    On 20 February 2026 the Butetown Tunnels (A4232 near Cardiff Bay) were closed after a police incident. Langdon, travelling home from the Wales Millennium Centre with her mother and daughter, sat in standstill traffic inside the tunnel for about 90 minutes to two hours after both ends were blocked.

    I don’t know how it’s organised – but organised it surely is. Police are taking *any* excuse to close roads for trivial reasons, for inordinate amounts of time. Fender bender shunts around here are now closing roads for half a day – it’s policy and an organised group are handing down the instructions….

    National Highways formally apologised in July 2026 for the repeated, lengthy closures that have hit the M5 in Somerset – note that the insufferably officious twerps in Plod employ who’ve done the stupid shit feel that explanation is beneath them. I’ve seen too many small incidents being colossally over-egged and people being subjected to 4 to 5 hour M5 closures when the fire is out and two lanes are totally clear ….

      I’d add that drivers as a herd can be stupid – but the actions of officialdom surpass anything they manage by several orders of magnitude.

      I hope the lady in Cardiff has dashcam footage of plod waving her through…

    King Andy has announced that his brave fight to keep cop killers in prison has been successful. Given he was a P.M. with a large majority and nobody opposed him on this issue, we need to know who on earth he has been fighting…..otherwise this whole story has been a lot of froth and fraud. Concocted to make him a hero.
    Surely not….

    On the larger story the BBC ( who are the media wing of the Labour government, “some people say”) rarely ask any penetrating questions of the Government. The story that the “Prison crisis”is the fault of 14 years of Tory incompetence is repeatedly pushed by the Labours’ Clown cabinet whenever asked anything about criminal justice and never challenged, indeed it is a response that is expected and encouraged.

    The facts are that today’s prison population is 86,500, when Labour left office in 2010 the prison population was 85,000, interestingly ,when Blair and Brown came into power the prison population was 62,000 .

    Well nobody expects much from the BBC, not anymore.

      Sir Michael Ellis, a recent Attorney General said on GBNews it was perfectly simple to tack on a paragraph onto legislation going through Parliament in September to stop the release of these Police killers. I assume any other way is to show how wonderful Andy is and that he is a man to get things done.

    Iceland has voted by 52.8 to 47.2 against reopening talks with the EU over closer ties. A result not dissimilar from the Brexit vote.
    What was that? Did I hear comments about having another referendum to give the good people of Iceland a chance to rethink?
    Surely Ed Davey and the Libtards will be on the case.

      I was going to post something regarding those percentages, they are eerily similar to British Brexit. There must be something in the human genome and the resulting people’s fundamental beliefs for it to work that way. As usual the pro EU lot are the elites, Lefties and politicians who see a plum trough job after the public have had enough of them amd a dispersion of responsibility for their crap policies.

    This morning I visited an elderly relative in hospital.
    There is a skeleton service over the BH weekend. No consultant ward rounds but an on-call Doctor if required.
    One was. He visited a very old frail lady. She could not speak English. Her relatives were there to translate.
    If this very old lady is British how come she speaks no English? Why is she even here? What has she contributed?
    I ask all these questions about the International Health Service because apparently there is yet another black hole in the nation’s finances and any company with the temerity to make a decent profit is set to have a ‘windfall tax’.
    Quite whether the government will offer a ‘windfall repayment’ should they ever make a loss is not clear. Speaking as a long suffering BP shareholder (share price still below what it was 20 years ago) a £50 bn sub from Burnham for the cost of Deepwater Horizon would be much appreciated.

      I wonder if bp will join the other serious companies delisting from londonistan and getting out completely . Decent companies dont need a parasitic Marxist government sucking their profits ….
      It certainly looks as the the coming budget will be stealing even more from taxpayers via an unelected regime

    Interesting BBC take…..consider the question…vote yes and you enter talks and then a vote to actually join…vote no….and no doesn’t mean no apparently…they can just start talks at a future date according to the BBC.

    Well in that case…maybe a yes vote wouldn’t really mean you enter talks…maybe it means no…no?

    Iceland must have a second vote.

    BBC report on French fishing boat Maranello sinking off SW UK – 3 survivors, 2 missing

    Either lazy ( stupid) weekend reporter or trying to big up Coastguard + RNLI (both possibly true).

    I skimmed it and something was wonky – the photo started me off – no weather like that this weekend.

    This paragraph :

    HM Coastguard in Falmouth said three people were rescued from the boat and have been taken to hospital.

    I expect a “normal” reader to assume that our brilliant emergency services did the rescue?

    Nope – a nearby fishing boat (Stradale from the same port as Maranello) rescued the 3 survivors.

    Coastguard and RNLI did their job (and kudos for that) and searched for the 2 missing – HMCG helo medevac’d a single man to Truro hospital. The other two seeming came ashore elsewhere and went by road to Plymouth….

    A substantial misrepresentation of events I feel – slovenly journalism or deliberate attempt to mislead ? – all the context above was available this morning *6 hours* prior to the BBC report being published.

    Not quite stolen valour – but near enough for me to spend 15 minutes getting the story – I despise stolen valour, I really do…
