“who think that after three years of indecision

that this country has become a prisoner to the old arguments of 2016

and that in this home of democracy we are incapable of honouring a basic democratic mandate

And so I am standing before you today to tell you

    the British people

    that those critics are wrong

The doubters, the doomsters, the gloomsters – they are going to get it wrong again

The people who bet against Britain are going to lose their shirts

because we are going to restore trust in our democracy”

because if there is one point we politicians need to remember it is that the people are our bosses

with high hearts and growing confidence we will now accelerate the work of getting ready

and the ports will be ready and the banks will be ready

and the factories will be ready

    and business will be ready

and the hospitals will be ready

and our amazing food and farming sector will be ready and waiting to continue selling

ever more not just here but around the world

and don’t forget that in the event of a no deal outcome we will have the extra lubrication of the £39 bn

We will happily send ‘far right’ protestors to prison for posting hurty texts or shouting at police dogs.
They are being placed in an environment where other inmates will want to seriously hurt them or even kill them according to some of the media comments.

    Two tier decisions being made.

‘The wrong kind of race murder ‘

Bet most people have never heard of this racist murder by a gang way back in 1994 [one year after Lawrence]…‘they had ‘stabbed up a white boy’.”‘

‘Some stories stay with you and never leave you until they’re told, even if it takes years to get the opportunity to tell them. One such story is the murder of Richard Everitt in 1994. Not solely because of the tragedy itself, which attracted little press coverage at the time, but because the response to the crime exposes a double standard in the unremitting debate on race that’s become ever more apparent in the intervening years. Here was the murder of a teenager that drew parallels with that of Stephen Lawrence a year earlier in 1993, except in this instance the victim of the crime was white and his killers were not.’

    https://thecritic.co.uk/issues/september-2020/the-wrong-kind-of-race-murder/

Google ‘richard everitt murder bbc’ and there’s a big fat nothing.

Google the same but using Lawrence’s name and there’s pages and pages of BBC reports and videos.

(Actually there is a BBC page, but not easy to find and it has spin)
BTW People have heard of that murder, cos it’s an old BNP trope, to falsely equate apples with oranges.
A similar apples with oranges false comparison the other way is when lefties falsely equate Muslim grooming raping gangs with the occasional white grooming raping gangs.
The point being that the latter are NOT given protection by their own community, or by the establishment, rather they are usually quickly arrested and tried.

So in the case of Stephen Lawrence the establishment screwed up, they blocked the proper investigation of the murder and no one was jailed. SL was a target cos he was black
Likewise Everitt was killed cos he was white,
BUT there was an investigation and Asian businessesman put up a reward.
One killer was convicted served 14 years, others fled abroad. One other was convicted of violence.

The case was used in political games
“Frank Dobson, the local Labour MP, denied a racial motive and said that suggestions of such would inflame the situation.”

Then in 2012 when a BNP councillor asked about the cases of Everitt and a similar one
” Mayor Boris Johnson said that both cases were solved and neither were racist

      The BBC spin in 2002
Title : Community team scores a winner
mid text “Based in north London, the initiative was set up after the murder of Richard Everett, a white teenager who was attacked by a local Asian gang in Kings Cross in 1995″. (sic it was 1994 and BBC spelled the name wrong)

Lies, damned lies, and statistics…and BBC ‘analysis.

BBC Newscast repeatedly stating that Labour got 34% of the vote in the election….what they failed to mention was that this was 34% of the 60% turnout…in other words they actually only won 20% of the possible vote. And they failed to mention that Labour won on a massive lie….well, many many lies. Times Radio’s ex-Labour spad presenter insisted that Labour never said they wouldn’t raise taxes and only said they wouldn’t raise income tax, national insurance or VAT….but, one, this gave the impression that no other taxes would rise…and two, Labour insisted they ‘had no plans…’ and that ‘it wasn’t in the manifesto…’ thus implying no other taxes or revenue raising measures would be inflicted upon ‘hard working people’…..indeed this was the title of their pitch…

‘Labour will not raise taxes on working people’

    https://labour.org.uk/updates/stories/labour-party-tax-policy-how-we-will-make-the-tax-system-fairer/

Even the BBC’s Jo Coburn revealed that Labour had been gloating that they had managed to hide their real intentions tax-wise and that they had used ‘weasel words’ to do so.

