    Hiyaaaaaaaaah Uppers!

    Dunnit!

(I was just passing by, empty glass in hand, when the alarm went off, small/huge dog started barking, Senora O’Blene demanded a refill, and I had to escape to do the washing up…)

Life gets tedious , don’ it…

(Just watched a M*A*S*H from way back – the one where Frank tries to auction garbage to the locals! Radar was just great in that one, Hawkeye was not quite getting to where he should with the really pretty nurse…)!

I found ‘Yus my dear’ the other day with Arthur Mullard and Mike Reid.

Delighfully stupid, simple slapstick comedy with no agenda whatsoever except to try and entertain you.

How long is it since we’ve seen anything like that ?.

And it’s always interesting to see ‘stars’ in it before they got famous. Mike Baldwin is in one of them and it had a chopper’ in it which Arthur tried to ride but the back tyre popped when he got on it.

I remember falling off mine with the dreaded front-wheel wobble.

As you already know, there’s been yet another horrific Islamist attack in Germany. We should be getting used to these by now. Actually, I think we are…

What I think is worthy of note is how our ever-reliable MSM are choosing to report the carnage…two men stabbed, one a policeman and the Muslim assailant shot and (hopefully!) dead. The victim has been described as “Far right”…a “rabble rouser” and an “Islamophobe”. So, in essence, a pretty normal bloke.

The chap who has been so badly injured was attacked for warning the public about the very sort of assault he has just been subjected to…and yet he’s the bad guy.

There’s one good thing happening in Europe and that’s the growing popularity of political groups that aren’t afraid to speak openly about the problems caused by these backward peoples that have come to live amongst us. They’re gaining strength almost everywhere.

    Meanwhile, we’re getting Keir Starmer…

What we call the return of common sense, the BBC are calling ‘The rise of the far-right’ as if it’s come kind of social deformity which must be stamped out.

Another example of the BBC’s truly warped priorities.

On the 6 pm news, an interview with a D Day veteran was cut short in order………to feature an American Asian boy who has won a spelling competition…………in America.

The BBC webshite helpfully has a web page with charts and graphs about South Africa.
The ANC has been in charge for 29 years.

Let’s see how SA has fared after all these years of black majority rule, remembering most of the population is black.

    1.Per capita GDP down 20% since 2011.
    2. The most unequal country in the world, closely followed by Namibia, Zambia, Eswatini, Botswana. Anyone notice a pattern?
    3. Unemployment rate 33%. As high as 44% for 15-34 year olds.
    4. Assault, Robbery, Murder, Rape crimes all up since the end of Covid.
    5. Days with scheduled power cuts up from 0 days per year in 2017 to an astonishing 289 in 2023. The power company, Escom, is of course state owned.

Not a huge success is it? Yet the ANC still manage to poll 42% in this week’s election. One has to conclude that the gullible population, many even now voting on bitter-and-twisted sectarian lines, deserves all it gets. Which is very little.

People voting on purely racist grounds here is one of the great elephants in the room the BBC will never go near.

A Palestinian terrorist against any white person would win by a landslide in many of our constituencies. That is the essence of what we have imported.

German anti-Islam activist injured in knife attack
    https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/ckmm4lgm0l4o

… or could have been …

‘Six people stabbed by Afghanistani man in Germany’.

Which would be MUCH more accurate and informative.

This article focuses FAR more on the anti-Islam group than why he might have been stabbed. The contempt of the author for the man who got stabbed slips through the cracks at the with the monumentally unprofessional line:

‘He was a member of the Christian Social Union (CSU) – the Bavarian sister party of the Christian Democratic Union (CDU) – but left before he was kicked out.’

‘Sarah Fowler’ at the BBC also gets ‘far-right’ in there 3 times and ‘right-wing’ twice.

It’s clear to me from the article that Sarah thinks the anti-Islam activists deserved it. She concentrates far more on him than these racist hate-driven stabbings.

