All winter and spring the BBC with the help of the Met Office on R4 the BBC have been telling us how ‘unseasonably warm’ it is. The weather forecasts at times have been laughable. I think I have posted several times how, in the supposed warmest corner of the UK and close to recent heat waves in Spain and Portugal, the Met Office has forgotten to tell my central heating thermostat just how exactly hot it is in the south-east corner of England and the system has fired up to keep me warm.
No one of sound mind would deny that we have a climate here in the UK. It tends to be more moderate than the extremes of heat and cold enjoyed by the good people living in the continent of Europe. There is a good reason for this, Caroline Lucas MP, a geographical and geophysical one.
