Midweek 8 June 2022

A rarity on the 7th – a conservative MP on live TV challenging a BBC reporter about the campaign the BBC has been running to oust the democratically elected Prime Minister of the UK . The BBC will put him on the target list too . Unbiased Right ?

Ukraine War: Why I risk my life to provide aid in Ukraine
    By Orla Guerin

    https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-61720402

“At first glance they are an unlikely line up for aid workers in a war zone – a dog trainer from Kent, a farmer from Cornwall, and a technology executive from Sussex.
They teamed up here and have spent months in harm’s way evacuating the elderly and the frail from areas near front lines. They fund themselves and prefer not to be named.”

I don’t understand why Ukraine needs these unskilled people, they have a population of 44 million, surely that’s a big enough pool to draw from.
    What am I missing?

The video version of this story was on the evening BBC News, I found it very peculiar, like a daily dose of propaganda. Perhaps you disagree with me:
To me, the report is emotion led. The three are all young, middle-class, telegenic and come across (dare I say it) a bit like actors. (Maybe I’m just woefully behind the times with the TikTok generation.)
The older woman (at about 2:10 in the video) says, “We ARE all Europeans. . . and an attack on Ukraine, by Russia, is attack on all of us.” A couple of boxes ticked there.

The Russian annual spending on defence is 70 billion Euros.

The EU are financing the invasion of Ukraine.

The BBC and other UK broadcasters seem to approve of this because they never join the dots.

This is new new woke BBC with a very specific target audience : all the stories are about empathy and victims. I have almost no clue about the REAL news – ie what is actually happening in the war.

The utter madness of the tv advertising industry has just presented me with the ultimate in unbelievable crap.

Witness the scene, a coffee joint ordering counter. White woman in queue ask for a coffee, the black woman barista says “and what is your name ?” the white woman responds “no you got the wrong idea, I already have a girlfriend” to which the black lady responds “no you got the wrong idea, I just need to write it on the paper cup!”

So which company was this little pushy pantomime arranged for?

McD? Costa?….. nope it was Paddy Power betting agents.

I would dare to bet that in the beer-fumed innards of the average paddy power betting shop the average punter doesn’t even know what a lesbian is.

It’s bizarre and highlights the total disconnect that advertising agencies have with any sort of reality.

It’s an unprecedented move against freedom of choice, a very German trait if you ask me.

If the USA still had a strong president he would just tell them to take a running jump and apply massive sanctions on all EU goods destined for the USA i.e. Trump would have done this like a shot. But the EU know that with crazy buffoon Biden in charge they will get away with it.

The BBC just have no idea how to handle real people like that and our Country needs many more politicians of his ilk to repair the damage being done by the shyster self-centred bunch in Parliament.

Heart-warming to see that BBC drone get put in her place. She lied so easily about the BBC being even-handed it was breath taking.

Don’t know how that fits with her online statement, positive as it was, that BoJo lied to the Queen, to Parliament and to God knows who else.

Might be a fact, but not yet proven, only an assertion, as is Al Beeb’s way, and that of Liebor.

It’s just amazing how often I only find out about these stories on the BBC AFTER they have been found guilty. Then, when I search with google I find an original story I never saw. Even though I check their news page every day.

You don’t get empathy like this in reports of any far-right nut-job:

“She never did anything that indicated to me that she wanted to harm another living thing,” he said, recalling one occasion when she caught a lizard on a class field trip, holding it carefully so other students could study it. “I can’t understand how someone who has such a love of nature and people would do that.”

Give them their due : the BBC are very, very good at hiding reports that don’t fit the agenda – but are in the archive for the bias checkers.

The Tories must have known that the BBC has been a threat to any even mildly conservative agenda , to Brexit, to British culture , to our democracy , to the mere existence of British society as we knew it, fir the last three or four decades. After all we on this site have known that .
Yet they did nothing about it despite being the party in government for 15 of the past thirty years not counting the coalition years. Many posters on this site said that the longer they allowed the BBC to flagrantly breach its charter the more difficult it would become to deal with it.
It’s no good the Tories moaning about the BBC now . It’s like moaning that your garden is full of weeds when you haven’t bothered to weed it for thirty years.
In my view it’s pointless waiting for the gutless Tories to do anything about the BBC , we the true British people should mount a campaign of civil disobedience and refuse to pay the TV License. I know that many of us on this site are already refuseniks . We need to recruit others. I think that more and more people are becoming refuseniks across the country judging by the posts on the Telegraph , Mail and Spectator.
Boris could help us and himself by decriminalisation but I bet he doesn’t have the balls to even do that.