Well done Sarah. You are everything we expect the BBC to be.sarah-in-nyc2.jpg

Back in days of yore when Mr AsI was fool enough to pay for a TV Licence and to consume BBC broadcast news he came to notice how the coverage of American politics served as a cypher or cover for our national brodcaster’s left biases.

Where outright forthright criticism of UK conservatism would appear too blatant, sailing our BBC too obviously close to the headwinds of impartiality rules, there was always Bush, the Republicans, the South, fundamental Christians, gun laws, school shootings, nuclear missiles, cruise missiles, multinational corporations, Jim Crow, the KKK, Wall Street, Vietnam… blimey, I’m surprised they didn’t criticise and sneer at yellow cabs and Hershey bars – perhaps they did?

We’ve moved on somewhat since your press reviewer hereabouts went off-grid so to speak – cashing out a couple of months refund on his last annual TV Licence, turning to YouTube for light entertainment and pushed too far taking up a lump hammer to deal with the Today programme on Radio 4.

I may have exaggerated somewhat there by claiming I did an Eddie Shoestring on my wireless. There’s one for the teenagers: Shoestring was a British detective fiction drama series… featuring a down-at-heel private detective played by Trevor Eve as a former computer expert who has resigned after suffering a nervous breakdown. In those days computers were large bulky machines with open reel tape drives creating considerable noise. (Thank you Wiki, but as I recall there was more to it – I seem to remember a scene where Eddie took a fire axe to a bank of his workplace IMBs)

At first, Shoestring drives an old Hillman Hunter, but when this is destroyed, he purchases a bright orange Ford Cortina estate (Wiki) – it was a different time, as they say.

Fortunately for us, or perhaps unfortunately (depending how you look at these things) the likes of Bill Gates, Jeff Bezos and Mark Zuckerberg were apparently immune to such violent bouts of cyberphobia – but we digress.

Our BBC has moved on. Yankee-bashing has developed into a more precisely targeted art form as presenters and producers feel less constrained in expressing their contempt for British-based conservatism.

Emily Maitlis is a case in point. Having spectacularly blown the coop on Newsnight with one last great lefty monologue hurrah – she now pops up in the junior poundshop Guardian that is the ‘i’ newspaper with: In a sea of spineless men, one woman took Trump down (allegedly – Trump still insists nothing happened)

Our bronzed strumpet praising their porn star star witness for the show trail prosecution of the Donald – lefty popcorn porn show money shot indeed.

Well, they’re all getting their rocks off now: Guilty ‘hush money’ verdicts (FT); Don rants at everything… Deluded. Deranged. Dangerous… Felon Trump rails at migrants in diatribe against justice (Daily Mirror); Biden: ‘Reckless’ for Trump to call trial rigged (our BBC acting the voyeur – getting their jollies doing it at one remove)

But after their orgasmic porn star assisted simulated outpouring – next may come the regret, the shame, the self-loathing: Trump claims record donations after verdict (Guardian); Former PM says ‘lawfare is backfiring’ and conviction will make re-election more likely (Telegraph); Trumpy is a bit cross (Daily Star); Donald Trump gets a SIX-POINT bump in approval after being found guilty on 34 counts according to snap Daily Mail poll: ‘I think it was a waste of taxpayer money’ (Mail)

Ukrainian leader says US delaying use of western weapons on targets inside Russia has cost lives – this from the formerly peacenik Guardian. How odd. Guardianistas are usually so pro-ceasefires: ‘It’s time for this war to end’: Joe Biden presents new Gaza ceasefire plan

We have all been profoundly shaken by recent events in Israel and Gaza. This latest conflict marks the start of a chapter that is likely to affect millions of lives, both in the Middle East and further afield, for years to come. With reporters on the ground, and others producing live blogs, videos, podcasts and photo essays as the story unfolds, the Guardian is dedicated to bringing you independent, fact-checked journalism 24/7. – that’s quite some manifesto

I’d read the Guardian’s feature: A guide to ADHD and autism Free 20-page magazine – but I don’t have the necessary attention span

Keir Starmer bromancer the formely patriotic Times has gone all dewy-eyed again for their new flame…

Starmer: I’ll create wealth… Labour leader puts economy at the heart of pitch for power as he seeks to win from the centre ground (Times)

    Times and Starmer,
    Sitting in a tree
    K-I-S-S-I-N-G!
    First comes love
    Then comes marriage
    Then comes Diane Abbott
    In a baby carriage!

