Firstly, to be clear, what I know about American Football could be written on the back of a torn postage stamp.
Super Bowl LVII is on later tonight – on ITV that is – but that doesn’t stop the BBC from weighing in with its usual obsession, namely race.

According to the BBC, it’s hugely significant that both quarterbacks tonight are black. Well, I was talking to a close relative in the States earlier and mentioned this and he hadn’t heard it was an issue; the big story is the two Kelce brothers playing for either team.

Since he’s an NFL fan and his daughter was actually at Texas Tech at the same time as one of the quarterbacks – Patrick Mahomes – I’m more inclined to believe my relative.
A case of “I read it on the BBC, so it ain’t necessarily true.”
Might be more sobering to take a look at the ticket prices which are obscene.
There’s a story in that for certain.
