Scott Mills having been stood down may have ‘plunged the BBC into crisis’, according to the Mail on Line. All I knew about him was that he was dressed as a lobster for a dance on Strictly. The Mail mentions that when at Radio 1 he led a hedonistic lifestyle. I might that I understood the same was said of Zoe Ball and Sara Cox. I never heard Terry Wogan being described in that way and neither probably Steve Wright or Ken Bruce. The BBC deliberately promoted these ‘wild’ young people deliberately to get the young listeners. It failed although it probably pushed a generation to think drink, drugs and casual sex were acceptable. Chickens coming home to roost? Perhaps the BBC in future should choose people for their knowledge and their ability to entertain rather than promoting a lifestyle.

I don’t understand how the car finance paybacks can be legal.
In my view there are two important factors in play that are being ignored.
1. The buyers happily accepted the commercial deal offered at the time without protest of any kind.
2. The cash paid back will be eventually stumped up by future buyers or Joe Public who were nothing to do with the original agreements.
It makes no sense whatsoever except for the massive legal buzzards circling huge paydays that it will inevitably bring.
If it was criminal then those who got bonuses from it would be arrested? Were the terms and conditions not easily understood?

They also go on about the world markets saying if we get our own North Sea oil and gas the prices we pay will not go down.
If that’s the case, petrol would cost the same everywhere.
It’s all the government add on taxes making it so expensive here and they could drop them considerably.
They are using these world markets as an excuse but it’s our own greedy government giving us the highest petrol prices.