“Bradford was chosen last week as the UK’s City of Culture for 2025. This week, Bradford Cineworld – as well as a number of other cinemas around the country – announced that a new movie called The Lady of Heaven was being pulled from schedules following protests by angry Muslims. So is this what we can expect from a City of Culture in 21st-century Britain – the creation of all kinds of culture, except for anything that might offend some adherents to the Islamic faith?”There were protests outside cinemas in the UK following its release last week. It all brought to mind the Christian protests outside cinemas that showed Monty Python’s Life of Brian in 1979. (Though, entirely predictably, the high-minded liberals and leftists who would have condemned that 1970s Christian touchiness as backward and ridiculous have been quiet as mice over the Muslim fury that has greeted The Lady of Heaven.)

What is most striking about the noisy protests outside the cinemas showing this supposedly sinful film is how much the protesters sound like the godless woke mob.

‘It’s not OK to offend 1.8 billion’, declared one placard. At the protest outside the Cineworld in Bradford, one man said through a megaphone:

‘We are very offended. We have a right not to be insulted.’

This may be a sternly religious individual but he sounded for all the world like one of those blue-haired radicals who is forever chasing off his/her/their campus any speaker that dares to go against the grain and cause offence.

Radical Muslims who believe they should have the right to crush culture that offends their religious sensibilities have clearly learned a thing or two from the secular cancel-culture brigade. They’ve dispensed with the fire-and-brimstone case for punishing those who blaspheme against their faith. Instead they’ve embraced the very modern idea that we all have the right to be protected from offence. Which we don’t, by the way.

This confirms that today’s censorious culture, in which everyone from gender-critical feminists to pro-life societies on campus are being cancelled for causing offence, has emboldened regressive elements in society. The cancellation frenzy has resuscitated ideas that really ought to have died out in the 20th century, if not earlier. This includes the idea of blasphemy, the notion that it ought to be a punishable offence to mock or simply just depict gods and prophets.

Alarmingly, cinema managers have capitulated to the theocratic mobs that have gathered outside their premises. In one of the most disturbing video clips I have seen so far this year, a cinema employee in Sheffield uses a megaphone to tell protesters that the film has been withdrawn from the schedule. ‘Allahu Akbar!’, the crowd yells in victory.

This is chilling. Call me an old-fashioned secular democrat, but isn’t it completely wrong, and morally perverse, to allow small numbers of religious hotheads to determine what the rest of us can see and watch? This grants a veto to fundamentalists, allowing them to shape public culture to their own tastes and prejudices. It is profoundly illiberal.

It is cowardly too. Cineworld has cancelled all screenings of The Lady of Heaven, saying it did so to ‘ensure the safety of our staff and customers’. Shame on them. These are meant to be arenas of culture, spaces for audiences to watch all kinds of movies, from the twee to the controversial. And yet they have now capitulated to an angry mob and allowed protestors to dictate what can and cannot be shown in cinemas in 2022. What an extraordinary dereliction of duty.

It isn’t The Lady of Heaven that is shocking (and anyway, moviemakers should be perfectly at liberty to shock as much as they please). No, it’s the fact that in modern Britain, small numbers of Islamic activists can compel an entire cinema chain to dump a movie that they don’t like. This suggests our culture is being held hostage to intolerant minorities. And people say cancel culture is a myth.”

Excellent article in the Spectator by Brendan O’Neil condemning the Muslim reaction to the film ‘TheLady from Heaven ‘. He makes one serious error though ,he writes that a fanatical minority of British Muslims are responsible for the protests and threats. No Brendan the ones that are protesting have the full backing and support of 90% plus of all Muslims in this country.
How long before the British people wake up and realise that the Muslims will eventually take over and force us to accept their barbaric medieval way of life.
What is happening outside Cine World cinemas up and down our land is a far better reflection of the true state of our country than the candy floss stupidity on the Mall earlier this week.

