Up2snuff, It was August 1972 when Idi Amin gave the Ugandan Asians their marching orders. Many arrived in Britain over the next few months. I remember a while back a family were criminally prosecuted for far-right offences because they had a son called Adolf. That puzzled me as I don’t recall too many Adolf names being a trouble in the UK in *recent* years. In fact there is an ‘Adolf’ buried in the American cemetery in Madingley with this name and he has a star of David tombstone.
But the ‘M’ name on the other hand has seen quite a bit of trouble in the UK. Should this name be proscribed? Should parents be prosecuted for calling their child with this name?
