Over at the Spectator today there is an article by Kate Andrews on why Hayley lost to Trump in the Republican primaries. Ms Andrews is a Spectator regular and is an arch Globalist and declared Never Trumper.
What is interesting is that she was musing about why the likes of Ron DeSantis didn’t get very far in the race. Her view is that Republican voters would have been warned off him by his attacks of free enterprise corporations like Disney!!!
She simply doesn’t understand that what now motivates grass roots Republican voters and Trump supporters is loathing , perhaps hatred , of woke and globalism. They know that globalism is bad for them , fewer jobs , lower wages and that woke creates culture that they don’t recognise and don’t like. Disney is the epitome of woke and globalism. Attacking it would be a very attractive thing for most New Republicans. The entire US swamp is woke or neo liberal and ordinary folk detest them.
Kate hasn’t understood that the old Republican globalist country club time servers , the party that she belonged to , has been overthrown and a new party created by Trump which puts American people first and globalism a long way second.
The same analysis can be applied to the laughably out of touch One Nation globalist Tories ( surely an oxymoron) in Westminster.

Double – I wonder how much of an element of revenge is there over the theft of the 2020 election ? The bbc /obama Biden narrative as to why Biden will win in November is that the economy is allegedly ‘ok’ and inflation has fallen …. -this will be false reason for Biden winning as opposed to the truth of another fixed election ….

I was very surprised that Ms Andrews wrote that attacking woke/ globalism would be a vote loser for DeSantis. It’s the main reason why Trump is so popular . Her comments have made me consider the outlandish proposition that some of the MSM suffers from TDS really do think that ordinary voters might actually believe that even more woke globalism will be good for them and their families.

This is quite a different symptom of TDS from the usual Orange Man Bad tribalist chants that we hear from the MSM. Perhaps they really do think that ordinary folk love globalism because they think it’s good for them! If so they aren’t just out of touch they are in outer space.

The FT has moved to the Left and is for the most part pretty useless regarding opeds and even its financial reporting is suspect most of the time, allowing left wing bias to colour what needs to be absolutely impartial accurate reporting.

They have however managed to produce an interesting piece on attitudes around the Middle East towards America over the Gaza conflict. It’s affecting US business as they are being boycotted across the globe and losing money as a result.

On 9 September 2006, BBC News reported that the Muslim boycott of Danish goods had reduced Denmark’s total exports by 15.5% between February and June. This was attributed to an approximated 50% decline in exports to the Middle East. The BBC said, “The cost to Danish businesses was around 134 million euros ($170m), when compared with the same period last year, the statistics showed.”[72] However, The Guardian newspaper in the UK said, “While Danish milk products were dumped in the Middle East, fervent right-wing Americans started buying Bang & Olufsen stereos and Lego. In the first quarter of this year Denmark’s exports to the US soared 17%.”[73] Overall the boycott did not have a significant effect on the Danish economy.[74]

    Paywalled so here it is:

Rashad has clashed with family about the US for as long as he can remember, defending America as a “force for good” when relatives railed against US military interventions.

When they complained that Washington pushed “liberal values” down Arab throats, Rashad replied that someone had to support human rights in an illiberal region. But “everything changed” after the October 7 attack on Israel, said the Lebanese-Saudi, as the US gave its staunch backing to the Jewish state’s retaliatory offensive in Gaza.

“That’s when I realised everything I’d been defending was a lie,” said the 26-year-old, who requested his surname be withheld. “America doesn’t care about human rights . . . Not only is it watching Israel commit genocide, it’s helping them do it. And then they have the audacity to turn around and lecture us about humanity.”

The comments reflect the feverish anger towards the US that has swept over the Arab world, fuelled by perceptions of Washington’s double standards over its support for Israel’s offensive as the humanitarian crisis in Gaza has spiralled.

Western and Arab officials fear that the US — long the dominant foreign power in the region — is alienating an entire cohort of young Arabs, likening the outrage triggered by the Gaza war to the regional backlash that followed the 2003 US-led invasion of Iraq.

“We’re witnessing unprecedented levels of anger towards the west, and the US in particular,” said a western diplomat in the region. “This is worse than 2003, when [the west] lost so much of its moral authority. Now I fear we’ll lose the next generation.”

Israel has vociferously denied allegations of genocide in Gaza brought in a case at the International Court of Justice, and insisted its forces do not target civilians. They say their war goal is to destroy Hamas, the Gaza-based militant group responsible for the October 7 assault that Israeli officials say killed about 1,200 people, and to free the hostages seized that day.

Yet the millions of young Arabs who have followed five months of conflict have expressed shock and distress at the devastation in the territory, where the death toll has exceeded 30,000, according to Palestinian officials. They have watched the body count climb, as famine and disease have spread.

