What annoys me is the lack of honesty and transparency, we have a Government making secret decisions involving £Billions, no announcements or debate in Parliament. I always knew Burnham was keen on HS2 and would probably start it up again but this is a grossly improper way of doing it. I have to ask where will the money come from?
What Burnham doesn’t realise is the main beneficiaries of HS2 will be London and the South East. in reality more power away from the North.

A thought on the Illegal Immigrant mega dinghy’s. As someone with a fair bit of seafaring experience, at the risk of perhaps stating the obvious I can honestly say those mega dinghy’s are dangerous. The problem is the the length of them and the lack of stiffening. A smaller dinghy might be more evenly supported in its smaller pool of water a wave passes there will be a smaller difference in water level from one end of the dinghy to the other. A mega dinghy might span over the trough of a wave which could result in the dinghy folding in half, very dangerous. Anything more than a breeze F3 wouldn’t be safe.

Why do people on panels and commentators keep saying immigration is one of the main concerns for the people in the UK. They say it’s in the top three or near the top, things like that.
To me it is by far the most important subject and way out in front of ALL the other concerns.
It’s because immigration has such a massive impact on all the other departments.
Law and crime. Think how much the crime figures would be reduced without the mass immigration. Grooming gangs, stabbings, people smugglers and many other criminal activities.
The prisons could lose about 10,000 if mass immigration hadn’t happened.
NHS. Waiting lists would be very much reduced or eliminated with 5 – 10 million less. Many with conditions not normal in the UK and things like FGM, knife crime victims and others affected by this big increase.
Economy/cost of living. If we didn’t have to pay for all those not working and the large families how much would that save.
If our youth wasn’t undercut by cheap labour they could get jobs, stop claiming benefits and pay tax.
Housing. With 5 – 10 million fewer living in the UK there would be plenty of houses for all and much cheaper.
Infrastructure. Water, energy and things like busses would be able to support the population without blackouts or hosepipe bans.
Education. Smaller class sizes and no complications such as language holding our children back.
Terrorism. Whether it’s blowing people up, burning churches or Diversity barriers for things like Christmas markets, mass immigration, legal and illegal, makes it so easy for them.
You can go through every government department and see what an enormous effect this mass immigration has on everything.
The commenters seem to think it’s only the cost of the dinghy boys and the French being paid 100’s of £millions. It’s so much more.
Immigration is without a doubt the runaway number one concern, it affects everything.
Socialists adore immigrants, legal or illegal.

*Saturday 19th June 2021: Horrible roller coaster day – Due to some acute transient right posterior chest pain 2 days ago, Ted Li order a CT scan. – I got a call from the radiologist at Sibley hospital where I had gotten a chest CT in the morning telling me that I had a lesion in my right lower lobe that he felt was a cancer (non-small cell carcinoma). I felt like I got hit like by a Mack truck. Doctor Li quickly followed up on this and show the film to Andrew Lerner at Sibley who is a pulmonologist specializing in pulmonary nodules. Doctor Lerner felt that it was more likely an inflammatory lesion and there were multiple other lesions that were very small throughout the right lower lobe. In addition, I had a pulmonary infarct in the right lowest segment that was definite. Again, Dr. Li called David Hellmann Who was with his son who is an oncologist who looked at it and said that it looks more benign then neoplastic and felt that it did not look like a non-small cell carcinoma. Finally, they showed the films via computer to Dr. Elliot Fishman who is the top radiologist at Hopkins. He agreed that it was more likely inflammatory and that the only definite thing on the film was the pulmonary infarct. He recommended a follow-up CT in three months and begin anticoagulation immediately with Eliquis.
*Monday 18th October 2021: Sad news today!! Colin Powell passed away. He had been under treatment for multiple myeloma. He was vaccinated against SARS-CoV-2. He died at Walter Reed Hospital. I received a call this morning from Dr. Jason Blaylock of Walter Reed hospital. I believe that General Powell received as good care as he could have gotten anywhere in the country or the world. It was merely an example of an 83 year old man with an underlying malignancy, in this case multiple myeloma, together with Parkinson’s disease, chemotherapy for his multiple myeloma, as well as underlying cardiovascular disease and hypertension. He had been vaccinated with the Pfizer product back in February but because of scheduling and other problems, he never received a 3rd booster dose which he should have gotten given his immune compromised state.

I find some irony in Sainsbury’s claiming to be focussing on their food business – if they are, it certainly didn’t show up in the quality of convenience food stuff I’ve sporadically bought there – 100% disappointing to my palate.

That top left corner of Africa has a pretty blood soaked history that rarely surfaces in the present series of events happening there.
Western Sahara (formerly Spanish Sahara) is a *disputed* non-self-governing territory under UN listing, largely controlled de facto by Morocco, with a smaller eastern portion administered by the Polisario Front (as the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic, or SADR). Its final status remains unresolved.
Spanish Sahara was a Spanish colony until Spain withdrew in 1975–76 following the Madrid Accords. Morocco then occupied most of the territory (initially sharing the south with Mauritania, which withdrew in 1979). The Polisario Front, seeking independence, proclaimed the SADR in 1976 and fought Morocco until a 1991 UN-brokered ceasefire. That ceasefire largely held until late 2020, when low-intensity hostilities resumed; the situation is described as involving ongoing tensions and sporadic clashes.
