“There are an estimated 2,000 mosques in the UK, about 500 of which are affiliated with the MCB. The organisation is reshaping how it communicates, with a focus on video, social media and podcasts.

The campaign marks a strategic shift for the long-embattled organisation. The MCB has struggled for more than a decade to secure government engagement, dating back to a row in 2009 when the then MCB deputy secretary general, Daud Abdullah, signed a document known as the Istanbul declaration, which advocated attacks on the Royal Navy if it tried to stop arms for Hamas being smuggled into Gaza.

Candlelit vigils held across Australia for girl allegedly murdered in Outback
    https://www.bbc.com/news/live/cm2pje8rgryt

One might think that such a lengthy article absolutely chock full of empathy porn would include a picture of the monster who did it. And because it doesn’t, the seasoned BBC reader would suspect they don’t want us to see what he looks like.
And as usual they would be right. It’s hard to imply ‘whites are racist’ and make statements like :
‘It’s also brought into sharp focus the inequalities that exist in Australia – a wealthy place by most standards, but one that has deep disparities.’

When the murderer looks like this:
    ?u=https%3A%2F%2Ftse2.mm.bing.net%2Fth%2Fid%2FOIF.prs6kr72BFowhL1yytLTZg%3Fpid%3DApi&f=1&ipt=51d8a9063ea29eb01097c147195d524f9f0e858328ecb74ce99060d63c8ae311&ipo=images
I wonder how their ‘inequalities’ explain this one. I’m sure some Lefty hypocrite has had a go. They attempt to excuse everything bad that BAME do by saying it’s because white people are racist.

You can be 100% sure the murderer would have got a LOT more attention if he was white.

The polls seem to be saying Reform will get somewhere in the region of 1,600 in the elections today.

Remember Brexit. The polls all seemed to be fiddling their figures to show that remain would win quite easily, hoping to influence the outcome.
YouGov polls are almost always showing Reform 4 or 5 points lower than the others.

I don’t think it would be such a shock if Reform do a lot better than the polls would have you believe because they have form for showing Right wing votes lower than they actually turn out to be.
Maybe it’s also the people they ask want to avoid saying they are Reform supporters to avoid being called fascist racist far right bigots as the left tend to do.

Look out tomorrow for a higher than expected Reform vote (unless they fiddle it)

Attention all passengers, this is your Captain speaking. The cruise ship SS Titania will soon be docking at our first port of call in southern climes.

Those wishing to forgo this afternoon’s onboard entertainments, you are welcome to go ashore for a hour, but do please have your passports to hand. Local post cards will be available at the dockside gift shops and for those keen birdwatchers among us – you may be able to hitch a lift on a refuse truck departing the port for the nearest municipal rubbish tip.

However, for those content to forgo those pleasures there will of course be a full programme of entertainments. Including, deck quoits as usual this afternoon and bingo in the forward bar followed by our special guest this cruise Scott Mills on the DJ decks, haha.. Huw Edwards hosts a current affairs-themed pub quiz in the rear passenger lounge. And as strictly adult entertainment Gregg Wallace will present his after hours risqué stand up act, naughty boy.

    https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cj6p7ekwwn7o

Ukrainian national Roman Lavrynovych, 22, is one of three men accused of targeting the prime minister’s properties and car

Lavrynovych allegedly carried out the arson attacks after being recruited online by Russian-speaking Telegram user “El Money” who promised him payment.

During a police interview, Lavrynovych was asked several times if he knew who Sir Keir was and whether he held a grudge against him, to which he repeatedly answered no.

He said that he did not commit arson at any address.

Carpiuc, from Romford, east London, and Pochynok, of Islington, north London, made no comment in their police interviews.

    The trial continues.

These rather po-faced broadsheets find themselves stuck in a sort of ecumenical holding pattern for sadly outdated news sources this morning. The Daily Mail, as representing a more flighty excitable example of the dead tree press, throws in the towel as their print front cover laments: For latest on today’s election results and the most incisive analysis go to Daily Mail.com

I’m oddly reminded of an old gag in a vintage Carry On movie. Sid James is being nagged by his missus, Joan Sims, probably. Sid hasn’t had a job for six months is her complaint. His excuse is that he’s a skilled craftsman – but there’s not a lot of work about for a gas lamp fitter these days.

