Thoughtful – thank you – watched it at 1.5 x …. He sniffs a lot and touches his nose a lot .

I’m actually surprised by his attitude – Britain has always been based on feudalism – land ownership ( and thus home ownership ) .

I’m also surprised that there was no reference to the rapid increase in population – which is going to affect house prices and thus push the deposit requirement up …. And surely this is going to continue unless either huge numbers of homes are created or the population falls by say – 20% ….

Since he is a member of the propertied class – with the wealth he generated from pressing buttons I can’t see why he favours increased taxes on the wealthy as a remedy to ensuring that people on lower incomes can partake in capitalism ( ie by a home )

He does make a good point about highlighting all those pundits who get it wrong – as well as those who get it right . I listen to the likes of Martin Lewis as a prompt – his website has always been pretty good . He saved me a lot of money doing things like fixing energy tariffs .

I’m not sure what his views about interest rates / inflation are … I’m a pessimist so I think rates will continue up as inflation is out of control – if commodity prices stay where they are because of Russia …..

I’ve been trying to do my own research on house prices – there are about 20 million mortgages . 75% are fixed . About 2 million fixed mortgages end each year – but banks are being creative in extending mortgages and offering interest only types .
However – as was pointed out – mortgages are much bigger now – so interest rate rises really cause trouble . Will there be much defaulting in the next couple of years ?

I don’t know the answer – I don’t know if the numbers I quote above are correct ….

Also – he talks about being in contact with ordinary people in the way that rich traders are not …. I’m not sure on this …. There are anecdotes about people still spending money …. not cutting back …. is this the last hurrah ending after Christmas before belts tighten ? Or something else. ?

When I started trading there were tips such as the carrier bag test – simply look at people coming out of shop having bought stuff – marks and Spencer’s was the big case study – people bought food but didn’t buy the clothing – and this persists to this day i understand …

Anyway thanks for the video – got to admire him – even if he is a commie

I don’t think he is a Commie, he believes in Capitalism and a meritocracy, a social contract with the state where if you work hard you are able to buy a home and live a decent life – something he says is going to impossible for the next generation.

His idea of a wealth tax was on the unbelievably wealthy the people who own wealth generating assets who are hoovering up all the tiny amount of assets of the ordinary people.

I just added up what he was saying and came to that conclusion . A couple of weeks ago here I repeated a rumour about CGT being introduced on prime residence transfers .

I was jumped on by one poster as a ‘scare monger ‘. It is a logical tax if some one wants to redistribute wealth downward – but is political suicide with regard to home owners watching the paper value of their homes increasing ….

Many years ago I bought a book called ‘who owns Britain ‘ showing which family / company owns which bits of the country – ( some is still secret ) this is why I say Blighty is based on feudalism – perhaps modernised by the state being the landlord – but still feudalism – as with dukes and the king owning bits of central London – if we nationalised it – would it make any difference ….…

I’ve now received firm offers for the second book, a turbulent narrative of trials and tribulations

      working title:

“How I managed to lose my passport, identity card and 10 years of age in a Channel crossing, yet still held on to my I phone and got enrolled in a junior school and started a petition for a mosque in a quiet suburban housing estate”

TASS : “Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation:
The statements of the Polish media and officials about the fall of “Russian” missiles in the Przewoduv region is a deliberate provocation.

No strikes were made against targets near the Ukrainian-Polish state border by Russian weapons.
The fragments published in hot pursuit by the Polish media from the scene in the village of Przewoduv have nothing to do with Russian weapons”

Interesting the Russians write the village name as “Przewoduv” not the Polish way Przewodów or English way Przevodov.

And that the other attacks knocked out power to the country of Moldova.. and therefore thet is an attack on Moldova.

No, sorry, I forgot, they are Albanians now, I recommend the £7 service, includes escort service and skunk weed whilst they polish your tyres.

I forgot I had a car last time I went there, but they sold it back to me at a very reasonable price and very low mileage.

A red tractor… just the kind of thing a heat seeking Ukrainian anti aircraft missile might take a dislike to, on a cold night, with nothing else to chase after?

          Ukrainian air defense missile:

no cruise missile, no Russian rocket, no Iranian kamikaze drone. Nothing.

    Gentlemen and Ladies,

A couple of days ago (actually 14th Nov) I wrote that a poll had shown that 16% of voters would vote for a Farage led party. I said that this had come from a contributor on this site. I also googled just now and came across from the Telegraph of 14th Nov

“Nigel Farage-led party could attract more than a quarter of voters, poll reveals….”.
My apologies for not responding sooner due to travel commitments.

Some have said that 16% or even 25% might not get sufficient seats with a FPTPost system. My view is that we need to start somewhere. Next election, if the Tory vote collapses (quite likely) then what box will true Tory’s have next time, to put their cross. If more of us ‘normal working class’ types can not stomach to vote for a party that is pro-woke, pro multi-gender, mass migrant, etc then where would our cross go? Whatever happens next time, the winning party (probably coalition) will take a hammering due to the economy. We need to plant the seeds now, expect a mess at the next election, but get a true right-wing party in the game.

The Lib-Lab-Con is UK death by a thousand cuts. Neil Oliver asked a pertinent question last week or last weekend on GB News – I paraphrase ‘will Britain exist in a few years from now’?
