Midweek 26 July 2023

Integrity is meant to be big in the State Funded BBC . But in 2 weeks it has seen a leading Newsreader confined to a mental hospital after paying for sexual pictures of a ‘young person ‘ Now its ’ ‘business editor ‘ has been found to have received private bank details of a politician and misreported the circumstances of his cancellation by partly State owned bank .
The BBC path to self destruction is getting shorter …

probably counts area where hot smoke was observed as “burnt”
so in Palermo burnt area map it counts sea and housing estates

A very ‘green’ disaster is currently unfolding in the North Sea with a car transporter carrying 3000 vehicles from Germany to Egypt on fire and crewmen dead and injured.

The cause of the fire? An EV on board whose batteries exploded and caused a fire which could not be extinguished. The comments certainly are only too well aware of the problems with these fuel cells, and here’s a question, if it’s so dangerous that you cannot post one without special safety precautions then how the hell are they supposed to be safe when there’s a whole load of them together in a vehicle which might well be involved in a serious collision?

lol – I didn’t think the BBC would report it but they did.

But get this : They completely avoid telling us it was started by an electric car.

Another whopping agenda-based lie-by-omission from the BBC.

They may not catch fire very often – but when they do, you can’t put them out. When everybody has them it will be happening very regularly. But the BBC will not go near that because it’s not in line with the agenda.

@JohnC no you are wrong there .. you gave an OLD BBC story dated
          18 February 2022

There was a follow up “A cargo ship that was carrying thousands of luxury cars has sunk off the Portuguese Azores archipelago, nearly two weeks after it caught fire.”

Breaking ..as I type the BBC have put up a story about this ship
          The Freemantle Highway
          https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-66310280
It mentions EVs as a cause 3 times

“A Dutch coastguard spokesman said the fire was probably caused by one of 25 electric vehicles on board the ship.”
(99% of the cars on the ship are not electric)

That line was used in a tweet 4 hours earlier
So seems to me the BBC Hollingham woman is cutNpasting from the Dutch newspaper

new “Extinguishing on the Fremantle Highway is hardly possible and experts therefore speak of a ‘very complicated’ operation.”

Rebecca Solnit of the Guardian writes a long piece about people giving up on climate action because it’s a lost cause..

    https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2023/jul/26/we-cant-afford-to-be-climate-doomers

OK that’s point of view but reading down the article uncovers this enlightening line….

“The people putting out defeatist frameworks have more impact than outright deniers, not least because deniers are rightwingers and the right is already committed to climate inaction.”

They are not “right-wingers” they are people who have considered the arguments and just don’t believe the bullshit and it has nothing to do with a political stance.

So this sums up the Guardian and its smug stance. Anyone not toeing the climate line is a “right-winger” and thus a naturally horrible being, what a stupid and blinkered view and it sums up the childish vindictiveness of this class of people in one sentence.

  9. Thoughtful says:

An excuse for the Left wing bias often trotted out by the BBC is the false trope that the complaints of bias are fairly equally divided between right and left, and disregarding the reality that Owen Jones of the Guardian ran a campaign for people on the left to complain in order to falsify the reality of these numbers.

Perhaps a better metric to use would be the number of times the corporation has been forced to apologise to people or organisations based on political bias.
It’s not often the BBC apologise because they believe themselves to be perfect, however as we now see they can be forced into it, and although this would only work once it’s a better metric than number of complaints which is meaningless.

EV’s catching fire. So difficult to put the fire out.

Am I correct in thinking that many (maybe all) high rise blocks of flats have underground parking?
If an EV started a fire in a crowded underground parking lot during the night (when charging or whatever happened to the one in the boat or the bus which caught fire near where I live or all the other EV fires) there’s the potential of another Grenfell type of fire.
Even if you just have a garage as part of your home the EV could set fire to your house.
I wouldn’t feel safe sleeping in the same building as an EV and I think household insurance will rise if one of your ‘risk factors’ is sharing the house with an EV in the integrated garage.

At the risk of infuriating all you petrolheads out there, let’s just get it out there – electric cars are the future.

They are clean, quiet, fun to drive and help us tackle the biggest challenge of our era, climate change.

