We enter the doldrums of the year . The sons and daughters of BBC executives are doing their job experience as interns before continuing the dynasty on the taxpayers ‘ cash .Viewing and listening figures continue to plunge as the BBC happily destroys itself .

The BBC is beyond any saving.

However, the state of government is on par, if only exceeded in direness by the one the BBC seeks to install.

On what planet does SuSu think that even one will be apprehended? And if a few are, there will not be a queue of Coopers, Abbotts, Corbyns, Care4Cuties and half the hijabbed legal profession there in their Mercs ready to spring them with every TV broadcast run tow to make sure it happens.

      All on the public dime.

Of course, the BIG STORY on the BBc Moaning Emole is from the Virgin #prasnews dept.

    The countdown is on

What are your plans today? Taking a trip into space? That’s where an Aberdeen student and her mother hope to go, alongside a former British Olympian. Anastatia Mayers and her mother Keisha Schahaff won the tickets to board the Virgin Galactic flight in a competition. Jon Goodwin, 80, from Newcastle, will become the second person with Parkinson’s disease to go to space. It is Virgin Galactic’s second commercial flight and the launch window opens at 08:30 local time (15:30BST).

    Read all about it

As I understand it, it is actually a very BBC mostly not quite space trip, for billionaires and amazingly convenient lucky raffle winners of education not called Socks or Sir. Boaty.

A local democracy (sic) reporter has left his role to launch his own news title in competition with his old employers.

Nathan Briant has said farewell to his role with Reach plc covering Northamptonshire under the BBC-funded scheme to set up the Oxfordshire Independent.

Nathan, pictured, lives in Oxfordshire and previously worked as a local government reporter for the Oxford Mail, as well as covering the county in spells with the BBC.

Here all our local media is infested now with them, and they are a public joke.

Reach plc don’t deserve to be in business – I hope Nathan Briant’s example succeeds and precipitates an avalanche.

BBC editorial rules in local radio dictate that they can’t “publish” a story about a local council if that council goes “no comment” or refuses to engage – it’s happened to me twice in 10 years.

2018 … Thousands of doctors are missing from hospitals and GPs’ surgeries during the ‘Winter Crisis’ because they are on jollies to medical conferences at 5 star ski resorts. A Guido probe found doctors are encouraged to book luxury foreign trips deliberately scheduled during the most pressured time of year for the health service. The conferences fulfil mandatory NHS ‘continuing professional development’ (‘CPD’) requirements in the form of lectures and training measured by the hour. But free time is spent skiing and enjoying the apres ski scene in some of the world’s most desirable destinations. Many doctors are allowed to charge their NHS trust for part costs of the trips, effectively subsidising their skiing holidays…

    Scientific American goes full Unit.

    Never go full Unit.

    Conspiracy Machine
A 2022 Pew Research report found that about half of Americans get news from social media at least some of the time. And that number was much higher among young adults. New studies demonstrate how social media can amplify conspiracy theories by intricately tying into people’s affirmation and protection of their identity. This is partly why it’s so difficult for some people to give up beliefs or change their mind, even when presented with new information–it feels like surrendering their very identity.

Why this matters: Conspiracy theories can pose serious threats to individual and collective safety, social cohesion and even democratic stability.

What the experts say: Social media helps people to reinforce their misconstrued ideas, by supplying persistent access to content that feeds their beliefs. “Such individuals can imagine themselves to be ‘real life investigators,’ yet scour the Internet searching only for information that confirms their pre-existing beliefs,” writes Christine Abdalla Mikhaeil, an assistant professor in information systems at IÉSEG School of Management.

“…searching only for information that confirms their pre-existing beliefs”

I’m starting to get a bit worried about Ukraine recently. This is the big headline at the BBC:

Russian convicts released to fight with Wagner accused of new crimes
    https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-66364272

Possibly the least shocking revalation this century.

Meanwhile it seems CNN have run this story:
Western allies receive increasingly ‘sobering’ updates on Ukraine’s counteroffensive: ‘This is the most difficult time of the war’
    https://edition.cnn.com/2023/08/08/politics/ukraine-counteroffensive-us-briefings/index.html

    With the paragraph:
‘The primary challenge for Ukrainian forces is the continued difficulty of breaking through Russia’s multi-layered defensive lines in the eastern and southern parts of the country, which are marked by tens of thousands of mines and vast networks of trenches. Ukrainian forces have incurred staggering losses there, leading Ukrainian commanders to hold back some units to regroup and reduce casualties.’

None of which have been reported by the BBC.

So the question arises : What happens next ?.

Ukraine are being decimated as is the billions of dollars of equipment we have given them. It’s clear Russia are not going to give up.

If it continues like this, Ukraine is going to be sufficiently weakened that Russia are going to start taking more territory. And eventually a breaking point will be reached where Ukraine more or less collapse.

