Here we have the BBC ‘verify team’ selectively picking anti-Ukraine tweets to ‘disprove’ and inferring it’s all because of the twitter ‘blue tick’.
They’ve picked a bizarre set to use and haven’t actually disproved any of them. The ones I did check were ridiculed on twitter as soon as they were posted so I’m sure nobody actually believes any of them.
But what did amuse me was:
“French police are fired upon with American rifles that may have come from Ukraine” which they pronounced false because the picture of the rifles was a library picture from 2012.
The BBC use fake pictures all the time as ‘evidence’ for their own stories. I’ve personally seen several about Ukraine including the sites of two recent missile strikes. One was already full of stagnant water and the other has neat piles of soil with a cable running along the bottom of it.
The most pathetic of all is this one:
Posts claiming Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has “cancelled” elections in Ukraine have recently gone viral on Twitter.
That is a BBC rewrite of the claim to make it sound worse. The actual tweet is:
‘Was just informed that Zelensky is threatening to cancel elections in Ukraine and maintain martial law indefinitely in order to defend democracy’. Ukraine will not hold elections under martial law and he is maintaining martial law. Up to now, that statement is absolutely true.
That one deserves to be front-page news at the BBC because it is ‘misleading’. Not false.
Clearly the 60-man ‘verify team’ have been told to come up with some propaganda and due to their extremely low quality of staff, this is the best they could come up with. No doubt they are 50% women, 20% gay and 10% disabled.
Then at the end we get:
‘Contacted by BBC Verify for a response to the false and misleading Twitter Blue posts highlighted in this article, Twitter’s press office acknowledged receipt of our enquiry, but declined to comment.’
How absolutely pathetic. And absolutely typical of what the kidults at the BBC churn out these days. All they wanted to do was discredit twitter.

I always catch the Neil Oliver Show on GB News and yesterday’s was a bit of a cracker…
They had on Andrew Bridgen and as his opponent an elderly GP who reckons the vaccine saved millions of lives and anyone that doubted it was a tinfoil hat wearing conspiracy theorist.
Th old doctor came across as really quite unpleasant and didn’t help his cause when he started slagging off Brexit, for no apparent reason.
On a sad, but possibly related note, one of Fulham’s former football icons is in a bad way. Edwin Van Der Sar joined the west London club in 2001 and stayed for four years before being poached by Man Utd. H was a brilliant keeper.
I’ve seen recent photos of him and he still looked incredibly trim and fit for a 52 year old. He’s now in intensive care with a “brain bleed”. This is, according to some, one of the potentially tragic side effects of the vaccine.
All the BBC web page tells me is that former colleagues and fans are sending him their best wishes. Well, yes of course they are, but shouldn’t we be asking some probing questions?

The bbc can’t even be consistent in their own bias. The big story, of course, is “bbcstarpresenterinunderweargate”. Notice that the presenter, “he”, is seen in “his” underwear. Now I think that pronouns are as much a load of tosh as the next guy, but where’s the “They” or “Ze”? No, it’s a “he” as the male of the species is fair game at all times.
At least there’s nothing important going on in Ukraine regarding cluster bombs. I’m sure the americans still have stocks of napalm and agent orange. I’m not ruling that out. I stopped fearing the Russians long ago.

I am beginning to feel this might be far more serious for the BBC than they seem to think it is.
Anybody who can afford to splash out £35,000 on a few photos must be on a huge salary and must be one of their bigger ‘stars’. And the bigger the name, the greater the reputational damage.
I don’t think the BBC can withstand another scandal. More than a decade after the Savile revelation opened a window on an organization seething with predators, perverts and paedoes, another sordid, high-profile case would tell the public that they have done nothing in the intervening years to put their house in order. The licence payers could only conclude that the BBC is too mired in its own filth to be capable of reforming itself. What little trust it has left will be completely gone.

There’s a curious omission in the reporting of this story by the entire UK media, almost as though they are following the party line or official guidelines. We are told that the accused is a male ‘star’, but the victim is referred to as a ‘child’ or ‘young person’. Note that the victim is not described as a ‘girl’, ‘young woman’, ‘boy’ or ‘young man’. Why the coyness? If the gender of the accused can be stated, why not that of the victim? Why the inconsistency?
Some of the foreign media is not so coy and states the gender of the victim. And shame on all you homophobes who take ‘pride’ in having worked it out already.

No doubt the awash with cash BBC has an individual correspondent in the Baltic States or Katya Adler could have travelled there from Western Europe by less polluting train. I wouldn’t be surprised if James Naughtie flew Business Class as befits his ‘station’ at the BBC. Meanwhile, the BBC promotes the Climate Change thing endlessly and even gives a platform to Beijing Biden a.k.a. ‘China Joe’ to do the same.
