BBC making this a big story as Labour try to smear Reform…though the only thing Pochin did wrong was to apologise….
‘Reform MP’s comments about adverts ‘racist’, says Streeting’ ‘The row erupted after Pochin said she agreed with a caller on TalkTV who complained about the “demographics” of advertising.
Pochin said the viewer was “absolutely right” and “it drives me mad when I see adverts full of black people, full of Asian people”.
She said “it doesn’t reflect our society” and “your average white person, average white family” is not “represented anymore”.’
How soon they forget….
‘Too many black and Asian faces on TV, says BBC director Samir Shah’ ‘Broadcasters have overcompensated for their lack of executives from ethnic minorities by putting too many black and Asian faces on screen, a leading television industry figure said last night.
Samir Shah, a member of the BBC’s board of directors, said this had led to a “world of deracinated coloured people flickering across our screens – to the irritation of many viewers and the embarrassment of the very people such actions are meant to appease”.’
BBC news question to Lammy.
Getting to the crux of the matter of the interview, you are responsible, most people would have asked if he was going to resign. No, it was about underfunding and lack of training.
Bet women feel safe out there.

BREAKING: Protesters in Hungary have flooded the streets in open defiance of Viktor Orbán and his ally Vladimir Putin demanding an end to creeping authoritarianism.
Ursula von der Leyen survived a no-confidence vote in July 2025, with 360 MEPs voting against the motion, 175 in favor, and 18 abstaining. The vote was initiated by a far-right faction over the lack of transparency regarding text messages with Pfizer’s CEO during COVID-19 vaccine negotiations. She was re-elected in a secret ballot in July 2024 for her second term, receiving 401 votes to secure her position.

…………………
Lutfur Rahman was elected mayor of Tower Hamlets in 2014 but then found guilty of corrupt practices and, quite rightly, disqualified. It is a matter of great regret that he was able to return and get elected this May. Most people found guilty of corrupt practices would disappear, never to be seen again. Sadly, at the end of his ban, he has reappeared and got himself elected again, which is very worrying.
I am also conscious of some of the reports of people being told, “You must vote for Lutfur Rahman” in that Tower Hamlets election in 2014. The BBC did a report into corrupt practices and found that there were issues at up to a third of polling stations. As the noble Lord, Lord Hayward, said, 85% of people affected were women, which is absolutely dreadful. It is appalling that this can be going on in our democracy today

Baroness Uddin – “However, I deeply object to the assumption that this is about some women—Bangladeshi or Muslim—who maybe do not have sufficient understanding of the electoral system. For me, these women, who are voting in vast numbers, are maybe in the second or third generation, and I do not believe that that is the case.
This time, I went around a number of voting stations in particular. It is a fact that Lutfur Rahman has returned with a democratic mandate, and we ought to remember that. “
