        5 people John Blain, Tim Bresnan, Andrew Gale, Matthew Hoggard and Richard Pyrah – had indicated prior to the hearing that they would not participate, with the charges against them heard in their absence.

        A seventh individual, former Yorkshire player Gary Ballance, has also admitted using racist and/or discriminatory language.
        (dunno why that’s so vague)

        It all dates back to a club report in September 2021 about Yorkshire bowler Azeem Rafiq, that accepted Rafiq had been the victim of racial harassment and bullying
        but that said no individuals would face disciplinary action
        (probably cos Rafiq himself seemed to do similar stuff)

        • Terminal Moraine says:

          Rafiq said: “The issue has never been about individuals but the game as a whole […] Hopefully, the structures of the game can now be rebuilt and institutionalised racism ended for good. It’s time to reflect, learn and implement change.”

          When Rafiq was caught having made anti-semitic statements, an apology was deemed enough and the BBC were doing damage limitation. No one called for the structures of the Pakistani diaspora to be rebuilt, it was simply ‘lessons have been learnt’.

    Thread about BBCnews Green Jobs story

    The root of the thread is this blog post

    What’s wrong of the word “race” in the phrase “net-zero race”?
    This word is dishonest because a race is meant to indicate a competition in which some prize or benefit is won by whoever is fastest – and in which said prize or benefit goes in lesser degree or not at all to the other competitors.
    In this case “the race to net-zero” is a race to lose benefits, a race in which the prize is being hobbled.
    That is still true even if one accepts the necessity of being hobbled.
    The choice of the US to hobble itself first by passing Biden’s “Inflation Reduction Act” (another example of dishonest language) hands a competitive advantage to the UK, so long as we do not do likewise.

    Dane-Geld
    A.D. 980-1016
    It is always a temptation to an armed and agile nation
    To call upon a neighbour and to say: —
    “We invaded you last night–we are quite prepared to fight,
    Unless you pay us cash to go away.”

    And that is called asking for Dane-geld,
    And the people who ask it explain
    That you’ve only to pay ’em the Dane-geld
    And then you’ll get rid of the Dane!

    It is always a temptation for a rich and lazy nation,
    To puff and look important and to say: —
    “Though we know we should defeat you, we have not the time to meet you.
    We will therefore pay you cash to go away.”

    And that is called paying the Dane-geld;
    But we’ve proved it again and again,
    That if once you have paid him the Dane-geld
    You never get rid of the Dane.

    It is wrong to put temptation in the path of any nation,
    For fear they should succumb and go astray;
    So when you are requested to pay up or be molested,
    You will find it better policy to say: —

    “We never pay any-one Dane-geld,
    No matter how trifling the cost;
    For the end of that game is oppression and shame,
    And the nation that pays it is lost!”

    It looks very much like the US is under the control of a strange mix of mafia, IRA, Soros and Marxist cuckoos in the Dem machine.

    The question is, will the population let this go by and suck it up or will it lead to what I can envisage as inevitable civil war?

    There is not little doubt that the Dems are fixing everything they can, legally or otherwise to retain a grip on controlling the Country. And will undoubtedly make sure then next election is fixed. It’s straight out if the mafia playbook.

    Well the first BRICS non petro Dollar transaction has taken place and it was a transaction for LNG between France and a Chinese company using Qatari or Saudi Gas.

    It’s probably the hottest news and yet the media is ignoring it in favour of trivia.
    People on other forums are all over it though with some reporting their banks are limiting withdrawals and that they cannot buy treasuries.

    Biden is talking about ‘punishing’ Saudi’ and also invading Mexico, ostensibly to sort out the migration cartels, but that’s been ignored by the mafia Democrats for years, more likely it’s a message that they better not go ahead and join BRICS as they intend.

    The consequence of the world moving to Yuan or another reserve currency won’t be overnight, but the US will find it impossible to control inflation and unfortunately we being so closely tied to them will also suffer. Inflation is high now, but it’s not going to get any better, and we might end up like the Weimar republic with all the hyper inflation they suffered.

    We have muppets in power, more interested with the number of rainbow unicorns dancing on the head of a pin, and while they have clowned around the grown ups in China and Russia have been quiety plotting our overthrow. The muppets will not know what to do and I fear they will reach out to the military as the only solution they think they have.

    Piers Morgan interview with Stormy Daniels postponed
    Piers Morgan had been due to interview former porn star Stormy Daniels tonight on his TalkTV show, but he has just tweeted that it’s been postponed “due to some security issues that have arisen”.

    In case you need a reminder, Daniels is key to this case – she claims she had an adulterous affair with Donald Trump, and it is said she was paid $130,000 to keep quiet. The payment was legal, but Trump allegedly recorded it as a business expense. Falsifying business records is illegal in New York.

    Morgan didn’t give any further details, just adding: “Hope she’s OK”.