This ‘The Lady from Heaven’ business is really about sectarian differences within Islam, hence the comments about ‘orthodoxy’.

The film was made by a Shia Muslim, for Shia audiences (I suspect he is Iranian?), and depicts the Prophet and his family according to the Shia Hadith, which is completely at odds with what the Sunni (‘orthodox’) Hadith claims about them. The Sunni also (usually) believe the Prophet and his kin are too holy to be depicted by human hand, whereas many of the Shia are okay with that sort of thing.

Wars have been fought and minorities mercilessly persecuted over less (in the Middle East, anyway – and increasingly in the UK/Europe too – one of the ‘deals’ that comes with the package.)

I’m not sure all those protesting are aware that this is what they’re protesting about either (they’re not all the brightest sparks from what I’ve seen), but I’m pretty sure they’ve been told that any ‘right thinking’ (e.g. Sunni) Muslim SHOULD be protesting about it.

Zephir is right, there are similarities to the ‘eco warrior’, ‘SJW’, ‘Momentum’, ‘BLM’ etc… ‘blackshirts’, every ’cause’ seems to have it’s own private army of (thick as pig shite) ‘enforcers’ and blue haired ‘heavies’ to intimidate and suppress any ‘wrong thought’ they’re told to these days.

The film sounds quite niche, by the way, I suspect you’d need to be a diehard Shia to enjoy (or even understand) it, so, unless you happen to be one of those, I don’t think you’re missing much.

Images of an Israeli citizen inside a mosque in Medina, Saudi Arabia, have caused anger among Arab users on social media.

Russian-born Ben Tzion, 31, has been posting photos of himself visiting Iran, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia and Jordan.

His Facebook page includes photos of him inside Medina Prophet’s Mosque, one of Islam’s holiest sites.

The prisoners used to conceal money and stuff in a ‘charger’ – a waterproof steel tube which they then – er – stuck up their rears for safe keeping!

That fact, plus the connotation of a ‘cable’ (or the ‘laying of’, in uncouth company), seems to bring some sort of watering to the eyes, and to think that there would also be a male and female plug for connection, the entire issue is really a bridge too far at this time of day…

In both cases JustRemainin goes in with the s***-stirring and asks in terms ‘shouldn’t the government do more’ such as bail the rail industry out with even more taxpayer billions.
To their credit, the interviewees both push back, noting for instance that the (empty) trains kept running throughout the pandemic, no furlough, no redundancies. The government had done plenty.

But it still wasn’t enough. Sajiv Javid is on to talk about the latest report on the hopeless NHS. But Useless Hussein is straight in with ‘before that let’s talk about transport’. Last night I watched the bigotted gay Dan Wooten on GB News deliberately lying and falsifying a news story in order to have yet another tiring pop at the trannies who he clearly hates with a burning passion. It wouldn’t perhaps be quite so bad if Dan Wooton wasn’t himself a camp gay man. but he is!

He’s had several goes at trans people especially the cyclist Emily Bridges who has been as a result banned from competing in womens cycle races.

So for some reason all the oddities formed something called a “non binary race” (whatever that is) and anyone who claimed they fitted into this could enter male or female, and what ever shades they claim to be in between. Emily Bridges won the race and a woman finished third, and there were no complaints from anyone.

This was not however what Wooton reported, he claimed that a trans cyclist WHO USED TO BE A MAN !!!!! had won a “major womens cycling event forcing a woman into third place.

This was a lie – a big fat provable lie, and it was a lie told to further Wottons bigotry and hate of trannies as he went on to say that all trannies should be excluded from sport for the rest of their lives.

If someone had said something similar about gay men he would have gone up the wall. Should gay men be put in a segregated prison where they can’t rape the straight ones? Should gay men be banned from public swimming baths to prevent the spread of monkey pox?

You can see how easily similar cases can be made.

