Being a big Austen fan, Mrs Loather sat down to watch Miss Austen this afternoon. I did not as I was busy watching a wet plank warp, but ten minutes later I heard shouted from the next room “They would not have had a black doctor in 1830” followed by silence as the TV was switched off. We have been out for a lovely meal this evening, to celebrate.

Wonderful piece of poor propaganda – BBC news saying that a labour MP has been suspended from the party after being arrested …. Gave his name and constituency but not the reason for the arrest .
Obviously I believe all Labour MPs should be arrested just for being Labour MPs – but the Radio 5 live weekend kidults must be just interns …

Ps the website leaves out the reason for arrest and invites us to speculate on what it might be – sodomy is legal so unless he allegedly raped someone then it’s not that … I reckon kiddy fiddling – the commons seems to have an above average number of fiddlers ….

Update – mail on line says alleged rape and kiddy fiddling – innocent until guilty – except if it’s a TTK judge –
He ll get one of the TTK judges who will fix the not guilty…

From your last problem, if it is a micro sim card, and the target phone only takes macro ones, then there is a normal size one you can acquire with a slot to allow the micro one to sit inside to enter normally.

These larger size cards are supplied with micro cards just in case so maybe if you have that stuff from when it was bought, check it.

Won’t use the proper word ‘terrorist’ but will use the Islamist propaganda term ‘revert’…

‘The BBC has been accused of parroting “Islamist propaganda” after describing Muslim converts as “reverts”.

The controversial term was used throughout an article about Eid – the holiday that marks the end of Ramadan – published by BBC News on Friday.

Tom Tugendhat, the Conservative MP and former security minister, said the use of the term was “sectarianism” that had “no place on the BBC”.

“Calling converts ‘reverts’ is ideology, not fact,” he said. “It’s claiming we’re all ‘originally’ Muslim and those who convert are rediscovering their faith. That’s Islamist propaganda and has no place on the BBC.”

Dr Taj Hargey, of the Oxford Institute for British Islam, said the term “should never be used”.

“It is used by Islamic fundamentalists in their propaganda that everyone is born Muslim,” he said. “It is utter tosh and the correct term to use is ‘convert’.

“It is concerning that the BBC has chosen to use this divisive term that most Muslims would not use, only extremists and supremacists.”

Dr Paul Stott, head of security and extremism at the Policy Exchange think tank, said: “Why is the national broadcaster using such a loaded term without quote, qualification or detailed explanation?’

The European Commission admits it has used EU funds that were supposed to “fight climate change” for financing left-wing NGOs and climate organizations with the aim of silencing the voices of European conservatives in a secretive influence operation.

The funds came from the LIFE Program, which is supposed to fund environmental initiatives and has had a total budget of EUR 9 billion since 2014.

The LIFE program is a funding instrument dedicated to environmental, nature conservation, and climate action projects but some of the funds were instead used to attack conservative and eurosceptic voices according to the Austrian newspaper eXXpress.

The European Commission has issued a short statement on the matter:

“The Commission finds that the work programmes presented by the activist organizations (…) contained inappropriate lobbying activities”

According to internal documents, the targeted campaigns were designed in cooperation between EU agencies and climate NGOs, including planning which critics would be targeted.

    – “We see this as a clear misstep by both individual EU officials and organizations,” Peter Liese (CDU/Germany), environment policy spokesperson for the conservative EPP group, told eXXpress and added “the misuse of EU funds must stop”

According to the European Commission, changes are now to be introduced to the LIFE program to prevent future excesses.

Guidelines banning subsidized lobbying by EU institutions were already introduced in autumn 2024 – but it is only now that the abuses are being publicly confirmed.

Only a third of organizations and NGOs that received money from the LIFE Program openly disclose their income and how the funds are used, which has led to criticism of lack of transparency.

The former EU Climate Commissioner Frans Timmermans orchestrated the secret contracts with environmental NGOs.

These contracts reportedly included detailed lobbying plans specifying targets and goals. It means that the European Commission provided not just funding but also strategic direction on whom to oppose in a coordinated effort to attack political opponents of the European Commission’s climate agenda.

NGOs were instructed to focus on critics of the Green Deal, such as conservative MEPs, national politicians, or parties (Austria’s FPÖ and ÖVP parties are likely among the targets) who resisted stringent climate regulations.

For example, the European Environmental Bureau (EEB), a major NGO network, is accused of being tasked with influencing EU Parliament decisions by targeting lawmakers who opposed ambitious environmental laws, like the Renaturierungsgesetz (Nature Restoration Law).