The mildly conservative Torygraph is unlikely to have much to shout about once the results are in but notes of their photo of the Starmer pair holding hands like newly-weds, although Keir looks as about dour and grey as ever, Victoria has a pleasant smile on her face: Lady Starmer goes to vote with a spring in her step (Telegraph)

Do you by any chance remember when BBC current affairs comedy news quiz Have I Got News For You used to be funny? (There’s one for the teenagers). They had a regular item where they’d show a photo of some celebrity or a royal or politician (usually Tory) in the news and the panel would compete to make funny comments that might serve as a humorous caption for the pic.

Considering the likely fallout from the disasterous election results for the Labour leader, I reckon she’s thinking: “Thank heavens I won’t have to put up with this act for much longer”

Home Office immigration official exposed as Chinese spy – shouts the Daily Mail – and there we were assuming they were all busy working in the best interest of… India, Nigeria and Pakistan.

The corporate globalist FT has corporate globalist business interests to consider as their top priority so this “shock” revelation is consigned to one of their brief frontpage Breifing notes:

Two men have been found guilty of spying for Hong Kong… – really FT ?

The Guardian goes off on a moral panic – in fact it’s that same old moral panic that the regime loves to push – the horrors of the uncurtailed internet…

Criminals using photos on school websites to create abuse images (Guardian) – oh the humanity depravity!

One senses there's some self-aggrandising shady quago or regime-funded fake charity that must surely be at the root of this story: The Internet Watch Foundation said an unnamed UK secondary school has recently been the target of a blackmail attempt (Guardian) – suffice to say Wiki lists no less than seven paragraphs of ‘Criticisms’ of the IWF ranging from questions about their charity status to ‘Authority and transparency’

And it all gets rather personal for Wiki: Following the IWF’s blacklisting of the Wikipedia article, the organisation’s operating habits came under scrutiny. J.R. Raphael of PC World stated that the incident had raised serious free-speech issues, and that it was alarming that one non-governmental organisation was ultimately acting as the “morality police” for about 95% of the UK’s Internet users. Frank Fisher of The Guardian criticized the IWF for secretiveness and lack of legal authority, among other things, and noted that the blacklist could contain anything and that the visitor of a blocked address may not know if their browsing is being censored – thank you Wiki.

However, today the Gruan frets: The watchdog said 150 images from the secondary school blackmail attempt could be classified as CSAM under UK law

I’m oddly reminded of this story: In 1962, failed writers Joe Orton And Kenneth Halliwell were tried at Old Street Magistrate’s Court for defacing library books from Islington Library. Their amazing embellishments to otherwise dull books weren’t appreciated and they were sentenced to six months for malicious damage. Those books are now amongst Islington’s most valuable books. The library books are the mischievous handiwork of playwright Joe Orton and his lover (and eventual murderer) Kenneth Halliwell

Islington Local History Centre holds the full collection of books defaced by Joe Orton and Kenneth Halliwell. (Joe Orton Gallery) – all now officially sanctioned and culturally approved: Download images of defaced book covers PDF, from the Joe Orton Collection (Islington Council)

Joe Orton’s defaced library books and the death of rebellious art… The 1960s collages that sent two young writers to prison remind us that in today’s Britain, no real dissident art is possible… Orton and Halliwell delighted in cutting up and rearranging the covers of the jaded volumes on the library shelves, creating bizarre collages that turned dreary 1950s book jackets into hilarious, erotically charged works of art (Jonathan Jones, Guardian, 2011)

However: …child safety experts and the National crime Agency… say criminals use AI to manipulate photos of children and then demand cash not to publish them (Guardian)

I’m inevitably put in mind of that classic Brass Eye episode “Paedogeddon!”

It tackled paedophilia and the moral panic in parts of the British media following the murder of Sarah Payne, focusing on the name-and-shame campaign conducted by the News of the World in its wake – thank you Wiki

Sometimes these segueways will tend to write themselves…

”Armed’ threat to Andrew (Sun); Andrew in masked man terror… He’s yelled at and chased back to car after walk near Sandringham (Mirror); Andrew ‘chased by man in balaclava’ (Star)

    And finally…

Women’s Football Awards 2026 in association with Metro (giveaway freebie corporate adsheet Metro) – Not interested, thanks. Although, if I find time on my hands on some rainy afternoon and can find a pair of scissors and a pot of pva glue in the kitchen drawer – I might be up for a bit of comically satirical collage cut and paste art work – before it’s ruled as illegal.