So will the USA escalate it even further ?. They’ve already given Ukraine all the advanced weapons they held back at the start.
The only way I can see that happening is to drag neighbouring countries into the fight – maybe under a false-flag incident.

Or will there be a miraculous about-turn and suddenly peace negotiations will start (and of course Zelensky replaced). This will certainly involve Russia being given everything they have now except maybe for a token gesture of giving some small area back.

But the big question is why I have to research this on the internet to work this out because our own state news provider is completely misleading us all.

And of course this all leaves the concept of ‘journalistic ethics’ for the modern age in complete tatters.

        Is witchcraft alive in Africa? {bbc.co.uk jul2005}
Does witchcraft have a place in modern society? BBC Africa Live wants to know if it is relevant to you.
In Africa, witchcraft has played a role in rebellions, fighting wars, gaining independence and is often seen at election time.

Some people also consult witchdoctors to cure diseases or find a husband.

However, the practise has negative sides – mutilated bodies are often found in Africa, with their organs removed presumably for use in magic charms. And recently in the UK, three people were jailed over the torture of an eight-year-old Angolan girl they accused of being a possessed witch.

        Comment by Kingsley Obika, Nigeria
Two days ago in my neighbourhood. A girl of five was accused of killing her mother through witchcraft. She was tortured (tied upside down a tree) for hours to confess. What surprised me is the fact this girl had not heard of the word witchcraft and here she was being asked to make a so-called confession. In my opinion, those behind this child abuse should be brought to face the wrath of the law.

Comment by Guy, Johannesburg, South Africa
Is witchcraft alive in Africa begs for the answer: Is the Pope a Catholic? We are mourning the death of our four-year-old’s beloved pre-school teacher who suddenly died, apparently after taking some ‘muti’ (medication) dispensed to her by some ‘visitors’ from her rural home.

Comment by Ahmed Kateregga Musaazi, Uganda
l don’t believe in witchcraft but I know that it exists. My religion, Islam, like Christianity, regards witchcraft as satanic. Witchcraft has partly survived in Africa due to the failure of Islam and Christianity to liberate their followers from poverty, ignorance and disease.
The solution is for the two beliefs to recognise African customs which are not in contradiction with Islam and Christianity and to strengthen the penal code to deal harshly with witchcraft.

        Comment by Danni, South Africa
Each person is entitled to their own religion, belief or culture, but when that same thinking such as witchcraft in South Africa, encourages people to rape three-month-old babies to ‘cure’ them of HIV, people should rethink their views.

On 2 December 2015, at the Theresienbad swimming pool in the Austrian capital Vienna, a 10-year-old boy was raped. The perpetrator, an Iraqi refugee who had arrived in the country two months earlier, claimed that he was motivated by not having sex for four months.

The crime became public knowledge in February 2016, and in June the man was sentenced to a minimum six years in jail. In October, the Supreme Court of Austria overturned his rape conviction and ordered a retrial. At the retrial his sentence was increased to 7 years. In May 2017, the man’s sentence was reduced to four years

The Department for International Development (DFID) leads the UK’s global efforts to end extreme
poverty, deliver the Global Goals for Sustainable Development (SDGs) and tackle a wide range of global
development challenges. The UK’s focus and international leadership on economic development is a
vital part of Global Britain – harnessing the potential of new trade relationships, creating jobs and
channelling investment to the world’s poorest countries. Throughout history, sustained, job-creating
growth has played the greatest role in lifting huge numbers of people out of grinding poverty. This is
what developing countries want and is what the international system needs to help deliver. Whilst there
is an urgent need for traditional aid in many parts of the world, ultimately economic development is how
we will achieve the Global Goals and help countries move beyond the need for aid.

BBC WEB-SITE Watch #2 – surely Marianna will Verify the accuracy of satellite measurent of ground temperatures

Back when I was a schoolboy in A-level Technical Drawing, I was taught always to ask someone who claimed to have measured something intangible (ie. temperature) what the ± error reading of the device being used for measurement. Even earlier, at Primary School we had a Photography Club and developed our own black & white films. Time and temperature are important in both cooking and photography and I encountered a certified mercury thermometer for the first time. Around that time, I was also ‘weather monitor’ for a period (we took the job in turns) because we had a weather station with a proper Stephenson Screen to record Min/Max temperatures and rainfall in the school garden.

The BBC are trying to ‘take a pop’ at Neil Oliver and GBNews for presenting, in the view of the BBC, disinformation on the so-called ‘current heatwaves’. See https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/science-environment-66314338

What the BBC, in their Climate Cult enthusiasm, seem to forget that when you measure something from space, even low altitude orbit the data reaches the ground in binary form. 0s and 1s have to be interpreted, and they are often ‘adjusted’ by humans. Humans make mistakes or have their inherent biases. I sense an inherent BBC Bias kicking in here. The NOAA in the US, I seem to recall, recently ‘adjusted’ their data that previously showed 1.5°C of Global Warming (taken up enthusiastically by various bodies around the world such as the UN’s IPCC) down to a more honest ‘almost nothing at all’. One US University, no doubt anxious to keep their funding streams open, described it as ‘an anomaly’.