Practically all the opponents targeted are conservatives skeptical of centralized EU policies, often from populist or nationalist factions of the European Parliament as well as national parliaments.

LIFE Program funds in the order of EUR 15.5 million were sent annually to NGOs—as a tool to enforce this coordination.

It seems that the European Commissions’s funding of many of these NGOs came with strings attached: NGOs had to align their campaigns with the Commission’s political goals, including neutralizing opposition by running “shadow lobbying” operations, crafting campaigns to sway public opinion and pressure decision-makers against Green Deal critics.

This included pushing narratives that framed opponents as anti-environment or anti-progress, effectively sidelining their influence.

The EEB, for instance, reportedly had to provide “at least 16 examples” of how their lobbying made EU laws tougher, implying a deliberate effort to counter resistance from conservative lawmakers.

The NGOs leveraged media partnerships and public advocacy to amplify their attacks. By framing critics as obstacles to climate action, they aimed to discredit them politically.

The work was outsourced by the European Commission and major NGOs like the EEB that were responsible for setting priorities, which smaller groups then executed.

Three of the EU’s largest conservative party groups, the EPP, ECR, and PfE have called for a pushback against the Commission’s funding practices.

In early 2025, EPP MEPs, alongside ECR and PfE MEPs, threatened to freeze €15.6 million in annual LIFE funding to around 30 environmental NGOs.

The MEPs demanded accountability and alleged that the Commission’s Directorate-General for Environment (DG ENV) secretly paid NGOs to lobby for stricter climate policies and thus undermined the legislative independence of the European Parliament and national parliaments.

EPP figures like Monika Hohlmeier, vice-chair of the Parliament’s budgetary committee, criticized the Commission for what she called “scandalous one-sided methods,” insisting on repayment of misused funds dating back a decade

    The EPP MEP
    @TomasZdechovsky
has said there is whistleblower evidence of “secret contracts” directing NGOs to lobby MEPs.

A few weeks ago, the EPP softened its stance slightly with a last-minute shift: they would drop the funding freeze if the Commission provided a transparency statement.

However, after a narrow defeat in the environment committee (41-40 vote on March 31, 2025), the Dutch EPP MEP
    @sandersmitwzn
accused the Commission of reneging on a deal to admit abuses, showing lingering frustration in the EPP.

The ECR, a Eurosceptic and right-wing group, has aligned with the EPP in this controversy, amplifying the narrative of overreach by Brussels:

    Several ECR MEPs, including
    @FiocchiPietro
of Giorgia Meloni’s Fratelli d’Italia party , co-tabled the objection to LIFE funding with the EPP, arguing that the Commission allowed “targeted lobbying” that disrupted institutional balance.

The ECR’s broader agenda of halting EU federalism is closely connected to what it perceives as constant overreach by the European Commission.

EPP, ECR and PfE frame the NGOs’ efforts as targeting “critics of the Green Deal,” which implicitly includes their own members—conservatives and populists who resist aggressive climate policies. Parties like Austria’s ÖVP (EPP) and FPÖ (PfE), Italy’s Fratelli d’Italia (ECR), and Poland’s Law and Justice (ECR) are likely inferred targets, given their vocal skepticism of EU environmental mandates.

Many of the NGOs were focused on issues concerning farming, migration, and climate regulations, making it likely that figures such as the Dutch BBB MEP Sander Smit (EPP), who represents farmer interests, or ECR’s Fiocchi, tied to Italy’s rural and industrial base, were either direct or indirect targets of the NGOs.

Following the Russian invasion of Ukraine, increased Russian aggression against the EU itself (such as sabotage of undersea infrastructure) and the foreign policy changes in the U.S. under President Trump, the debate on the EU abandoning the Green Deal has reignited.

As the Trump administration has stated that all NATO allies should be required to increase military spending to 5% of GDP, many European politicians now realize the Green Deal isn’t just making European economies uncompetitive, but also erodes European capabilities to rearm their militaries to the degree needed for Europe to be able to protect EU member states such as Finland, Sweden, the Baltic States and Poland from potential Russian invasions without massive American military support.

The debate in Europe on withdrawing from the Green Deal is just getting started.

Israel admits mistakes over medic killings in Gaza
    https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/cy0xp969n69o

If you read this story, you are led to believe that Israel simply opened fire on a convoy of ambulances.

The truth is very hard to extract from what the BBC write. It seems what really happened is that Israel attacked a van – which is the one containing Hamas and was driving without lights and most likely was going to attack the Israeli troops we are talking about.

