I’ve finally convinced my elderly mum not to pay the license fee. I did a bit of research just in case they come to the door and this is what to do:
If anyone from TV licensing comes to your house, simply say to them ‘I do not require a license. Thank you.’ and shut the door on them.
Do not say anything else. Do not engage them in any conversation and do not answer any questions. And do not let them come into your house. If you admit anything, they may use it against you in court.
They then have to get a search warrant to enter your house to look which must be signed by a magistrate and they must be accompanied by the police. It is very rare they do this unless they already have other evidence.

Now that Habush Kedatu has been captured after Chelmsford Prison let him out ‘due to human error’ I have a couple of questions.