I wonder if Marianna will spring into action to verify the data from the satellites and let us know the ± error temperature reading from the satellite. Or should Marianna and the whole Verify team be disbanded and made redundant saving lots of money and just leave the job to BBC R4’s More or Less ?

Up2 – surely you are omitting the satellites from the 18th century and before which recorded the global climate allowing scientists to prove the evil climate change of today ?

More seriously – the priest of the climate religion claim records of the weather began around 1850 – the first weather satellite went up ..when ? 1970s? A spit in earth time … and from limited data – maybe – 30 years ? They can demand all the changes sacrifices and taxes destroying us today – as well as a mental eff up scandi teenager – unbelievable …

Fed, I think gardeners records go back a bit before 1850. In addition, when was the first thermometer created? Don’t bother looking it up – I have, and some historians think it was Hero of Alexandria 10-70AD who did the deed.

Satellites from the 1850s? I think Newton was hit on the head by one on re-entry long before that!

I’m sure the Victorian gardeners keeping records of their hot and cold years are an excellent foundation for the current religion of certainty which inhabits the green crap religion .

My point about satellite data is its recency ….

Elswhere – the chief constable of the Northern Ireland plod has said he is showing leadership by not falling on his sword . Apparently he has an assistant chief constable in charge of ‘data ‘ .. perhaps they are better at diversity stuff than looking after the welfare( security ) life expectancy of their staff ….

Will he wait until the first cop is attacked / targeted / killing because of his organisational failure – or maybe wing it .

Is he guilty of a criminal offence re data protection … ? Just asking ….
… I don’t suppose there’s anyone working in the UK government at the moment willing to kick his arse out of the door …

The carpenter replied,”twenty-seven feet, six and one half inches.”

“What? how come you are so sure of that distance?” sneered the lawyer.

“Well, I knew that sooner or later some idiot would ask me, so I measured it!” replied the carpenter!

Of course I know why : it’s 100% agenda again. A search for ‘climate change’ shows why.

Whenever I see these stories, I always remember the ‘Qatargate’ EU scandal (which is STILL going on but is being completely ignored by the BBC) just got a quick side-pane and disappeared when in fact it was a HUGE story of corruption going right to the top which a banana republic could be proud of.

The reason for that one of course is that they won’t tell us bad news about the EU as it might put people off rejoining.

‘Family album’ for the UK unveiled by National Portrait Gallery
    Published

“This image is of a Temitayo and Rotimi Odukoya, who had a baby boy during the pandemic. They said working from home afterwards meant they could spend much more time together. Ife Ayelabola’s photograph is one of four selected by the judges’ panel, to be displayed at the gallery with its backstory. A further 100 are being exhibited digitally.”

“Windrush immigrant Nola Mclean came to Britain in 1958 aged 19 to train as a nurse. Later in life she worked at a refuge for abused young women. This image by Ian George McLean was selected for display by the judges’ panel.”

“A mixed-race family celebrate the Eid Muslim celebration in Buckinghamshire, with everyone wearing something new which they selected to reflect their personalities. The image was taken by Peter Sanders.”

“Two young brothers are pictured in a bedroom in Derby, where they were temporarily housed as asylum seekers. Lawand, who is deaf, (L) and his brother Rawa (R) fled the Iraqi war with nothing but the clothes on their backs. This image, submitted by deaf photographer Stephen Iliffe, was selected for display by the judges.”

“”Family is the most precious thing you can possess, it doesn’t have to be blood-related. Here are some of the people who create what we see as family,” says the submission for this image. It is of the unnamed photographer’s late partner Leon, who died of bowel cancer in 2017, with their daughter Maiya.”

Your report is spot on. It is a Far Left, ultra-woke pile of dog muck. For instance, Thatcher is given as part of a Tory conference front platform, while Arthur Scargill gets a full-on facial portrait all to himself. Not to mention the ‘gender neutral’ loos which leave almost every toilet-seeker somewhere between non-plussed and fuming.
Many wonderful paintings are still there but they are best seen through gritted teeth.

MM, many years ago, the Photographer’s Gallery (when it was based in Great Newport Street) had an exhibition by a Jewish photographer, I think – sorry name forgotten, who had a studio in South London, in Brixton if I recall correctly. He photographed many of the early immigrants to Britain from Windrush onwards. The pictures were wonderful and very revealing.

The tone of these hundreds of local citizens is an informed and frustrated response to our failed asylum policies, and if these angry statements were replicated across the uk, (despite the Islingtonoids and the BBC), the result would be even more catastrophic for the disgraceful left-wingers than the EU referendum!

Even one of the Councillors notices that the application was designed to hide the real issues here, so well done that Lady!