So the IDF take out the people in that van. Then shortly afterwards FOUR emergency vehicles approach the same scene.

It makes me wonder who actually called those vehicles and how come they got there so quickly. And why four ?. The IDF were clearly very close by and we have no way of knowing if other Hamas people got out of those vehicles before the firing started.

We can never know because the people the BBC are giving full credibility to are either Hamas or their supporters. The point is that the BBC do not entertain the possibility that Hamas are involved.

Yet more evidence of the vicious misandry and hypocrisy, including weaponising of the law we have all had to put up with these last few years

“As she clings to what remains of her reputation, Blake Lively may come to regret the day she ever joked about asking Henry Golding: ‘Hey nice to meet you, can I grab your nuts really hard?’

The actress did in fact grab Golding down there – and later even laughed about it – as she improvised a scene with the then lesser-known British actor for their 2018 film, A Simple Favor.

A strange move perhaps for someone who, years later, claims she was so uncomfortable with another co-star, Justin Baldoni, and his alleged ‘improvised physical intimacy’ on the set of their movie It Ends With Us that she filed a lawsuit in December accusing him of sexual harassment.”

“Lively claims Baldoni improvised unwanted kisses while filming, spoke frequently of a pornography addiction and sexual encounters, and entered her trailer while she was undressed and breastfeeding her infant child. (Baldoni’s lawsuit, however, counters Lively’s claim that the entrance to her trailer was unwanted, depicting texts that appear to show Lively telling Baldoni: “I’m just pumping in my trailer if you wanna work out our lines.”)

Who’s been a very naughty boy then?

Does one allude to Russell Brand (often – allegedly), Dan Norris MP (allegedly), or that 13-year-old white schoolboy from Keir Starmer’s favourite educational documentary Adolescence ? (definately, bang to rights)

Perhaps, with reference to the above enthusiastically prime ministerially endorsed reality TV fly-on-the-wall public information film, could it be that internet celebrity geezer we hear so much about, Andrew Tate? Or is our special scolding due to an old favourite like Donald Trump, or… and here’s your clue… bad man Putin the Russian chap who our very own Boris Johnson condemned as toxically masculine?

The answer is of course a bit of a trick question because it’s ALL of us blokes that are in the dog house: Toxic masculinity We guarentee a worse future by dismissing the sinister as nothing more than silly (Sarah Manavis, Observer)

There was a time in this country, when things became too absurd – or a Monty Python sketch ran out of comic ideas – Graham Chapman in the character of a British army colonel would appear from stage left declaring “Right! Stop that! It’s SILLY. Very SILLY indeed! Started off as a nice little idea about old ladies attacking young men, but now it’s getting silly!” or in more measured terms “I’ve noticed a tendency for this programme to get rather silly” – or some such.

The interestingly named Ms Manavis continues: A benign, perfectly sculpted picture of vitality… or the palatable face of toxic masculinity? The viral response to US influencer Ashton Hall’s morning routine shows that the manosphere is now mainstream – basically advertising another, previously obscure to the mainstream, internet famous ‘influencer’ bloke.

While many men may be turned off by the overtness of Tate, this doesn’t mean they are turned off to a world defined by masculine dominance – frets our Sarah.

We’ve spent three years talking about the chilling rise of hyper-macho, Andrew Tate-style misogyny influencers, who promote an alpha brand… one that glorifies domestic violence, explicitly says that women deserve limited rights and broadly champions a vision of gender dynamics that were common 80 years ago. – Really, have WE? Has it been three years?

What are WE dating that back to then? Release from Lockdowns, perhaps?

So what is the supposed maleness (original?) sin of this guy Ashton Hall?

The optimised morning routine has become a near-mythical ideal for young people, sold by fitness influencers posting obsessively about their 5.30am starts, claiming to finish their weight training, macronutrient-rich meals and emails before our first alarm – promising that everything in your life would be better if you, too, had the discipline to just get up early… The video features him getting up at 3.52am, plunging his face into multiple ice baths, following an idiosyncratic skincare routine (involving banana peel), meditating, journaling and completing several workouts to maintain his ripped physique.

Basically, he’s getting up too early for her liking. We recall the immanent danger of the advice to young men from Prof Jordan B Peterson – clean your room.

Of course this runs counter to duvet days, shirking from home and proudly assuming a host of various self-identified and labelled mental health issues.