    Run that by me again…

Starmer: I’ll create wealth… direct appeal to middle-class voters – comes hot on the heels of: Speaking to the BBC on Monday, he insisted he was a socialist (Guardian) – Sir Keir there, trimming his words to the tastes of his particular audience – whatever that happens to be in any particular moment.

And finally, proof positive that were it bereft of all news – our media can still quite happily make something from nothing: So what DOES Melania’s deafening silence mean? See page eight (Daily Mail)

    Here’s a question for the bbc :-

Two Americans, one president, one former president.

One of these allegedly had consensual sex with a porn star, behind closed doors, and paid her some money to keep quiet. Tax practices were incorrectly followed, possibly fraudulently.

The other has now supplied the corrupt Ukranian government and military with armaments with sufficient range to reach any targets in Russia that the coke-addled unelected president decides he doesn’t like. When it goes wrong, said president will insist that American troops in Ukraine is the only answer.

The question is, dear bbc, which one of these should I fear the most?

Was Doctor Who’s move to BBC iPlayer a good idea?
    https://uk.news.yahoo.com/doctor-who-bbc-iplayer-ratings-124419698.html

Good old Yahoo. They know full well why it’s a flop – and it isn’t anything to do with iPlayer.

The previous all-time-low audience for a Dr Who episode was 4.6 million in 202.

This new ultra-woke gay black Dr with transsexual assistants managed to easily beat that with the first episode of 4.01 million. Then it outdid itself for the second with 3.91 million and then set yet another record for the third with 3.58 million. These are consolidated figures, not the old ‘overnight’ excuse.

They’ve turned it into complete shit. Every episode gets less viewers then the previous all-time low. Will heads roll ?. Will whoever is in charge be sacked because ratings mean money ?. Will the gay Russel T Davies be fired ?. Nope – he’s got the job for series 2 already.

All because it’s the BBC and ratings don’t matter. They get the money from the public purse no matter what. Which is why they are free to put as much far-left political agenda into everything whether the people who pay for them like it or not.

This is an excellent example of why we should not be forced to fund them.

The Radio Times write-up is highly amusing as it desperately tries to claim some kind of success from it all.
    https://www.radiotimes.com/tv/sci-fi/doctor-who-boom-consolidated-ratings-newsupdate/

‘Nevertheless, there is evidence that the show may be gaining ground on terrestrial, with ratings for this week’s 73 Yards hitting the highest overnight figure of the season to date – 2.62 million, just beating former record holder Space Babies (2.6m).’

    lol.

This is a cut-down version of Event 201 which was held in October 2019 as a tabletop exercise to prepare for the completely fake pandemic of 2020.

Throughout the entire exercise the ‘experts’ continually pushed the notion of ‘flooding the zone’. In other words, they understood that they needed to get even one in front of a brainwashing set and flood them with a never-ending stream of lies and deception.
Once Starmer is elected the gloves are off. He will declare war against Russia and the next fake pandemic will hit soon. They are already slaughtering millions of chickens in the US under the pretext of stopping the spread of the non-existent bird flu. People need to wake up. This is all part of Agenda 2030 aka the Climate Change hoax. They know no one is buying the global boiling sh*te but the lie of germ theory has been repeated so often they cannot see the lies they are being fed. The entire quote is
“If you tell a big lie and repeat it often enough, people will eventually believe it. You can keep telling the lie as long as the state can shield people from the political, economic, and military consequences of the lie. That is why it is vital for the state to use all its power to suppress dissent. The truth is the sworn enemy of the lie, and therefore the truth is the state’s greatest enemy.”