The Israeli offensive has forced the vast majority of Gaza’s 2.3mn inhabitants from their homes and reduced the strip to a wasteland. Israel has only allowed limited aid to reach the population, leading UN agencies to warn of the threat of famine.

President Joe Biden’s administration has offered support for the Israeli offensive in Gaza, providing military aid and diplomatic cover amid growing international calls for a ceasefire.

Yet US officials have recently become more outspoken about their concerns, while pressing Israel to allow more aid into the strip. Vice-president Kamala Harris said on Sunday that “people in Gaza are starving”, in some of the strongest White House comments yet on the war.

“The conditions are inhumane and our common humanity compels us to act,” Harris said, as she called for an immediate ceasefire.

But many Arabs believe Biden is still not pushing hard enough for Israel to halt its offensive, in particular at continued arms sales to the Jewish state.

“They support freedoms and human rights and all of that, and then they’re fully supporting what Israel is doing,” said Ghadi Bou Kamel, a political science student at the American University in Beirut.

A recent Arab Opinion Index poll, which involved 8,000 people from 16 countries across the region, showed anger over the Gaza war and America’s response at record highs, with 76 per cent of respondents saying their position towards the US had become “more negative”. The pollsters said the survey showed “the Arab public has lost confidence in the US”.

Young Arabs have boycotted US brands, including Starbucks and McDonald’s, over their alleged support of Israel, scrapped plans to study in the US and turned down jobs at US companies. Anti-US protests have been held, particularly in Yemen and Iraq, where the US has launched strikes against Iran-aligned armed groups.

Starbucks and McDonald’s have issued statements saying they are “not funding or supporting any governments involved in this conflict”.

Dana el-Kurd, a senior non-resident fellow at the Arab Center Washington, said another impact of the US’s moral standing taking a battering in the region would be to undermine liberal Arabs and activists who have championed western democratic values in a region of autocrats, including improved human rights.

“What we’ve seen now during this war from the west has pushed the conversation back another generation,” Kurd said. “Now, democracy is on the chopping block, human rights are on the chopping block.”

Rym Momtaz, a consultant research fellow at the International Institute for Strategic Studies, said Arab perception of the US’s standing and the rules-based order began crumbling after the Iraq invasion, but “Gaza broke the system completely”.

The view in the Arab world is that western countries that built the UN system have been supporting Israel as it undermines them, she said.

“These countries suspended funding for UNRWA on the basis of Israel’s allegations without requiring its evidence first,” she added, referring to the claim that members of the UN agency took part in the Hamas-led attack on October 7. “They attempted to undercut the work of the International Court of Justice when South Africa brought its genocide case,” Momtaz said. Arabs saw this as showing “the international rules-based order and its values do not apply the same way to them”.

For Arabs living in the west, meanwhile, the Gaza conflict has created a sense of profound crisis. The fact that many have dual citizenship has only added to the sense of disillusionment.

“I’m finding it increasingly difficult to identify with a country that has a foreign policy that’s completely unjust towards the region where I’m from, and towards the religion I adhere to,” said one Arab investment banker in his 30s living in London.

The dilemma had made the dual British national reconsider his options, including leaving the UK. “I don’t have to leave, but I want to,” he said. “I’m angry.”

“It’s useful to remember that the 10.7 attacks were THIRTY TIMES the magnitude of 9.11 to the US: you know, the attacks that prompted the US to bomb Afghanistan back into the Stone Age and go to war for two decades. ‘Proportionality’ is in the eye of the beholder.

“So imagine that, in a single day, pitiless enemies had attacked the length of one of our borders, killing some 35,000 Americans, 9,000 of them soldiers—some surprised in their sleep, some fighting heroically in doomed bands of fewer than a dozen. A dozen simultaneous 9/11s, if you will. Imagine some 6,500 hostages taken, and 3 million to 6 million people displaced from their home along America’s borders. And instead of hundreds of rapes and mutilations, thousands. Imagine, too, that the ensuing war has already taken another 5,000 or 6,000 soldiers’ lives, with perhaps 10 times as many wounded, and no end in sight.”

What is truly baffling is why “proportionality” only seems to apply to Israel. EX: U.S. and other western governments criticizing Israel for disproportionate response to Oct 7 plus 18 yrs of constant missile/rocket attacks – then when a terrorist drone kills 3 U.S. soldiers in Jordan a couple weeks back the U.S. launched a B2 squadron and dropped 125 bombs on 85 locations in Iraq and Syria….

It really doesn’t matter what you or I or any individual ‘thinks’, what is a problem is people thinking in parochial small ways that this is simply a conflict between Hamas and Israel and seeing it in terms of black and white, right and wrong, instead of shades of grey.