Labour lied and stole the election [not of course without a lot of help from idiot Tories…who still don’t get it…just listen to them as they preach the woke stuff in their leadership bids] and they aren’t being taken to task over it…..just look at Starmer’s reaction to Badenoch’s comments today….Starmer lies and lies and lies….the economy is relatively good, one of the best in the G7, the OBR did know about the blackhole, there is no ‘mess’ and Labour weren’t ‘elected’…they ‘won’ by default…with a mere 20% of the vote.

‘I say I’m not going to take lectures from anyone from the previous government who left the worst possible inheritance.

The country is in a real state, the economy has been badly damaged, nobody really argues in relation to that.

There’s a £22bn black hole unaccounted for, not on the books, the OBR didn’t know about it.

So, I think that what the Conservatives could do was to apologise for the mess that they made.

What we’re doing is cleaning it up. We’re going to strip it out, make sure that we rebuild the foundation so we can bring about the change that we were elected to bring about in this country.’

But he’s allowed to get away with saying his little mantra again and again and again…say it enough and it becomes ‘truth’…unless challenged by says..teh national broadcaster that claims it ‘holds power to account’…and that is its main purpose….Lord Hall….

‘ A free press serves a fundamental public interest – speaking truth to power. ‘

‘I’m incredibly proud of everything programmes like Spotlight in Northern Ireland, Disclosure in Scotland, Week In Week Out in Wales, and Inside Out across England are doing to expose wrongdoing and hold power to account….The BBC’s global services are one of this country’s greatest cultural gifts to the world. A gift based on speaking truth to power, being independent of all, serving no one but the right of our global audiences to the truth.

Truth matters because democracies depend on it. For democratic government to be legitimate it needs not just the consent of the people, but their informed consent.’

    • StewGreen says:

That ends by quoting the BBC boss Lord Hall’s speech
The BBC and the future of news 20 March 2019
‘I’m incredibly proud of everything programmes like …. Inside Out across England are doing to expose wrongdoing and hold power to account’

      Note the contradiction:
Inside Out, was cancelled on March 30th 2020 after running for almost 20 years as part of wider plans to save the BBC £25m.

(In 2022 in was restarted as We Are England, a slimmed down version with about 4 regions instead of 10)

    Here’s a plan:

If we all find a few Jews to kidnap, we can keep them in the cellar in the most horrific conditions you can imagine. Then we can start demanding anything we want. I might start with a Ferrari and a mansion.

Then – when the police come to rescue the Jews – we can murder one and the BBC and Starmer will blame everybody else because they didn’t give us what we demanded. They won’t even mention what terrible things we did to them earlier. They will launch such a barrage of outrageously biased publicity, we are sure to get anything we want the next time.

And because there are clearly no negative consequences, we can do it again in the future – confident they will give in to our terrorism.

At least that’s how it seems these days.

The BBC are more concerned about the Sudanese activist refugee being moved to another free house 35 miles away and having to buy a car than the murder of innocent civilians by terrorists. But then of course he is black and they are white.

    In German news today…

The chancellor has descibed the results of elections in Germany’s east that saw populist gains as “bitter”… (FT)

Bitte? Isn’that’s what you say to a German, after they say danke?

I know Germans tend to graffiti the popular slogan “Danke Mutti” onto those concrete counter-terrorism road barrier slabs, now a rather familiar sight in cities across Europe – for whatever reason. Apparently, it’s some form of tribute to the legacy of former chancellor Angela Merkel.

I guess the English equivalent to bitte as a response to the phrase thank you, ironically enough, would be You’re welcome.

While we’re on the frontpage of the FT and while we’re in Germany, that economic powerhouse at the heart of the EU…

How’s that Net Zero workin’ out fo’ yer?

VW to collide with workers by looking at first closures of factories in Germany… considering shutting factories in Germany for the first time in its 87-year history… warned that the European automotive industry was in a “very… serious situation”… Lower than expected demand for electic vehicles in Europe has hit the region’s carmakers

In further bad news for anyone who might have imagined Brexit would enable Britain to separate itself from such self-imposed continental woes…

Ve haf vays of making you EV.