London is hosting the cities first ever Muslim International Film Festival, promoting Islamic culture and stories through film.

The festival director has said the goal of the festival, which includes 8 feature films and 2 short films, is to change people’s perceptions of Islam.

“Many of the stories that have Muslim characters are very cartoonish, very tropey. It’s always those four key tropes: Muslims are terrorists, Muslim men are misogynists, Muslim women are oppressed, and Islam is a threat to the West.

And it seems there’s no other original ideas apart from the odd individual or show. It’s about how we platform these other wonderful, rich stories.”

The festival comes weeks after the Israeli Film Festival in London, was targetted by protests and boycotts, attempting to force cinemas to stop screenings of Israeli films including a documentary on the Oct 7th Nova Festival.

During their summer break, a girl in his class wrote to him about “optimistic young people filled through and through with the healthy spirit” of Marxism; he replied caustically, “Optimism is the opium of mankind! A healthy spirit stinks of stupidity! Long live Trotsky!”

The girl, under pressure, shared the contents of the letter with others in the Party at school, who did not find it funny. Commissions were convened to investigate Ludvik, who remained defiant, culminating in a plenary session — led by his peer, Pavel Zemanek — in which he was unanimously expelled from the Party and from the college. At the wedding of his old friend Jaroslav, whom he had once encouraged to revive Moravian folk music under the Party banner, Ludvik found that his stance toward that revival had turned bitter.

Having lost his student exemption, he was drafted into the Czech military where alleged subversives formed work brigades, and spent the next few years working in the mines at a labor camp in Ostrava.

I read this somewhere today, it raised a little smile:

“Checking out at the store, the young cashier suggested to the older woman, that she should bring her own grocery bags because plastic bags weren’t good for the environment.

The woman apologized and explained, “We didn’t have this green thing back in my earlier days.” The young clerk responded, “That’s our problem today. Your generation did not care enough to save our environment for future generations.”

She was right — our generation didn’t have the green thing in its day.

Back then, we returned milk bottles, soda bottles, and beer bottles to the store. The store sent them back to the plant to be washed sterilized and refilled, so it could use the same bottles over and over. So they really were truly recycled. But we didn’t have the green thing back in our day.

Grocery stores bagged our groceries in brown paper bags, which we reused for numerous things, The most memorable besides household garbage bags, was the use of brown paper bags as book covers for our schoolbooks. This was to ensure that public property, (the books provided for our use by the school) was not defaced by our scribbling. Then we were able to personalize our books on the brown paper bags. But too bad we didn’t do the green thing back then.

We walked upstairs because we didn’t have an escalator in every store and office building. We walked to the grocery store and didn’t climb into a 300-horsepower machine every time we had to go two blocks. But she was right. We didn’t have the green thing in our day.

Back then, we washed the baby’s diapers because we didn’t have the throwaway kind. We dried clothes on a line, not in an energy-gobbling machine burning up 220 volts — wind and solar power really did dry our clothes back in our early days. Kids got hand-me-down clothes from their brothers or sisters, not always brand-new clothing. But that young lady is right; we didn’t have the green thing back in our day.

Back then, we had one TV, or radio, in the house — not a TV in every room. And the TV had a small screen the size of a handkerchief (remember them?), not a screen the size of the state of Montana. In the kitchen, we blended and stirred by hand because we didn’t have electric machines to do everything for us.

When we packaged a fragile item to send in the mail, we used wadded-up old newspapers to cushion it, not Styrofoam or plastic bubble wrap.

Back then, we didn’t fire up an engine and burn gasoline just to cut the lawn. We used a push mower that ran on human power. We exercised by working so we didn’t need to go to a health club to run on treadmills that operate on electricity. But she’s right; we didn’t have the green thing back then. We drank from a fountain when we were thirsty instead of using a cup or a plastic bottle every time we had a drink of water. We refilled writing pens with ink instead of

buying a new pen, and we replaced the razor blades with a razor instead of throwing away the whole razor just because the blade got dull. But we didn’t have the green thing back then.

