Pug – don’t worry – interviewing an Obama speechwriter- was ‘balanced ‘…

At the end of ‘today ‘ they journos talked to each other about themselves – someone called piers Morgan is leaving talk tv to go to you tube ….
His rating last night was … 26 000 … probably double ‘newsnight ‘. . What surprised me is that no mention was made that tucker Carlson had also moved ( successfully ) to you tube and is producing quality interviews for above any crap the bbc puts out now …. And his content is free ….

The world is on fire and Mr AsI takes the side of the foxes in this Friday edition

Starmer angers left with Labour’s green reversal – observes the Times – the paper formerly in somewhat of a public bromance with Sir Keir

Angers the left… that sounds about right

Fury as Starmer stages U-turn on £28bn green investment pledge (Guardian)

Labour backlash as green pledge cut in half (‘i’)

The move to ditch the spending promise was criticised by left-wing campaign group Momentum and Unite, Labour’s biggest union backer. (BBC)

Our corporate crony green lobby which stood to profit from the previously proposed Labour cash splurge are not too happy either: Starmer U-turn slashes £28bn yearly green spending promise to £4.7bn (Financial Times)

Key Warning threshold… average global temperature has breached the benchmark of 1.5C… prompting scientists to underline their call for climate action (FT)

Back in 1989, Chris Isaak, American singer, songwriter and guitarist, released from his album Heart Shaped World the track Wicked Game to considerable chart success

The world was on fire and no one could save me but you
It’s strange what desire will make foolish people do

The FT meanwhile today references George R. R. Martin’s epic fantasy series of novels A Song of Fire and Ice, of which Game of Thrones is the opening book, presumably in an effort pictorially to convince readers in a global warming non sequitur about vulcanoes that the world is indeed on fire: Fire and Ice… Lava cuts off Blue Lagoon… in Grindavik, Iceland, yesterday. (FT)

I’m not sure how the big corporates could profit from governmental measures to stop vulcanic activity around the world? Unless perhaps there were some grandiose scheme to put a massive cork into them?

Not to worry, Sir U-Turn (TM Daily Mail), your BBC is busy putting the best possible spin on things: In removing one of its promises, Labour has removed one of its political opponents’ targets writes Political Editor Chris Mason (BBC)

Chris Mason gets the booty call to go to the Labour Kremlin

Having angered the socialists and disappointed the capitalists, personality by-pass, stuffed shirt, Sir Keir has at least found a friend here: Labour has moved fairly recently into a new headquarters about 15 minutes from Parliament. I was invited there to interview Sir Keir Starmer about his decision to bin a long standing promise to spend £28bn a year on the green industries of the future. (Chris Mason (BBC)

The one to one interview, mano a mano, to explore what it is the great man has to say for himself is, of course, not necessarily an exercise in toadying – but basic journalism – or is it?

Tucker Carlson: Putin takes charge as TV host gives free rein to Kremlin (BBC)

It is only by qestioning our political leaders, by-passing the dreaded press releases or scripted speeches – and listening to what they say from the horse’s mouth, so to speak, that we can come close to understanding what it is they are all about…

Biden’s recall too poor for a trial, say prosecuters (Times)

Biden ‘can’t remember when he was vice president’ (Telegraph)

And running defense – as the Americans would put it…

‘My memory is fine’ – Biden hits back at special counsel (BBC)

Mind you, pleading mental incompetance, so as to avoid the full force of the law on a serious change seems to be all the rage lately: Nottingham attacks: Court accepts triple killer’s manslaughter plea… Prosecutors have accepted a plea of manslaughter from the man who stabbed two university students and a caretaker in Nottingham. (Evening Standard)

Oh, to what dire straits we seem to have descended

Brothers in Arms was the fifth studio album by the British rock band Dire Straits, released in 1985

    Speaking of brothers in arms…

Sinn Fein calls Hamas ‘partners in peace’ (Telegraph)

Another twist for Traitors – that’s a Daily Mirror piece puffing Claudia Winkleman’s BBC One tv show Traitors

And finally, a jokey blokey feature from the Daily Star to cheer us up…

I’m at war with frisky foxes – calm down sir!