Petrol cars rationed to meet eco targets… Drivers in Britain face a shortage of petrol and hybrid cars as manufacturers ration vehicles to avoid large net zero fines… Firms ‘cannot supply vehicles people want’ because EV quotas force them to limit sales (Telegraph)

Daily life, these days, involves us in a constant struggle to relieve stress – or so we’re led to believe.

100 tips for a less stressful life – promises the Guardian

Not to worry, Sir Keir’s on the job. He’s already prioritised taking stress off our teachers.

Ofsted sets new timetable to ease stress of inspections… the latest reform of the regulator designed to reduce stress on school staff (Times)

I’m wondering about the scrapping of Ofsted’s former one-word ratings to be replaced by “report cards” and how that might impact the Food Standards Agency? Gone will be the familiar green cards on our restaurant windows with their zero to five ratings and instead presumably some lengthy review in the manner of “soufflé to die for… but a tad too many vermin in the kitchen”

Mr AsI now has to admit anecdotally he once almost entered some establishment after a far too peremptory glance at the green card on the door in which he mistook the rating ‘one’ as a shining endorsement of the cuisine. Mr AsI’s dining companion fortunately pointing out his mistake. A score of one is bad.

Sam Fox’s obscene threat to airport policeman (Mirror) – happily, to quell speculation on this one – our BBC elaborates: Former model and singer Samantha Fox threatened to knock out a police officer’s teeth after being removed from a British Airways plane, a court has heard. Fox has pleaded guilty to being drunk and disorderly during the incident, which stopped the London Heathrow to Hamburg flight from taking off on 3 December (BBC)

Kemi Badenoch blames loss of voter support on ‘talking Right but governing Left… Brutally honest! ‘Tories need to stop acting like Labour’ (Daily Express) – just like Starmer and his dynamic pricing action – you’ve left that a bit late, luv.

    And finally

Workers to gain right not to be ‘snooped on’ by bosses (left-leaning ‘i’ newspaper) – so now it’s just the government allowed to do the snooping on us?

Welfare Watchlist: How the government is spying on our bank accounts… Amendments to the 2022 Data Protection and Digital Information (DPDI) Bill will potentially grant the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) powers to snoop on the bank accounts of benefits recipients, ostensibly to clampdown on fraud. (Positive Money)

Gosh, I wonder how looking into pensioners’ bank accounts might be useful for a government keen to means test formerly universal OAP benefits – such as winter fuel allowances… subsidised travel passes, etc?

Aid to China from the UK fell to approximately £48 million in 2021-22 – down from £82 million in 2019 – and it is expected to continue to decline rapidly in future, according to the aid watchdog.13 Jul 2023

The result was the release of a short report by MMC in early July 2023, bluntly titled Murderous border controls. MMC reported that an estimated 794 Ethiopian migrants were killed and 1,703 injured by Saudi security forces in 2022, and 75 were killed and 226 injured between January and April 2023.

UK weapons have played a central role in the war in Yemen. The UK government admits that the Saudi-led coalition has attacked the country using weapons made by companies around the UK, representing billions of pounds of arms sales.

I think it very likely that VAT rates on what our Communist rulers consider to be “luxury” goods and services will be increased. There is precedent for this:
      From Wiki:

In July 1974, Labour Chancellor Denis Healey reduced the standard rate of VAT from 10% to 8% but introduced a new higher rate of 12.5% for petrol and some luxury goods. In November 1974, Healey doubled the higher rate of VAT to 25%.[7] Healey reduced the higher rate to 12.5% in April 1976.

Take your pick for what items will be chosen. Bearing in mind what is done with our precious money, generated by our efforts, I now consider Tax to be State theft.

It’s strange really. I thought after Thatcher and the Enterprise culture we had become a sensible Country. However the loons have taken over.

How long have you got? Just listening to half an hour of Today and there’s a days worth of material for this site.

Letters leaked to the BBC from the head of the Civil Service who has never been known to say a positive word about the Tories, The government’s appeasement of Muslim voters…or as the BBC calls them…’Labour activists’…somehow reluctant to name names, Israel ‘illegal settlers’…hmmm…undocumented migrants surely?…and Labour’s appeasement of Hamas…as Lammy makes his announcement Hamas say they will kill the remaining hostages if Israel tries to rescue them….to no outrage at all…and almost certainly Hamas felt able to make this statement as they realise nobody actually cares about the Jewish hostages and whether they get murdered or not, and of course a survey that says pride in Britain, identity and its history has dramatically fallen.

