Trying to get to hospital the other day there was a logjam on the road. It was first day back at a particular school. Every parent seemed to be taking their kids by car into the school grounds. The tailback from the school entrance reached the main road and the result was gridlock.
It was a Muslim primary school, funded by the state. I guess those of the faith are happy to travel any distance to prioritise their separateness over going to the local school. It was by the way 1030 so I guess no parents were actually working either.

Another “British National” murderer
A 32-year-old man has died after he was assaulted at Liverpool Street Underground station on Sunday night as he travelled back from Notting Hill Carnival.
Emergency services were called to the stationās eastbound Central Line platform at 10.51pm following reports of a serious assault.
The victim was taken to hospital in a critical condition and died yesterday.
His family are being supported by specialist officers.
Maximo, a British national, has been remanded into custody to appear at Highbury Corner Magistratesā Court today.

Mayor of London Sir Sadiq Khan has been convicted and fined in a fast-track court system after being accused of not taxing a 24-year-old Nissan Micra in what his team has called a “scam”.
The Labour politician, 55, was found guilty by a magistrate last month of keeping an unlicensed vehicle, in a criminal prosecution brought by the DVLA.
Court documents show that DVLA letters addressed to the mayor about the unpaid tax bill were sent to Gordon Ramsay’s east London restaurant, instead of the nearby Transport for London (TfL) offices.
City Hall officials said the car did not belong to the mayor or TfL.
A spokesperson for the mayor said: “This is a scam, which is a crime. It’s not the first time the mayor has been victim of a scam involving people falsely stating that Sadiq is the owner of a vehicle.
“Such behaviour is illegal, and the DVLA are aware.”
The mayor’s adviser told BBC London the DVLA was “urgently” looking into reopening the case, with a view to withdrawing the prosecution.
The DVLA will also investigate the false registration, the adviser said.
The magistrate, sitting in a private hearing of the Single Justice Procedure in Herefordshire, convicted Khan in his absence and ordered that he pay a Ā£220 fine, Ā£85 in costs, and settle the Ā£35.84 bill for unpaid tax on the Micra.
After the mayor expanded the Ultra Low Emission Zone (Ulez) to cover the whole of London he faced a wave of protests, including from motorists who said they planned to register their car in his name – supposedly to make him liable for the Ā£12.50 daily charge.

Is it not a war crime to attack civilian ships as Iran does constantly never mind holding the world to ransom?
