STATE VS PRIVATE

Now then, this was never going to be comfortable issue for the BBC to tackle – perish the thought that State workers are living off the fat of the economic land, enjoying substantial salary benefits over their private sector colleagues with feather bedded pension provision to boot. So, what to do, thinks the State workers in the BBC? They invite on Carl Emmerson from the Institute of Fiscal Studies who does his very best to ameliorate all differences and makes it seem that those nice people working for the State don’t REALLY get more than those of us who work in the private sector. Pathetic stuff. How about inviting on a guest who would have argued that the State sector workers now need to see job losses, job cuts, sacrifices – just like their private sector colleagues have been doing for the past few years? The BBC is far from impartial when the topic becomes one of how much the State pays those who work for it. L’Etat? – c’est BBC!

THE GREAT TEACHING SCAM, COVERED UP

Not often Ofsted comes up with anything useful but today it reveals that half a million children in England alone have been wrongly diagnosed with “special needs”. This instantly raises questions about the professionalism of some teachers and the approach of some schools. Now, this is a problem for the BBC which slavishly promotes the teaching “profession” so how to deal with it? Check out this prime-time 8.10am discussion. The BBC sets it up as if it is between someone in favour of the Ofsted view and someone against it. But, as you would expect, nothing could be further from the truth.  Jon Bangs from the NUT is introduced as if he is in favour of the report but he instantly starts wailing about how tough things are for teachers, how they need more resource and more training – unbelievable. Then, Headteacher Jo Shuter drones on about “barriers to learning” – listen to her evade Humphrys questions. Her arrogance and liberal leanings are obvious and there is NO voice to counter her.

DRUG STABBING TIME

Lobbying for the legalisation of narcotics such as cannabis is an essential part of the BBC narrative and so, on cue, we had one of the “UK’s leading researchers on cannabis” on Today this morning arguing for the licensed sale of the drug for “recreational purposes”. Pity this esteemed “leading researcher”  ignores stories like this.

IS IT COS I IS BLACK?

I see that Diane Abbot was on the BBC this morning doing a little race-hustling. Not only are the Coalition cuts going to cause misery to the poor, the least able but, gasp, they are raaaacist. It would have been nice to have someone on to counter Abbot’s mean-spirited race hustling but then this is the BBC and only one point of view is allowed.

PART OF THE UNION…..

I know you’ve been talking about the topic over on the Open Thread but I couldn’t help but notice a/ Just how EASY a ride comrade Brendan Barber got on Today this morning and b/ how blatantly pro-Trade Union this page is. Just look at the headline email under the main story…

I’ve never been a member of a union but I will certainly be joining any demonstrations the TUC organises against cuts. Dorothy Stannard

All together now, “You don’t get me I’m part of the Union”..

PAPAL INDULGENCES…

Did you see that the BBC will use up to 400 staff to cover the Pope’s visit to the UK, more staff than it used to cover the World Cup. Given the loathing of Pope Benedict by the BBC, I’ll be surprised if none of the 400 try to make a citizen’s arrest! Also, in this age of austerity, good to see the BBC does not hold back on these occasions. Over-funded, over-staffed and out of time. Axe it.

FROM OUR OWN CORRESPONDENT…

This was sent to me from a Biased BBC reader. I think he picks up on several great points. It concerns
Laura Trevelyan on‘From our own correspondent’ 11.9.10

“….she reports from New York on the controversy surrounding the Ground Zero Mosque but presents it solely from the Muslim’s perspective except for a relative of a 9/11 victim who supports the building of the Mosque. (amazing that 70% of Americans don’t want the Mosque built in that location but the BBC manages to find so many pro-Mosque advocates among non-Muslims).

She tells us that bewildered Muslims can’t see what all the fuss is about and that Muslims died in the attack also which raises the question who or which religion has the right to speak on behalf of the victims.

This neglects the fact that 9/11 was carried out on behalf of the Islamic religion which is why there are objections….not bewildering really.

She says that the ‘jolly and avuncular’ imam says this is about religious freedom and compares Muslims to the Pilgrim Fathers escaping persecution in England.

She tells us that this is a politically motivated controversy and Muslims are being adversely effected by it….they were alarmed when an ‘angry white man’ stabbed a Muslim cab driver…now other Muslims live in fear not knowing when they might be attacked themselves…hate crime has made a comeback in America.”

Fair and balanced?

IS THE CATHOLIC CHURCH OBSESSED BY SEX?

Further to Robin’s post, The Sunday Programme, presented by pouting Suzanna Reid, further puts the boot into the Roman Catholic Church by asking the question “Is the Catholic Church obsessed by sex”? Surely it would be more accurate to ask if the BBC is obsessed by sex? It strikes me that the BBC is up in arms about any Institutions which promote Christian values and which, gasp, might even take the view that homosexuality is not the ideal life-style. Now I am not a Roman Catholic, and I am well aware of the imperfections of that Church and the tragic failures that surround serial child abuse, but the BBC is using this to advance its own insidious agenda which is about removing Faith and substituting it’s own secular anything goes agenda. The BBC would like to see the Pope arrested for “crimes against humanity” as one of the studio guests demanded, and I am certain that during the Papal visit the BBC will cheer-lead for the lunatic anti-Church fringe.