Back then, people took the streetcar or a bus and kids rode their bikes to school or walked instead of turning their moms into a 24-hour taxi service. We had one electrical outlet in a room, not an entire bank of sockets to power a dozen appliances. And we didn’t need a computerized gadget to receive a signal beamed from satellites 23,000 miles out in space in order to find the nearest burger joint.

But isn’t it sad the current generation laments how wasteful we old folks were just because we didn’t have the green thing back then?

Please forward this to another selfish old person who needs a lesson in conservation from a smart-ass young person”

I agree totally, apart from the nappies. I had to use for my baby towelling nappies for a week. It was horrendous and really hard work. So pleased when the week was up and I could go back to the disposables. And I have seen calculations that suggest when you consider the amount of energy needed for washing and drying (only in wet weather of course), actually the disposables are better for the environment.

    Sigh….

“1066 and all what? A quarter of adults don’t know when the First World War or the Battle of Hastings was.

And a small minority even believe that the victor in the Battle of Hastings was Robin Hood.

The survey, which suggests that many of us flounder with such basic elements of our past, asked ten-year-old schoolchildren to compile a list of history questions they could answer.

These questions were then put to 1,000 adults in research for online booking service Trainline.

A quarter of the adults asked could not list the years in which the First World War took place.

Shockingly, a quarter struggled to recall the year of the Battle of Hastings, while 3 per cent believe it was won by Robin Hood and 2 per cent think it was won by French emperor Napoleon.

When asked about the Black Death, 23 per cent did not know that rat fleas carried the disease, while 2 per cent said that it was spread and carried by dogs.

Almost 40 per cent did not know that the Romans were responsible for building Hadrian’s Wall, while almost a third could not name the year of the Great Fire of London.

The findings come after a drop in visits to historical sites. According to Trainline data, 6.7million Britons have yet to set foot on a historical site, and the visitor numbers remain 11 per cent below pre-pandemic levels.”

Anyway ‘The Biden Plan’ was discussed by Nick and Kim. Kim managed to turn the Isareli Government Coalition from Far Right to Hard Right. The BBC will have approved of that. I once suggested to my environmental tutor at college that companies could each sponsor an endangered species.
She said, “that’s a fantastic idea”

I then suggested we could start with Kelloggs Corncrakes.

” The distinctive ‘crex crex’ call of the endangered Corncrake has once more been heard on Rathlin Island, Northern Ireland, and on the Isle of Coll, Scotland, this week, marking the return of this endangered species for another breeding season. The return of Corncrakes to the UK follows the news that numbers of the bird found in Scotland rose for the first time in 5 years in 2023.
The success of both populations, following worrying declines, is thanks to partnership working in Corncrake areas with the local communities, volunteers, farmers, crofters and landowners.”

      The Met commentary isn’t impartial

Officers have identified individuals within the crowd who have a history of being involved in violent disorder. A number have football banning orders and are associated with hooligan groups from London and across the UK.

There is also an element of the crowd previously well known for involvement in anti-lockdown protests during the pandemic and associated disorder.

While there have not been any offences so far, a number of people in the crowd are intoxicated.
The event still has a number of hours left to go.

Pro March quote tweet replies smash the Met for bias
“The Met Police are capable of recognising individuals with a football banning order or who’ve been on an anti-lockdown march
but unable to recognise individuals holding a Jihadi flag or pro Hamas signs 2 metres from them.

“Can we also have criminal record checks of all those on the Palestine marches please? As well as immigration checks.”

The police thread is mixed with tweets about Gaza protesters (Youth Demand) the police have ordered to stay the other side of the river

Officers are policing a number of events today. One is a protest by Youth Demand against military action in Gaza.

They have stated their intention to block roads and bridges. Currently around 50 are gathered at Jubilee Gardens.
If they set off anywhere, officers will intervene.
Youth Demand protesters went onto York Road, attempting to cause serious disruption by blocking traffic.