But there are some big bumps along the road to the UK’s electric destiny.

Electric vehicles (EVs) are expensive, there aren’t enough chargers, and the switchover could destroy one of the UK’s biggest industries.

The abandoned cars may have undergone a similar fate. So take the YouTuber’s allegations with a pinch of salt. They reportedly belong to a failed car-sharing service called Microcity, which had thousands of Kandi 11 models, as documented by the Chinese state-owned newspaper People’s Daily.

Multiple car-rental businesses failed during the same period in China, which could explain the existence of these car cemeteries.

Also, note that some of the drone footage is over two years old, while some local reports of cars lying abandoned are from 2019. It’s unclear what the current state of the EV graveyard is, and if any action was ever taken to bring these vehicles back to life.

The Infected Blood Inquiry statistics report, published in September 2022, set out to establish the true numbers of those infected and includes David Spiegelhalter among its authors. The report found that around 1,250 people with bleeding disorders were infected with HIV in the UK and that at least a further 2,400 people were infected with Hepatitis C.[2] The report concluded that around three-quarters of those infected with HIV have died and that at least 700 people infected with Hepatitis C had died.

Desperate to hide his profiteering from the deadly mRNA jabs, Rishi Sunak is ploughing ahead with plans to scan all of our messages through powers in the Online Safety Bill. This will be one of the most authoritarian internet laws in the Western world and will be a disaster for free speech and privacy. These Orwellian plans include using new technologies that will be installed in our phones to snoop on our messages across entire messaging platforms. The Online Safety Bill, Rishi Sunak’s censor’s charter, will be used by his Counter Disinformation Unit [CDU] to monitor the speech of journalists, politicians, and members of the public online to keep tabs on dissent, and censor the fact that the current British Prime Minister is personally profiting from the Moderna vaccines, earning billions as a founding partner of London-based hedge fund Theleme Partners, a major investor in Moderna. The company is registered in the Cayman Islands, a tax haven which does not require companies to make their accounts public. Sunak placed assets into a trust. I switched on the BBC1 news to hear how they treated the resignation of Dame Alison. I saw Lucy Manning reporting on Kevin Spacey. The disappointment in him being found not guilty was palpable.

Apparently, according to the 6pm news, Nigel Farrage CLAIMED his bank account had been closed. Interesting use of ‘claimed’, I thought it was a fact that his account had been closed. The item finished by saying only 1400 accounts were closed each year. I do know someone whose accounts were closed. Perhaps it is chance but I wonder where the BBC got the figure of 1400.

Of course Nigel then was unable to open an account at 10 other banks. I don’t suppose that is included in the 1400.

I haven’t even got to Yemen or forest fires and climate change, cannot face it.

I think the current argument is about how much other people should get
      eg children
Well if you were 17 when your dad died, should you really get £100K ?
and parents of children who died.
If you had a weak child and they got a blood transfusion and died of aids at aged 2 , should you get £100K ?

It’s a shame when anyone passes away so young – but she was absolutely batsh1t crazy. A very good example of the kind of ‘talent’ arty types such as the BBC idolize – and apply their usual double-standards to forgive all the bad things they do.

As is so often the case for these people, I won’t be surprised one bit if it’s another suicide/drug overdose. Showbusiness has far more than it’s fair share of alcoholics/drug addicts/suicides which tells us a lot about the kind of people it attracts. And these days, those who would love to do it but don’t have any talent work for the BBC.

    TV as it should be….

For a wonderfully refreshing change from the constant skewed agenda rammed down my throat I love to watch “The canal boat diaries” on the Yesterday channel.

It follows a young chap navigating his canal boat alone along the waterways of England and giving a lovely informative commentary as he goes.

    There is no enforced diversity

    There is no political skewing

There is no thought police agenda

    There is no climate bollox

    There is no “message”

Just a very very watchable and entertaining program beautifully delivered as they should be.

This can now be proved without any doubt.

While most of Europe and North Africa is a pile of glowing ash and doctors can now walk from Libya to Italy, we in the UK are enjoying cool to cold temperatures and constant rain.

All our efforts are paying off.
Maybe Greece should copy what we are doing so that the temperatures can drop by 20 degrees. If they start now they should be ok by next week.