But calm down dear readers that’s not a match with this report in The Sun: Why it’s ok to dress sexy at 50.. Like Heidi – and that’s not the same Heidi my old mum used to read about when she was a gal – that’s: HEID OF FASHION Heidi Klum, 50, flashes underboob in slashed mini-dress at pre-Grammy awards bash (The Sun)

Back to that other brand of wild foxes in the Star: Furious Radio 4 DJ Paul Gabaccini says randy noisy foxes are making his life a misery… BBC DJ’s rant after they widdle on his favourite quality newspaper… and it’s not even the Daily Star – keen eyed tabloid frontpage peepers will discern that Gambo’s paper of choice is the pink one… the FT – I’m on the side of the foxes here – perhaps they just thought they were helping to extinguish our world on fire in today’s edition?

We took legal advice on the fox problem from a top left-leaning KC – but would not advocate his methods of fox control…

Jolyon Maugham will not be prosecuted for clubbing fox to death… The prominent remain supporter… Lawyer had tweeted about killing animal while wearing wife’s kimono on Boxing Day (Guardian)

The lying, cheating, biased Corporation cover for Biden, yet again
Watch carefully how they splice his press conference to make him sound vaguely compos mentis.
In particular his angry response to a comment about him not even remembering details of his son’s death.
In the BBC clip below, he pulls it off – more or less – as they cut @ 00:20″
In reality, he fluffed that reply seconds after the BBC cut, as shown on the Sky News Aus clip (bottom) just before the 2 minute mark.
He’s talking about carrying the rosary his son got from Our Lady of… oops – he can’t remember. Thereby confirming the very thing he’s accused of.
Even the tame American press are noticing the mental decline, but not good old Biden Broadcasting Corporation which continues the grotesque lie that the old crook is competent.

Tucker Carlson: Putin takes charge as TV host gives free rein to Kremlin
    https://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-68248740

And here we have it : the BBC desperately trying to discredit Carlson and displaying the most extreme hypocrisy and double standards I think I have ever witnessed.

The bit I particularly liked was this:

‘Instead of pushing the Russian leader – indicted as a suspected war criminal – on his full-scale invasion of Ukraine and challenging his false assertions, Carlson swerved off-piste to talk God and the Russian soul.’

A bit like EVERY BBC reporter does for Hamas – who are OFFICIALLY terrorists then BBC.

The BBC freely give Hamas Terrorist leaders a soapbox to spread their propaganda then act like spiteful schoolchildren when Carlson lets Putin give his side of the story.

    Then we get:

‘Kyiv fiercely disputes every word of it.’

I’m sure they do BBC. And where are your own probing interviews with Zelensky then ?. I see MANY reports of the Zelensky regime acting as barbarically as Putins. But the BBC NEVER interview people about them. On the contary, they repeat every claim Ukraine make as if it were fact.

These shameless, ethically barren BBC activists make me sick.

If the US media are turning against Biden – even mildly – it means they got the order from their bosses in the Democrat party. Perhaps the Dems realise that Biden is unelectable now, and will become more so with every passing month. So they’re softening up the public to dump him. Perhaps he has even agreed to step down, but of course can’t say so or he would become a lame duck President in his final months.

The question then is, who will replace him?
The repulsive, cackling, Heels-Up Kamala? The disastrous Newsom? The nightmarish Michelle, who would usher in a FOURTH term of Obama socialism (this being his third)?

BBC and other Main-Sewer media are in full Tucker-Carslon attack mode. DEFCON 5 !!!

    But-
Why can’t all world-leaders be interviewed this way? How could anything be unbalanced if we gave equal air-time to all of them? Perhaps a news-agency with something like a “world-service” would be well- placed to conduct such interviews eh? In the public interest? Let us know what they are all thinking? Or at least what they SAY they are thinking uncontaminated by the interviewer’s opinions. The interviewee speaking freely.

Tucker asked Putin, twice I think- would he negotiate with the Biden administration. It may have been a bit of an unfair question. Can anyone negotiate with a man who has lost his faculties? I note that Putin didn’t use Biden’s obvious disability as a chance to mock Biden or The USA.