There’s a whole world to consider what ever you might like to think and as the FT article above shows of the closest region, they are mighty pissed at Israels response, but then so is 95% of the world, and they are also pissed at America, and to a lesser degree Britain too.

This matters because even if they don’t get involved militarily they will do economically and already US chains are begining to lose business and when that happens they go to the politicians and say – no money for you until you sort our problems.

I’m sure we’ve all seen the Biden administration piss off just about every country they tried to influence especially in Africa and the Middle East, and also pretty much most of Asia too, a remarkable achievement in such a short time frame, and I’m sure everyone is aware of the BRICS group and de-Dollarisation.

This war with Hamas will not last forever, and a future with peace is not being considered by the main protagonist. If Israel wants a future it desperately needs to start thinking about the wider world and how it is perceived, because it had great sympathy after the Hamas attacks, but all that has now gone.

And once again the BBC latch onto a film because of it’s left-wing activist content. And the IMDB reviews back that up 100% with reasonable sounding comments giving it 1 or 2 out of 10 while others simply gush meaningless praise and give it 10/10. Always a sign that it has caught the cancer of the hypocrite Left.

All this praise for a film which scores 5.6 out of 10. And that’s including the fake agenda voters.

And even when reviewing a film, the BBC just have to slip this in there – in it’s own separate paragraph no less:

‘Indigenous children continue to be removed from their families at record rates by child protective services.’

A deliberately worded sentence using the context of the film to make you think how unjust it is. Another very dirty BBC trick : the lie by inference.

No details why ‘protective services’ are doing that of course. Maybe the fathers are drunks and represent a threat to their child ?.

A quick check on the internet tells me this:
‘In 75% of cases Aboriginal children are removed from their homes because of exposure to family violence or a parent’s inability to care for them’

No mention of that of course from the BBC because it means they can’t be portrayed as victims. Another whopping lie by omission.

Well done Tiffany, your review is everything I expected it to be.

I wonder why. Let’s check what both sides were demanding:

‘Israel did not send a delegation to Cairo, saying it first wanted a list of the surviving hostages who could be released under the agreement.’
OK, sounds reasonable to me. Except of course they asked for this days ago. How come they didn’t get it ?.

“Head teacher who was sacked for tapping her OWN child’s hand after being reported by a colleague is cleared following probe nightmare.

Shelly-Ann Malabver-Goulbourne was trying to get her three-year-old to stop playing with a hand sanitiser in her office when she used two fingers to attract his attention, an employment tribunal heard.
The incident was witnessed by the teacher in charge of child safety, who accused her of hurting her son and completed a ’cause for concern’ form to report a ‘safeguarding incident’.

Ms Bhagwandas reported witnessing the head smack her son on the hand, that the child had been crying and that she had ‘pacified’ him. Ms Malabver-Goulbourne was suspended and a disciplinary investigation launched.
Although both the local authority and police thought no further action was necessary, the Trust ploughed on with its probe.

In May 2022, Ms Malabver-Goulbourne was sacked for gross misconduct. The Trust told her that ‘whether a tap or otherwise, this was unnecessary physical contact with a pupil, which constitutes an assault’ and a breach of policies and statutory guidance.”

“Families of Hamas hostages blame ‘cancel culture’ for figures including Michelle Obama staying silent on their plight despite previously rallying to the cause of captured Nigerian schoolgirls.

A ‘Bring Back Our Girls’ campaign has been launched for 19 women who remain in captivity, in a nod to the slogan that called for the return of girls taken by Boko Haram jihadists ten years ago.

Feminist icons, including former First Lady Michelle Obama and actress Angelina Jolie, previously rallied to the cause of the captured Nigerians.

But aside from UK figures including Commons Leader Penny Mordaunt and Countdown maths whizz Rachel Riley, the A-listers who fell over each other to pose with ‘Bring Back Our Girls’ signs in 2014 have stayed silent.

Gili Roman, 39, whose sister-in-law Carmel Gat, also 39, is among the 19 female captives, said: ‘I am 100 per cent sure that Michelle Obama thinks it is wrong to take hostages.

‘So the only question is why doesn’t she talk about it?
‘What I’ve learned from my visits in the US is the level of cancel culture. It’s basically a bullying tactic to keep people quiet, and it works.’

Ashley Waxman Bakshi, 38, whose 19-year-old cousin Agam Berger is a captive, also told of her pain over celebrities ignoring their cause. ‘It’s disappointing, frustrating and actually frightening to see the hypocrisy of celebrities worldwide,’ she said.

‘They were quick to recognise that it’s never OK to kidnap innocent people when it was done in Nigeria, but continue to fail to condemn it when it is done to Israelis.'”

“Extremists ‘will come for you next’ families of Israeli hostages held by Hamas warn UK. Israeli families of the kidnap victims of Hamas came to London to deliver a harrowing message today.