    Today again

Labour have sent out poor John Healey to do his ‘undertaker ‘ act telling us ‘they are listening ‘… but I noticed comrade Robinson didn’t ask him anything about defence or even Iran or even the attempt by Labour not to have elections at all .

A fair broadcaster would surely ask about such things as they are Importanf … but not our BBC …

Earlier – stupidly – sorry – cleverley was on with a bored ‘our Justin’ – cleverley said nothing – the usual dead blue party blah blah uniparty stuff ….

Before that daisy daisy – the Lib Dem cretin sounded like she was on Peruvian March in powder – I was waiting for her to be asked about the leader stunts for votes failure – but the bbc – being a friend – didn’t ask

BBC BIG NEWS …A MOMENTOUS DAY…YES ,ATTENBOROUGHS BIRTHDAY……OH AND SOME ELECTION NEWS.

Well imagine my surprise, the BBC are running the big story ( as they have been all week) yes , bbc veteran Attenborough is 100, so let’s endlessly go on and on and on about it. Why not ,after all not much else has happened today ,or yesterday.
Almost as an after thought the BBC have a carefully crafted story about the Government.
Oh…thank goodness the penny has dropped with the Labour party .the party intellectuals have announced lessons have been learned.

Yes Lammy, Heally and not forgetting ” honest john”Mcdonnell, have all realised that these votes show that the British public want Labour to do more of what they have been doing.
Not that the public have rejected the dangerous failed nonsense we have been subjected to, oh, no.
The so called , by the Bbc, “successful politician” Charlie Faulkner , who nobody has ever voted for, vomitted up a slightly different version of reality, that these results show frustration, if only Labour would hurry up with the much needed change.

Let’s hope none of these titans ever grasp what is happening around them. The worry is the extent of the damage they can wreak before being thrown out.

      Throw David under the bus!

“Sir David Attenborough has said that many people in the UK are “fed up” with the European Union and that British politics is an “absurd” mess.

In an interview with Italian newspaper La Repubblica, the naturalist and broadcaster said the EU may not have paid enough attention to what people care about and has allowed itself to do things that irritate people.”

      https://www.huffingtonpost.co.uk/entry/sir-david-attenborough-brexit_uk_5d5ce2dbe4b0f667ed6a720e

Asked if he was more of a Brexiteer than a Remainer, Sir David said he believed “there had to be a change, one way or another”, the Press Association reports.

He said people were becoming “enraged” and that he hoped people remembered “the lunacy that overtook Europe” in the Second World War.

…… JenRick didn’t go ‘whataboutary’ on the corruption of actual Marxist Ministers taking bungs ….

One of the attack lines the BBC is using is the ‘track record ‘ of councils taken over by Reform . These councils had effectively been wrecked and in huge debt – which Reform tries to stop .

So I wonder – how many councils will Reform actually control at the end of counting ? I reckon it’s only a handful . This is good because the BBC will be looking to attack any Reform council while they give their Labour comrades the usual pass

Also – it is inevitable that a few new reform councils are going to say or do something stupid – again targets for the bbc to use against Farage / tice …

Starmer getting spanked and rightly so…. Like a spoilt child he is muttering about not going anywhere, we will see when his Labour sidekicks feel the cold draught too!

I believe Starmer brought this on himself and it all began with his oversight of the outrageous, cruel treatment of Lucy Connolly. So many people saw the strutting self obsessed power tool that he really was in that outrageous vindictive anti-Tory threatening move against someone simply speaking there mind!

At that single stroke many people realised what he had in mind for his dystopian Labour future for this Country!

These are tough results for Labour. There’s no sugarcoating it. We’ve lost brilliant Labour representatives who’ve stood up for their communities.

People are still frustrated. Their lives aren’t changing fast enough. We haven’t offered enough hope or optimism for the future.

I was elected to change this country – tough days like this don’t weaken my determination to do that. They strengthen it.

    They strengthen it
    They strengthen it
    They strengthen it