There is without a doubt bigotry on both sides and the cyclist Emily Bridges has indeed taken the piss expecting to smoothly move from the male sport to the female one where she clearly had a massive advantage, and has come unstuck as a result.

But Bridges is not a presenter on a national news media show charged with being honest and truthful and Wooton is. How can we now believe anything he says when he is prepared, not to distort the truth but to blatantly lie about it in order to make a situation where he can pass bigotted comments.

Worse still it puts the entire GB News network in danger because someone with a SJW type agenda is going to have seen that and report it, and there’s no defence because it’s a provable lie! What else is Wooton lying about ?

“All i know is blokes shouldnt be in lady’s changing rooms . ”

But it’s OK for women to be in the mens?

For years women have demanded access to every single male only area going, from mens clubs working mens clubs toilets, everything they wanted, and they are still doing that, and the Blue Labour government is backing them to the hilt on this. IN fact it’s now gone so far that women must be included in any attempt to get charitable money from the national lottery, so brass bands like Black Dyke Mills band had to have a certain number of women members regardless of whether they were good enough.

So forgive me for cracking a wry smile when you say “blokes shouldn’t be in womens changing room”, as I think that what’s sauce for goose is sauce for the gander, and if women don’t like that then they shouldn’t have been doing it to the men should they?

    A strikingly repetitive edition

Snippets of health news first – well, you never know when the subject of public health might suddenly rise up to grab all the headlines: Monkeypox elevated to same status as plague… Covid-19 was first made a notifiable disease on March 5 2020 before the country went into lockdown (Telegraph)

At this jucture I’m oddly reminded of the former BBC TV comedy It Ain’t Half Hot, Mum, specifically the rather excitable officer, respresenting something of a silly arse sidekick to the colonel – as endearingly played by Michael Knowles – and the colonel’s typical reprimand: “Steady on, Ashwood!

Saturday night thunder FEVER. Double whammy of storms and pollen will cause sneeze hell (Daily Star)

In remarkable contrast to their headline dire warnings another feature in the Star advises: Always look on the bright side of life. Coz optimists live longer

Her Majesty’s loyal Daily Express picks up on the same report – and gives it a Royal twist: It’s official: Be an optimist like the Queen and live longer

Ancient Chinese philosophy gave us the concept of Yin and Yang – so the Express balances their appeal for optimism with: Summer of strikes threaten travel misery

In the western world the Old Testament book of Job reminds us: “The Lord giveth and the Lord taketh away” – that phrase being widely employed in funeral services.

Despite taking-the-knee, rainbow armbands and bizarre self-defeating diversity penalty shootout tactics, we note that when the chips were down this time around Gareth Southgate didn’t present one of his young black players with the chance to redeem themselves when the moment came for a vital spot kick: Kane makes a point with 50th goal for England – you can bet the farm on Harry from the penalty spot and as Spurs fans like to chant: “He’s one of our own

On the subject of race relations “Too much too young” was the Two-Tone hit as performed in 1980 by the Specials. Sadly, a segueway to…

Sad Exit. Emma Radacanu 19, was forced by an injury to abandon her first match at the Rothesay Open in Nottingham, imperilling her Wimbledon plans – she famously has more corporate endorsements than tornament victories to her name – but at least she has a trophy cabinet – which is more than can be said for Harry Kane’s era at Spurs. I can say that, I’m a Spurs fan – well, I was before VAR and taking-the-knee.

What’s the broadsheet newsprint equivalent of a radio shockjock? Allison Pearson attempts to wrench our attention in a move akin to bursting into a unwitting neighbour’s kitchen starkers forcing us to splutter out our cornflacks: My love affair with Boris is over (Telegraph) – figuratively. You and me both, luv. I’d date my falling out with BoJo to roughly March-April 2020.

    And in politics…

Naturally the BBC online press review prioritises: ‘Tory MPs plan vote strikes’ and ‘rail shutdown’

    Three strikes and you’re out?

An analogy, of sorts, for the age of new media.

I walk the dogs each day.

They are medium sized, well trained, calm and friendly to all.

They do not need leads in the park as they obey commands, and walk to heel.

Unfortunately, there are often yappy, stressed out, overindulged little runts too, with their dogs, on leads, straining as they scream. The dogs too.

