From April 2026, the government is removing an average £150 of costs from household energy bills. It will happen automatically and you do not need to take any action.

Find out about help you can get with essential costs. This includes food, energy and water bills.

Cheaper phone and broadband (‘social tariffs’)

    Help paying your water bill
Find out how to reduce your water bill and support you may be able to get to pay for it on the CCW website.

If you’re on a low income or certain benefits you can check if you’re eligible to reduce your Council Tax.

If you need support with rent or housing costs you can check if you’re eligible for help from the Crisis and Resilience Fund from your local council.

On Friday, April 17th, Amazon removed the book from sale in the United States. This caused the Streisand Effect, with a massive boost in sales on Ebay. On Tuesday, April 21st, Amazon lifted the ban. Within a few hours, the book was topping the sales charts in several categories. For a brief moment, Raspail even outstripped Hugo and Zola, Balzac and Proust, in the French literature category.

“At a press conference about the crisis, a French official who offers a speech in praise of the migrants is confronted by a journalist who claims he is merely trying to “feed the invaders” and demands to know if France will “have the courage to stand up to” the migrants when they reach France. The official decries this question as morally offensive and threatens to throw the journalist out when he continues to yell.”

I’m not criticising the book. I’m just a wimp.

All good things must come to an end…

After 52 years the BBC has announced it is to axe Football Focus, the Saturday lunchtime soccer show that highlighted the top-tier matches being played later that afternoon. Sad.

They’ve had some brilliant presenters in the past; Bob Wilson ( my favourite) Steve Rider, Ray Stubbs and Dan Walker. Some of the pundits have also been worth listening to. You know, MEN who have actually played the game.

However, just lately, following the Beeb’s endless journey towards further diversity, mixed race lesbian Alex Scott has been presenting the show. Apparently, viewing figures are now so low there are more people working in the studio than actually watching the show at home.

    I wonder what went wrong?

I just can’t put my finger on it…

“Since April 11, 2011, France has banned wearing full-face veils (burqa, niqab) in public, making it the first European country to do so. The law prohibits concealing the face in public spaces (streets, shops, transport), punishable by a €150 fine or citizenship classes. It is justified by the state under secularism and security, though it limits religious freedom. “

I will enjoy seeing the list the US has drawn up for those traitor nations who failed to help it – maybe the Falkland’s will get better treatment with the people become US citizens ?

I wonder what the arrangements / finances are for the US airbases in the UK – France – Spain – Italy which are being refused use ?
It’s obviously complex but I’d want to close them down and save the money for the US taxpayer – same for the rest of NATO really – Europe is being lost ….

      1. What is happening with the Crowborough site?
The Crowborough site began accommodating asylum seekers from 22 January 2026.

The Crowborough site provides basic, safe accommodation for asylum seekers and is designed to be as self-sufficient as possible. The site was recently used as transitional accommodation for the Afghan Resettlement Programme.

The Home Office works closely with local authorities, police, and community partners to ensure the site operates safely and respectfully, with robust measures in place to support community cohesion and maintain public safety at all times.

Three men have been found guilty of raping a woman on Brighton beach in a “cynical, predatory and callous attack”.

Iranian national Abdulla Ahmadi, 26, and Egyptian national Ibrahim Alshafe, 25, had denied repeatedly raping the woman in the early hours of 4 October.

Karin Al-Danasurt, 20 and also from Egypt, had denied filming her ordeal. He was also found guilty of rape as a secondary party.

The three men – who are asylum seekers – were convicted at Hove Crown Court on Thursday.

Refugee Action reveal our ‘MOST WANTED’.
The companies profiting from refugees’ misery.
he level of profit flowing to these companies from the asylum industry is scandalous.

In July 2023 the government stated that the asylum system currently costs the UK some £3 billion a year and rising. In our opinion, that’s a big incentive to keep demonising people.
