THE SPURIOUS COMPARISONS

I see that on last evening’s BBC “Question Time” Shaun “Where’s my butler?” Woodward was trotting out the line that what has happened in Northern Ireland presents a template that should be used to bring ABOUT “peace” in the Middle East. I just wanted to say how utterly trite and disingenuous this is on so many levels and at the risk of being indulgent I would suggest that if you want to understand the unbelievable depravity and moral relativism that Woodward was waxing lyrical about, you could do worse than invest in a copy of my book “Unionism Decayed” which takes apart the appeasement process of which Mr Woodward and the rest of the intelligentsia including the BBC are so proud. Here endeth the commercial!

QUESTION TIME WATCH.

Hi David Dimbleby, Shaun Woodward, Chris Grayling, Baroness Tonge, Willie Walsh and Stephen Pollardall! I’ve been away all day and am being taken out tonight by my wife and kids to celebrate my birthday so I won’t be able to do the liveblogging thing on Question Time that we all seemed to enjoy back in December! I promise to get this going next week but I would suggest that tonight should be real leftist hate-fest, with Israel in particular in for a mauling. So, tune in and watch it if you dare, and leave your comments here! Tongue will be worth a watch but the I bet audience will be baying…!

NO MAYO PLEASE…

Had the misfortune to listen to Simon Mayo on 5 Live today interviewing Barton Gellman, author of a new book attacking US Vice President Dick Cheney. The entire interview was basically an opportunity for Gellman to knife Cheney’s reputation as frequently as possible, with several snide comments about Bush thrown in for good measure. Mayo is a simpering leftist bore.

STRIKE

!

I suppose that those who may share my delight to see that Israel has taken out the Hamas cesspit and missile launching hotspot that masquerades as the UN HQ in Hamas are a minority. Naturally the BBC are enraged at this and you can expect the full response on Question Time tonight when wannabe suicide bomber Lady Tongue has her say. Even worse for the Beeb, those pesky Jews have only gone and killed Said Siyam, the Hamas interior minister, who controlled thousands of Hamas “security” troops in Gaza and who was said to be widely feared. The BBC does not elaborate on why he was feared but I am sure you can figure.

SOOTY AND SWEEP

Having given Prince Harry the full treatment over what he said three years ago, elevating it to a position way above the pro-Israel demos for example, I see that the BBC are now having a go at Prince Charles, over his alleged use of the name “Sooty.” Looks like it is open season on the Royals, still it helps take our minds of the economy and Mr Brown’s stewardship thereof! Who is next – Prince Philip?

GAZAN UPDATE.

I would urge you to be sitting down as you listen to Jeremy Bowen’s latest report from Gaza. It’s amazing, isn’t it, to listen to such naked partisanship dressed up as reporting? Jeremy is nothing more than a pro-Palestinian talking head, doing everything possible to diminish the Israeli response to the savagery of Hamas. He concludes his ever so world-weary diatribe by saying “let’s hope there is a cease-fire soon”. Why? He is now offering opinion which favours one side (Hamas) in the conflict, is this not bias? And while we are at it, I notice the BBC is STILL pushing the death statistics of those in Gaza as one BIG media friendly number, whilst they breakdown Israeli deaths by military/civilian. We hear how many kids have allegedly died in Gaza, we never hear how many Hamas terrorists have been killed. Isn’t that a little odd? The BBC seem determined to portray the deaths of all those in Gaza as being the deaths of innocents. It’s sickening to behold.

PARISIAN PERPLEXITY

I was intrigued by this item the BBC ran on Today this morning concerning what it alleges is the “raised tensions” between the Jewish and Muslim communities in France. As far as I am aware, the “raised tension” seems to manifest itself in only one direction, as the Molotov cocktails hurled at a synagogue north of Paris by “youths” demonstrates. I know that the French Interior Minister, Michele Alliot-Marie, in a wonderful example of dhimmitude, has been suggesting that there has been anti-Jewish AND anti-Muslim violence in France but the thing is that there is no evidence anywhere of any violence by the French Jewish community against Fench Muslims. Thing is, there is plenty of evidence when it comes to Muslim attacks on Jews but a total absence of attacks on those Banlieue “youths” that so enjoy a good riot. It would do the BBC better to report facts, not engage in wishful thinking, and that includes those occasions when the facts do not suit their moral relativist narrative.

THE SAME TODAY AS TOMORROW.

My but wasn’t the Today programme in cracking form this morning? Did you catch the class warrior Martin Narey from poverty-industry giant Barnardos declaring that “investment” in Education has helped mostly the middle-classes whilst the “poor” have seen little benefit. Yes, right-on, Comrade and pass the sick-bucket. This then segued into a report featuring a Gazan doctor and the death of hundreds of babies at the hands of those evil Israelis. The question was asked of the not so good doctor where the greatest risk to babies in Gaza comes from, the answer, Hamas, was never even considered! Next, Prince Harry and that alleged “racist” comment three years ago. The oleaginous Keith Vaz was given time to slime on and give his opinion. The BBC loves nothing better than attacking a Royal and this non-story, spun by the circulation-deprived News of the World, is perfect for the BBC since it allows them to set the attack dogs on the Royal Family but using the veneer of “racism.”

GOOGLE MELTS THE POLES?

I see the BBC have been generous with the amount of publicity they have given to a US academic who believes that two search requests on the internet website Google produces as much carbon dioxide as boiling a kettle. There is no discussion on the science that has led to this conclusion but that’s not important since the BBC objective in pushing this story is to further crank up the hysteria about man made carbon emissions. That’s why all this little quirky stories have a danger, they are all part of the mega-narrative that pushes AGW.