Britain has been warned that it could be next in line for terrorist atrocities as the families of Israeli hostages taken by Hamas told their harrowing tales.

Families of eight of the 134 hostages, including two British subjects, still being held by Hamas in tunnels in Gaza made a heartbreaking appeal at the Israeli embassy in London for their loved ones to be returned to them. “What happened to us will happen to every other liberal western country. This is just the beginning if they succeed.

“They have done it in the past the bombing in Madrid, the bombings in London and Canada. I mean, this is an international issue, emphasising the Western world. This issue needs to end.

In a terrible twist, the press conference took place as news broke that Hamas had walked out of ceasefire talks in Egypt and refused to accept an agreement which would allow many of the hostages to return home.

Relatives spoke of the horror of what the hostages are going through with tales of rapes by Hamas and denial of medical aid.

They also lashed out at the “hypocrisy” of leading international figures like Michelle Obama or organisations like the Red Cross and United Nations which have failed to speak out for the hostages or intervene to get access to them.”

She asked of the western media: “Why are you are quiet about everything? How can you sleep at night by knowing that our brothers, your brothers are getting I don’t know what they’re doing there. The ladies to the men to the babies to the kids. As a woman, I’m terrified for everyone.”

One journalist asked if they felt for the families of Palestinian prisoners locked up in Israel.

An outraged Mr Cohen responded: “First of all, Palestinian prisoners – emphasising criminals – are not equal. For their crimes from murdering and shooting and we help the prisoners with all their rights, including visiting of families, fair trial, representation of lawyers.

“You want to compare it to innocent people who are living their lives and were kidnapped. And we don’t even get information are they alive or not or what is their condition.”
He added that the suffering for both sides of the war will end “when the 137 hostages are marched out of Gaza to freedom.”

As predicted the autocue reader who is also the illegitimate US President gave a wonderful speech in his ‘state of the onion’ gig – according to the Far Left Trump hating BBC

The daughter of a dead labour leader who is now a U.S. BBC droid -spoke with that routine ‘isn’t joe great ‘ language – but without much enthusiasm . She remains ‘approved ‘.

It seems Obama decided that Biden would not mention the name of Donald Trump – presumably because the polling operations didn’t want to see an approval spike in the random groups being used to monitor bidens (un) popularity ….

I heard – too – that it is unlikely that there will be a ‘debate ‘ between sleepy joe and president Trump … any surprise ?

I feel confident enough to call out that Getty picture the BBC have chosen as a fake.

Has anyone ever gone in to see a doctor and they have actually been sat with a stethoscope around their neck like in a carry-on film ?.

And I see the computer screen is off. They are always on because they have been checking the patients record before they come in.

Anyone spot anything else fishy about it (except of course the ‘doctor’ doesn’t look like she has left school yet) ?

And what is on that paper she has ?. It looks like money.

Liar liar pants on fire BBC. You are using fake pictures. Funny how it’s OK when you do it isn’t it ? – particularly when you have chosen them to push your politicial agenda like this one.

Still not blatant a lie as the one the BBC used with a black nurse assisting a white female doctor during surgery. Except of course there was nobody on the table under them.

Edit: Just checked with google images and the BBC have used this same picture on:

    20 Jan 2019
    30 Jan 2019
    9 Nov 2019
    17 Dec 2019
    299 June 2022
    19 Oct 2022
    22 Sept 2022
    8 Dec 2023

The question is : when does a picture specifically staged to push a political agenda which is used in a real news report become a lie ?.
In any event, it’s ethically dubious.

I’ve been telling for weeks something like this was bound to happen, but you thought it anti Semitic to even mention there might be negatives to the way Netanyahu was prosecuting this war. This is just the start as the US capitulates to world opinion.

The best thing which could happen is that the US forces Netanyahu to resign, blames everything on him to try to get some modicum of world support again and installs someone who can still get the job done without the massive and needless civilian casualties.

The alternative is global ostracisation of Israel with only a few Western allies, and global ostracisation of the US leading to further declines in its power and influence if there’s any left after Biden leaves office.

Just remember, the US and UK are no longer capable of even preventing the Houthis from attacking ships in the Suez canal, so they would have zero chance of taking on Iran and its proxies who have half a million men under arms with sophisticated weapons.

The danger to Israel is that Netanyahu is allowed to rile the Arab world to such a degree that they decide to wipe Israel off the map. I’d rather it stayed as it is.

The other potential future is that Russia imposes a settlement on Israel which is of a more compromising less beligerant nature, and with the current track record of Russia and China making peace treaties in places of the world we in the West thought impossible, maybe they could find a solution which has eluded the West ever since the state of Israel was founded.
