Midweek 17 August 2022

Unpleasantness at the BBC . Staff are threatening to strike over the merger of 1 BBC propaganda News channel with another .There’s a petition to save it. At the time of posting this it has 2700 signatures in 48 hours .( There is also a petition to save Channel 4 from being sold – there millions of signatures – actually 9300… with 5800 in 4 months on the parliament site .).Any dissent within the BBC must be welcomed and encouraged – it’s a long battle to kill it – but we will .

    Today

Some kidult called Katie razzle is in her happy place – with all her chums at the Edinburgh festival . I wonder if any Scottish people are involved ? Does fatty blackford do stand up other than PMQs ? Gordon Brown ? Andy Murray do a gig ?

Katie is a real turn off – she reminds people like me just how alien these BBC people are . Meanwhile our Justin drives a self drive car – something we poor people will never afford to do .
It almost seems as though they go through the motions with the ‘cost of living crisis ‘ then return to the real world of best business seats on long hall or best off shore tax tricks …

Fatty Blackford would be able to do a great Les Dawson sketch, if he lost a bit of weight, and with “party leader” substituted for “mother in law”

A missed opportunity, I’d pay good money to see that.

I noticed the Razzall creature got in the obligatory reference to “lack of diversity” at the Edinburgh Festival, in an interview with a lady on Today (at 08:20 approx). Everything now has to be seen in terms of ethnic minorities and nothing can be left alone without cultural Marxist meddling and sh1t-stirring. I loathe ‘Today’ and the BBC.

Just when you thought the Ukraine conflict was perhaps lessening and food supplies were being moved again out of Odessa another European conflict looks ready to erupt, possibly orchestrated by Russia, but this time directly involving NATO

    https://www.reuters.com/world/europe/nato-says-ready-intervene-if-serbia-kosovo-stability-risk-2022-08-17/

So here we are again, with an invasion believed to be planned for next month, and hardly anyone aware of it. Another Balkan war is the last thing we need, last time Saudi financed hundreds if not thousands of Jihadis to fight for the Muslim side and when the UN finally woke up an intervened the Jihadis fled to Afghanistan and formed Al Qaeda culminating in 9/11

Whilst I don’t believe there is much threat to supplies of food or energy comming from the Balkans a conflict there would only make matters worse for Western Europe already reeling for spectacularly poor decision making made by Socialist politicians leaving the whole continent vulnerable as they have chased the illusion of ‘clean’ energy by use of natural gas alone.

Bit of a joke the BBC talking about ‘freedom of expression ‘ – as this site regularly show is a lie …

        Consistent MPs …13 August, 2022

Let’s not forget that Rushdie’s Japanese translator was murdered. The offices of a New York newspaper which defended him were firebombed. A Turkish hotel in which one of his sympathisers was participating in a literary conference was burned down, killing 37 people. That sort of anger doesn’t just evaporate.

        https://thecritic.co.uk/stand-with-salman-rushdie/

That means scorning people who appease murderousness, like Keith Vaz, the long-serving Labour MP, who apparently told Rushdie that he would support him before joining a protest against his book, or Sean O’Grady, an idiotic Independent columnist, who said in 2019 that Rushdie’s “silly, childish book” should have been banned. People who take more offence at controversial books than at a widespread violent response have discluded themselves from civilised discourse.

Appearing at an RMT picket line yesterday keen-eyed politics watchers spotted Corbyn had turned up in a worse-for-wear state, sporting a black eye and busted lip. Corbyn, for whom this is the second eye injury Guido’s reported on, explained to reporters the injury occurred when out for a jog in Finsbury Park when he tripped over a tree root, “and I collided with the ground”. No doubt Comrade Corbyn will now be calling for a root and branch review of North London pathways…

That is the view of the Beverley and Holderness MP Graham Stuart
The company Equinor will have a hydrogen production facility that will help decarbonise other industries
Stuart says that expertise will be valuable worldwide
clip “what I hope we will be able to do ..
not only do we in the UK lean in tackling climate issues and emissions wood, but we also build an industrial capability in in in the UK from which we can export that expertise all the way around the world”

… Next NHS bosses say that people will get ill from not being able to afford heat and electricity

at 9am they’d polished the script
“The next phase for a green energy company east of Hull will bring more *highly skilled well-paid jobs* to the area
      (* clear PR phrases)
That’s what Beverley and Holderness MP Graham Stuart’s saying
Equinor at Saltend will have a hydrogen production facility, that will help to decarbonise other industries
Graham Stuart says that the site will be good for the environment and future prospects in the area.
clip of GS “In the longer term, not only retain the existing jobs and industries
(false The South Ferriby cement works has already closed and they built a terminal at Hull to import cement from Spain instead)
but if we can deliver and create the world’s first true net zero industrial cluster, then you’ll see a lot of other businesses wanting to come into the area as well”

So as Gamesa executives see it, they made the right bet by coming to China. And they insist that they have no regrets about having trained more than 500 Chinese machinery companies as a cost of playing by Beijing’s rules — even if those rules have sometimes flouted international trade law. It is simply the table stakes of playing in the biggest game going.

Ahmadis suffer vicious persecution around the world. The main source of fuel for that persecution is in Pakistan, but what happens in Pakistan does not stay in Pakistan.

I know that from my experience in the Yorkshire market town of Batley. In August 1985, when I was 11 years old, my parents organised an inter-faith meeting in the town hall. It was interrupted and disturbed when, according to West Yorkshire police, more than 1,000 extremists, led by Pakistani hate preachers funded by the Pakistani state, were bused in from around the country. The mob brutally attacked my English mother and my father, a dermatologist; my eldest brother and I; and a Welsh Ahmadi schoolteacher who was with us. My first cousin, a GP, was by chance driving through the market town that day. He saw the mob and saw his family and friends being attacked, so he stopped. He was recognised, pulled from his vehicle and savagely beaten up.

      What is the Nudge Unit?
The Nudge Unit was established in the Cabinet Office in 2010 by David Cameron’s government to apply behavioural science to public policy. Now owned partly by the Cabinet Office, by Nesta and by employees, it has operations across the world.

Its chief executive is Dr David Halpern, former director of research at the Institute for Government, who is also the government’s What Works national adviser.

      Why ‘nudge’?
It is called ‘nudge’ after the book by Richard Thaler (who went on to win the Nobel prize in economics) and Cass Sunstein which set out how people are not the rational economic actors beloved of conventional economic theory – but can be influenced by “choice architecture” into making better choices in their own interests.

      What are nudges?
Nudges mean thinking harder about the way people approach decisions and using those insights to design policy. In 2010, the Institute for Government set out some of those approaches in its MINDSPACE report, which suggests that both the messenger and the message were important and that defaults mattered. It remains the Institute’s most downloaded report.

The approach depends a lot on experimentation, and the Nudge Unit has championed wider use of experiments in government.

    “Beware. The BBC love her.
And many years ago Londoners couldn’t wait to show just how virtuous they were by electing her co-religionist in London, without the slightest interest in his character and his competency…and they repeated the mistake last year.
This country is too precious to be brought low by virtue signaling yet again.”

Certainly gunning for glam. Tatler beckons? all she needs is a dog.

Moving on, wonder how Fick Ange feels about all this having propped up Doc ‘Too busy to do three jobs well so I’ll stick with the tv studio’ Rosena?

Still awaiting any challenge from The BBC to either on claims made about council taxes, especially in Wandsworth.

This new form of journalism seems well dodgy.

What is it about that name that seems to attract so many welcomed into Labour and The BBC?