So we just avoid and, if possible, ignore them. Like most. They are in the minority.

Thing is, the yappy owners see the issue as the well behaved dogs not being tethered as they have to their nut job canines. Their lack of control is not possible.

So now they are demanding, with full support of local democracy bbc media, that the council require leads for all.

This will not stop the yappy dogs, but will suppress those around until the nutters find a new outrage cause.

The council, being lazy and spineless, sees no downside. Cave… Placate the loons, and extra revenue.

We had a German Shepherd which never hurt a fly but was big, fast and scared nevous people.

When we were out, if I could see to the distance that nobody else was around I would let her off the lead. When we got near a ben I couldn’t see round or whatever I put her on the extending lead.

It worked perfectly : the main problem was other people’s dogs just appearing round the bend then running up to ours – who was by now trying to pull me over as she was shackled and they weren’t. But what amazed me the most is that more than once, the other owner shouted at me to pull my dog further in because it was too close to theirs.

Sometimes you get a glimpse into the extreme self-centred world a LOT of people live in. That’s how I have learned through experience to regard Leftists : shallow and self-centred once you scrape through the veneer of hypocrisy. Along with all the other attributes which are consequences of such a character like greed, hate, jealousy and spite.

Guest, my dog is one of those ‘uncontrollable’ types (not little mind!), but he’s a rescue (ex-Traveller’s dog), and one we got rather later in his life, so although we’ve tried (and tried, and tried) there is a limit on how much ‘training’ can be installed (it’s partly his breed too – well known for being ‘independent minded’, apparently – we didn’t know that when we got him).

The result is if a dog off the lead runs passed he wants to go play, and is a right handful to sort out. However, having had well trained dogs in the past, and been happy to let them off the lead, I don’t think it’s fair for my dog’s ‘issues’ to impinge on their, or their owner’s enjoyment, and feel it’s MY responsibility to control MY dog in that situation.

It’s all about responsibility, which seems to be a word completely alien to many in 2022.

Outside media bubble world life is varied, and complex.

It used to be one muddled along together using common sense and decency. No longer.

Ours were puppies from farms. Weaned, parented and then cared for with canine values of love, reward and appropriate correction thereafter.

I admire those who adopt rescues. Preferably those knowing what they are taking on. Many do and behave responsibly, recognising the challenges of working with them. Other dog owners need to respect that.

We feel working dogs need to be worked, run, play… free. But if we see a walker with one likely to be spooked, if they do look like responding badly simply call ours to heel.

There are few bad dogs, but some have had awful owners or bad lives, so playing by a few sensible rules all round is the best.

So thank you for your attitude and actions.

Unfortunately around here there was a spate of XR housewives, many female, getting bored and setting up Thai or Romanian ‘charities’, and rather than using funds to look after abused pooches locally, blowing bazillions to fly them over here for fellow stressed out harridans and harpies to set them off worse screeching at folk playing catch the other side of the park or writing to Facebook and attracting a BBC Shire ‘reporter’ to do a ‘do you think ‘we’ should…’ hit piece where an imported minority problem is imposed on the majority… because… reasons.

I have no issues with fining dog walkers allowing fouling uncleared, but do note the authorities appear to operate day time only and vanish after hours as the local chevaliers ‘walk’ (most towed on leads at least) their attack breeds and feel clearing obligations are exempted like a faith protestor threatening away outside a cinema or school gate.

Dual track establishment activity leads only one place.

On a side note, whilst we hope for many years more with ours, I have been tapping numbers of canine lifespans and human health over ability ambitions. This can also create stress in the dog.

It would not be fair to have an active dog if not properly exercised. I am aware a few breeds are likely to fit revised complementary needs come the time. Thereafter the rehoming when my time comes will with luck be easy enough with those nice enough to adopt.

The last couple of generations can’t control their kids – don’t want to/don’t know how to, so expecting them to train and discipline a dog ain’t gonna happen. How many tattooed out of work layabouts on run down council estates, own a bull terrier, then we hear its killed a child. Cute little puppies don’t stay cute little puppies.