Why does BBC News choose to say ‘The BBC has seen a letter from Sir Simon Case…’? It had previously boasted that the letter was ‘leaked to the BBC’….which would indicate someone with a political motive handing this ‘weapon’ to a reliable ally…ie the BBC.

And that British Social Attitudes Report by the National Centre for Social Research? [Interesting how in another report it identifies Brexiteers as ‘authoritarians’ and Remainers as ‘libertarians’…I’d say it was the other way around] The BBC is of course delighted that pride in Britain has fallen and that ethnicity based identity is being wiped out…ie white Britishness being ethnically cleansed…history, culture and people as the demographics are being deliberately engineered to ‘brown Britain’…

‘…a driving political purpose: that mass immigration was the way that the Government was going to make the UK truly multicultural…. to rub the Right’s nose in diversity’

The BBC’s commentary makes no note of this nor of the fact that a vast number of those polled would probably be migrants themselves and that there is a massive failure to integrate…far from being a glorious multicultural paradise it is increasingly a hellhole of hate and division…so often whipped up by the BBC itself. No idea that the loss in pride is due to the propaganda drive to demonise Britain and white people, empire, history, values, beliefs and indeed…’racist’ buildings.

School children are being taught to hate Britain and its native population.

The report itself indicates that it is the immigrants driving this hatred of Britain…coded as ‘increased diversity’….

‘This change in attitudes may have been influenced by the increased diversity and shared citizenship within Britain, presenting a portrait of a nation redefining itself.’

We are importing millions of people who have no respect for and no wish to be part of ‘Britain’ and no desire to celebrate British history…they come here for the benefits and have no intention of paying due respect to the nation that they seek advantage from and certainly no respect for its indigenous population.

It doesn’t bode well for the future….and the BBC is a massive part of the decline as it promotes that hatred and creates division, distrust and ghettoisation….’Whiteness’ must be eleminated…

‘“Like white power is Trump Tower. When we say we want to kill whitey, we don’t really want to kill whitey,” she continued, but then quickly added “we do” and adding “not today,” eliciting laughter from fellow panel members.

She added: “Whiteness is a capitalist structure, it benefits itself. It hurts white people, it hurts non-black people, it hurts black people, but still [there’s] this kind of fear of a black alternative and its these rhetorics [that are] battled against each other, these extreme capitalist rhetorics of supremacy.” ‘

There is a contradiction between some aspects of democracy and Islam. Much as Islam is a religion of peace, it restricts some liberties that are regarded as fundamental human rights in democracy.

What African Muslims need is the right to practice their religion according to the Sharia principles. They also need to be more united and reconcile themselves with the tenets of the Holy Quran

Did anyone say a Islam as religion is tolerant? The peace Islam talks about is when all the opposition are in subjugation or are all dead. This is exactly what democracy is not

Today reported that Kings Cross Station didn’t make a ‘Hogwarts’ announcement unlike in previous years…no mention that this might be related to JK Rowling’s stance on men not being women….tying in neatly to another BBC report on social attitudes in Britain…polled by Sir John Curtice who also said a while back…

‘Polling guru Professor Sir John Curtice has drawn parallels between gender-critical feminists and anti-gay campaigners of the 1980s….He was referring to a panic in America over the spread of the sexually transmitted disease which led to an increase in homophobia in the 1980s. It finally dissipated but Sir John believes a similar scenario could be playing out in Scotland.’

Which is pretty crass and not at all a relevant comparison. Gays were gay…but Trans women are not women….and it’s not an irrational ‘panic’ that can be dismissed as bigoted and ignorant women getting hot and bothered about nothing….it’s a very real and serious issue….but it indicates where Curtice’s mindset is….also bear in mind his organisation called Brexiteers ‘authoritarains’ and Remainers ‘libertarians’…which is in fact the polar opposite of the truth.

The 9am R4 Jim Al Khalili sho was as often, agenda pushing
A carefully honed narrative with a Nigerian British female scientist
which ends with her saying how proud of the of the Affirmative Action positive discrimination she has done
.. doh, this is racist against white people.

