. For double that in many parts of the South East you’d struggle to get a studio flat.
Needless to say this was not mentioned at all.

And if someone has a £500 k house in the South East then so what? They had to earn it and pay for it.

Not to mention that care home costs in the said South Yorkshire can be obtained for around a half of those in the South East. And given an average residency time for a care home of say three years then you can run the numbers yourself.

And quite why state benefits should not go towards paying for state-paid care is totally beyond me. What about the poor b***** taxpayer?

And having sorted out Mr S senior’s care for a few years I’m not making this stuff up.

Needless to say, the BBC have managed not to mention any of the above.

Truly appalling reporting, laughably described as journalism.

    * my name for Start the Week, this morning with Andrew Marr in the Chair. It was the first time I had listened to the programme in ages and it was an interesting one. From the BBC Sounds link: “Pentecostalism is global sensation: a Christian movement, founded at the turn of the 20th century by the son of freed slaves, that has become the fastest-growing religion in the world.” Despite the error in that first sentence of the programme description, a couple of things were apparent.

Well known to us regularly reading and posting on this w-site was the Lefty Socialist bias of Marr and the BBC’s guests and ‘fellow-travellers’. The other thing that I took away was how former President Donald Trump still gives the Socialists terror and that also includes his electoral supporters who Andy tried to tar with the Pentecostalist-Republican-redkneck-‘Preppers’ brush.

If you missed it a shorter version is repeated at 9.30 p.m. tonight.

(Edited as its a long article )>

Why I’m considering a return to frontline politics

…“Since March 2020, I have spent a lot of time monitoring the illegal migrant crossings in the English Channel. On repeated occasions I have ventured out to sea to film the dinghies. I have also watched the “official” arrivals into Dover Harbour and found evidence of “unofficial” arrivals by walking the Kent shoreline. By chronicling events in this way, I have been able to make various predictions, including that worse is to come. Indeed, originally I estimated that 20,000 people would arrive on our shores uninvited this year. As we all know, that number has been comfortably breached already and there are more than five weeks to go until 2022 begins.

At nearly every stage of the last 20 months, I have found the overwhelming majority of newspapers and broadcasters to be reluctant to attach the same level of importance to this issue as I do. I know why. It is because they fear being labelled “racist” by the Twitter mob, even though race has nothing to do with it. Yet as the official number of arrivals for 2021 heads towards 25,000 (we still don’t have the Home Office figures for Tuesday 16 November) it does seem as though something is beginning to change. Reports are circulating that the Prime Minister has become fretful. As well he should. On his watch, the mantra of “taking back control” of our borders has descended into farce.

The biggest problem Boris Johnson faces is not the sheer impracticality and cost to the public purse of housing, clothing, feeding and giving free healthcare and education to huge numbers of people who have chosen to leave the safety of France to come to this country. Neither is it the daily expense of conducting the Channel operations. Instead, it is the threat to Britain’s national security and the safety of its citizens. Johnson is ultimately responsible for guarding his people. This is the sacred duty of any prime minister. It should override all others. Yet the present occupant of 10 Downing Street seems to have abandoned his post.

When will Johnson and his Cabinet admit that some of those coming into our country could do us great harm? Just consider what horrors other European states have unearthed. So far in 2021, 4,000 illegal immigrants have crossed into Lithuania from Belarus, a very substantial increase on 2020. Already, the Lithuanian authorities have discovered that 24 of them — all young men — have links to Islamic State or Boko Haram. It’s no wonder Poland is thinking of building a wall to keep such terrorists out, but why is Lithuania so far ahead of Britain in understanding the threat? How is it that the Lithuanian authorities can identify potential terrorists arriving illegally at their border when the UK cannot?

One possible explanation is that when the immigrants are in the Channel and first catch sight of England, they throw all of their identity documents overboard, allowing them to self-identify on arrival at Dover and therefore to slip through the net. All I know is that our Baltic State friends are discovering that Islamic State fighters are being smuggled into Europe by gangs, just as happened in 2015 in the Mediterranean. Indeed, in May 2015, an adviser to the Libyan government, Abdul Basit Haroun, revealed as much to the BBC.

