Extreme weather: More than 4,500 deaths in England from 2022 heat
    https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-66890135

It’s finally true. The BBC are at the very bottom of the barrel and cannot go any lower in their desperation to create panic over climate change.

Now they are inferring we are literally going to die because it’s a bit warmer.

Again, tucked away in the middle is the only really truthful part of the whole farce:

‘That was the highest number of estimated heat-related deaths over the last 35 years – but does not take into account population growth, and is a similar number to levels in the 1990s and early 2000s when the population was smaller.’

So it is better now than it was 30 years ago.

This is who the BBC has writing these articles:

    1517047547866?e=1698278400&v=beta&t=5jqs_CD7iAB2BQFx2Zlh2-TbFRk9U-i4Io_0XQNV1yw

    and

Lucky for us nothing these idiot kidults do makes any difference whatsoever in the real world.

JohnC, was just going to post this on the same subject:…

BBC headline news earlier this afternoon:
Extreme weather: More than 50,000 deaths linked to heat since 1988
      https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-66890135
Looking at the ONS report, the BBC could have headlined it More than 200,000 deaths linked to cold since 1988, but that wouldn’t fit The Message.
Perhaps sensing that people might spot that, the BBC have now changed the headline to: Extreme weather: More than 4,500 deaths in England from 2022 heat. This is possibly a smart move on the biased BBC’s part. The cold-related death figures for 2022 are – unusually – much lower than the heat-related ones, with 4,507 heat-related ones and just 1,214 cold-related ones – as opposed to 2021 when there were 8,416 cold-related deaths and just 1,408 heat-related deaths. And part of the reason for such a low figure for cold-related deaths in 2022 is because, as the ONS says:

We included occurrences of deaths that were registered up until the end of 2022. Because of registration delay, some deaths that occurred in 2022 are not included in our analysis. This will affect the later months of 2022 most; therefore, the estimated cold-related deaths may be underestimated.

Are the BBC up to statistical mischief in pursuit of The Message?
I’d have added ‘Is the Pope a Catholic?’ but a lot of Catholics have their doubts about Pope Francis.

BBC One Scotland, 29 August 2023

The programme featured a graphic displaying the worsening position of alcohol-related deaths in Scotland. The figures for each year were all clearly and accurately displayed. We do, however, agree that the graph should not have been shown with uneven steps on its axis, and have reminded the programme team of the importance of clarity when reporting statistics.

Last week, a whale, also believed to be a minke, was found dead on the shore at Robin Hood’s Bay near Whitby, and in May a 55ft (17m) male fin whale died after becoming stranded off Bridlington further down the Yorkshire coast.

BDMLR, said there had been a “slight increase” in strandings this year.

If we marked Moscow on that map, it would be very clear why Russia will not sit by and let Ukraine join NATO.

The BBC is sad….Some poor Hollywood chap has ended up dead after an “accidental” drug overdose.

    https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-66889235

The coroner found an overdose of fentanyl, amphetamins, cocaine and other drugs was to blame.

That’s a bit like saying someone accidentally died after being hit by traffic while walking in the middle of the fast lane on the M1 at midnight.

They don’t like drugs getting bad press do they?

Weird as the BBC come down on other much less noxious stuff like a ton of bricks.

No record ‘hottest eva’ this year though, hey?

In fact, one of the coldest, wettest years I can recall. A couple of nice weeks in June and a warm one in early Sept, but a bitterly cold winter, hard frosts through into May, near constant rain and distinctly chilly temperatures from late June through to the end of August, and we’re not even at the end of Sept. and summers over and we’re back into winter again… any mention? No?….

If you cherry pick the odd ‘hotter than average’ year, and ignore all the bad ones, then of course it’ll look as if the planet is ramping up to ‘boiling point’!