Hall says this routine “changed his life”; warning that “sin lives late at night” and to deal with “a weak mind, bad decisions or lack of productivity”, his followers should go to sleep early and spend the first four hours of the day practising this grimly rigid schedule. You have probably already seen this video: at the time of writing, it has been viewed more than 900m times across various platforms.

I guess that does sound a bit ‘Spartan’

The activist Matt Bernstein noted on X: “15 years ago this routine would get you called gay (or ‘metrosexual’) but is now considered peak alpha male behavior. Something weird has shifted.”

Hey, steady on with the ‘gay’. But there’s nothing wrong with that, as they say.

Elsewhere, Hall promotes a Christian, puritanical living… he coaches men to avoid hook-up culture and to stop trying to impress women; to, instead, change their lives in service to themselves and God

And we can’t be having that.

This content is less obviously misogynistic, but is still designed to promote regressive ideas about masculinity, which reinforce the new wave of conservatism we have begun to see among Gen-Z men

Our reactionary shift is going to look much more like what Hall offers: a subtle lean towards patriarchy, which wears its motivations more lightly while feeding into our many new channels of misogyny.

Ashton Hall is not the cause of our current gender divide… – That’s right, I seem to recall that it was Feminism that started all that.

…but we shouldn’t fool ourselves into thinking content like his isn’t part of the problem. We guarantee ourselves a worse future by letting these ideas fester in plain sight, unchecked – dismissing something sinister as nothing more than silly.

Oh, come on, let’s just admit you want to censor the internet – in favour of feminism.

(The Observer “Men” feature. Sarah Manavis is a US writer and critic living in the UK)

Oh, and by the way, the gynaeceum that is BBC news staff picked out the Observer to head their online print press line up today. Although I guess that pick was to honour the headline story: Starmer orders economic reset amid Trump tariff mayhem

Well, to be fair they wouldn’t want to promote to top of the pile the Mail on Sunday’s: Starmer rocked as MP held in rape and child abuse probe – but look on the bright side Keir – it’s not only muslim gangs who do this sort of thing – you could even make some sort of docudrama about him to show in schools – once the case is no longer sub judice of course.

Their number one fear is civil war between the religion of peace and the natives who object to being subjugated by authorities giving the Muslims special rules, conditions and laws to avoid them getting upset. Because we have a wealth of experience around the world of what they do when they don’t get what they want. Allah starts giving orders.

Now they know they can’t stop that : they have tens of thousands of them on terror watchlists living right here among us. One word from Allah and the knives are out.

So they must prevent the locals from starting any unrest which might kick them off. And the severity of what we saw them do after Southport shows just how scared of it they are. They let armed Muslims run right past them on their way to confront whitey.

The BBC readily blames Trump for whipping up anger and polarisation, distrust in the politicial establishment as well as being a ‘threat to democracy’ because he claimed his election was ‘stolen’….on the other hand we all know the BBC happily ignores the fact that Clinton has been touring the world’s media studios claiming her election was stolen and she was the rightful President…no threat to democracy there apparently. [And of course nothing undemocratic about a BBC and Guardian that claimed Brexit was ‘stolen’ and we must have a second referendum]

But there’s more…I’d forgotten this…as has the BBC so conveniently…despite this being their own headline…

‘Elizabeth Warren agrees Democratic race ‘rigged’ for Clinton’
‘A Hillary Clinton supporter said the Democratic party “rigged” its primary for her.

CNN asked Senator Elizabeth Warren if Mrs Clinton’s contest against Democratic rival Bernie Sanders was rigged, and she said: “Yes.”

Another Democratic official writes in a new book about the party’s “unethical” agreement with the Clinton campaign.’

    https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-41850798

    And Newsweek…

‘Hillary Clinton Robbed Bernie Sanders Of The Democratic Nomination, According to Donna Brazile’
‘Hillary Clinton’s campaign took over the Democratic National Committee’s funding and day-to-day operations early in the primary season and may have used that power to undermine her rival Senator Bernie Sanders, according to the party’s one-time interim chairwoman.

The DNC official, Donna Brazile, now a political analyst, wrote in Politico Magazine on Thursday that she discovered an August 2015 agreement between the national committee and Clinton’s campaign and fundraising arm that gave Clinton “control (of) the party’s finances, strategy, and all the money raised” in exchange for taking care of the massive debt leftover from President Barack Obama’s 2012 campaign.