I’ve had a dog in my life forever, (labs, long haired collie, whippets, border terriers), so, different dogs with different temperaments and needs. I know my own limitations, and my past lifestyle couldn’t deal with a German Shepherd, or Dobermann, etc. My neighbour has never owned a dog, and now has a rescue Huskie – which seem to be currently in vogue. Certain dogs are ‘pack’ dogs, which includes Huskies. When she goes out, it howls constantly, which she clearly doesn’t hear, so the attached neighbours the other side are being driven nuts by it.
Potential dog owners today do not give enough thought to getting a dog that fits their lifestyle. They just see a cute puppy – but should look at the size of the paws !

Virtually ever single fatal dog attack has been owned by someone in social housing and it doesn’t take a Rocket surgeon to work out that there’s a connection which in our Socialist country cannot be acted on because of the crippling effects of Socialism.

Same with Postal worker who report far more dog attacks on social housing estates than anywhere else.

The answer of course is a simple one our left wing government cannot even envisage. limit the breeds and sizes of dogs which can be kept whilst in social housing or living off the public purse, failing to comply should result in immediate eviction and loss of animal and benefits. Failure of council / housing association staff to act after information is received, immediate dismissal, two year prison sentence and possible liability for compensation should a victim be the result of inaction.

Our current hound was rescued from Irish Travellers here in the UK, bred for hare/drag coursing, trained on people’s stolen pet cats (the only ‘training’ he received as a puppy), beaten, and left outside on a chain.

The greyhound rescue centre gave me a call, knowing my situation, and asked if I’d want to take him on (he’s my third rescue, so I didn’t go into it blind). I said ‘yes’, and I don’t regret it, he’s a lovely dog and deserved a second chance, but anyone considering a rescue mutt needs to be aware there is extra effort involved – it’s that ‘responsibility’ thing again.

Oh, and Bris, he has paws as big as saucers, and legs to match, but he curls up into a little ball on the settee, is very friendly (except with cats!), and I’ve had more offers to buy him than you’d believe.

Well done Briss! All sighthounds are lovely, noble-spirited dogs, and sadly, so often abused because of their gentle and willing character.

My last was a beautiful, brindle lurcher/whippet cross, had her from a pup until she died aged 17 and a half, losing her was so sad it was a few years ’til I’d even consider getting a ‘replacement’.

Our current lad is a very handsome, very tall Saluki X (some dog people think he’s a Borzoi, or got Borzoi blood). Absolutely bonkers, fastest breed from a standing start due to webbing/hair between the toes. Love him to bits, and wonderful, loyal personality, but stubborn and independent with it.

My home is only a little cottage, 7 greyhounds would fill it, and then there’d be that wet dog smell after a walk in the rain… and dog breath, and all the poop in the garden!

Monday afternoon waiting in Raynes Park David Lloyd car park for my wife and our grandson to come out after his tennis lesson. Heard a kid screeching, looked in the rear mirror and saw this 6-7 year old kid of AsianME origin yelling at his Mum who was carrying a younger kid past my car. She walked on, the yelling behind me continued and then I heard/felt a bang at the rear of my car. The truculent little bleeder had kicked it. I called to his Mum and suggested he needed to be controlled as he clearly couldn’t control himself.

She told him to apologise, which he refused to do, of course. If a 6 year old of mine had done that he would have apologised and would still have got a slapped leg.

So much rage on “biasedbbc” but no collaboration.

10 biasedbbc users supporting each other on social media could make a difference.

Suppose we had a weekly target such as “BBC More or Less” this morning using a glove puppet economist to declare that our economic problems could be solved by free migration (migration suppresses wage rises). We all tweet to @BBCMoreOrLess, copied to @BBC, @Ofcom, @CommonsDCMS etc. Complain to our MPs. etc.

The volume will be noticed by a few influential people.

If we avoided race we would not be instantly dismissed.

We could refine the list of key people to contact and use biasedbbc as the meeting place for the weekly campaigns.

It would not be much more onerous than commenting here but here you are preaching to the converted.