When I raised these concerns at the time in the European Parliament with the then President of the European Commission, Jean-Claude Juncker, the Europhiles who were present just stared at the ground. They did not want to know. Just a few months later, in November 2015, Paris was set upon by gunmen and suicide bombers who slaughtered 130 people and wounded hundreds more. Five of the eight men who committed those barbaric acts had entered France in small boats across the Mediterranean Sea. warn us!

Well over 20,000 undocumented males have arrived in Britain already this year and we don’t know anything about any of them. More to the point, it seems that once they set foot in this country, it is rare that deportation is even attempted, even if their claims have been rejected. The Liverpool suicide bomber, Emad Al Swealmeen, is the latest known example. He was yet another failed asylum seeker. He used fake documents to get into Britain in 2014 and was able to run rings around officials for seven years, staying in this country and living off taxpayers. He is the proof that deportation has become a very rare phenomenon. Why? Because Britain has remained attached to the European Convention on Human Rights.

If this is what the Left calls “diversity”, I can assure them that the vast majority of us don’t want it….”

    Nigel Farage
Writing in the Daily Telegraph (Monday) 2nd Nov 2021.

    https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2021/11/22/considering-return-frontline-politics/

    My Comment:
I remember when the BBC ‘diversity’ crowd predicted that all immigrants were all potential ‘NHS brain surgeons’ and more staff to ‘Save the NHS’ although there is no evidence to support this. They are a liability. As Farage has pointed out, the ‘left’ use immigration as a TOOL to call those that oppose it ‘racists’. And then the EU is clearly behind ALL the problems they now face on all Europe’s far borders, which is mixed up with the Schengen agreement (free movement of people iacross Europe) and the ECHR which has blocked illegals being sent home, if they can make a local woman pregnant (and claim family rights). Plus the fact that the UK seems incapable of the simplest deportation on grounds of terrorists, thieves and petty crooks with ‘a ‘foreign’ track record, that we have no idea who we are letting into the country.

That is why Farage is so right. Proper leaders do not ignore an invasion. The media avoid any of it in case the ‘racist’ label is tagged. And yet it is the BBC who are the worst culprits in defining crime as ‘racial’ when it nothing of the sort, its people smuggling, terrorist crimes and identity false identity to follow a new crime syndicate in the UK. We are bing told by the BBC to look the other way. And the left think they will vote for ‘Labour’. The land of never never end benefits. And that defines the last Labour government, and the main reason why they will not be elected as government, despite the BBC claiming we are all ‘racists’. At some point the BBC will need to be ‘re-educated’ with the facts of life. Removing its fat fee and TV license is for starters.

As the BBC promised ‘apocolypse now’ during COPT26, the reality is very different only a week later. Early Sea Ice in the Arctic. Just when the BBC predicted that all the ‘extra’ heat was being ‘hidden’ in the sea.

    DT Today:
Dozens of ships stuck in Arctic as ice freezes early in reverse of recent warming winters

More than two dozen cargo vessels are stuck in Russia’s Arctic ice, waiting for ice-breakers to come to their rescue, after an inaccurate forecast from the country’s Met Office.

Maritime traffic in the Northern Sea Route has been on the rise in recent years as rapidly warming winters reduce ice cover, and Russia invests in its Arctic ports in preparation for a further boom.

But this year several segments of the Northern Sea Route froze up about a fortnight earlier than usual, catching many ships unawares.

And so on. I am sure the BBC will say its warmer than usual. As they seem to do, every day, even when its clearly colder. Why is that?

Sixteen per cent of visits to NHS hospital A&E Depts are made by less than one per cent of the population. That is the result of a study and report: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-59351050. I did not hear anyone on the TOADY Programme ask “Why?” What sort of quality journalism and radio presenting is that, Mr Davie?

Dan Bongino’s delivery usually isn’t to British tastes (promo ads and a bit too shouty for delicate ears…) – but today’s coverage is commendably restrained.

What’s interesting is that his main web site seems to be under attack (streams repeatedly fall over , the content isn’t showing on YouTube – for me on a 4G connection)

Rumble however is up and streaming OK

His aggregate / collection of MSM smearing scumbucketry and brazen lies is quite something to behold both concerning the Waukesha attack and the Rittenhouse trial.

imo – well worth a listen. Comparisons to our state broadcaster and Guardianland are inescapable. The smearing liars deserve a thorough pasting.

Strange claims also, that plastics are derived from natural products, therefore harmless.