The 9:30am show began with an item assenting Mental Health problems are increasing dramatically in the young in the UK
and that must be due to smart phones.
There are two obvious omissions there

#1 Sampling bias : past sampling was narrower
Today they go looking more carefully and how probably broadened the terms of rerefence .. so of course the get bigger numbers

#2 Racial factors … some non-white people may be more balanced than many white people , however when it comes to generality the incidence of violent schizophrenia seems much higher in black people than whites
So if you have wide scale immigration the UK’s general mental health stats are affected

    ==================
Some detail on Ijeoma Uchegbu’s narrative
    – She was conceived in Nigeria and in 1960 her pregnant mother came to UK
    – The couple 19 and 30 came to the UK to study .. strange age difference there
    – Once born, her father paid for her to be fostered with a white family .. who were great .. would that be OK the other way around ?
Apparently delegation of child upbringing is common in Nigerian culture
    – “One day after 4 years suddenly they are gone and my father was in their place, he’d divorced my mother
    – Father married again,, so we were 6 children in the house
    – One thing was we always had protection in the playground
    – At age 13 Mum re-appeared, but then died 2 weeks after
    – Then father moved them back to Nigerian, she became bedridden cos of the sun
    – It was a good thing cos everyone around me in position of authority looked like me, so I thought could be too”
.. Doh judging the world by skin colour is RACIST
    – “In the UK my thoughts were different , at school I remember being shown picture of slaves in ships packed like sardines and thought they are not like me”
.. doh hey were mostly prisoners of war 300 years ago ,anyone of any skin colour can both empathise and realise that 300 years ago people were different
..”I didn’t realise there was a connection with me only wanting to be a checkout girl in the UK”
This sounds like a story ..her Nigerian family were certainly high born and her father had academic status .. so they weren’t low low
She went to uni in Nigeria in 1980s
She had 3 young children and a failing marriage
    – She came to UK with her 3 children and applied for a council house.
(That seems a bit cheeky to me, cos although British born , she’s mostly wealthy Nigerian and her kids are Nigerian born and fathered ..why are the UK taxpayers problem ?)
    – She got on a PhD course .. well they are not free ? Apparenently the prof had her do some jobs so paid her
    – First she lived in a B&B for the homeless until council house came through
    – For first year she kept her children a secret from her university PhD .. he channeled extra money to her ..that’s BIAS
Later she has another child with Andrius (seems to be another foreign student)
    – 2015-20 appointed UCL envoy for Race Equality
“I saw the data and became evangelical ” really cos white boys have the worse outcomes ?
The data said “you were less likely to be promoted if you were BAME, if you are female and black” ..doh there are logical reasons for outcomes being different ..you can’t assume discrimination
BAME graduated with lower marks ..yes cos positive discrimination lets lower quallity BAME in (maybe their home country grades were false)
    – “I made sure BAME sudents were especially included and care chosen to use not just white scientists but BAME and women too”
.. that is bias, cos the truth is a disproportionate number of historic scientists are white and Jewish males.
“BAME were paired up with senior staff, interview panels always had BAME”
“Now the stats have improved” .. no wonder with all that bias

“We got rid of the names of eugenicits from all our UCL buildings”
,,Doh I am not in favour of naming buildings after people, cos we are ALL sinners
However her action is vengeance and re-writing history

Jim “This diversity benefits” “yes diverse groups make the best decisions”
THat sounds like a narrative rather than truth
“Wisdom of the crowds is a real thing 2
but I don’t accept that more skin colours in the crowd equals more accuracy
“for example the pricing of stocks”
    .. this sounding like dreamery
    – “diverse juries are better” ..tell that to the relatives of clearly biased juries like in th OJ Simpson trial
I bet some “diverse” juries all have a grudge against a whitey accused
    Prog ends

One of the North Sea’s biggest oil field developments is in jeopardy after developers put the project on hold following a crackdown by Ed Miliband.

I used to work for a large Anglo-Dutch oil company. It and its fellow oil majors are used to evaluating investment decisions. A major consideration is how stable and reliable the economic and fiscal environment is offered by the country concerned.
North Sea oil was pioneered by Shell BP Exxon Mobil etc. Over the years they have sold off assets and not reinvested. Shell ditched its Dutch listing and parent company because of the environment. It will probably soon move to New York. This will cost the UK a fortune.