Mark Zuckerberg says Facebook restricting a story about Joe Biden’s son during the 2020 election was based on FBI misinformation warnings.

The New York Post alleged leaked emails from Hunter Biden’s laptop showed the then vice-president was helping his son’s business dealings in Ukraine.

Facebook and Twitter restricted sharing of the article, before reversing course amid allegations of censorship.

Zuckerberg said that getting the decision wrong “sucks”.

Rishi to have new education rooms fitted in schools …

North Korean children were taught in school that they were fed, clothed and nurtured in all aspects by the “grace of the Chairman”.[23] The larger elementary schools in the country have a room set aside for lectures that deal specifically with Kim Il-sung (known as the Kim Il-sung Research Institute). These rooms are well taken care of, are built of high quality materials, and have a model of his birthplace in Mangyongdae-guyok.[31] The size of the images of him which adorned public buildings are regulated to be in proportion to the size of the building on which they hang.[32] His place of birth has also become a place of pilgrimage.[23]

Kang Chol-hwan wrote of his childhood in North Korea:

To my childish eyes and to those of all my friends, Kim Il-sung and Kim Jong-il were perfect beings, untarnished by any base human function. I was convinced, as we all were, that neither of them urinated or defecated. Who could imagine such things of gods?[33]

The larger issues here are not about Mann, but rather the continued failures within the climate science community to uphold fundamental norms of conduct among its own ranks. For instance, in the trial we learned that Penn State’s committee looking into Mann’s conduct following Climategate wanted to censure him for his behavior — apparently that was overturned upon the intervention of the Penn State president.

The ONS is forecasting that UK population will exceed 70 million ten years earlier than previously expected. In fact, by 2036, the population may exceed 74 million compared with the present level of 67 million.

The forecast has been revised upwards because the estimate of long-term net inward migration has risen by 28% – which must cast doubt on the reliability of the forecasting model.

The growth is driven by immigration, with 6.1 million more people moving to Britain than leaving. (Source: The Times)

But note: the new higher forecast assumes that long-term net immigration will be 315,000 a year compared with the current level of (wait for it) 745,000 in 2022. The reason for this assumption seems to be that the level of immigration fell (to 675,000) in the 12 months to last June.

But there is more: the figures refer to net, not gross, migration (that is, arrivals less leavers). There is no analysis of the skill level of those arriving compared with those leaving. The question must be raised as to whether we are losing the well-trained and importing cheap labour.

Population and immigration statistics are notoriously difficult to interpret but surely this subject should be investigated further. There is also a good case for some joined up thinking to assess the link between immigration on this scale and the housing market, pressures on the NHS, etc.

The BBC may be planning a programme on this – but don’t hold your breath.

Taking a leaf out of Marky Mark’s book, lets remember the attitude of government departments and Labour to mass immigration. Clue. They love it!

From The Guardian 27 May 2005
      https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2005/may/27/workandcareers.immigration

      Quote
Research published yesterday by the Department of Work and Pensions said the new workers increased UK output and total employment with minimal impact on native workers, although there has been a small increase in the unemployment count. There is also some evidence the regularisation scheme has reduced illegal working.

The immigration minister, Tony McNulty, said: “Workers are contributing to our economy, paying tax and NI, and filling key jobs in areas where there are gaps. We estimate registered workers contributed approximately £500m to the UK economy between May 2004 and March 2005.”

The shadow home secretary, David Davis, claimed that previous official estimates of a net annual flow of 13,000 were worthless. “Mr Blair’s government told us that the estimate of net immigration to the UK from the new EU accession countries would be between 400 and 1,000 a month. Today we learn that in fact more than 16,000 people a month have registered to work.”

A Home Office spokeswoman said the estimate, by University College, London, was for the net flow in and out of Britain. Yesterday’s figures only contained those who had come to the UK to work, taking took no account of numbers in the opposite direction.
      End quote.

Absolutely nothing has changed. the civil service mindset is exactly as it was, nearly 20 years later.
