BBC guest selectivity

: it’s not just David. “I should point out that Labour’s tax trap soon brought me a phone call from the BBC. Would I like to go on to condemn the 45p? If I said yes, that would make the story “Tory tax wars”, which they would love. Meanwhile yesterday an offer to appear on Newsnight to discuss the debt petered out without any explanation before I had the details … Continue reading

IN THE BELLY OF THE BEAST…

So, I was on a BBC programme this morning and I thought I would share my experience with you. The programme is called “Sunday Sequence” on BBC Radio Ulster and it is covers a range of topical issues from moral, political, theological points of view. I was on to discuss the issue of how Northern Ireland (and by extension the UK) responds to the recession – is it right to … Continue reading

HATE CRIME.

I was reading this BBC report concerning the decision by the Northern Ireland assembly not to prosecute DUP MLA Iris Robinson over comments she made about homosexuals last year. Robinson, chair of the Stormont health committee, called for homosexuals to seek psychiatric counselling. Now, a few points; 1. I have no time for Mrs Robinson or her awful party. 2. I passionately believe in free speech. 3.This BBC item presents … Continue reading

SINISTER RUGBY

Don’t know if you are a rugby fan but if you do share my enthusiasm for the game you may well be tuning in later today when the final chapter of the 6 Nations is played out. The climax is the game between Wales and Ireland at the excellent Millennium Stadium in Cardiff. So, how does the BBC cover this? Simple; they drag on some feminazi who finds the singing … Continue reading

NEVER MIND THE MURDERED – FEEL THE MURDERERS PAIN

I was reading this report on the BBC NI portal and it sickens me insofar as the way in which it is written tries to portray the police as villains when in fact all they are seeking to do is to apprehend the brutal killers of Police Constable Carroll, murdered by the “I can’t believe it’s the IRA” last week. Alex Maskey, a convicted bank robber and senior Sinn Fein … Continue reading

FRIDAY IS OBAMA DAY.

Gotta love Today. This morning I heard Thought for The Day pass off Obama’s teleprompter gaffe on St Patrick’s Day as proof he is human (don’t recall Bush getting the same generosity?) and then the BBC ran the spin that Obama “couldn’t believe” that AIG were going to pay out bonuses. Since the legal provision for this was signed into law by Obama, and drafted by a senior Democrat, he … Continue reading

QUESTION TIME LIVE!

Just to say we will be live later this evening for our weekly indulgence of Question Time. Fern Britton??? (I would have preferred Holly Willoughby I have to say if we are going to have presenters posing as political pundits ) Vince Cable – a biased BBC favourite graces the screen as does Fattie Clarke. Douglas Murray should be good and we can all have a laugh at the wretched … Continue reading