TWatO Watch #1 – I just had to laugh at the mention of that name

Russia v. Ukraine. The Montacutie doesn’t normally cover much about it, so in the absence of Partygate and with PMQs and ‘the-cost-of-living-crisis’ done and dusted, the attention is turned to it. Sarah invites on Christopher Steele with the introduction “He used to run the Russia Desk for our Security Services and then did much of the work to reveal how Russia was involved in getting President Trump elected.”. Yes. And that was widely discredited, I seem to recall.

How much is Christopher Steele’s contribution to TWatO worth?

    . . . ° o O o ° . . . and I may have over-estimated a bit there.

It is scandalous that the BBC is using Christopher Steele. Even CNN describe Steele as bent:

“Two special counsel investigations, multiple congressional inquiries, civil lawsuits in the US and the United Kingdom, and an internal Justice Department review have now fully unspooled the behind-the-scenes role that some Democrats played in this saga. They paid for the research, funneled information to Steele’s sources, and then urged the FBI to investigate Trump’s connections to Russia.”

      https://edition.cnn.com/2021/11/18/politics/steele-dossier-reckoning/index.html

Steele is known to be on the Corporate Elite payroll and known to have produced a fake dossier. How can the BBC introduce him as you say: ““He used to run the Russia Desk for our Security Services and then did much of the work to reveal how Russia was involved in getting President Trump elected.”

This needs a snow storm of protest direct to the BBC and their controllers now it has been spotted here. We can’t keep spotting these malicious acts by the BBC and just peter out into moaning.

Here’s an article on the ‘Used to run the Russia Desk’ hoaxer from less than a month ago in the Wall Street Journal. The second sentence of this paragraph is a perfect description of the BBC:

“Mr. Trump may be a compendium of human vices but he will always be the president who withstood the most insidious, organized slur in modern memory. His enemies did that for him, not least among them a largely cretinous media that showed its true colors, which turned out to have nothing to do with fearless and searching concern for the truth.”

      https://www.wsj.com/articles/what-did-the-steele-hoax-cost-america-russia-clinton-trump-lies-intelligence-court-trial-dossier-politics-11652470728

Of course, even the BBC knows it was a hoax, not that it will stop them. Here’s their own report from last November on the arrest of Igor Danchenko, who was accused of lying to the FBI (Danchenko worked with Steele on the so-called dossier):

Why filling up your car could soon cost £100

Fuel prices: Why is petrol so expensive in the UK?

    https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-52188448

Now come on BBC! Your Justin Rowlatt environmental chappie must surely be rubbing his hands together in this enforced green push, so from a BBC perspective higher fuel prices = green and good not bad surely?

Must be helping us to get to Net Zero!

Or is a build-up to another go at Boris methinks?

Oh! and the inference they give that this is a UK problem (Brexit maybe?) is dashed by this chart of European pump prices…

    https://www.globalpetrolprices.com/gasoline_prices/Europe/

UK sitting currently as the fourteenth highest pump prices in Europe – some way cheaper for instance than France, Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Greece, Finland, Portugal, Spain, Belgium, Switzerland, Netherlands. So being within the EU doesn’t seem to help much does it?

As the 1940’s saying goes: “Don’t you know there’s a war on?” or as the BBC’s Arch Enemy Basil would say “Don’t mention the war!”

Some practical info for dealing wit the NHS
Yesterday we had to help a pensioner out
#1 Although people complain they can’t get doctors appointments
I find the GP’s email is working quite well
I sent an email 9am and got a reply at 11am
Now that didn’t answer my question , it just asked for the patients full name ..strange cos I already given her address and the name was already in the email chain
Unfortunately there was no email reply that day
but the doctor did phone me this morning first thing.

#2 We did find that driving a bedridden patient to A & E was more efficient than using an ambulance. Someone had called an ambulance but the service made it clear they couldn’t give wait times and weren’t interested in talking unless we’d been waiting at least 6 hours. They also were non committal about recommending bringing in the patient ourselves .. just saying it was a possibility if it was safe.
As it was we put the patient in a van and got there in 15 mins and she waited 45 mins in a not super busy department . Then we left there was a queue of ambulances waiting to come in. So it seems in this case we got her treatment 5 hours earlier than using an ambulance.