I am not part of the hysteria against plastics but his arguments are not helpful:

Hydrogen sulphide, chlorine gas etc can also be derived from natural products. Oil is natural but concentrated and in the wrong place is lethal to many life forms.

And plastics are not the only ingredients of plastic, we have biocides, flame retardents, plasticisers to name a few, the debate about plasticisers is an old one, and ongoing, but older plastics were not as regulated in additives as more recent ones and there are many types of plastics that it would not be advisable to store food in.

The idea that plastics do not gas off in any way also does not hold water as anyone who has sat in a brand new car and wondered what that smell is can tell you.

Lead in plasics, especially older plastics

        Abstract

X-ray fluorescence spectrometry has been employed to measure Pb in a wide range of consumer and environmental plastics, including food-packaging material, household goods, electronic casings, beach litter and agricultural waste. Results reveal high concentrations of Pb (>1000 mg kg−1) in historical items that are still in use or circulation (e.g. toys, construction plastics, wiring insulation) and variable, but generally lower concentrations in more recently manufactured articles. Analysis of Br, Cl and Cr, proxies for brominated flame retardants, polyvinyl chloride (PVC) and chromate pigments, respectively, suggests that as historical material is recycled, Pb from electronic plastics and pigments, but not PVC, is dispersed into a variety of newer products. Although most cases in the consumer sector comply with relevant EU Directives, some products that are non-compliant highlight shortfalls in regulations where recycling is involved and potential problems arising from the direct fashioning of industrial plastics into new consumer goods through attempts to be environmentally positive. The uncontrolled loss of historical and recycled plastics has also resulted in Pb contamination of the environment. Here, it is proposed that litter can be classified as hazardous depending on its Pb content and according to existing regulations that embrace consumer plastics.

          I do take your point
Food grade plastics are for food not all plastics.
However I think that although lead is generally toxic
The safe amount in your body is above zero.
          If I remember correctly.

@Zephir I did say they were bold claims, so are challengeable.

“that plastics are derived from natural products, therefore harmless.”
I hope he didn’t claim that
cos that is a kind of Nature Fallacy
Plenty of natural things are toxic, eg some flowers and seeds.
        Natural doesn’t equal “safe”

        • Zephir says:

The inference was there with saying things like:
Nearly all plastics originate from living matter formed with solar energy by photosynthesis in plants on land and sea.”

          and that “plastic is inert”

But it contains chemicals that are not.

          Regarding lead:

Current consensus in the scientific community is that there is no safe level of exposure to lead (Pb), and in particular for young children (Lanphear, 2017, Spungen, 2019). Thus, cumulative childhood exposure can result in damage to the brain and nervous system, slowed growth, anaemia, hearing loss, and behavioural and learning problems, while in adults exposure can increase blood pressure and incidence of hypertension, decrease kidney function and reduce fertility (Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry, 2007).

The problem, as with many other pollutants, is where they are and how they are disposed of.

          • Zephir says:

To say that plastics are inert is just silly, take a plastic bucket, it is flexible because of chemicals added, leave it in the sunshine for a few weeks or more and it will shatter as the chemicals have gassed off due to the suns ultra violet

            therefore not inert

in a strongly worded joint statement, given to the BBC ahead of last night’s broadcast, the three royal households representing the Queen, Charles and William said: ‘A free, responsible and open Press is of vital importance to a healthy democracy.

‘However, too often overblown and unfounded claims from unnamed sources are presented as facts and it is disappointing when anyone, including the BBC, gives them credibility.’

The hour-longer episode one of the divisive two-part series, which was aired on Monday night, featured:

Claims by Omid Scobie – the journalist who co-authored the controversial Finding Freedom biography about the Sussexes – that negative stories about the Sussexes had been briefed by other royal households
Counter-claims by journalist and MailOnline columnist Dan Wootton that people ‘behind the scenes’ had come forward to the press after ‘getting annoyed’ at the behaviour of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry
An on-camera interview by Meghan Markle’s lawyer in which she denied claims that the Duchess of Sussex had ‘bullied’ royal staff
An apology by a private detective who admitted he had targeted Prince Harry’s then girlfriend Chelsy Davy in 2004
Claims that Prince Charles had been ‘overshadowed’ by a decision by Harry’s press secretary to release a statement criticising the press’s coverage of his relationship with Meghan Markle while he was on a royal trip to Oman