It wasn’t illegal, Brazile said, “but it sure looked unethical.”‘

I wonder who is the real threat to democracy…a President who wins a large mandate or a media organisation that does everything it can to undermine and demonise him, inciting anger and division and provoking political chaos and instability with their outright lies and half-truths…doing Putin’s work for him just as they did when they ran a narrative in their news for four years handed to them by Russian intelligence services…and had the gall to tell us Putin was out to help Trump whilst at the same time telling us Russia intelligence had told them that they had ‘kompromat’ on Trump and he was their puppet….how is that helping?

BBC Kuensberg show was at fever pitch re Trump and his tariffs this morning. You could be forgiven for assuming that The US had been invaded by Martians such was the TDS hysteria.

The whole slant was along the lines of how can we help punish Trump as heavily as possible.

They really, really hate that guy!

Despite DJT saying there was a need for a new trade order all the way back to 2011 it’s amazing how many never saw it coming …

Despite that, she was arrested and denied bail. Lucy is being jailed for a post on ‘X’. There is no free speech in Britain – JD Vance was right. Elon Musk has just put up the tweet again on ‘X’. Its had 32.7 million views and reposts in America. Britain is now famous for being the rape capital of the world. We in Britain fear the Police are busy arresting thousands of people for being angry about black people raping and killing little white girls. Elon is being fined a billion dollars for allowing us to speak freely on ‘X’, Trump is fighting back with tariffs.

‘I’m doing Sahara race for men’s mental health’

    https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c3v9l49kq45o

BBC love anything to do with charity and men’s elf.

‘A Yorkshire man who is set to attempt what has been dubbed “the toughest foot race on earth” said he was doing it to raise awareness of men’s mental health.’

    Ok lets Verify the story:
First Google to see if he’s really a Yorkshire man..

*Charlie, who moved to Harrogate three years ago from Bournemouth* – Yorkshire live

BBC Article suspiciously doesn’t mention the amount raised,
    so Google :
*Charlie Parish is raising money for CALM (Campaign Against Living Miserably)
    £1,760 raised of £2,500 target.

    No mention of costs
    So:
“How much will it cost? The price changes year on year, but is usually around £4-5k per participant. This cost includes your flights to and from Morocco from London and half board accommodation. ”

Might as well stay home and donate the expenses

‘In order to prepare for the race, which could see him running on soft sand in temperatures of up to 50C, ”

    Running???
*In recent years, the average pace of the MDS participants has been 5.5km/h, a moderate walking pace. In fact, aside from the top 100, the vast majority of MDS participants complete the course by walking.*

    How much that cost?
    What’s the carbon footprint…

Curious what the BBC can see and not see…and doesn’t want us to see.

    https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m0029q9l

Listen to the BBC’s ‘World this Weekend’ and you’d believe America was in the grip of a dictator who was in the process of running a coup as the presenter tells us Trump’s reign is ‘all about power…strongman politics’ in a time when many nations that don’t have a history of democracy are subject to such strongman politics.

Hmmm…you could ask how many times have BBC presenters told us that maybe we should have a regime more like China’s in order to save the planet…ie a dictatorship that makes decisions without reference to any parliament or the people….er…just like Miliband at present as he rips up the planning rule books and all procedure in order to force his green agenda on the land as he spends vast sums of money with no accountability.

We’re told that Trump instigated an ‘insurrection’ and is now mounting a soft coup…he is ‘fascist to the core’…and scarily is looking to have a third term in contravention of the constitution….he is out to destroy democracy and America.

He is destroying government and democracy as he sacks civil servants, ends foreign aid and deports massive numbers of migrants and disrupts the world economy.

Er…hang on…aren’t they all things that Starmer is doing as he threatens to sack civil servants who appear to be of no use, has chopped foreign aid, chopped the welfare budget, cancelled local oversight of planning and is, apparently, keen to deport lots and lots of migrants? Not forgetting ruinous tax strategies seemingly intent of destroying British industry and as for Musk…an unelected axeman? How about Morgan McSweeney in Labour running the machine behind the scenes…their very own little ‘street-fighter’?

And immigration deportations….hmmm…Clinton deported over 12 million, Bush 10 million and Obama near 6 million…..way more than Trump has so far….though of course Trump’s aim is to stop them coming to America in the first place.

    The ACLU on Obama…

The BBC is an Islamist fawning/leaning organisation that is working hard to destroy the UK’s heritage as a Christian Country….

Sooner or later the inhabitants of this country will need to decide whether to submit to Islam or retaliate with extreme force. If they do they may find that the forces of law such as the police will attack them.

An unbelievable situation only 30 or so years ago…..

The Islamists can smell defeat from the encouragement spitted out from our “cultured” elite and will take full advantage.
